Finally kicked the can eh
Yeah, $336 later it's got a whole fresh air ride system
Yeah it wasn’t near as bad till I split the frame hitting a jump lmao
Might try to reinforce it somehow not like it’s gotta be pretty
It's goofy ass grill looks like Bruce
😂😂
336$ aint too bad for a full air ride system though honestly
As long as it holds up that is
My compressor thankfully didn't kill itself
Just went into lockout like it was supposed to
Unobtanium now
Ah it’s one of those issues huh
Gm has been discontinuing gmt360 parts left and right
Those blue ride height sensors for the tbss and 9-7x
Kind of like gm quadrasteer parts and what not
Also unobtanium
Man it makes no sense, there’s like no new oem gmt400 parts anymore despite demand, there’s plenty of 360’s on the road still too
Blue link is correct, black link is envoy/denali/bravada/rainier ride height
Of course the saab one is different
Blue is also tbss
Tbss/9-7X share suspension and steering components
Even the nicer steering rack
Mmm i see
I’m suprised there’s no aftermarket parts
Hey it did pretty good compared to a lot of air ride systems from the same year
Makes the headlights worthless with the sport front suspension
Honestly if they were treated with rubber protectant they probably lasted much longer
It is the same as gm's other air ride systems
That's a gm branded Inflator hose lmao
You know the right side of your hatch interior?
Stock with air ride
Yeah
That's where it is from factory on equipped vehicles
Right?
Having dealt with non air ride equipped envoy's first it makes so much sense after owning a 9-7x
Yeah it seemed like a weird little storage area i never thought about any fancier packages though
My 9-7x has every option except
Power pedals
Travelnote
Hid headlights
Headlight washers
Rear dvd
5.3/6.0
Tan interior
Travelnote was technically never available on a 9-7x
But I'm going to retrofit it at some point
Oh also
Yours has homelink/garage door buttons yes?
Yep
Oh that’s pretty nifty
I don’t know what I’d use that for but it’s cool lol
I’ll have to see if mine works
Genuinely it's not that useful now with text messaging being on every phone plan, but it'd be neat to have
For sure, it’s definitely an obsolete feature but I’ll have to see if the previous owner left me a message
Does yours have 3 or 6?
These 3 were it, if anyone was wondering why the later gmt360 overhead console looks so blank it's because Travelnote was not offered
I can’t remember off the top of my head I’ll have to check next time I drive it
Or maybe i have a pic of it ill check
Oh yours probably also has the vent windows
Though those may or may not be electric on yours
I think it’s got 3 buttons from a video i have of it
Yep it has the electric vent windows
I think one of them crapped out though
Normal 22 year old gm actuator things
Things like to fall apart when you run crap over and smash into trees and drop the rear end with an excavator, what a suprise
Although I’m suprised more stuff doesb’t work
It's held up better than you expected though huh
LMAO
Minus the transmission, yeah
Re:
The pushbutton 4wd still works somehow, the key USUALLY comes out of the ignition without me wiggling it, the windows still roll up and down, all of which I can’t say about my gmt800
It probably had never been serviced in it's life lmao
The 4wd encoders on these are notorious for going out randomly but when you get a good one it's usually a good one
Oh for sure i threw lucas stop slip in it, but the fluid on the dipstick was just roached, it has like 216k on it and i’d be shocked if it wasn’t oem fluid
Yeah pushbutton 4wd seems to always be a pain in my ass which is why i like the manual shifters (which obviously don’t exist for these) but i must say this one hasn’t skipped a beat
My 800’s doesn’t work at all there’s no power tk the buttons and my 400’s buttons i have to wiggle to get them to light up and work
I saw a gmt800 4wd switch in a gmt330 blazer
Can we talk about that hood fitment.
The rear hatch wiper switch is just god knows where
The hazard switch is the 4wd switch
Its so weird seeing the right hand drive model of a car you own lol
Real
Yuuuup
I miss my blazer but simultaneously I really don't
"hey can I copy your homework?"
"Yeah but don't make it obvious"
Something else cursed, ever seen your steering wheel controls?
Should i buy the BMW 335i E90, it has a 3l N54?
Honestly just got my first car with steering wheel controls last year. I finally bought a modern car
I had an 05 canyon i drive forever until the 4l60 locked up and the it caused the engine to preform a very fast unplanned disassembly
Which sucks i wanted to try to see how mucb power i could push out of it. It was the I5 3500 vortec which is just the I6 with one cylinder cut off. The I6 is really good at pushing power so i wanted to see if it was the same for the I5
Completely depends on the service history and mileage, if kept up well they can be great but if not they can be reliability hell
The N54 is literally the origin of the BMW unreliability myth
My father's battery died so I had to go and get him to give him a boost
That said, finding a good, stock example of a 335 you can start making 430+ off just a downpipe and tune
And it'll last you a while
it would be my first car btw
its cheap
driven 253k
so i should prob not get it
Yeahh I don't recommend
Cheap, but it'll start getting expensive as maintenance adds up
As cool as 35s are it's probably best to look at 28s if you really want a BMW
Much more reliable and you gotta get used to german power before you jump in at 350+ figures
Kids 🧒
none of em are artistic too
thats actually pretty cute
i dont really need a bmw
i want something thats ish cool and realible
i was going to buy a hond accord 2008
but it got sold RIGHT before i came to buy it
Ask for timing chain change, N engines have problem problem with stretching timing chain and it placed in back of engine next to transmission making it expensive because engine have go out of the car.
it says only the timing tighten thing is "adjusted"
Imo e90 335 is cool but has too much power also the history of drivers what have done with it and did maintened it properly? This is essential for reliability. Also because BMW always want to make their cars as technologically advance as possible this tech tends to fail
Chassis code?
