No why would I do that to begin with beer tastes like piss
I’d rather drink straight 95% everclear than most beers
The us beer is shit
Real
Yes
I have half a bottle of RC nitro fuel if you want it
Drink 3 mische 6 beers 2 jägermeister and i am done
Very
My school has a Excursion thats been sitting in the ag building parking lot at least since my freshman year because of electrical issues, its got the 6.8
sat for 3 or 5 monthd
one of my door locks is sad :(
I 3d printed a handy little tool to help fit my stretch to fit belt for my water pump
i hate dodge engineers why the hell would you put a oil filter directly over the axle
Bros never seen a 2024 pentastar v6
oh good lord what is that like
Whenever you think an engineer has completely ruined your day, I promise it gets worse
LMFAOOO
you clearly havent been around ag
why the hell does greasing a corn head have to be a 2 person job
¯_(ツ)_/¯
i saw a picture yesterday of a chrysler ECU full of oil because of a failed oil pressure sensor sending oil up the wiring harness lmao
chrysler moment
man im still fuckin trippping from the brake cleaner i used to clean that oil up
i should really have let the fumes settle lol
What’s the best brand of car?
I’m just not really sure which car to get next.. I drive a 2014 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI diesel. Almost 100k miles it’s all paid off, I probably want a hybrid or something that’s economical but also comfortable.
…also wish I could get ventilated seats but that only comes on super new cars ugh.
Buy an aging volvo
Save the environment, rescue an old volvo instead of buying something newer
Excellent fuel consumption while driving on the freeway, unloaded.
Time to drive unroadworthy cars "legally"
The worst part is they're trading them out for electric cars 😭 updated version mad a couple mistakes in the first one..
Nice wedding between cars

enjoying this, needs front tyres before I can drive it properly as they are like 20 year old and will disintegrate at any moment and I dont have a spare wheel
nahhhh take it on the motorway you’ll be fine
quick we gumball run across the UK to get a feel for it
Didn't they disintegrate when they were new?
The car I mean
Tires are probably the least of your worry
Its a bit crusty but its MOT exempt so : )
I have had it up to 80 on our little stretch and it certainly makes 80 feel "fast" again heh, will get numb to it soon enough.
notice sometimes people in new cars get annoyed when you are passing them in something old and shit like my 305's. this is alot more shit so that will be interesting.
@compact grotto hey sorry i know this is a bi6t of a long shot, but by any chance would you happen to know what rims these are?
i'm assuming they're some sort of advan rims but
i can't find the exact model
oh nevermind i'm fucking stupid
it's the advan rz-f2 i guess but centre lock i guess
WHAT THE FUCK... thats not a real turbo
He must have lost to a Honda
Rookie Numbers
Broke the Speedo on this thing many times. Manual 5 speed 98 Ford Escort ZX2
Wheres ur dash heading to
I hate petrol cars
No, you hate British Leyland
Whats bro doin here
Probably company lease car and using it to get petrol for their 2nd car
Seen it before, arriving in an EV and then filling up jerry cans
Or diesel for the generator in the back lmao
Gabriels tho 👀
skoda.
litterally the best brand in the world
name me 1 thing bad about skodas
the higher spec models come with umbrellas like a rolls royce
they all come with an ice scraper
and they have a parking ticket holder
they also drive nice and are relatively fast
and are relatively fashionable
Skoda, audi, volkswagen same difference
but skodas come with umbrellas in the door
that just looks beautiful
and they arent too expensive
thats a newer model
oh you forgot SEAT
yeah
wait i think the guy who wants a new car is american
i dont think there are any skodas in usa
sucks for them
id drive this tbh
its the estate too
only thing putting me off is that its all the way in newcastle
thats a whole trip
dunno vagshite is pretty numb to drive, and thats coming from someone who has a Austin Allegro.
what the hell are those
last mot
nothing too major
acc those are kind of a worry but im sure its fine
but that car mustve been sitting at the dealer for a while if its last mot was at 58k miles in 2022, and its now 2024 and its still being sold with 59k miles
only 44
nearly 3x older than me
quite a new one
MOT exempt
its fixed
tax exempt
damn
idk what id drive as a first car
i still feel like a kid
but in less than 2 years i can drive
this doesnt look bad to be honest
been driving for 4-5 years now had quite a few cars heh
how much do you pay for insurance
ive heard thats a big cost for new drivers
wow £20 road tax
I live in a dull area of scotland so its not bad
Im 22, the Allegro is £230/y to insure with 0 years no claims on that policy.
thats rlly cheap
My engine swapped declared 305 is about £400 odd a year
if you are young in london you will absolutely be over a grand, most like over 3.
