To carry multiple passengers in a vehicle like a shuttle or full bus you need to have a livery license and special insurance as well as a certain business permit. The driver will also need at least a CDL and maybe a chauffer's license as well. Some states/cities also require certifications similar to taxi's

Removing the bracket is the easy bit but I imagine you want to replace the bushing, will need to cut a line through the shell of the existing bushing to help remove it without a press then make some arrangement of plates and a bolt to put the new one into place.

Old diesel ones are reliable enough to not have to do very much, I just enjoy getting them out of fields and fitting bigger turbos

white heart

Price reliability yk

#

And how easy it's to work on

charred depot
#

I believe the 305 is the best chassis but its not really relevant. Get a 205 or 306

white heart
#

They are pretty neat

#

I love old citroen's too but idk how reliable they are

charred depot
#

Older citroens you have to deal with hydropneumatic suspension which isnt inherently unreliable just lots of rubber hoses that will be now aged.

#

"Newer" stuff like the ZX is fine though

white heart
#

I'm currently saving up money for in 1 or 2 years

#

To be able to get a fairly nice car

charred depot
#

Not much if you are just bodging hoses with T pieces but getting original parts these days can be expensive / hard

#

Not fun to work with on cramped engine bays and whatso like on the BX turbo diesel

white heart
white heart
charred depot
#

I would avoid it as your first project or whatever as losing the system means losing brakes aswell as suspension

I have 3 of the "same" car insured at the moment and pay drastically different amounts. This is due to their trim levels which the differences consist of tweed and a glovebox light.

I love the UK, said glovebox light gets you insurance at half the price of the base spec.

#

To add to this my base spec has 5 years no claims bonus with the mid spec having 1 year and is still half the price.

Hey guys, looking at the hybrid Honda Accord (2023 model) as a possible car. Any reviews in particular you'd recommend I check out? This would be my first time buying a car, and I really have no idea what to look for other than the basics. Thanks in advance!

# turbid barn Hey guys, looking at the hybrid Honda Accord (2023 model) as a possible car. Any...

I dont have any review recommendations, apologies. I can say that Honda makes good, reliable vehicles; both my cars, a 2004 and 2007, are Hondas.

Careful with dealerships, they are just there to make money and if they screw you, too bad. I'd recommend looking up stragies for handling them but a few I've heard are to bring a friend, if possible, and know what you want before you go in. A friend of mine was able to talk a dealership down by showing them the same car a city away for a lower price, that kind of thing.

# spark swallow I dont have any review recommendations, apologies. I can say that Honda makes g...

My family has owned a few Hondas in the past, and they've always been reliable enough vehicles. I feel pretty good about my haggling skills, but ill be sure to look up some tactics. Thanks for the advice! One more thing: how much of an advantage would it be for me to get a plug-in hybrid over a regular hybrid? I know that on a plug-in I would probably get better fuel prices overall, due to being able to drive completely electrically, but are there any other advantages or disadvantages that I should be aware of?

#

Also, no warranty. If you're buying fairly new there's good arguments to going to a dealer

turbid barn
#

Interesting

#

I likely wouldn't be buying super soon, likely within the next couple years at the latest

#

How accurate would you say prices online are?

spark swallow
#

More EV driving (as is the case with a plug in) means less wear and tear on your engine too, so probably better reliability overall. Better use the simpler motor rather than the complex gas engine

turbid barn
#

Ah I see. I would say my commute is reasonable. How much of a difference (to my fuel economy) would you say having a plug-in would make?

spark swallow
turbid barn
#

Fair enough. I was using CarGurus as a baseline for price ranges

#

No idea how accurate they are, but the prices seemed reasonable

#

If I'm going for plug-in hybrids, the only reasonable options (other than a prius, which I'd rather not get because, well, its a Prius) are the Kia Optima and the Volvo S60

#

or so it seems to me at least

#

There's also the BMW 530e, but im guessing insurance on that will be a nightmare

spark swallow
# turbid barn Ah I see. I would say my commute is reasonable. How much of a difference (to my ...

Had to do some research on that one.

Side note, apparently Honda doesn't sell a plug in hybrid Accord in the US (booo). (Oh, you said a similar thing while I was composing lol)

Anyway, the difference in the cost to drive / fuel economy will depend a lot on how expensive your electricity is.

For example, the hybrid accord gets, say 40 mpgs. Say your work commute is 40 miles round trip and you do about that 6 days of the week. So in a week you use about 6 gallons of gas.

If your plug in gets 20 miles before using the engine and your charge every night, then you use just 3 gallons every week but you also have a higher electric bill. In AZ where I live it's about 20 cents per kWh and say that 20 miles of range comes from a 7kWh battery. So that 7x0.2x6=$8.40 on top of the fuel cost.

Obviously the specifics will change the numbers but hopefully that gives you a structure hope analyze that.
