No I dont think I will
Do you know of RVAE34? I believe that's his IG handle
its E38 on IG https://www.instagram.com/rvae38/
used to talk to him a b it on forums
He has had some cool cars
yah lsx
I feel like everytime I ask if you know someone, its never "no" lmao
ha yeah I've been around
That LSX swapped car was kind of cool but the engine was cursed
man he sold this too. damn those looked good
Some magazine or similar built the engine for their publication and he knew someone - engine turned out to have issues though
I vaguely remember reading about that way back
yah he had an e63 wagon too or something
heavily modifed E55
yeah the s/c cars are kind of a let down
Such a shame about the shitty gearboxes
neat, but meh
I hate to say it but I'm not a fan of wagons
Enough to make me mad that Audi never made a sedan C7 RS6
Couldn't catch me driving an Avant
Thanks. I hate it.
why, its perfect use of heat
why waste it into atmosphere when you can cook your burger
and even burn it if youre not carefull, exhaust gets real hot
I rather throw on a Peltier cooler.
what
thats not a thing to make use of excess heat with
its not like you generate electricity from that lol
Lets add this system to our exhaust to create electricity from heat
Sure
I found this bus in a scrapyard in near perfect condition, is it worth buying?
i'm told it runs too
the only damage to it seems to be 1 (one) broken window
interior is in good condition too, just needs some vacuuming and a steam cleaning
Now the question is why would you need a bus
I want to solve this transit issue by me
there is usally traffic on sr 522 and there is no easy way to get to woodinville from monroe by transit (unless you get up super early and take the 424 but aint no one doing that)
i know for a fact that a LOT of people travel between these two towns and beyond so i think i would make a great deal of money off of this
no lol
unless its for like 500
i think they wanted $2k for it
which is reasonable because it is in good condition
when i was there the other day the dude showing me it kept talking about the engine
maintenance is expensive
how long has it been sitting like that?
at least 5 years, that bus was retired in 2016
i'm going back to the scrapyard soon to get more photos
do not the
it must be rusted to hell
thats why im going back soon to inspect it further
take your time and grope every inch of that thing
just to make sure theres no rust underneath the normal looking panel
cant make sure without touching
i really hope that thing works fine
at the very least i hope it works with minimal repairs
it can't be worse than this other bus they have
what
just read
thought the one u plan to was this then i read lol
nah hell naw i'd go bankrupt trying to fix that thing
lol
in case you are curious the scrapyard i'm talking about is All About Auto Wrecking in Snohomish, WA
im half a world away from usa so eh, not much value to the scrapyard location lol
mb
you should visit seattle sometime its an alright city
among other things here, we have the world's 1st and 2nd most longest floating bridges
not much usa plans for not, brazil got the priority