yeah ik
i might just put off driving for a few years until it isnt £3k a year
doesnt look bad yk
0.9L engine that must be tiny
with turbo's doesent matter these days.
yeah i guess
this is a bit of a pain to insure due to the modifications but still suprisingly cheap.
why is the fuel gauge so big
yeah no cuz ur not in london
try insuring a car in london
Why would I do that when the real answer is leaving the phantom zone that is London and the surrounding areas.
im too deep into the london lifestyle
😦 I have to spend $1700 in my car now ugh
there is no return
why
Apparently the original shocks and struts lasting 95k miles is a miracle
So they gotta get replaced
obviously
never seen a 1.25L engine before, i remember some toyotas having a 1.33L engine too
whats with these odd numbers
Rip
1.25L ford engines have been a thing for ages.
I don’t think I can get a skoda in North America
import one from uk
Ah yes
people import cars all the time
the amount of toyota priuses imported from japan to uk is wild
get a real car : )
their brought in fresh from japan, they get it pco licensed and it becomes an uber
until its at 250,000 miles, then its sold for £1k or scrapped
for the US stuff really has to be older than 25 years to be imported.
I like how my car looks at least
uber warrior level 1000
that looks nice
not totally familiar with it as I dont live there but yeah old rule to block off certain competition or whatso
huh
what competition?
Japanese cars probably
wait beaten that 335k
350k miles
acc ykw
that car isnt in bad condition
it mightve travelled across every road in london
but its relatively clean
"As a result, a thriving ‘grey market’ sprang up, not least because many buyers found it was actually cheaper to buy a car overseas and import it than to buy one from the manufacturer’s US operation. There were also instances where the European or Japanese model was simply more powerful – or subjectively more attractive – than its US equivalent. Both of these things hurt US sales, and by the 1980s tens of thousands of foreign-built vehicles were being privately imported each year." https://www.autoshippers.co.uk/blog/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-25-year-rule
Why buy VAG when you can buy classic French.
wait what vw is this
2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI diesel
They stopped making the diesels after 2014 due to diesel gate and I don’t think they sell the Jetta wagons anymore
i swear most cars in us are petrol anyways
Yup.
why
I like the torque I get out of the diesel
as long as its a euro 6 diesel i dont see the issue
Legislators? Environmentalists? Idk
then get a euro 6 diesel engine
emissions are fairly lower
Most car manufacturers are pushing hybrids and EVs now
turbo diesel euro nothing, exempt from LEZ here.
“The future”
not excempt from ULEZ in london
£12.50 a day for that, around £5k a year
why would I go there though
because london
few years yet before I lose my sanity enough to visit london and it will be exempt
for a car to be ulez compliant, it has to be a euro 4 petrol or euro 6 diesel
i like the idea of water powered cars
extracting hydrogen in the car from the water using electrolysis
then using hydrogen to power the car
cars are exempt from them at 30 year old in Scotland vs 40 in engoland.
i dont see many cars in central london that arent toyota priuses doing uber, or motorbikes and ebikes doing food delivery, or buses, or mercedes g wagons
id drive this wow
EVs arent that bad to me though
if you do say 12 miles a day
a car with 250 miles range can easily do a week
Don't really like any modern cars so ruled out on that basis
opinions on this
horrible, and not saying that because its a EV or the tragic colour, just horrible
its a stupid modern pointless SUV thing
in my opinion plug-in hybrids are the future
or just an ice engine
most emissions arent produced by us
70% of emissions are by the top 100 companies anyways
this looks quite nice, but it is a 1.3L renault engine
You also forgot Cupra
They’re just expensive and the range is rather eh for me at the moment. Plus charging infrastructure isn’t well off in ubran/remote areas.
If I'd be buying brand new car now, EV would probably be considered
But the used offerings are... Meh
Jetta Wagons, no. Jetta Wagon was just a Golf Variant tho (Golf Mk6), they still make a Golf Variant for the European market (Mk8)
Oh
More markets I think
Just not the US
It's not the best looking wagon tho
Also still available as a diesel in certain countries
Hmm maybe not since the recent facelift
It was before
litterally just rebranded
Seat will be a mObIlItYsOlUtIoN
just a bit similar
Cupra Born is what the Seat el-Born concept wash
charging in london is easy
But I've said this many times before: for every VW there's a better car somewhere else in VAG
skoda > vw
"the only cars that come with umbrellas in doors are rolls royces and skodas".
Karoq
what country
maybe different region
oh i saw a video
mightve been an afterthought
It's my parents, they wanted a higher seat and Kodiaq was too large
They've looked at basically every C-segment CUV in existence and they liked the Karoq the most
Koraq just sounds... Idk. It's a weird name.
