The N55 is what the N54 should have been
it can't build quite as much power
but it handles power a lot better reliability-wise
you can reliably* make 550 wheel on a stock block with bolt-ons

which wears down the rod bearings prematurely
A lot of these engines are said to be unreliable but the owners are to fault for it

but if you compare it to automatics it will fall way short
because it's not an automatic
it's a manual with no clutch
I'm saying this because now I've been able to drive it and experience it myself
it's a great transmission but it requires attention to drive

the worst part about racing games for me is that it's genuinely harder to play most racing sims than it is to drive in real life

ive never had a driveshaft fail like this its bloody awful.
They have a spring inside the inner cup to expand the shaft and and hold it into the gearbox rather than circlips but I think a bit of it has snapped and wedged itself infront of one of the tripod bearings

Installed a new battery in the Salvage M6 today and checked the fuses, prepped the top
The old battery failed and wouldn't let the top come back up, starter was all messed up
Everything works now and it starts more reliably. The starter motor is worn out though

the bolt holes are a bit bigger so you can get the hood wiggled around on the hinges to where it lines up with everything
idk if something more modern has some sophisticated method needing special service tools or some such similar nonsense
but you get the general idea, it also depends on the concentration of chinesium in the new hood you acquire as to how well the holes line up and how well the rest of it lines up with your existing body panels
hood installs are easy yeah
just don't do it alone
and don't buy a cheap hood that doesn't have steel inserts for the threads