does it wobble
no
phew
nice, always good to see different transportation styles in same road
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_Line_(Sound_Transit) in case you're interested
The 2 Line, also known as the East Link Extension, is a light rail line serving the Eastside region of the Seattle metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Washington. It is part of Sound Transit's Link light rail system and runs for 6.6 miles (10.6 km) in the cities of Bellevue and Redmond. The initial segment serves eight stations between South ...
what kinda overheads/permits would you need though
idk if it'd be viable
as far as im aware, CDL and license plate
cute looking train
it was made by kinkisharyo
japanese company
but yes i agree cute train
based
looks way better than the siemens s700s
right, just look at it blushing
what does washing mashine company do on the rails
Can you legally just start bussing 20+ people around for money?
Don't you need some kind of license for that business or otherwise?
Bro gonna message Uber and be like "yo I got a new service idea..."
Busses are cool though I'd definitely buy one but not for bussing people around
Now that I'm thinking about it that's actually not a bad idea for Uber to try out a bussing service. People could just pay through the app and scan a barcode or something when they get on to verify they paid.
I've been to that place when I lived in Seattle.
To carry multiple passengers in a vehicle like a shuttle or full bus you need to have a livery license and special insurance as well as a certain business permit. The driver will also need at least a CDL and maybe a chauffer's license as well. Some states/cities also require certifications similar to taxi's
i won't give up on my dream that easily
This will fire up no problem
aint no way, you gotta be fuckin with me
Sarcasam
Meets in 10 degrees be the most Minnesotan thing
Im calling the cops
I woke up from ur loud bangs! This is unacceptable big bro
Woopsies
Reminding me of a cheat code in Age of Empires.
Is that a motherfucking cobra
You bet'cha.
Insanely based cheat code
Just washed the car, and a trip to the car was around 800m and it took me 10 minutes
I went back to the scrapyard to take photos of all that's wrong with the bus
first off, busted tail lights
i took a photo of the engine bay, looks fine to me but what do I know about engines
also, a photo of what I think is the engine cooling system
a bit mossy but that's nothing scraping it off with a flathead screwdriver won't fix
broken window 1/2
I don't know if the wheel is supposed to be like this, but the middle axle wheels seem to be "sucked in"
wait i think i know what's wrong there
maybe there's supposed to be another tire there?
anyway, broken window 2/2
and a missing roof hatch
the driver's area looks like this
most likely will need to have some electrical work done, some switches are missing
Some random guy in Germany liked my GT7 picture before I even was able to save it on my computer...
From what I can see, looks pretty complete. This might actually run if you give it some diesel and batteries
@compact grotto the best model
the best
ehhhhhh if I have that car its going to the dealership
they can deal with it
Just sucks overall
GT3 Touring.
If I ever get a GT3 it'll be a touring or I'll deck swap a stock 911
Ah yes the GT3 Touring, the only car in automotive history to use the touring name CORRECTLY
It is not a trim package that equates to 'sport, but with no carbon fiber and more comfort options', it is not the estate version of a high performance sedan, it is a comfortable high performance vehicle or a comfortable version of a high performance vehicle
I don't know how but this is the first I've seen of one of these in the wild.
heh - i was just there today
lol. that was thursday night leaving work, forgot I snapped that
yeah i figured
Stg the meets I go to now are populated with people who have 0 social experience outside of those exact car meets
Reminiscent of middle school robotics club 😳
weird to see this type of porche with no wing
Touring version.
So it has the GT3 engine, and a manual. And softer suspension compared to the winged ones.
yeah ik but still weird to look at anyway
I believe the first one from 911 to start it was the 911R. But that was more hardcore, compared to the Tourings.
Good shit.
Just sucks that people bought it, only to flip them.
I think porsche is funny
Every one looks the same but somehow one is some special edition costing half of a small apartment while the other one is like 90k or something
The Cayenne saved Porsche. tbh
Wearing my glasses at work: X
Wearing my glasses for erands: X
Wearing my glassesat home: X
Wearing my glasses when playing GT7: O
Looks the same
How tf does one get a car at 14
Good lord
You're allowed to drive it ?
Law
Kinda

real
Do you live in the Balkans
It’s clearly amazing
Unless there is some kind of half tonne flywheel inside my drivetrain, i have trouble beleiving my car would spin out from a stationary position with my foot off the throttle. But i dont have a license...so meh
Stalker 2, rear engine car. Something is out of place.
Unless old Soviet designs had the brake master and booster in the rear and connected by some sort of linkage...
I don't think they even had boosted brakes
lol, fair
somebody screwed that one up, probably took a car and flipped the headlights and taillights LOL
almost certainly what they did
Greece 🇬🇷, so yeah I do
Aw man.
Can’t park there
do u know the owner?

Fake Matty Boy
Don't remember if I ever posted this here or not
Had speakers from first Gen Ford Focus, so I've made speakers columns with them
Front making clunking noise when decelerating / coasting and also turning
Any ideas what it could be?
Springs looks fine, haven't checked the tie rod yet
or would it be caused by a bad cv joint?
Is your car FWD?
any wheel shake?
it is indeed a fwd,
And no, no wheel shake
The whel isn't sloppy either
it's straight on, it only knocks / thuds when I'm decelerating
or coasting
but much worse when turning on either direction
i'd check to see if any of your bushings in the front end are torn
Why the fuck does this exist, and why is it in Illinois
volvo
some dude was apparently bored
so he pulled out a volvo from the flooded area
and put it there
then removed sand around
that mini statue of liberty near harrisburg in PA
every weird thing start with someone being hella bored
yeah I'd check it out, but it's legit making me question my sanity