2s ill find it
If it comes to e90 323i imo would nice, 2.5 na straight six
Imo adequate, less power so it should attract less hoonigans, timing chain change in 40k
oof
but the problems with bmw
is that they are rwd
and i live in norway
so alot of snow and ice
3rd gen octavia rs or skoda superb with awd?
out of my budget 100%
my budget is max 10k
If you want, i can send you a list of all the avalible cars?
Ok
10k kr? Or €?
https://youtu.be/6ta3yPzI7Gc dude this thing is SICKK
David Mazzei with Mazzei Formula presents his revolutionary rotary supercar – a fusion of Italian-American engineering and automotive passion.
In this video, witness the first test drive of David's prototype: a 5-rotor billet turbo rotary engine paired with a sequential 6-speed transaxle, all housed in a sleek mid-engine Superlite coupe chassis....
This atratacted my attention leaves you money for repairs and putting protective firm under the chassis
This has drive train and power train from lancer evo
can you translate the page?
or is it on norwegian
none of the cars are road legal
and i dont know that much about car yet
it has alot of rust, that made it fail EU
So he welded something for the EU and it passed inspection has that new parts that he haven't installed because he selling the car.
He posted photos of the chassis, imo looks ok
Still I would go for evolander
cute evo
Not overpriced like hell... 😦
Better 😛
Any not suv?
That you saw?
I pressed awd button so there was couple of audis
But I can't recommend car that takes most of your budget
I have the same car but mine is 2014
Bad engine
i heard that it has a timing belt issue
on audies before 2011
cool
Not that its legal but its just an unwritten rule here you go atleast 80 on this road
I'm confused. Isn't that in a passing zone?
Its on road leading to a mitary base
I have seen JLTV zoom past me while I was doing 70 kph
So you're afraid to pass the person going 50 because you might get hit by a JLTV?
ahh vertical video musta cut it off or it was just a couple pixels because video small when not full screen.
Not really
The timing issues are mostly limited to the 4.2
The early ones ate the factory guides after a while
And most of them are coming up on the timing interval now
Those i5 are nice, they do abandon some smooth run & idle due to some balancing hardware that was unnecessary on the i6 but was necessary on the i5
yeah it ran great for the longest time made it to like 200K miles on it. was driving home from New Jersey and middle of ohio while I was accelerating on the highway it died
I'd almost bet money it was going in and out of torque converter lockup
I dunno I had lost 3rd gear about 10 miles before I was just trying to get somewhere with a hotel to stay while I wait on my dad to come pick the truck up to tow it home. probably shouldn't have been pushing it at all but I was kinda pissed off and was sorta just waiting on the transmission to go so I could grab a junkyard 4l70e since it can just be dropped in
Honestly real
I'm going 6l80e once the harness kits go on sale, trueblue and limeswap been working on it
10 miles may not seem like a lot but at speed in 2nd gear it would sure as hell be
Once again this applies
lol yup
Feel free to steal that, I got it from the 4l60e go PNNNNNN
I was on the freeway I was trying to get it to go from 2nd to 4th since It was highway speeds 80mph it jsut didnt want to skip 3rd for some reason
That sounds like you did lose overdrive too
well I had overdrive before I started back onto the freeway I had stopped to get gas and before I did it was fine but I stopped to get gas and it did not like skipping into 4th
I'm starting to wonder if your pcm was even commanding it properly
Was it stuck in 2nd or did 1st feel normal
uhh don't remember this was like over a year and a half ago lol
every gear on the 4l60e felt slippy tbh. after I swapped lower gear rear end with lsd to have more fun in it I definitly noticed more issues with the transmission I figure it had been going out a couple months
2wd or 4wd deleted?
Ahh good so your upgrade was unrelated lmao
@stark kestrel whats your opinion on mopar?
Either a hit or a damn miss
Honestly I'm really interested to see how the new 3l i6 holds up
Yeah it sounds like Mopar alright!
This was my mom's old envoy after the next owner had neglected it and ran up the miles :/ sounded like a diesel all the time at the end of its life..
They needed a vehicle and the envoy wasn't worth shit on trade in, so it was a better use of a vehicle but I wish it had been maintained by them better, mine is a night and day difference for being the same down to the manufacturing month
@stark kestrel on the bright side of the mopar that my dad owns, it has pretty good sound insulation
Left is standing outside, and right is inside with the door closed
Cop car.
Mid
I need to find a nice quiet spot to do this with the 9-7x, it has insanely good sound isolation
@hasty horizon ive seen a cop in my city driving a range rover (albeit repossessed from drug dealers)
Lmaoooo you know that range rover still smells like green
It doesnt
Not hard to get that smell out
Somehow I doubt that there's no smells
Man my malibu still smells like weed from the previous owner and I can’t get it out
Go to a professional detailer
Like it’s mostly gone but there’s an off scent
It’s a 1300$ car lol
10% of the vehicle cost, but if it's a daily bite the bullet and get it done
I will say those prices are ✨outdated✨
It is a daily
Might bite the bullet i dunno theres some funky stains in the carpet too
These prices are canadian dollars
Website dont like portrait mode :P
In Vancouver, that's between $111 and $454 usd
Huh?
