but i think EVs are a niche rn and are a learning curve and arent really known about. people know they exist and know about electric vehicles, but the knowledge surrounding them is sort of gatekeeped which makes them hard to get into initially for a lot of people. i think this upcoming gen of EVs are going to be the start of something much bigger for the EV market. and we might be seeing a turning point in the auto industry, finally. but slowly so maybe in the next 10 to 20 years we will be seeing much more.

its same issue with crypto, people dont want crypto to succeed because of their stake in paper money lmao. but the idea of having a unified digital currency is innovative. its not as innovative as electric cars tho. but digital money not just in the form of debit or credit has HUGE innovative implications in the post modern world, not just because of something primitive like currency conversion, but because of it's inherent detached nature from the government. i am a huge proponent of crypto, but most governments hate it because it is inherently anti-government. ultimately, the government can spend energy to slow it down or they can try to adopt it. but i dont think crypto is going to die anytime soon. if anything it's growing massively. just give it time.

E-series based probably can have a larger box on it with the same length as the nose is shorter
F-series you can probably get a more powerful engine as there's more space/more cooling possible

@valid marsh e-series is purpose built to have a box on them - f series chassis cabs are heavier duty and meant to have anything from a crane body to a wrecker body or even just a box if you want
At least it sounds like you want to use a truck frame for what is intended for, rather than just looking cool going to the grocery store
e series is shorter and easier to drive, they suck to work on for the most part, and are not built as rugged
they have a hell of a lot more body roll, and you probably don't want to be towing very much with it.
F series is going to be more expensive generally, but higher GVW, have options of 4x4, etc. you really dont want to tow with a f series box truck that is loaded down either. The hydraulic brakes on even the brand new f550s kind of blow and are underpowered IMO- but that's the same on any of the pickup style chassis. If you want to do some towing and have a proper medium duty truck frame there is also the f600
f650, sorry. f600 is a higher GVW version of the f550. F650 is going to be a proper medium duty straight truck, much heavier duty, most of them have air brakes which is a huge upgrade and is way safer and more comfortable to drive with weight. if you're in the US as long as your GVW is under 26,000 pounds you dont need a CDL (even with airbrakes).
That 26,000 lbs rule is why there are so many self-employed in the USE with their own trucks and a big trailer.

Another benefit to hooklifts is when you use trailers.
You can have trailers here that hold two containers. And so you can deliver up to 3 containers in one go.

Another advantage is that you can also move the containers around some while they are on the ground. Not really sure if you can do that with normal rolloffs.

Two Dayton Audio Max X 15's in a infinite baffle/trunk baffle in a 67 Firebird. The baffle is vented through the rear deck and uses the trunk as the enclose. At the time of this video I had a JP95 on the whole system but have since switched to two U.S. Acoustics amps. I have a Lisa on the front stage and a Mike on the subs running at 2 ohms.

Nope, we get most of our vehicles from the united states. People will buy them from auction and bring them over the border to fix up, then get sold all over central américa. So at the end of the day, the most viable option is maybe just getting a junked car with a stock engine, either the 2.4 or the 2.7 that it had during that run

a supercharger kit is your best bet for value. you can always put a intercooler on it and a smaller pulley for more power down the road

I have a bleed point that requires partial removal of a heater core hose

cant lift the resovoir up on these as the hose sits vertical but people usually have to extend it with a coke bottle or something, I just vacuum fill as I have the tool and dont have to worry about it.
An airlock in these is a death sentance as all the heat is in the cylinder head.

ive considered a vag car a few times people tout the 1.9tdi reliability but if and when you actually have to do something on them in the newer end of the cars its just a bit meh.

this is where 305's rust and even where it looks solid here it is not, as there is insulation on the other side which has trapped water against it. so its 10x worse when looked at from inside the car.
Fixing this remotely properly would be windscreen removal, wings off, dash out, cut out dash support from inside car etc.
I dont have permanent inside space so a car without a windscreen and whatso is just going to be annoying to work with, I guess I could get a car cover but.
Honestly, that is a spot that I would expect to be one of the fastest spots to rust out with how much leaves and crap that accumulate under the cowling

Yeah, but you can usually sell the power back to the grid during the day. I know people with EVs and solar roofs that did sell more power than they consumed. But they were very energy conscious and did use some home automation to optimize climate control and stuff. But generally selling to the grid is less efficient than something like a power wall though batteries aren't cheap.

Either way, solar roofs are still good because the space isn't used anyways and solar is most effective during peak hours which is day time. An optimal clean grid would use nuclear plants for a base-load, batteries and nuclear SMRs for back-ups and covering sudden night-time spikes. And solar is the best option to cover the peak consumption and it's most effective during peak hours.
Plus they're the 2 safest sources of power, and the strain on solar would be reduced by overnight charging increasing the baseload. CANDU reactors are also far more adaptable to changing grid conditions than other nuclear reactors.
Nuclear is great for constant loads. 👌
Batteries is what's far and beyond the best at random peaks for small areas.
Sorry, a bit of a tangent, I really like nuclear, specifically Canadian nuclear.
Yeah, only downside to batteries is back-ups during extended outages. Which is where SMRs become king.

and by the end of it it generally doesnt cost much
people mainly use teslas and literally the only thing they want is the battery so every other part mainly the bigg $$ ones like the mcu,motors,body panels can all be sold off making the battery cost almost zero depending on how cheap you get it
cant wait to see what people will do with the battery packs from the tesla semi once those start getting wrecked and hitting the salvage auctions

Electric trucks work. As long as you operate within the limited range you have with the battery.

because they run out of battery at the same time its no longer legal to drive anymore and can be charged before it is legal to drive again

Along with always charging over night. Even if you just have 400 km's of real world range, then that's plenty.

Distrobution trucks is also a great option for EV.
Tesla semi vs a diesel semi just isn’t very practical. Diesel you can fill up in a semi and go like 500-1000 miles on one tank. Electric your having to charge easy 5 times or more because they only go as far as 100-250 miles on one charge. Also takes a lot longer to charge an electric vehicle

That's why I'm saying that EV trucks only make sense if you can do a day's work within the range of the battery.
Which means your really only going to be transporting things in a 200 mile radius

Or anything where you usually idle for hours upon hours.
Picking up containers from ports, etc.
Depends I mean you may be transporting something across the country so why need to stop at another wear house
And that's where EV trucks fall apart. They can not ever do over the road like diesel trucks.
you’d need to basically unload everything on a fully fueled truck and have that drive down to another facility

I drive a dump truck for a living. And the highest range EV's they have is like 300 km's. A bit less than 200 miles.
i wonder if i could figure out how to make hydrogen even though its inefficient. no shitty batteries in landfills
There are many days when those 300 km's would be more than enough. Other days it wouldn't be enough.