@compact grotto this is the most amazing thing I've seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JewKW8igG04

garage 54 man, theyre doing the wildest shit as always
wut the heeell
We have all sorts of busses around here.
Some places even have busses that drive themselves.
edinburgh user spotted
I love it
so far this is like how to do this in the most janky way possible
I take that back. After looking at other vehicles modified with woodgas generators, everyone is janky
Just the average drive to work...
Colin Furze did something similar with a lawnmower
I mean...
the cup is not empty
only a single 15
this is just one of the skar sundown clones
it came with the car
i would not spend my own money on skar
Just some old stuff from when my dad ripped stuff out of cars at the dealership he worked at
Older than me
i want a double din in this car but my dsp control would have to be relocated
I use their amp power wire cuz it was like dirt cheap 😭
i am very happy that i did not pay for the wiring in this car
it's 1/0 awg run to the trunk and then split to the amps
fused at 300a then 100a on the splits
i don't think the last owner of this car knew the value of the sound system
the audison dsp is nearly $1000
Fancy
then the amps, wiring, door speakers, tweeters, etc.
the super duty i used to have had two sundown 12s
those were just 1200w rms combined
they sounded a little cleaner than the skar but were not nearly as loud
and for a skar this doesn't sound that bad
feel free to ping me, im just looking for advice. im thinking of trying to get a reliable small manual truck... i was considering a late 80's early 90's Chevy s-10. specifically short cab long bed with the 2.8 and 4x4 if i can. ive already seen a few listings in fact so i know finding them wont be much of an issue. basically, im here to ask, is it a bad idea? and what are the pros and cons of the truck? i owned a '96 and loved it, so i figure...'
cons:
likelihood of rot and being roached
change the oil frequently and use good oil and you'll be fine
Assuming you can find a nice one
rot makes sense ima look for that, what does roached mean lmao
beaten up
gotcha
like fucked up / poorly maintained
so like everything from the interior to the visual quality of the exterior to the wear on the motor / suspension
right right. well, im definitely going to be pretty picky with it. i need it to last me so...
also remember it's 35+ years old so stuff will break
sure. anything in particular thats known to break on them often?
i'm not sure
I'm not super into S10s, that's just what I know based on general experience
ah well, i do appreciate the advice so far
Ok @cloud lance outside of the Warthog model, this is somewhat neat. Theme wise.
I still hate it with the fire of 1000 suns.
holy moly
but i dig the theme
solid look
next we need a biotechnica
lool
I see what they were going for lol
Cyberpunk référence ? Noice
Pretty cool ngl
Put it next to a soke new BMW SUVs or a Hyundai Ionic 5 and I'd go attack Araska tower myself
Aygo
ah, close enuff
I've kinda got the same thing, but it's a Peugeot 107
B u s! 👀
nice, i prefer aygo tbh, cuter
If I recall from a racing series of these the Citroen C1 is the "best" variant to have
Lemme see if I can find some
The citroens work out lighter for whatever reason I think
true
but aygo is cuter, also sounds gayer
Whats the straight one?
Uk busses the most unreliable vehicle known to man
i meant gayer than 107
Depends. Some are better than others
I dont live in a very populated area and there is a stagecoach broken down every week heh
Whats the biggest thing you guys have driven? (As in on roads, not just in a small area)
A friend of mine drives busses and mentioned once that the coolant and screenwash IBC's were mixed up so they ended up topping off the coolant with screenwash. I wondered why drivers were even having to top off coolant their response was just "shit busses"
That award goes to the Gemini 3 B5TL with Lothian AKA bone ratters by drivers
perhaps
I remember going on Sanders ones I think
They were alright tbh
They look like streetdecks
Just not as shit
Well ik the smallest thing I've driven so far
Volvos are known for coolant leaks in Scotland
My own car :p
The forecourt at the depot near me has enough oil on the floor to get the US interested ._.
Only been in a street deck once with go north east on the X10 from Middlesbrough was to focused with editing videos on my laptop at the Apple and trolling people with the Lothian announcements
First worcester once had a bunch
lol
They leak diesel everywhere aswell I dont understand how, I almost Jukes of Hazzarded a roundabout after one left a massive trail
The biggest vehicle I've driven so far is a B7RLE Wright Eclipse Urban
Which funnily enough is older than I am :p
Smallest before going to 2 wheels is probably a reliant robin and biggest probably a Peugeot 505 estate.