Roughly, boogle ai gave you the low end of averages.
Down here it's way more typically
But we also have weirder than usual environmental damage
Eh, cool
hello fellow car nerds
today I got a puncture repair done on my car and they have scratched the wheel they did it on. Do you guys thinks its unreasonable for me to say no to a refurb?
The wheels were in original condition no scratches nothing a perferct wheel just dirty. And now there are pretty deep pain scratches and paint chips
Imo no especially if they didn't immediately tell you
Nah they didnt I took pictures of my wheels before because my dad had a similar situation
4.5k on wheels for his then new mercedes
this is a before
every wheel nut hole scratched to hell like you can see the alloy
this just some of the damage there is a lot more its like they just rolled it all over the garage.
If you’ve ever owned a cheap early 2000’s gm car you dread this light
Alternatively, amber security light
Somehow my car runs fine despite passlock being a bitch
Why?
Anti theft system be wildin randomly and the only way to get yo car to start is to wait like 10 minutes for it to go away
Slows you way down lol
The astro was AWFUL about it
I guess ill attempt to explain to the tyre shop that I need new wheels
Oh I’m sure lol it’s terrible on anything from this era
Most annoying part its only that one wheel
Why would you need new wheels for a scratch
Just get it repainted lmfao
Because a refurn job wont do it
Yes it will
It will chip and they are only doing 2 wheels
or the one and they will never get the same paint
All paint will chip
not if its original
Incorrect
I have had this car for 3 months its literally in mint condition no scratch
Completely incorrect,
This is the correct reason
I went for a tyre puncture repair and got a scratched wheel
Inb4 the owners manual doesn't recommend getting the tyres serviced by anyone but audi
Yeah but I wouldnt make it to an audi dealer
@prime valve My dads 25 year old car had had rims repainted, and the ones that havent been repainted have paint starting to chip
Getting rims repainted doesnt make it chip
I mean if they do a good job
Audi is not known for that
last time the paint shop did it they had orange peel
Go to a different shop then
well they will only do it at that shop
I mean point still stands they will not make it colour match
and will only do the one wheel
Honestly seeing other audi with similar issues I think an aftermarket paint will hold up better
But also I think the shop should've told you upfront they fucked up
vroom vroom
Yeah they didnt seem to care
But thinking about it ill probably contact audi and ask if they can recommend someone that can do it
Then it wont be a different shade and it wound bother me
just bought a car without knowing a recall was issued recently
its okay
not a reason to stop anyone from doing a purchase
follow recall guide and maybe its a thing you can fix on your own in the garage
if its not a safety issue and its something they will cover id keep it
Usually voids warranty
really just depends on the problem
True but if that means you gotta leave the car for a week then id get rid of it
dont think i can replace an airbag
they can
speaking for myself ofcourse
What car did you get?
not if u do it urself
BMW 1 series
2024 shape?
2016
What engine?
B37
pretty nice engine, extremely economical too
not worth it imo
again, depends
What mileage you getting?
60-65 mpg in town
disconnecting the battery will eliminate most of the risks
its a 1.5 diesel cant get better economy
and its rwd so thats a bonus
Technology has really done the gods work with fuel economy
What what
no way
I thought they were all FWD
Thats very nice
its pretty fun for 116 hp
I really cant wait till my insurance goes down
i cant wait till i get the plates for it
Really want a 340i or 440i
nice
I feel like BMW is the only brand doing pretty nice interiors now
I still kinda like this
sure its a big screen but it looks nice
actually I retract that statement
its the pre facelit one im on about
bottom one actually has button for climate control
nice
Honestly as a mechanic shits 50/50 u scratch shit
I have only really scratched the outer ring of the ally tho as the tyre machine goes round
Yeah but if the wheel was brand new no scratches before
And now its damaged surely i should get it back the same
Ye u should but they are only human
I have done ones like that a lot tbh
That one’s a bit acoustic tho
Yeah I get that but like come on
Yeah i get it people make mistakes
But like own up to it or just say we messed up first thing he said was. Why did you even take a picture before?
Which straight away triggered me coz aint no way a manager is asking me a question where he can see what has been done.
Definitely its on all 5 of the nuts
Which is kinda crazy just at different angles
fair enough
was the service good tho ? did they get u in last minute and how much did they charge ifu dont mind sayin
I went in to the garage and asked they gave me a time and I just left the car at their car park since I didn’t wanna drive on a flat.
Its just annoying but I think a refurb at a audi dealer or someone that does it for them isnt unreasonable
Im not expecting a new set of wheels just want it to look similar
Last time my dad had a similar situation they refurbished the wheels to OE colour which was as far away from OE as it gets
Only reason I took a picture was because I thought to myself “aint no way they will damage my wheels right?” And here we are
Smith and Smith repair Smith and Smith replace
Hey y'all! Thanks for the support on my last video. I made it I was 13, and I never expected it to get as popular as it did. In the comments, some people mentioned that there were some jingles I missed, so I got more and made a new video! I put more effort into this video and included all the highest quality jingles I could find, so I hope y'all...