Also, the cheapest used Kodiaq with DSG and ACC is at least 30k
karoq is cheap tbf
In the UK everything is cheap, Karoq is still not a cheap car imho
8k is reasonable
> UK
uk car markets always been cheaper than europe
Cheapest Karoq with DSG and ACC for sale in NL
the amount of old cars i hear people daily in the US and eu
i see it as a rarity for a car to be registered before 2005
mainly cuz ULEZ
lmao
Used UK cars are worthless as there's no export market
wdym
well obviously theres no export marker
our cars are RHD
your customers consist of japan and australia
Exactly, which heavily impacts the residual value
dont plan on exporting a car anytime soon
True, and practically nobody is shipping a UK car across the world
people do that to the uk tbf
Towards the UK, yes
the amount of imported VWs and toyotas from japan
nah
But not the other way around
💀
they impoty the priuses cuz its cheaper in japan
also if japan and australia dont allow impotts what can you do
u dont have any other country really
the imported prius lifestyle goes japanese person -> imported to uk-> does 200k miles as an uber -> ends up on sale for £2k
Fair
But yeah in mainland Europe cars get exported quite lot, which means even older cars keep their value as there's always demand
Nothing wrong with having the steering wheel on the wrong side : )
The average company car goes
- 150k km lease
- 100k km 2nd private owner
- Exported to Eastern Europe with 80k km on the clock
What does Spécial do? 😛
its just special thats all
Always struggle to adjust to hydropneumatic citroens the brakes are so sharp on them.
Braking is for the weak
the insurance company has an issue
to where
its alright
cuz there are no thieves or people to get robbed by or crash into
for u
cars get stolen alot around here but its just pishy Ford ST's and fancy shite with keyless entry (literally)
all new cars come with keyless entry nowadays
and screw keyless entry
it doesnt even properly work half the rime
and is a major security risk
Works perfectly for the people without keys : )
as I say keyless entry (literally)
theyll be carless sooner or later
but car theft in london is worse
thieves will assault you in broad daylight, grab ur car keys and run off with the car
Even so no one is going to steal a Citroen GSA or Peugeot 305.
you never know
would be the height of desperation, they wouldnt even get the Citroen GSA started.
such a piece of shit to get going
fairs
most cars stolen now are keyless
and within 4 hours its out of the country
the met police wont do shite aswell
Common cars are hard to track, all they have to do is stick another plate on and its the same as anything else.
Wherever is demand lol
My brothers "old" Volvo get exported to somewhere, idk where, but that's as it was a diesel which is hated on in NL, but not in other countries
His first car, a Clio, some student from Belgium purchased it, because some ULEZ-type city he was studying, and as Belgium at the time mostly drove diesels importing a petrol car was the solution
My sister in laws car comes from Germany, often you can find specs there you cannot find here. My parents cars is imported from Belgium.
Cars just go wherever demand, and demand increases prices
Step 1: keep your key in a tin box
Woah, car cannot be stolen anymore
Theres a bunch of other exploits that dont even need a key, JLR stuff is especially bad for it
not bad car
damn
1.0 S 60hp 💀
or just buy a faraday pouch
turbo dw
oh
N/A diesel 305 memories
Likely
Funny that my 305 will soon have the same power as a modern Focus ST diesel
ehhhh, 2.0hdi is decent 1.6 is very efficient but trades off reliability
the 1.6 seems fine idk
It depends on which 1.6
what leads you to that conclusion, they were awful even before all the extreme emissions bullshit
BlueHDI is good again I think
cuz my parents used to own a citroen with one
When they switched back to 8v
the sample set of 1 good data : )
dont get how a 2 litre diesel can have £0 road tax
Yeah my brother had that, but them a proper spec with xenon
it does 99g/CO2
because it was made before 2017
if it did 100g/co2 it would cost £20
ye ik
huh?
Road tax
Si
the highest bracket is £675
My Astra is €600 something
My Corsa was also the same
Astra is actually slightly less than the Corsa
£0, £10, £20, £35, £150, £180, £200, £240, £365, somewhere around £500, £675
get an efficient car u pay nothing
whats it based on
like what determines the tax bracket
Fuel type and weight
odd
Diesel is 2x petrol
makes sense
LPG-G3 is petrol + 2 Weight classes
Yeah my Astra is €672/year
€0 for now
Normal Hybrid, same as petrol
PHEV until this year 25% of petrol
Next year 50% of petrol
After that, same as petrol
not a penny on road tax
oh
I have a 1.4 Turbo 150 ^^
Depends, NL also has a purchase tax based on emissions
So purchase tax of a PHEV less, so there's a benefit there
£150
please keep this out of london
im somewhat grateful that most cara are efficient
no smelly roads
I have to drive into the scottish low emission zones alot, often see people giving me funny looks.