It's okay but a bit shit going uphill
Sexy fuckers they are lovey buses have one in the borders and ever driver in the depot says it’s their favourite bus in the depot BK10 MFP
The B7RLE in question is a training bus :p
Wait your a driver
When I was in high school they always gave us the worst busses, we had bays they went into forwards and quite often they would either not be able to engage reverse or would just dump all their coolant on the ground.
Lil older than I am
Yes, but a trainee rn
I remember some of the busses having pre 2001 plates and this was in 2016
@feral patrol i know this is a long shot but you might know of my pals
He’s from Dundee he’s well known in the community
95% of other bus enthusiast I know know him
He’s sound
Does the name Stefan ring a bell
Bus is from 05. I'm from 06
Idk...
I’m from 06 as well
September
Ahh fair
Can’t lie I love our night buses here @feral patrol do yous have any down there
No Gemini 3 B5LH
?
Also I don't think first has B5LHs
First worcester is the stop before the scrapyard
Many agree
The state of the buses
I know stagecoach have them on 400mmcs
Ahh
The newest bus here is a 65 plate...
F
Would you say that they are "bussin' "?
We just got some very shitty made BZL DD 74 plates
Here's one of the two 65 plates
Quite literally falling apart first day in service
E200
Our BZL DDs are a massive disappointment
Fuck
Try convincing them to buy some ex Lothian
The gearboxes on some of the e400s is crap
Like that's ever gonna happen
I know but be better then what yous have
All ik rn is e400s from Manchester and e200s from Bath I think
Who bath got from Swansea
Which is where we also got many of the e200s we have now
We’re getting rid of some old Geminis B9TLs 841-850 I believe
Used to have mostly streetlites here
Some of em were fine
Bloody hate them
Some were awful
Nah all streetshites are shite
They're kinda about the same as e200s at tomes tbh
Nah there were a few alright ones
SN14 EAJ is one I remember being good
Because it had work done to it at some stage
Best one I’ve been on is a go north east one in Sunderland and even that was quite bad
Good night
wait whys that word written so simply, it shouldve been worcestershire
Worcester is the city, worcestershire is the county
ah
97 Celica of mine
Correct :p
Chat, is this the real 300CE 6.0 Hammer Coupe?
How would we know?
I don't know. Maybe some experts can tell the difference between the real one and not?
I haven't even heard the engine yet.
ask to the car owner
At least they’re self aware
I have no guts to ☠️
lol
lmao
what's y'all opinion on Hyundai
Not terrible?
i guess lol
They are pretty cool now
sue the city
why does it look yummy, that damn lightning
File an insurance claim.
That can legit be something the city could have to pay for.
I'm planning to make a claim against the state
Thsts why I went back to take a pic
It was a state highway
I've heard of people having success with getting their repairs paid for
Hopefully at least the wheel and alignment will be covered
Speaking of ruining highways.
It's me.
Totally not me weighing 32+ tonnes on three axles.
Or 71,000 lbs for you Americans.
Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
Weekly Dose of Automotive Stuff #154
(previous episodes can be found here: @CarMighty )
What is Automotive Stuff about?
Basically anything that has an engine or wheels, I don't know what there is to explain to be honest.
Any questions, suggestions or do you want to get in touch?
Shoot me an email, which you can find in the channel descriptio...
jeeeeep and jep
They developed some pretty cool stuff back in the day
Like the Mitsubishi 4G63/Hyundai G4CR engine
Used in the eclipse, galant, talon. Think it was in the Elantra maybe for Hyundai
Nvm just took a look, it was in the sonata and some others
Gemini 2 and 3 side by side today
Their BK2 engines are alright, my buddy has a 2014 2.0t genesis, he likes it quite a bit. Doesn't drive his car crazy hard, blew the engine (three times 😂 he got bad luck with replacements, but they were under warranty)
they make decent power and sound nice. If you want a decent, fun first car to learn manual or whatever, you can get a genny for fairly cheap and theyre alright
Aint got nothing on Honda though 😈
Seeing doubledeckers on two axles is weird.
I’m gonna guess some Volvo 97-900DD not sure which is which don’t think it is a 9700DD
Ain’t got nothing on Toyota
Need to find a 4AGE 20V
1.9 tdi is superior
This motorcycle won’t fall over! Yep, Honda created a motorcycle that you can sit on, even stopped, and you don’t need to stick a leg out to stay upright. Short fellas rejoice. How does it work? Surprisingly, there are no gyroscopes involved; it’s all done with a combination of steer-by-wire and an adjustable trail length. A bike’s trail length ...
This new hydrogen fuel cell has a turbo charger to increase its power!