Love Saab
Carbon wrap is a bit cheesy though
The fake woodgrain is cheesier
Nah
Yeaaa trust me on that
That’s normal for factory cars
Nah the envoy fake carbon looks 200% better
I beg to differ
Yeah but that at least doesn't look and feel like plastic
Yeah but the same shiny plastic gm used for the Gmt900 dash
That's what the material is
I’m not familiar with that dash
This is the only American car I’ve had
It looks nicer than carbon
I'm probably going to do it in a matte black or silver for a proper fit, the woodgrain isn't it, but this carbon look vinyl test fit does still look surprisingly decent for a test fit
I mostly was getting measurements and ended up just leaving it because it looked better
I'm not the only one to do it unsurprisingly lmao
Not enough buttons and gauges
What's the temp gauge on the left for? Exterior?
0-100° F
Yep
Ambient exterior temp
-20ish to 100
I both really love that and immensely dislike that
A digital one is a lot easier to read
But they are all factory options
This part is not so factory
For buttons and gauges we are roughly equal, 9-7x may even have an extra handful of buttons. A couple of my gauges are digital but my tach, speedo, oil pressure, coolant temp, voltage, and fuel are all proper analog
I actually deleted most of those on the radio itself when I went aftermarket, half were digital half were physical, now I have 5 physical and a knob while using android auto
Am I old and stuck in the past? I can't describe how I hate how the current trend manufacturers put every controls into one big distraction enducing screens. I miss analog dials too. I don't understand how voting with wallet could change it.
Is this worse?
100% I hate screens
It boils down to personal preference... and the fact that most consumers are powerless to force a manufacturer to design with safer to use physical controls. 😦 I too detest baking everything into a touchscreen - makes the vehicle unsafe to operate, or outright illegal in certain jurisdictions.
I dislike screens with a caveat, my factory navigation screen was so awful an aftermarket aliexpress android auto compatible unit feels better, I could've got a 97x with the base radio but there were none with low enough odometer except with navigation
I will say, I use my steering wheel controls and voice commands VERY often, my screen goes weeks without being touched
My car has 8 segment displays all around and a 6 disc CD changer
Same regarding the steering wheel controls - I use them more often than I thought. It's the climate controls, radio preset button, and even things like windshield wipers I cannot stand being on a touchscreen.
This is more or less what my car's interior looks like. (Not my photo; but tis close enough.)
I haven't used terrestrial radio in awhile because there's nothing good on it here anymore
Iheartmedia owns it all
what kind of controls do you have on steering wheel? Mine only has volume and track select
I rarely use
Luckily, I still have a good enough mix of FM stations owned by a handful of media conglomerates.
Volume, mode (FM/AM/CD/AUX/Bluetooth), Next/Prev track, Calls (answer/hangup), and Cruise control.
do you guys call people in car often?
I wouldn't mind steering wheel buttons
Yeah at least they're buttons
Once a week
Rarely - it's 2025 - I don't answer my phone unless I'm expecting a call or otherwise know it's an emergency. Phone's been on silent-silent mode (not even vibrate) since 2014. 🤣
ok same actually
I'm trying to find photo of mine car's interior but it's so low spec that I can't.
Something like this but no buttons on steering, CD radio, manual ac, no heated seats just TC button.
No front fog lights 🤣
And I'm using fm transmiter because I love that stock amber lightning
I use seek|< >| / volume/🗣️ is Google assistant(doubles as accept call) and nxt is end call, my source buttons work but I usually just use android auto or USB music
...
Don't reverse image search that
It really heavily depends on the implementation and varies a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer. I have a car from every decade from 1990 to today and I have personally not directly understood why people get so upset about screen controls
But I also don't ever really touch the radio or A/C while I'm in motion
The rare time I need to it hasn't been an issue though. To be honest the newer cars that have actual display options for it usually have voice commands and I just use those lol
Where I live, using a touchscreen (even mounted to the dash) is technically considered distracted driving so... I would quite literally have to pull over if I wanted to so much as increase the temperature. 🤷 Don't get me wrong though; I like how clean / seamless these interfaces can be... if designed correctly.
Yeah that much I can understand. It really depends a lot on the car and its implementation
Like I was saying if I want to adjust the temperature in my car w/ touchscreen I just press the voice command button on the wheel and verbally say the temperature or hi/lo
The one big thing I did always find silly is that conceptually speaking, some dials are digital and use or rely on displays and those ones can be worse than screens sometimes 😭
because I have to then look at the dial to know what the temp is at
I find even with an automatic climate control system I don't need to look to see what I'm doing
I keep my dual zone system synced usually, so the driver side temp knob gets the most use, and I usually keep that at 60 unless I'm cold then it gets turned up to 73
(Fahrenheit)
Yeah that's how it is for me in my daily. It's pretty much always at the same temperature
My auto climate is really predictable which is super nice
That's the nice thing about more modern cars with smarter setups, since it's temperature based
In winter anything nicer than the cold is usually good enough
in summer if I really want it to be colder I open a window on the highway before I adjust the A/c
Yeah but knowing the temp you like to dial in?