So for example, to buy, a new Passat 1.5 eTSI or Passat eHybrid, they PHEV is already €1k less to purchase
-25% maybe would be fair to compensate for the battery weight
fines are brutal here so they are probably like the fuck
Yeah basically 25% of what I pay xP
Its nice though if someones following you close you can just left foot brake and go full throttle and become a coal train

LEZ exempt
Smoked out the MOT bay so much it started coming through the door into the waiting area, passed emissions.
was on a different engine, same deal but black smoke
Makes perfect sense that can enter, but a 2014 super-mini with a 1.2-1.3 diesel? Nooooooo bad
Most well maintained classics are indeed in a state where their dashboard is missing
the saloon is well maintained, estate is future scrap :^)
that was stockish XUD9TE, will be about double that power wise on the built engine
That turbo be sounding great
got a nail in my tire and dont feel like getting new set cause theyre nice summer treads
will a tire patch last the life of the tire
that would depend on how big the nail was, who patches it, how old the tire is, and how much longer you expect them to last
Even better
nice cars, Did you already be in stuttgart museum from porsche and in the other from mercedes
its great
its around the corner
only 120 km away
oh
a little bit further away
heck yeah
oh
train?
easy
what the heck
i dont understand
.
Yeah it's insane
the whole sentence
Would buy if I had 2.5M laying around
it is nice but a kreidler florett rs is nicer
you are quite young
dc
heck yeah
i have one
i am reparing
it
for bigger zylinder so it can do 120 kmh @fathom socket
Had never heard of it lol
haha yeah its german
a poor mans car am i right?
So proud of this photo
@fyodorroger on Instagram if you want to see more (i am a victim of social media cravings)
The guy on the left 😭
its supposed to be like that lmao
Oh
Personally, prefer it like this, because its just cars and nature that way
But that's my personal opinion

fair enough, it does look pretty good
but the dude adds dimention and layering, i wish the car roof wasnt in the image at all (the one at the bottom of the photo) bc it makes the image look unclean
im guessing your using light room?
Hell no, I just use my S24

Never giving a cent to adobe again

average Mercedes G wagon driver
Older pic but still a good one
Chu Chu I'm a train
Twoo choo
made it 10 miles in the allegro someone cut me off heading up to a roundabout which is a bold move to do on a well maintained MOT exempt car with over 20 year old front tyres.
I had vague ambitions of driving it for work but needs reliability improved a little bit first
Lol
The spare tire on my truck is from January 2006
Need to check the date codes on the rest of the tires
Don't think they're as old, but definitely old
Pretty sure the tires it has are what were on it when it was pulled out of a barn a few years ago
They're some cheap road tires that have managed to survive a 4-wheeling trip and snow
Do they sell replacement tires for spare wheels? or just the thing as a whole
I’ve never really thought about it before
is that widebody and a bonnet spoiler on a regular celica??
never paid much attention to the non-japanese models before... there's a surprising amount of them
This is a full-size spare, same size as the normal tires
This is a 4X4 from the '80s, not a nissan altima
Bonnet spoiler yes, widebody no
Just weird lighting I guess
Top angle lmao
@dull cedar
Oh rip, it's an AT
Would be cheaper to buy an ST18* than it would be to swap a 3S into it due to the engine mount differences
But a 20V 4A-GE would be a decent swap
4AGH2 tho
Maybe someday
What the fuck is a 4AGH2
That does not exist
Unless you're weirdly making up a name for a hydrogen powered 4A-GE
Legit what toyota called their 4ag hydrogen engine prototype
An engine i wouldnt mind having, cuz then their emissions can get bent
Source? I've read all about that and never seen them call it that
Source? Lmao, idk, maybe not legit "as in literally" legit fully but idk if there is really a name for it, but you got what i meant soooo
They called that then an ae86 h2 with a 4ag block, so i just kinda mash em together and u get a name that is pretty self explanatory
Peugeot 305 and 406 : )
My 2001 Ford Lightning
Pic of it in your driveway or it never happened
Sick!
edited but basically the same thing, probably bolts straight on :^)
great svt lightning
What engine does it have? 5.4 or 5.8?
5.4
What car guy doesn't miss Ken Block? Bro was a legend
Miot
such a little cutie
Or just replace the transmission........
Hey what do you guys think about s550 ecoboost mustangs with around 100k miles are they worth about 10k?
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation cancelled Chohan Freight Forwarders license after the company was involved in six overpass strikes in the last three years. As Liam Britten reports, the company is fighting the move. Meanwhile, the B.C. Trucking Association is applauding the government for taking action.