how much work would it be to replace the mount bracket (#4) on a volvo v70? Both of Mine seem to have rusted through
Not needed just let it rust more 😄
Well I got my learner license everyone, finally able to drive with a parent in the car
Wow my 1.2tsi sounds so good totally
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/f6MsKs0noqs?feature=share rare sight of nascar being funny (but still boring cus save movement for 50 times
)
what does the si stand for
Turbo Stratified Injection
Idk what it means but very cool
tsi sounds cooler than what it stands for, thats for sure
lol
At least I got a turbo 😄 Meaning one more expensive part that needs replacement
The local busses have more of a traditional design to them.
I see the Bruce Wilson videos on the Scania, and it just pains me.
Each and every step along the way.
Enviro 400EV Gen 2
Cancer mirrors. (aka, digital mirrors)
I like Toyota a lot, dont get me wrong, Canada just didn’t get a ton of cool models so it’s a lot harder/more expensive to find decent engines/chassis. In my opinion Honda is the king of budget builds, and the K’s and B’s make great first builds for people wanting to learn. Very simple platform to learn, tons of info and parts out there
More understandable for long distance busses. Where you actually care about the air drag.
That is very true
Drivers I know at borders buses have told me about how dangerous they are on the demo they had and Stagecoach having to replace their 9700DDs camera mirrors with normal mirrors
Free + cost of parts if you do it yourself 😎😎
Friend of mine had a 96 coupe with a B16B
See then all the time here
Niiiice 😎 that’s sick, just finished my Kswap civic, was a super fun project, would recommend to anyone interested 👍👍
There's an early(?) Mercedes truck around my area that has both camera, and normal mirrors.
Makes you wonder if they added the normal mirrors after the fact. Or if it was a test mule before it was sold off.
It’s funny actually, right after I finished my build, the MCM/Linus/vtec academy collab build they did on the dudes civic was the same y/m/m as mine, so it was really cool to see a group of pro’s do what I did, but properly and with a proper budget 😂
Nissan 240?
You do see it with some of stagecoachs
Ye
Ouuuu have any pics? Love that chassis
I thought Volvo 240 at first.
It was a 50/50, glad I guessed right 😂
Is that the 180 technically? The “hatchback”
Ahh I see I see, super nice build tho
I wish I had the money for a 240, but I also don’t have a garage to winter store and wouldn’t want to ruin it, so gonna wait till I’m older to own one
What engine? Not an SR I assume?
Nice living in a warm climate area where it’s driving season year round
Haha yea that’s the dream 😛
And yeah it’s the KA24
Although who knows, with global warming maybe Canada will become like that in due time 😂
Nice, how is it? All you really hear about is the SR but I’m curious how you find the KA
Lol, sometimes I wished it snowed so I could drive the Celica in it
I will admit snow is fun to slide around FWD cars, but the cold gets boring pretty quick haha
i think it runs smooth, although it is an auto so it takes some of the fun out but great to drive nonetheless
Pretty easy to work on too
Alternator, power steering, etc is not too hard to access
Fair enough, nice to hear!
That’s always a plus, hard to work on cars just suck the fun out of it, cuz no way I’m taking it to a mechanic but fuuuuuu-
yep
I’m hoping 4AGE swapping the Celica won’t be difficult
all the engine mounts are in the same spot cause it’s a AT200 Celica
That would be a sick build, 4AGE is an awesome engine I wish they were not common haha
yeah 4AGE 20V Blacktop is my plan
Not familiar with celica models lemme google it real quick
Oh nice it’s like a cuter SC300 😂
Interesting, what’s the difference?
the AT200 having an A series and the ST204 having an S series
A and S series have different mounting points so I went with a 4AGE
Instead of having to modify the frame and all that
Smart
A series are better in my opinion anyways
Makes sense and probably for an easier build
Agreed, ive never had an AWD car (this civic is my first) but I’d love to have one, just makes the power so much more usable for à daily (unless you wanna drift the daily lol)
With enough power you can slide the AWD lol
Yeah but I want an idea of the complexity of the job. Seems like it could be fairly simple just a bushing and 2 bolts but idk
Part is like £40 each which ain't bad
Removing the bracket is the easy bit but I imagine you want to replace the bushing, will need to cut a line through the shell of the existing bushing to help remove it without a press then make some arrangement of plates and a bolt to put the new one into place.
Or see if there is poly bushes
@charred depot you own old french cars right
Maybe
Yeah u do I just remembered
Question
How much does fixing them and keeping them on the road cost ?
Not much but I do everything myself
Theoretically every single wear item has been replaced on my maroon saloon and wouldnt be more than £2k
Mind if I ask you some more questions
Thats every hose, bushing, shock, top mounts, engine, gearbox clutch etc.
Mhm
Idk shit about mechanics sadly
Though I'd be willing to learn
I kinda want to buy an 90s french car
But uhh
I have some doubts
Old diesel ones are reliable enough to not have to do very much, I just enjoy getting them out of fields and fitting bigger turbos
Which one would you recommend
Like overall
Price reliability yk
And how easy it's to work on
I believe the 305 is the best chassis but its not really relevant. Get a 205 or 306
I really like the 205 ngl
They are pretty neat
I love old citroen's too but idk how reliable they are
Older citroens you have to deal with hydropneumatic suspension which isnt inherently unreliable just lots of rubber hoses that will be now aged.
"Newer" stuff like the ZX is fine though
How expensive it is to replace ? Just wondering
I'm currently saving up money for in 1 or 2 years
To be able to get a fairly nice car
Not much if you are just bodging hoses with T pieces but getting original parts these days can be expensive / hard
Not fun to work with on cramped engine bays and whatso like on the BX turbo diesel
Mhm
Honestly if I have to replace parts I'm prolly not going with originals
Prolly a bad decision to try and get an old one for a first car but hey money will come back the feeling won't
I would avoid it as your first project or whatever as losing the system means losing brakes aswell as suspension
not fun
something simple like a 205 would be best
Just first car in general
Plenty of parts too
Well
Thank you for the advices man
I'll start looking
I really like 90s car in general
They are pretty reliable right?
Also genuine question
Is there anything with Renault super 5
Why are they so cheap
Loads of different engine options but the diesels are very good
Petrols are ok aswell if that is a requirement
I don't have much experience with Renaults to be honest I prefer Peugeot / Citroens way of doing things drivetrain wise.
Fair enough
I'll try to find one then
Are they easier or something? I know they're a bit stiffer
They dont get pressed in, thats why alot of people install them despite not really caring about any "performance" benefits.
Hmmm sounds a bit tempting
I had to make moulds for my rear subframe mounts on my 305 saloon as couldnt get the originals.
Seems these ain't that bad price wise
Single handedly keeping the UKs Peugots on the road 😅
180 side skirts coming soon
sick
rollbar of that volvo gave up trying
If my car gets snapped by a speeding camera and the ticket goes to an address im not at anymore, how do i know if i got a ticket?
What yall think about my mercedes knalta?

