I have issues 🙃

hexed kayak
#

they all do

grand garnet
#

So ignition coil is getting no power, distributer getting no power, wires coming into ignition coil getting no power. But all else works fine

tepid wing
#

Sounds like an old enough car where you should be able to find the schematics and troubleshooting guides.

grand garnet
#

Just replaced ignition module, but thats not the issue. It ran fine before i parked it, next day rolls around and it needs jumped, cranks no start

tepid wing

Huh, that sounds like quite the conundrum then.

hexed kayak
#

if it does your new part died if it doesnt you have a wiring issue

Ignition coil isnt sending spark

Put there also isnt any power coming into it either.

but seriously anything could be causing it. your gonna have to start checking voltage on wires

grand garnet

45k miles, 30 yrs old

Its got no power coming into the ignition module

#

It started when i ran outa juice after leaving exterior lights on

Came back in the morning to start it, battery dead

Wait…

I may know the issue

On the starter solenoid I did not have it grounded to the battery. When I was fixing the generator that wire melted off, but now everything works and i'm back to being on the road again!

Has there been any news on Tesla supporting Chevy on the Supercharger network?

tepid wing
#

Doesn't look like it.

compact grotto
#

Ford does, currently.

tepid wing

Tesla is the one that needs to allow them to be on their network.

compact grotto
tepid wing

From what others have said this delay might be related to them firing their charging infastructure team.

compact grotto
#

If the vehicle manufacture provides a CCS to NACS adapter it will work.

tepid wing
#

Honestly with how often they lie I wouldn't take their website at face value, plus the website says that GM isn't supported yet.

#

I'm wondering if I should send GM a letter about this because they don't seem to have another non-telephone way of contacting them.

stiff bloom
# compact grotto If the vehicle manufacture provides a CCS to NACS adapter it will work.

This is partly correct. If a charger uses the NACS/J3400 plug but otherwise is a CCS/J1772 charger, it will work without factory support. However, with a Tesla charger, the vehicle will need to support the NACS/J3400 communication protocol (which is different from the CCS/J1772 communication protocol and can be added via an OTA software update). Otherwise, the vehicle will connect but will not signal the charger to begin charging and/or at what voltage/amperage.

Edit: Actually Tesla chargers have been revised in the last few years to support the CCS protocol. Not sure why car manufacturers are still so slow to adopt. Perhaps the logistics of providing individual proprietary adapters?

Tesla Supercharger is an electric vehicle fast charging network built and operated by American vehicle manufacturer Tesla, Inc.
The Supercharger network was introduced on September 24, 2012, as the Tesla Model S entered production, with six sites in California and Nevada. As of January 2024, Tesla operates a network of 6,350 Supercharger station...

I wouldn't say that LPG is common in the Netherlands. Even fuel stations with LPG are getting less by the year

stoic ledge
#

LPG has also been in decline in NL, it had an upwards trend in the 90s, still quite relevant in early 2000s but afterwards it went downhill fast

#

Early 2000s there were still benefits for it for company cars so it was still a chosen option

#

After that, it was basically only for private buyers... And there weren't/aren't many (new) private buyers

#

Around 2010 it saw some momentum again under private buyers, with the combined road tax of then free road tax (Chevy Spark, Mazda2 BiFuel) and good private buyers financing deals (Opel Corsa mainly, and other Opel models)

#

Now it's almost only Dacia which still sells LPG on new cars

#

I won't say factory fitted as previous Dacia's weren't factory fitted, but fitted before delivery. Now they're factory fitted

#

But yeah, the amount of LPG cars on the road is declining... So that'll also be the case for fuel stations

#

However, it's still broadly available

That's just manual brakes at best, a 76 Chevette is like trying to stop a freight train with a toothpick, with only a 60 hp engine, that's why you got to have calves to stomp on those brake cables. Who needs power brakes, apparently nobody if your car is under 1 ton. Now my question is, if nobody had power brakes would people tailgate as much? Would we still have people weaving in and out of traffic starting and stopping like their hair is on fire? I live out in the country and city driving to me is like going into a war zone, nobody is patient.