It does, Mopar's auto climate kinda sucks
I've owned more BMWs than any other brand and yet I've found the A/C in all of them to be pretty inconsistent/finicky
I never buy them with climate being a big factor
I'm sure it's better on the newer ones
but I always found it interesting
I would've expected them to be better
I drive a Saab 9-7x, I knew what kind of gm bullshit I was getting myself into
lmao
It's still probably better than my RX-8 was at least
same era of car but that thing was just uncomfortable
lots of fun though
The few times I've had trouble with it... Called the tow truck while still troubleshooting, minute i say the word flatbed I swear it fuckin is ready to crank right up
(it was a wheel speed sensor taking down the class 2 serial bus)
Like, immediately happy
God this is such a mood dude
I had that happen with one of my old cars I no longer own
The soft top stopped working
I was on the phone with BMW arranging a service for it and then it miraculously started working again
and never broke down after that
But unfortunately it doesn't always work
Like when you get a flat tire
I've had 3 roadside calls for it in the past 2 years
Well yeah but that's outside of its control
OOF
Most recently I just wanted a mcdonald's ice cream cone
Went out
got it
on the way home, hit a pothole that previously wasn't there
I had a tire blow out on my blazer
caused a suspension malfunction and the car shut down
OOF
Air ride things, I just had to get new bellows and ride height sensors
I was civic slammed for a good minute
It's very nice to have but whenever something goes wrong it's a headache to say the least
Tbss/9-7X ride height sensor links are nla'd already
I've thought about getting coilovers but honestly the airride is just better for daily and it stiffens up enough for track use
if I was using it strictly as a track car absolutely but I'm in it for the fun and most of the upgrades I've gotten are more as an enthusiast than a "racer" lol
these little blue bastards
Real
Also, not my hand, the hand of the awesome dude who found and sent me those ride height links to measure for reproduction & put on my 9-7x
Got me back to stock sport ride height
Man it is so apparent how non-standardized airride is
Yup
because I didn't recognize those as height links LOL
Well, that's only half of them
The sensor unit itself I didn't need
Just those little blue bastards with the tpu rings
Those look both aftermarket and adjustable
They are aftermarket, I am trying to find photos of the stock ones
The stock ones are still quite beefy
There were some of those for us, but the dude who was making them died quite a few years ago at this point
May he rest in peace
Realistically, it's a non load bearing component
The files I'm making for the links themselves will be alterable for various ride heights but I'm probably only gonna release 3-4 file versions of that with the tpu endlinks
This is just a cheap & easy way to fix it properly instead of rigging up coat hangers like they had been
lmao
Makes sense though
It's wild we are already at the point a vehicle made in 2008 needs parts reverse engineered
I was just about to comment that
"It's wild that you need to do this yourself and that the parts are basiclaly not available anymore"
My 1992 RX-7 has open market parts for pretty much everything in the car
and it's barely OEM at all anymore
Dorman has a part, but the links are too long and make my headlights worthless
I think the parts of my car that are still stock are the pop up headlights/motors, the underbody and frame, the trunk liner and interior trim, steering column and pedals
And the hood
Nothing else in it is original
Mine has all oem on it except for the radio at the moment
She's stock hoss(my hood is blue though)
Mazda of Theseus
I'm trying to grab a photo
I guess if you want to be pedantic, a lot of the dshboard/gauge cluster is still OEM
I can't escape that kenwood I stg
I was just looking at that model with someone from the Saab server
There was a variant of it that shipped with an unobtanium 9-3 fascia
Eh it be like that, still Theseus' rx7
Definitely
and I guess the doors 🙄
Although the car was repainted
which is not OEM

It's definitely much more competent as a performance car than it would have been from the factory
Yep
Genuinely we were looking at info about that damn headunit's origins and where tf to find the 9-3 fascia they were looking for
For hours
9-7x Canadian and Greek cluster respectively
I hope that got the point across of how curious we were, just to see it a few days later in your rx7
The big fat piece of plastic around the kenwood
Is unobtanium
I once thought about adding a 3rd party radio to my E46.
Would the reported average mpg on a volo also consider stop start traffic?
I did a little calculation and found in getting approx 15mpg on my commute
Some cars does it. Others not.
Easiest is to just check distance with the fuel used.
Yeah I presumed so

My automatic wipers are acting so weird. 99% of the time they dont work in rain but then somehow they start actually working but then a few minutes later it just stops working and wipes continuously even if its dry or when there is little to no rain.
Have you cleaned the exterior glass well with iso?
It could also be a failed rainsense module which would be unfortunate
I’m taking it to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully getting it fixed under dealers warranty
I cleaned it with some car glass cleaner many times
Those rainsense modules work simple typically, basically it's a light disruption like a fixed optical mouse
If it's under warranty definitely just let them deal with it lol
Yeah
My headlight is also filled with condensation so that’ll hopefully get fixed as well.
OOF
What vehicle is it?
Oh so it's an 11 year old vehicle, not bad but those issues are expected
So far the only major concern is that fact the car kinda “turned off” while I was driving. Lights, radio turned out of no where and check engine light came on for 3 seconds before turning off again and after that it was like nothing happened. But so far no breakdowns in the time I have owned it.
Oh frick that is very good looking
Yeah, the only thing I plan on changing at some point is giving it a spoiler
The RX-7 looks a bit naked without one
Especially with a wide body
WAIT ITS YOURS?!?!
Yeah
bless, thats awesome dude, enjoy the car
Im not familiar with the different trims/options, is that one you have the turbo'd 13b?
The one I have has a fully built LS3 under the hood
It originally was a twin turbo 13B
oh daaaamn very awesome\
But the engine blew in 2015
done by you?