How could you be that bad
My grandpa has the Craftsman-branded version of that smaller saw
I'm not really a fan of that saw, the handle is connected directly to the rest of the saw, no "suspension" on it, vibrates the hell out of your hand
Good way to get chainsaw elbow
I remember this. No idea how this could have happen.
Unless the route planned was by that company or something.
As a trucker. I'm always aware of bridges and anything that might be low enough to strike me.
An Ecoboost mustang?
If you want rwd and 4 cylinders, buy literally anything else lol
If im correct, there was the V6 and then after came the ecoboost, as a replacement
I think the V6 and Ecoboost were available side by side, but the V6 got cancelled at some point
ohh makes sense
Hey, what car looks like this?
Prius? heh
not even a question
anybody have any clue what this could be? one of the pod lights are barely on 24/7 even with the side by side off
and the switch to turn them on doesn’t do anything, just stays like that
Why does my car putt like a go cart when I start it. Goes back to normal after I rev it
Experimented more: took the switch out and unplugged everything from that switch.. the light is still slightly on
which makes me think there’s a relay coming off of that down the line closer to the light
that is most likely broken or unplugged
:0
Next you need a GT50
welp starter went out 🙃 i can pop start my s10 but ya at work no the only person with a wench is the work truck an boss leaves early an takes keys
an all the parking is slightly sloped down one part is down the mountain other is in a ditch so ya
Clapped
xud9 engine im on the second engine in my car im starting to hate these motors 😂
I have alot heh, only really had one go wrong when I lost all my coolant because of a shitty radiator and I decided to thrash it along some B roads.
Still made it to my unit did some work on it then happened to check the coolant level before leaving: nothing.
It wasn't empty, it just decided to identify as a air-cooled engine that day
They are pretty alright if you dont mess with them just people crank them up to like 25psi have them reeking to fuck with a shitty top mount intercooler that gets no airflow and cook them
I dont actually need any parts from this engine, just a scrap car in breakers yard but im a hoarder for these
I'm going to remove the cylinder head tomorrow after work I think, probably just to find out its cooked and thats why its in the breakers yard heh
Don't cause another enviromental disaster
Ah its a proper yard that has to depollute them so no chance of that
annoying because they dont let you use angle grinders or jacks
usually id knock a engine mount off and use a jack to shift the engine to get access to stuff. in this case to get access down the back I just dropped it off all the mounts and let it fall out the car.
i bought a used engine for 100bucks thinking it would be trash but it was in a pretty good state, i am going to replace all the bearings, the turbo was shot but that can be rebuild for pretty cheap
Have a GT2052 from a merc on mine
bottoms ends are usually fine here, just whether the head is cracked or not from overheating
is that a straight bold on for the stock manifold? might have to take a look then
Nah but adapter plates are simple enough
Funnily enough the factory hard oil feed still fits up
youd really want ARP head bolts and whatso with that turbo anyway gets a little expensive
Autorama is Saturday and Sunday all day
Just remove
Simple solution
not taking that but just in the way of the bits I want
all of mine are older ones that never came with it in the first place
its not just the EGR thats in the way even if you managed to remove it, the stupid flange on the manifold would be in the way on its own
going four wheeling on the weekend
How do people drive electric cars with gas cars with turbos do that
The average consumer doesn't care about cool factor
They just want to get from point A to point B
We care about smiles per gallon in here
Ik, but too bad for them
In an electric cars to get to point B you will need to visit a charging station
Like If you say I want to have good gas mileage
You are the average consumer
Unless you're going on a road trip, you will likely never visit a charging station
You charge overnight at home
my 1988 suzuki samurai
Mmmm rust
Smol
its not crazy rusty like the others luckely 😅
this car was a mistake
smol
Well - I just noticed, not having seen this thing in a long time; The older I get, the more I actually like it. Probably made for middle aged men in their midlife crisis.
the vehicle made with one purpose and theme in-mind is shit? what a surprise /s
it's purpose is cybertruck
Netherlands was talking about a charging ban from 4pm till 8 or 9pm so they can comnect more houses to the net
that's a government/infra problem
yeah the grid here is to weak, there has been so much power outages the last few years its getting annoying so annoying even i installed a generator at my home 😂
Transformer at our unit blew up a while ago, privately owned. Was tempted to make a generator with a XUD as we needed 3 phase.
Something a bit more proper instead
The R58 is so damn goofy
I also care about fuel economy a little bit
This is my daily
Candid shot of the lightning
what made you want to take the picture like that
Cause it’s not professional and the last one I sent was
That one
Good to balance the reality of a situation with the gussied up situation
High miles but bores were mint on it, sadly they charge alot for entire engines as they have to remove them because helf and safety
These are so weird to me.
