You either want to be on the clutch, or off the clutch. You NEVER want to rest your foot on the clutch.

Same with how you ideally want to rev-match when you up-/downshift as well.

Some old engines dont handle the force on the thrust bearings from the clutch being pressed very well some modern engines have issues with this accelerated by "depress clutch to start" where there is no oil getting to the thrust bearings.

That and already mentioned throwout bearing. Although when you say coming up to a red light going into neutral or holding the clutch in too early rather than going down the gears is technically a driving fault here if you were on test due to not being able to react and increased braking distances especially if you happen to be driving a car without ABS.

Assuming the parking brake is on the rear brakes, chock the front wheels (both in front and behind on those wheels), jack the rear wheels up (do one at a time) and see if they spin freely with minimal effort with the parking brake all the way disengaged

I always break these off before installing for extra brake life

That’ll work, only needs to go high enough to get the tire off the ground if you feel like pulling it out, though in that case probably better if you dont. Those can be a pain to get out and put away

Fail for a tiny rust hole which realistically has minimal impact on the cars structure and the quality of repair an MOT garage would do probably doesent improve anything, perhaps even makes it worse with cracking from rushing the welding.

I think its rare for me to see any genuine catastrophic safety issues get picked up by an MOT, I more so see them missed.

I won’t post the dash cam footage because the deer exploded and launched about 120 feet. I hit the thing at 65 mph. It came out of nowhere.

The tow truck driver chipped a rim towing it and caused his own 1300 in damages because country tow truck drivers don’t care about high-end rims.

not all tow trucks do that here for example, this is a professional private service I hired to tow this from Tennessee to Florida for me. It was flat towed. The driver knows what he’s doing. He’s fully insured and they use strap downs when it’s the middle of the night you hit a deer and his state patrol calls a tow truck driver you’re kind of at the mercy of whatever you get fortunately for me I have a good relationship with my insurance company and as long as you document everything you don’t have a problem, but I agree that stupid hooks are horrible

Oh boy. Well Sydney (the fiero in the background) just fit; she's exotic and fun, a little athletic but not a super athlete, but she's unhinged and absolutely will kill you if you don't respect her. She also somehow drinks more than you could ever imagine

Lucy (HHR in the foreground) I actually just named even tho I've had her for a few years now. Cuz of her huge hips and 50s aesthetic, so I named her after Lucille Ball, of 50s show "I Love Lucy" fame. Plus she's unexpectedly badass like Lucy Liu. There's also another secret reason I will take with me to my grave

There's a curb - I don't think the scooter had much choice short of crossing oncoming traffic.