Previous owner bought it as a roller
Had all of the work done by a restomod shop on Vancouver island
I have receipts for every part and every hour of labor in a folder
It’s extensive
Ahhh fair enough
I’ve owned a 13B car before so I don’t really feel like I’m missing out
I have a V10 M6 if I want something that revs to the moon
yea thats fair then, lot of maintenance eh?
Yeah they’re just too unreliable
There’s always work to be done
Some people like that
I don’t
yea thats unfortunate :/ such awesome sounding engines when proper
100%, its a beautiful chassis
Some people say it’s half of what makes the RX-7 great
I disagree
I think the 13B is fun to experience and a nightmare to own unless you really like getting dirty with your car day to day
id say its half of what makes the rx-7 known for, but id say its great for many other reasons. With that said ive never driven on or worked on one so my opinion is pretty uninformed xDDD
As someone that owns several enthusiast cars including the RX-7
There’s a reason I went for the LS3 haha
super valid hahahah
Shoulda gone twin turbo K heheheh
I think that a K swap definitely suits the chassis better
But something about a 600hp V8 in a 2900lb car is unique
I think BMW gets memed on in general for unrealiability, and all their cars regardless of actual facts get kinda cooked in that regard
And it being RHD makes it that much more unique
Oh for sure, both are awesome options, S tier engines for sure
all depends what you prefer and is available to you
thats pretty sweet
I have a Miata too though
If I didn’t I might have considered the 13B again
But the Miata’s engine honestly has similar driving character to the rotary, it just doesn’t scream as loud
Miata & RX-7 would be a great two car solution if either of them had usable cargo room LOL
Oh thats pretty cool, didnt realise they were that similar
I only have my little shitbox civic xD i hope to own some of the great JDM legends one day tho
To be honest an NC or ND Miata is more fun than an old RX-7
Just need to get old + get money + get a garage and were dialed
The RX-7 is a show for everyone that gets to see it
Yea I can see that
Driving in it stock is the king of “I wish I bought a C5 corvette”
But the C5 is half the price
And it drives better
although im 6'3 so miata is out of the question, my friend had one and sitting passenger was aweful unless roof was down lmao
My RX7 has built suspension and whatnot too
So it’s genuinely more comparable to modern track-ready American cars
Than what it originally was
You’d be surprised
My buddy is 6’5
He loves riding in my ND
Yea his was NB so idk about NC or ND
NA and NB are definitely not designed for taller people
especially if you have tall legs
the NC and ND improve on legroom a lot
The ND is basically the same size as the NA miata
but it has the interior room of an NC
Mazda did such good with the ND because it's TINY despite having way more modern safety features
it's genuinely quite impressive
It's my favorite car
it's the weakest car I own. 900 horsepower less than my most powerful vehicle
and I drive it whenever I can
lmaoooo
thats cool, nice you get to experience cars like tha lol
one day ill get there
For sure. I work unhealthy amounts of hours
and I don't own a house
but it's worth it for the cars
I basically had to choose between a mortgage and cars haha
I did not pick the mortgage
life's too short to spend half of it paying a bank
but I know that's the unpopular opinion 🙃
lmaooo I mean its your money, do what makes you happy 🤙 one thing I will mention tho is house is a pretty ok investment
so might wanna consider it eventually
personally id much prefer a piece of land tho, build a house and big ass garage to work on said cars
I'd like to EVENTUALLY
the main problem is maintaining homes is almost unaffordable
unless you do everything yourself
im not worried about the mortgage
im worried about surprise $20,000 USD bills
thats not even a question
hawt
If you buy a half decent home you should need to do much maintenance
and if you save your money/invest semi decently, you can definitely make it work without any big surprises
That gear lever brings be back when that was cool to have in a car
I wish I had gotten this a decade ago when it was like 2-2.5 grand a reasonable distance from me. It'd be worth 10k more today.
Most things are pretty doable
agreed
great way to save cash, and learn by doing, super useful skills to have
But that's also why having a brand new house makes it so that you'll have less surprises
We commissioned the construction of our house and did the end ourselves
It saved us a few dozens grands
And now we have a brand new house with everything neat that comes with it, like good heat insulation, and maintenance will cost less
Huge thats awesome
Yea id love to build my house one day, really make it my own. Well see if were all still around by that time xD
DCTEE!!
I've always found it weird that back is upshift and forward is downshift
Pretty sure Mopars are the same
Couldn't imagine owning 2 cars that are the opposite and without paddle shifters
Hopefully the computer would prevent bad from happening 🙏🏻
Me inconspicuously passing a cop at 70 mph (my radar went off)
I really like the engineering behind it, I just wish it looked better.
The basic bodylines are nice, but the headlights and taillights are pretty ugly.
At the very least, it'd be nice if they matched eachother somewhat.
I work in construction (albeit not residential but it applies anyways) new builds are often worse than preexisting homes and buildings unfortunately. Quality of work has gone down SO much.
I think it depends on if its a company building a whole bunch of new houses in a new development, or contracting out a single house to be built, like for you. But correct me if im wrong, im not in the industry that was just my perception of it
True that, it’s really up to the general contractor who’s doing the building and subcontracting. In general new construction including industrial and commercial isn’t what it used to be, but typically smaller local builders and contractors are far, far better than the giant, entire neighborhood-building contractors who just build shitty identical boxes as cheap as possible
I didn’t get quite so lucky : (
Bought a radar detector today, got pulled over early this feb too smh
Nooooo
Neat, thanks for the perspective!