Here in the UK is a legal requirement for you to keep the address up to date in itself so if it catches up to you eventually it wont be good.
Vroom
5.9
Imma add a turbo to it dont ya worry
Cute
o
why didnt i get notification to that great news
smh, stupid discord

now that is a flamey 740
We shud get linus to drive a canta
Let's start a petition
Always nice to see where Mercedes peaked
Based
Its a canta
I happened to have a mercedes badge
ah
i thought mercedes owns canta or smth so badge was lore correct addition
wouldve been cool ngl
Ngl kinda funny the name mercedes knalta cause plenty that dont know about cantas will be like that shiz real?
lol
Guys. Is a 20T strap overkill?
depends, whats it gonna be used for
Safety strap to hold the bed if shit were to happen.
Basically.
Strap is strong enough to hold the whole bed, along with the material in it.
yeh yeh
its not that steep so it should hot it
i doubt those attachment points are rated for 20t so they will likely break first lol
Naahh man grab the biggest one u can buy online

"Margin of safety"
This one had to be custom ordered.
Not really something they keep in stock.
So u can get bigger ones lel
Oh, for sure.
They had a normal round sling that were good for 20 tonnes.
But you generally just move up to chains, unless you have to use soft slings.
I have 3 of the "same" car insured at the moment and pay drastically different amounts. This is due to their trim levels which the differences consist of tweed and a glovebox light.
I love the UK, said glovebox light gets you insurance at half the price of the base spec.
To add to this my base spec has 5 years no claims bonus with the mid spec having 1 year and is still half the price.
if i've only got 93 octane available and my car calls for 91, it's fine to put 93 in it right?
well it recommends 91
god I love him
Higher always works.
The 91 is just the minimum.
figured as much. it's a NC Miata. is it "worth" to throw 93 in it, or should i save the extra little bit and put 89 in it? idrc either way, just want to know before i put 89 in it and fuck it up
also that's prob a silly question, sorry
literally have only driven economobiles up until this car
The only reason I throw higher octane in my E46 is because I want the lower ethanol content. Here the lower octane stuff has E10, higher octane is E5.
i'm taking that as a "89 would be fine, you can throw 93 in it if you want"...?
At least the lowest the vehicle calls for. So 91 in your case.
Here in Sweden we just have 95 and 98 RON.
Which is different from what USA uses. But 95 RON is the same as 91 in USA.
getting the car in about two-ish weeks, and am trying to cover all my bases
Make sure that you have somewhat decent tires. Since they are the only thing between you and the asphalt.
Make sure to sand your tires for better traction, turn them into drag slicks 😏