It's registered as a tractor+trailer.
Hence the second set of lights between the second, and third axle...
I think these would be registered as a medium-duty truck here in the states
More or less. Here in Sweden you require a BE license (along with a tachograph+card) to drive it.
At least in a commercial setting.
As far as licensing goes, may be off of weight like with semi tractor-trailers
But it makes sense. Since a normal box truck has a loading capacity of like 800-1,000 kg. Where as that 3-axle thing has a payload capacity of more like 2,500 kg.
Yeah but not to the point that you drive a prius
Dam I want one of these
Makes sense it's electric the only use for it is I wanna look cool
Even though I'm useless
If we are being honest you buy an electric truck bc it's cool not useful
It can be usefull but like it aint gonna tow for long
Battery goes down like an iphone 6 when towing
If you're gonna tow, just get a fucking diesel
Not bad economy. Pretty good.
first time im cleaned it since last july 😂
omg a car channel??!
if i was to show u what my daily looks like you would laugh
its covered in hard minerals from the rain sleet and snow
my daily is impractical as fuck
i hate my daily but it gets me where I need to go
i work in construction 😂 and live in a place with snow
i should have a truck
but fun over function
i would but the prices are outrageous
I had the random idea of buying a diesel f250 and dropped that thought after 2 mins on google
idk how people own classics
im personally very scared of buying a rust bucket
well i think of it like this
my old car cost 3-15K
a decent new car is 25+
even if my corvette was a piece of shit and needed work it would be far less than a new car, i can walk into any autoparts store and get pieces, and honestly ik itll last longer
theres a reason cars from the 90s are everywhere yet ik cars and trucks from 2019 that already blew a motor
how would u go about verifying the frame is solid
my car is almost all fiberglass
the vette is yeah
even the leaf springs
jaguar uses steel frames no?
makes more sense when u put it that way
i mean u can kinda tell just looking at them
if the car looks like shit its probably shit
i mean i do too but i think some rust is fine on a old car depending where and year of car
and price
atleast with a old car you can usually find someone selling a solid frame roller 😂
lotus
lots
of
trouble
usually
serious
its powered by toyota
new lotus?
I think thats a myth
05 06 era is what I want
ah the joke is for old ones
I wouldnt want anything past i think 2010
I want to turbo k20 it
soo bad
On this episode of TRC we feature Chris' Honda Powered 2005 Lotus Elise! It's been swapped with a turbocharged K-series engine, fitted with widebody fender flares, and a ton of custom modifications. Power to weight makes this car an absolute weapon on the street, watch along as we give you a full breakdown on this amazing machine!

i want a XJS V12 and a 84 vette with the crossfire and a nash 4+3 manual, greenwood body kit, and a procharger
You like the c4 vettes?
i was talking about them the other day and I had it ranked as the ugliest vette
im sorry man
C3>C4>C2>C7>C5>C1>C6>C8
our taste are completely different I see

ill never own a car past 2009 probably
and thats only b/c of the GTO
i hate new cars
my greatest pics from the gm vette is the c5 and c6

Can I have
Buy my bmw
$1500 as it sits
$5
For $85000 sure!
Uh, I think you put an extra zero
Nope
Beat up used Lightnings regularly go for 10k or more
There’s a $50000 drive train in this one
Also I’m not interested in selling the vehicle due to the history it has so I put an absurd number out there
Bro has a ford gt motor in a lightning lmao
Not far off actually
It has the junior brother of the GT blower
2.1 Whipple
Feel free to take a read
yikes am sorry to hear that
😬
Eh its not that bad,I was buying rods and everything anyways
Just means it's now expedited
The only shifty thing about it is it rebuilt by a shop in November

how is this any better then pop up headlights and smooth sloped nose cars
idk if either of you actually watched the video.
this is why i like point noss cars
<~< apart from the obvious shork vibes of course
BRING👏THIS👏 BACK
also while we're at it MAKE CARS HAPPY AGAIN
😤
look at how smiley this E46 is... just a little happy race car
Haha nerd nice link
That's basically how I am with my dakota r/t
When it got totaled I was looking at buying a lightning or typhoon
But I ended up buying a work truck and keeping the dakota
i found a super clapped out samarai. almost bought it
its about atv sized
yeah its a small car
but it also makes it so great for ofroad
🥺
👉👈
why can't all cars be happy little sharks
just imagine driving around in nice little shark looks cars
volvo phwoar, just stick a D24 in
No
is there some website where I can find pictures of a model exactly the way the original looked?