I don’t reccomend lol
Ticket fine wasn’t bad it was 150 but four points
Talked my way out of wreckless cuz there was nobody on the roads
I was in the boonies with my buddy “not racing” and of course the single other car headed my direction was a fucking cop, my buddy managed to get outta there but i couldnt
unfortnite
Knowing the right subcontractors can make a world of difference but often that requires already being in the field
Good stuff I was gonna say
Don't have fun unless you can run
Ya see i was trying to be sneaky as possible but I was driving my shitbox (03 malibu). Only reason my buddy got away was because he hit a dirt road and I pulled over because I don’t want a fleeing/evading charge lol
Yeah i know lmao just racing a buddy in a shitbox mercury montego 😂😂
We wanted to see who had the fastest sub 2000$ car which did not play out as planned
It’s sad because it’s my fastest car at the moment too
I did win the turtle race though, the malibu tops out at 107 and his montego doesn’t shift right and never saw triple digits but wow do i need something faster than my hunk of shit
Only gonna get ya in trouble
Gotta be capable of the big numbers
Cops top out at 155
Man them slow ass tahoes can do 155 😭 guess I’m real screwed
😂 thinking my next “shitbox” is gonna be along the lines of a c6 vette
Going to china turbo my 2500hd first though
Solid car
I don't know how it's called in English, but we contracted someone that didn't make the construction but recruited differents construction artisan in our name and made the house
The guy was just a broker and organizer between us and the "normal" construction artisans, he took an explicit and clear share and we were paying directly the workers
So that means this guy didn't have any interest in doing cheap work because his share was not correlated to the work itself
Also, we had full control over every single choice, like plans, materials, specifities etc
Anyone know what this sound could be? Happens when I steer the car.
Before this I had squealing noise when turning but this sounds insanely bad
Also happens when I drive straight..
what car do you have?
2014 vw polo
Doesn't sound great but hard to pinpoint exactly from the video
I'd say it's either suspension or axle
and it happens when you are steering as well as driving straight .Does it happen more when you stear?
Suspension cracked or smt
I went to mechanic and they said smt broke
Only steering*
Broken spring?
I was told it should be fixed under warranty as well
Yes
Thats what he saw I believe
I drove an hour to my dealer and all went good so thank god

The cracking noise disappeared when going over bumps but now I got this issue lol
Maybe a part of the cracked spring was in there and by now it has fallen out?
Or by now the broken off part has shifted away
Idk
The day before I drove but that was just city/highway not many bumps
Then the next morning this
It's a wear part, makes sense it's not under warranty really
That they already want to cover the labour (atleast that's what I understand?) is nice of them
Spring jumping about due to it being broken or top mount properly fucked so not rotating
They said they’ll take a look at the automatic wipers but he thinks they dont exist.
Even though I’ve seen it work lol
Gotta love cars
On my modern cars I broke springs all the time heh, used to that noise
I replaced the front springs on my Saab like every year
You have steering works good?
Nvm they called the warranty company and they said its under warranty thank god
Ye
It’s such a painful noise though
I know the "they arent made like they used to be" is a funny thing but I have never snapped a spring on a car around 40 years / older.
And I launch the 305's I daily drive over speed bumps. all have original springs.
On VW's it's always one pack:
- auto wipers
- auto lights
- auto dimming rear view mirror
So if you have the other 2 it must have rain sensing wipers
I got all yes
I’ve seen it work lol
I tried to convince them as much as I could
It's an argument you can use on them
You either have all of that or non of that
So imlying, you have the other 2 so it must have the 3rd one
Yes
I’m already on my way home though so
Lets hope they realize I do actually have it
Forgot to call for a loaner so now I gotta take bus for 2 hours
Bus 😭
Its been a year since I took bus
I feel poor
😩
Gotta steal parents car now
Poor for riding the bus?
Yes
Must be a city thing lmao, it's don't gotta deal with that
I have one yes but its a 2 hour bus ride so biking wil take the whole day
How slow is the bike?
It can go 25kmh max by law or at least the motor can do 25kmh max
Tuning it to go faster is illegal though
Oh, so not that fast lmao
Nope
Why is it illegal
Is this the US?
Or somewhere else?
Netherlands
Seems unsafe
Probs why its not legal
Nope, many ppl do it here in the US, its hella fun
US is....weird
Na, US is fun 😂
I'm working on a minibike currently
Rebuilt an engine to go into a frame i just recently got
I got this minibike but without thr engine that's in it
This is the pictures from the seller
This is the engine is built, i gotta fix a carburetor issue then it's ready to go
US gives a lot more freedom compared to europe I feel like
Yeah lol
You still gotta get it registered if you want to take it on the main road tho
Which is what I plan to do
@prisma frost is minibikes allowed? You can possibly use one of those
They are sick as hell
That's if you want to do some mechanic stuff
Idk why I would get a minibike when I got a car
Its fun lol
Illegal on public roads
Nice and quiet
For the US, you can get them registered as a motorcycle if you add blinkers, headlights, tail lights and a horn and get it able to go road speeds
Probably cant make it legal here at all
I could imagine
i believe you can get them legal on the road in the netherlands but its gonna have a motorcycle license so nobody does it
That's the same in the US and alot of ppl do it lol. Guess it's just a mindset thing
its expensive to do it so people just buy a road legal gas bike
Its not too bad over here
Minibike parts and stuff is relatively cheap
Like I got my transmission for like 70 bucks
New
Rebuilt my engine for like 200
Got the minibike frame with everything but the engine (i asked the guy to not include it for a price reduction) for 200
So it's not bad where I'm at
David Mazzei with Mazzei Formula presents his revolutionary rotary supercar – a fusion of Italian-American engineering and automotive passion.
