Don't use anything with my Bimmer. Wanted a bluebus. But not compatible with my car.

lyric tulip
#

i dont mind if its sketchy but i wanna know before spending 300 dollars on something i dont know if it works or not

#

see my bluetooth in my 2010 sucks now

#

recently its been skipping and not connecting properly

civic spoke
#

With the old truck I drove, then I just had a Bluetooth aux thing.

lyric tulip
#

no aux in my car

stoic ledge
#

I've installed something similar in my brothers BMW, but ofc there are different quality systems

#

If executed right it can work

civic spoke
#

This is what I kept in the truck.

#

That connects to your phone and gives you Bluetooth audio in the car.

#

Just need a USB jack, and Aux.

stoic ledge
#

Momo has no aux tho

civic spoke
#

Yeah Sadge

stoic ledge
#

If the box sends the audio over the iPod connection.... It could all work

#

But it really depends on the quality of the implementation 😛

civic spoke
#

I hated and loved FM transmitter.

#

Had it for a year in the bimmer.

#

Hated it, because so many people also had it. So could never get a clean signal.

stoic ledge
#

So in my brothers BMW the system is in between the original system and the screen, audio is sent over AUX, original controllers work, it takes over the iDrive controller and you toggle between iDrive and that controller by holding the menu button

I'd say the up was one of the best cars despite it's issues, they made because it's just a car, no nonsense no ipad stuck to the dash

they are a saturn here though

elfin stone

I am really jealous of that rear bumper

hexed kayak
#

@elfin stone how much can you buy one for where you are?

elfin stone
#

Depending on the equipment between 3000€ and 8000€

#

The expensive ones are the high tier sportscars

#

I got mine for 5000€, but it was a basic one with the rare panoramic sunroof

#

Retrofitted most of the equipment. It’s very easy to do on the Astra

hexed kayak

#

its a saturn astra XE trim if you wanna google the spec on those

elfin stone
#

I think Saturn offered 2 trim variants

#

That’s the lower tier one

#

The XR is the high tier one

hexed kayak
#

its manual

elfin stone
#

That’s a given

hexed kayak
#

probably wouldnt be hard to make into a high trim opel

hexed kayak
elfin stone
#

Just VERY expensive for you

#

FYI, these cars came with rear parking sensors in Europe, iirc, Saturn never offered them with that option

hexed kayak
#

ive already got oone opel powered car

elfin stone
hexed kayak
#

also called the Opel Z20NHH

elfin stone
#

Neat

#

Anyways, try to get an XR if you want the „proper“ Astra feeling

#

Most of the rest can be retrofitted to those cars

hexed kayak
#

whats different?

elfin stone
#

More equipment, like heated seats, Foglights etc

#

Heated seats are VERY difficult to retrofit, if the car doesn’t have the wires for it (tldr, the carpet has to come out)

hexed kayak
#

💀literally every astra xr near me is auto

elfin stone
#

Which automatic?

hexed kayak
#

idk

elfin stone
#

There are 2, an automated manual gearbox, and a standard automatic transmission

#

Need a pic of the shifter to see which one it is

#

The automated manual gearbox is the shitty one, the automatic transmission is decent

#

If it’s this shifter, stay away from the car @hexed kayak , if it’s the other one, you are good to go

hexed kayak
elfin stone
#

That’s the good automatic transmission

hexed kayak
#

I dont want an auto anyway pepoJuice

#

Slush box

elfin stone
#

^^

#

Then be prepared to spend a lot of time and money if you really want an Astra and want to upgrade it

#

You’ll have to import a lot of parts from Europe

hexed kayak
#

Only auto car i have is my volvo and thats because its a really good car and the only manuals in canada r the non turbo base models or the R

#

Base is too slow and low trim R is too problematic and expensive

it can also be swapped

elfin stone

hexed kayak

#

Lemme know if you need any pointers and part numbers if you get an Astra

in fact, the lotus elise s1 used the same engine unmodified well into the 2010s

charred depot

If that was the case here you can get the manufacturer to provide a certificate if it did indeed meet the standard before it came into place and pass that onto the government and have your car become allowed

nah, the car was never certified for euro 4,5,6, only on the elise, but the homologation doesn't apply unless i grab an identical lotus engine and plonk it in