Dr house can be so annoying or funny or both
Friends E23 7 series, spring seat broke and damaged the tyre
Welded back up heh
Should have probably taken it apart and removed the shock insert but eh can replace the shock if its hooped at a later date
Nice looks solid! Was it a tough weld or not too bad?
weld was after, picture was just getting it back into place but was thoroughly re-attached heh
Should really replace it but getting one is probably going to take a bit and an immobilised vehicle is a pain so its a temporary permanent fix
Yea that’s totally fair, temporary fix is better than no fix
If it’s temporary and it works, it’s permanent
Merry crysler
its a fancy enough car to warrant spending a bit of money on but eh
Man I’d love to own a nice car but I’m really hesitant/would feel guilty not storing it in the winter… need to get a house or atleast à place with an indoor garage ASAP

2nd time ☕
No, if I get a nice car im only driving it during the summer. Here in Canada the snow and sand/salt combo is awful for rust. I would hate to ruin a car that I could have preserved
Id much rather drive a winter beater during the winter months, especially since id really like AWD for the winter, but dont need it during summer
kind of just works well for where I live
Just clean the car properly after each drive on salted roads
Get a good lift and a pressure washer
… that’s a lot more work and effort than just storing it lol
Like I could sure but why?
Also an unnecessary use of water and electricity 😏
because you get to enjoy it while you drive
instead of staring at it each morning with your coffe
you have bigger things to worry when you have a project car like that 240sx
not 20$ a month bill increase on water and electricity combined 😂
That’s ok, I would enjoy the car more during summer months regardless so it’s a system that would work well for me 🙂
but winter drifting is more fun than summer
Get a welder and just live with your car turning into a patchwork quilt as time goes on
its fun!!

This is true. Not saying I would never take it out, I just think I would feel too guilty dailying a nice car in the winter lol, and too inconvenient to lift and wash it after every drive
But taking it out/washing it once in a while would be chill
jfc, minus the decals this is perfection spec. Uderberg green 911 S/T.
Yea u was gonna say, super nice, but I could definitely go without the decals lol
Did you take the pictures? They look amazing
Oh, definitely not. Shamelessly taken from /r/porsche
why police on crimmas
Always see alot of drunk drivers out this time every year, must be easy pickings for them.
Atleast you’re honest 😂😂 thanks for sharing tho

Also made a meme to go with it
What did mans do to get muted
I honestly quite like the look of the hatchback mazda 3's, idk how they are mechanically though, do people build the engines on these things? Hows the aftermarket?

Do need to not lock up, more problematic since I drive 2 of these one with vacuum assistance and one without.
Thats why people shouldn't let other cars who dont even have priority go imo
They rush and miss a car

Is there a decent privacy respecting 0-60 Android application?
I was looking to see if my car supported adaptive headlights and found out my car supports the Android Debug Bridge.
11 hours later, it’s done
It’s not fully perfect tho, I think working at literally 3am did my head in a bit (it’s 3:33am rn) and I may have poorly built some parts but it looks pretty good, mostly
I had a car meme I was gonna share the other day but I forgot and now idr where the meme is

I wanna add wireless charging to my 2024 chevy Colorado but dont know which charger i want to get for it. I preferably want a low profile solution.
Very nice
I got also got Legos that make cars
What a beauty
Thanks 🙏🙏
Alr hypothetical time.
You can only drive one car for the rest of your life. This vehicle would never need fueled, maintained, and will never cost you anything to run.
What do you drive?
Celica GT4
Well I thought the pothole just bent my wheel but it turns out a coilover is snapped at the top

Audi R8, ik it’s soooo impractical and “slow” in modern day standards BUT, it’s just addictive and beautiful
Clapped 1999 Honda Civic 4dr Sedan running on 3 cylinders
No but on a more serious note, a 4dr R34. It’s a fun car, can be built, just the right amount of tech, and practical enough cuz 4door
Prohub?
Well the dyno wasn't the reason to post (look at the front wheels) but its a Mainline ProHub.