In this video, witness the first test drive of David's prototype: a 5-rotor billet turbo rotary engine paired with a sequential 6-speed transaxle, all housed in a sleek mid-engine Superlite coupe chassis....
Matching wheels!
This is INSANE wtffff
thats so sick
Right? I'm not convinced that they're gonna make a production-ready version viable for anything near the cost they claim, but the project itself is so badass I can't help but tip my hat
agreed, It would be so cool if a discovery was made to make rotaries and their apex seals more reliable
its such a cool platform I wish they were more viable mainstream
How do you register it without a vin
Under a no title
But how do you do that
I think it's through the dmv
😐
Idiot
yeah no shit
Annoying nobody sells 13mm 8mm 10mm T pieces, just tidies things up a bit removing the need for reducers with extra points of failure.
I should set up an unsuccessful ebay store selling oddball T pieces
lol
ive made so many weird size fittings, i always need the ones that nobody sells
It always works out that way
Invest in one of those electron beam 3D printers. /s
Ran into some old classmates of mine
Surreal tbh
2 years ago they were squeakers that nobody knew now we all got paper 😭
The RS3 at 19 is insane though that's another level

Not too many cars that can make the SLK340 look slow
kar say vrum
My new project a 94 suburban K2500 that is fully optioned and has minimal rust for its age
Its got one of the best engines too with the best transmission GM to exist 454 and a 4l80e
sick
Its got a ton of hard miles on it so I think the 4l80e transmission might have its days numbered it was used as a scrap truck and towed way over its towing capacity
I literally predicted ts I knew License would mack soon dude is way over confident 😭
Hell yeah big fan of the gmt400 trucks
I’ve got a 98 1500 and have abused the poor thing and it’s been going strong for 30k miles
Mfer was knocking and i added a bit of magic goop and it went away
Sorry for the late reply, but I think this is highly subjective
I went for an ND over any of the other gens because I think it looks far better than any other Miata gen
Don't get me wrong, the NA is a true classic. But I still like the ND more
It's aggressive but not fake/over the top like the Civic Type R for example (particularly the previous gen)
I like the running lights and general design of it
For me personally its only weakness is the tail lights
But I think every miata gen's tail lights are subpar at best
I've been eyeing these Valenti tail lights for my ND as one of the only mods I'll probably do to it
Idiot lmao
Other dude should’ve slowed done tho what a plug xD
The way they do it is so dumb they do not care at all
Passing each other and stuff
That doesn’t even seem like a fun way to die
Just seems reckless in that much traffic
You gotta pick a spot and stay in it
They almost mack every 5 seconds it seems like
And they mack fr like every month
I mean
I love going fast just as much of the next guy
And shit like the cannonball run is awesome, the records that were reached over the pandemic
But when you’re zipping between cars on the interstate
I don’t see how it’s cool, it just seems like a way douches get to scare people just trying to commute home from work
You just gotta be more careful with it
Normally I'd say it's part of the game, sit in the left and middle lane and some people won't bother to slow down for you, but not like they do it
so errmmmmm, i bought some new braided steel brake lines to replace the stock rubber one, but not only did the packaging arrive kinda beat up and with lots of dust on it, the brake lines of the front brakes dont seem like they are brand new to me
rear ones look fine though
Hmmm yea that is a little odd, could it just be a bit of oxidation or something? If you try cleaning them à bit does it all come off pretty easily or nah?
I have not tried that yet, but there is even corrosion inside the bits where the actual brake fluid gets
Probably just shit packaging and storage to be honest
its not crazy bad but just contact the seller probably get some new ones
Packaging was all beat up, and the top is covered in dust
Probably some really old stock
yeah, DOM is mid 2021
so prob got some moisture in the packaging at some point and corroded the ends of the lines
Yea that would check out
which would also explain why its only the front brake lines that got corroded, cuz those were ends down in the packaging, which the rear brake lines where ends up
I have confirmed the 4l80e is failing 3rd and 4th gear are on their way out along with reverse for it being the original transmission and being extremely over worked 233,000 miles isnt too bad but I have seen 4l80e transmissions go way longer than this
no one:
literally no one:
this dude: wide wheel arches go brrrrrrrr
Yeah probably missed a service or two. I have 235ish on my 4l60e and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Just change the fluid lol
Luckily 4l80’s for these trucks are dime a dozen
ruined vette
It is also attached to a 454 this transmission has had 3 full solenoid replacements in its life time but what did her in was the fact of age but most likely the fact the shop that last serviced it put the wrong fluid in it
What did they put in it
They did a flush and they put manual transmission fluid in not automatic its definitely not red and it doesn’t look like worn out automatic transmission fluid
They put gear oil in it???
I'm surprised it was even able to shift
Same but still I have no idea if newer 4l80e transmissions will work in a 94 k2500
Pretty sure 91-94 bolt up to yours, 95 is an odd year, 96-02 are compatible
Or just have it rebuilt tbh rebuild kits are cheap
The Gmt400 forum will be your friend
Saved my ass many a time