I want to check what the original radio from the E46 3-series 2005 model looks like

But all it says is "radio CD with 6 speakers"
I assume that means it's 1-DIN and has no capability for bluetooth nor has a touchscreen - if that was even a thing back then
I guess I'll have to cut the chassis so the 2DIN radio I bought fits 💀😭
I found my dream car. I FUCKING KNEEL!
So for those following the laguna disaster, she's had a clutch and flywheel replacement
She's back on the road now after an issue with gear linkage last wee where the angle was wronf
who is laguna
if id be smaller id get this one
Tiny lupo
The diesels are suuuper efficient in those lupos, im happy under 10/100 lmao
I mean, I could share my LCI E46 320i.
Here's what my interior looked like back when it was new-to-me.
Lupo 3L, with fuel (claimed) consumption of 3l per 100km (Not 3000cc engine (It is 1191cc TDI)
i miss old cars and their buttons😭
I think the 2015 WRX had the perfect balance. Touchscreen for nav and some specific shit that shouldn't need to be touched while moving and is to complicated for buttons. But buttons for climate and audio and all the frequently changed or simple shit.
screens should be for nav and audio
things related to the car(gauge cluster, climate, seats) should be physical
exactly
Two rockers on the center console for heated seats, dials and buttons for climate under the nav/stereo screen, dials on stereo for channel and volume control along with rockers on steering wheel, buttons on steering wheel to do handsfree phone stuff, touch screen for nav, program some handsfree phone stuff, and to select which audio device to use (like bluetooth or CD or radio).
Simple, elegant, you can wait for a stoplight or until parked to do anything that requires the touch screen.
understood, your gear shifter is now on a screen
My mom drives a Model 3, I had to take it once and I was cold, went to turn the temperature up and realized I was almost halfway into the oncoming lane by the time I was done. I should of been switching my focus more and I am newer driver but my WRX doesn't have that, it's a quick glance to make sure my hand is near the needed dial, than just feel for the dial and adjust. I can see the temperature on a little display right under the windshield so eyes stay close enough to the road that I can hold my lane and speed.
This isn't my car but it's pretty damn close aside from the buttons inbetween the dials and red accents
Yeah, the trend of higher front grills (that often do nothing) as welll as center infotanment units to do everything are killing more and more people
but, thats what the majority want, to be dominating and minimalistic/futueristic
It does not help that in the US by law for aesthetic reasons like tint, SUVs and trucks are often committed while smaller, safer for pedestrians, sedans and coups have to follow stupid and often not enforced laws. The EPA also encourages manufactures to create heavier cars to avoid meeting emissions/efficiency guild lines
Because muh american horse power, a lot of cars come turbocharged these days making them majority of the time more inefficent as well, which is funny
I personally wish that a base licence in the US only permitted you to drive a honda grom
Turbochargers boost efficiency?
Turbos do boost efficiency by increasing the air to fuel ratio increasing the horsepower for the same amount of fuel burned
That sure is an interesting bit of kit never seen a yoke like that before
Autoroma
i need a more comfy ride. i'm constantly swerving to dodge manholes
my next paycheck will have me buying quiet non runflat tires
guys
should I sell my 04 infiniti G35 Sedan, 100k miles flat, i've been offered 4.25k for it, low, but it has been in an accident that was cosmetic... now that I type it out, i might end up actually keeping it, but opinions appreciated
USD im guessing?
thats really low
yeah
if anything i think I should find a trade instead if I do want to change out my car
not really
you can’t really just increase only air that means you have to increase fuel too
turbochargers just squeeze more power out of an engine
but that allows the engine to be made smaller which is more fuel efficient than a bigger naturally aspirated engine (most of the time)
(also because it’s squeezing as much power as possible out of a tiny engine it’s in theory less reliable/more stress but that’s a different topic)
Guys, I need a new head unit for my mom and I wanted to make a topic about it on the LTT Forum
but I can't seem to find any categories this would fit in
can you help?
Turbo chargers do not”boost air to fuel ratio”, all engines run roughly at a 14 (air) to 1 (gas ratio). The ONLY THING they do is force in more air.
- They however have parasitic loss and decrease scavenging on the exhaust stroke
2)Turbo charged engines run hotter then normal engines due to burning more air and fuel in a relatively smaller combustion engine generally requiring running richer (more gas not burned) to prevents hotspots that can cause knock (pre ignition) - they have to run a lower compression piston to prevent knock (pre ignition) from compressing the denser air being forced into it from the turbo charger decreasing efficiency further.