Hey guys, looking at the hybrid Honda Accord (2023 model) as a possible car. Any reviews in particular you'd recommend I check out? This would be my first time buying a car, and I really have no idea what to look for other than the basics. Thanks in advance!
I dont have any review recommendations, apologies. I can say that Honda makes good, reliable vehicles; both my cars, a 2004 and 2007, are Hondas.
Careful with dealerships, they are just there to make money and if they screw you, too bad. I'd recommend looking up stragies for handling them but a few I've heard are to bring a friend, if possible, and know what you want before you go in. A friend of mine was able to talk a dealership down by showing them the same car a city away for a lower price, that kind of thing.
My family has owned a few Hondas in the past, and they've always been reliable enough vehicles. I feel pretty good about my haggling skills, but ill be sure to look up some tactics. Thanks for the advice! One more thing: how much of an advantage would it be for me to get a plug-in hybrid over a regular hybrid? I know that on a plug-in I would probably get better fuel prices overall, due to being able to drive completely electrically, but are there any other advantages or disadvantages that I should be aware of?
I’d personally try buying one second hand, but then too you need to know what to look out for
*from à private seller
Why from a private seller?
No tax
Ah I see
Wouldn't that requre me to pay in full though?
I suppose I could take out a loan, but id like to avoid that if possible
It does, it's definitely riskier
Also, no warranty. If you're buying fairly new there's good arguments to going to a dealer
Interesting
I likely wouldn't be buying super soon, likely within the next couple years at the latest
How accurate would you say prices online are?
I think that's the main advantage of a plug in vs a non plug in. With a plug in most of your energy will come from electricity (assuming a reasonable commute) where as a non plug in hybrid all your energy comes from gas - the hybrid system just uses that energy more efficiently, effectly.
More EV driving (as is the case with a plug in) means less wear and tear on your engine too, so probably better reliability overall. Better use the simpler motor rather than the complex gas engine
Ah I see. I would say my commute is reasonable. How much of a difference (to my fuel economy) would you say having a plug-in would make?
That one I have no idea on, but I assume they don't show taxes and fees up front
Fair enough. I was using CarGurus as a baseline for price ranges
No idea how accurate they are, but the prices seemed reasonable
If I'm going for plug-in hybrids, the only reasonable options (other than a prius, which I'd rather not get because, well, its a Prius) are the Kia Optima and the Volvo S60
or so it seems to me at least
There's also the BMW 530e, but im guessing insurance on that will be a nightmare
Had to do some research on that one.
Side note, apparently Honda doesn't sell a plug in hybrid Accord in the US (booo). (Oh, you said a similar thing while I was composing lol)
Anyway, the difference in the cost to drive / fuel economy will depend a lot on how expensive your electricity is.
For example, the hybrid accord gets, say 40 mpgs. Say your work commute is 40 miles round trip and you do about that 6 days of the week. So in a week you use about 6 gallons of gas.
If your plug in gets 20 miles before using the engine and your charge every night, then you use just 3 gallons every week but you also have a higher electric bill. In AZ where I live it's about 20 cents per kWh and say that 20 miles of range comes from a 7kWh battery. So that 7x0.2x6=$8.40 on top of the fuel cost.
Obviously the specifics will change the numbers but hopefully that gives you a structure hope analyze that.
Awesome! Thanks for breaking it down for me. As someone who doesn't deal with cars much, a lot of this is like a black box to me.
Hey, the new prius looks sharp imo but I get it
Sure thing! Happy to share what knowledge and/or vibes I have
I happen to agree, I just feel like there are better-looking options, and if I can get one of those, I'd rather do so
Yeah, you gotta look at the thing every day. Might as well enjoy the view
well-said
I think I've decided that the Accord is probably my best bet. Even if it costs a bit more to run, I don't enjoy the interior of the Volvo S60, and the Kia just doesn't seem like that great of an option.
Volvo 850r
Porsche 918 spyder
Small country roads are the best (The ones in picture not rlly small)
You can also use Kelly Blue Book for a good reference point
I've been thinking about replacing my E46 now that it's starting to get up there in age, have had it for almost 10 years
Kind of looking at the 1 series, or something along those lines.
Maybe BEV even.
fiats arem cute
oil temp added, was meant to be blue so did end up looking down at one point like omg overheating!
You saying that made me laugh.
Because there's really just two models that Fiat has.
Looking at used vehicles is pain.
It's the whole "You have five different options. But you're only able to select three of them."

Yep

Move onto a E36
Rather just keep a E46. Much better build quality overall.
And the E36 is even older. So even more possible issues.
older = less possible issues :^)
Sick hellcat bro
I miss my first car, sitting with my trailers with a full widebody kit waiting to get installed
damn someone makes 6 figures a year
They are/were, now they don't even exist anymore
M5 threw a drivetrain malfunction warning after idling to temperature

surely this is a coil or sparkplug issue and nothingmore....
Sounds like BMW ecu complaining. Rip it out and replace your "modern and good" direct injection with a carb.
whoever can name this car gets a cookie :)
@pearl mica
can you name that car?
:D
i dont got a license yet
but thinking of getting one
looks like a lancer
what year you think?