They harm efficiency

In attempts to improve fuel economy, many companies are ...
the G16E from the GR yaris and corolla are pretty damn efficient for what they do lol
Because it’s a Yaris
A yaris making 268HP from 3 cylinders
Fun fact, you can get more power out of a naturally aspirated engine just by increasing pistion compression ratio because it increases its efficiency
using as much fuel as my <100hp corolla
exact same thing applies to turbo engines
you just need shit strong enough
If you do that you have to run richer which is inherently less fuel efficient to prevent knock or run stupidly high octane fuel like E85 which is in the 100s
Oh, and E85 is like 3x the price of regular 87
So good luck with that
Seems your GR Yaris also runs on 98
As do most performance engines
that's RON 98, not american
Ah
even the N/A GR86 runs 98
How do you boost compression? You need something to increase airflow, to increase that compression. Either a supercharger or turbocharger. Turbos are more efficient than superchargers as long as you drive it not stupidly. There's an observable difference between non-turbocharged and turbo-charged cars. Even with modern cars being heavier than old cars, they're more efficient because of Turbochargers.
We aren’t talking about just the PSI in your engine head, the smaller you can get the internal surface area down the higher you can push efficiency
Part of why smaller engines are also more efficient
you don't appear to know shit all about what you're talking about
compression refers to the compression ratio of the combustion chamber... always will and always has
As he mention, while you can designed a turbo charged engine to be efficient, once you get into the higher RPMs fuel economy tanks. If you do have a turbo charged car you really need to pay attention to how you drive
turbo charged engines are also more inherently complex which can make servicing them more of a PITA but shouldn’t be your deciding factor
And any modern cars shifts at pretty low RPMs
They will stay in the tallest gear they can usually but it does not stop you from going WOT
While not using boost at lower RPMs you have significantly lower power as well
Imagine having engine related parts on your car break, smh
Just get a diesel
I fucking would if DEF didn’t exist
get a old diesel
Too expensive and maintenance
sucks to be wherever you are then
I got a decent improvement on MPG when I went to a turbo engine because I wasnt revving it to all fuck anymore
Could just get a diesel engine and engine swap I guess but it would be highly illegal here
n/a diesel I was taking up the limiter heh
so get a diesel
petrol car go waaa waa need perfect air fuel ratio, who wants that.
don't get a diesel if you only do short trips though.
being warmed up and having a nice length of driving while warm is very good for it, especially any with an EGR... which will be most if you buy anything from this century
I drive a 30 mile strip so I’d be fine
I wouldnt buy a modern diesel but I dont have a cat dpf or EGR from factory so no worries, do lots of short journeys as well as long ones.
I wish diesel motorcycles would come back, I want my 200MPG
original owner of dad's hilux drove it from wanaka to queenstown every day, over the crown range
and dad has always driven it ~30km each way for work every day.... not a single engine issue, unless you count the alternator dying as an engine issue
turbo is perfect, injectors are perfect
He has an emergency intake shutoff right?
Yeah, but they get stuck sometimes
and EFI...
That dosent matter? Diesel are prone to becoming runaways if their turbo starts leaking and the throttle body gets stuck
Gas does not have to worry about it as much as usually they don’t have a high enough compression ratio to ignite
Ive had a N/A diesel get so much blowby it was shooting oil up the breather into the airbox and into the engine. no turbo to boost so you dont notice until you take your foot off the accelerator and the car is still going along heh.
2 stroke?
and the throttle body ain't gonna get stuck lol
Its common enough to be a thing many big rigs install, it’s also common in cold weather with cruise control
big rigs
yeah.... not comparable at all lmao
land rovers
that's all you had to say lol
a shit engine will be a shit engine
the 1KD has been in production for 24 years
theres some proper shite that was in production for extreme lengths of times so best not to go down that road heh
yes but I'm talking about toyota stuff lol
Friend got this, petrol engine though and running shit think headgasket split between cylinders. Should just diesel swap it.
Toyota makes some good shit but I wouldn’t treat them as good. Having a larger safety margin is always nice as well
||Honda k series tho? Minimum 12 lbs of boost||
I will find you.

swapping the engine will cost more than just buying a diesel one lol
order a new 1KD long block from toyota and put that in there
your wallet will scream
one downside to good things..... they don't tend to come cheap
im jelly
apparently the engine it currently has can be bought cheap from like china as it is used in forklifts heh
will take cylinder head off soon and see how bad it is, down compression badly on 2 cylinders
Guessing it's the 22R? Lol
Not sure it was him that looked, nothing impressive from what I seen under the bonnet.
2.4 litre?
2.2 apparently
get one off aliexpress no bother
it hopefully just needs a head gasket
he had a fairly nice taro before, but had a dreadful 1.8
with the tyres on this thing its probably gonna be worse
