my cobalt ss 2.0 turbo goes farther on a tank of gas than the 2.2 n/a cobalt i have. No matter how gingerly or rough i drive that little n/a toy the average is always 7.3-9.1 l/100km and the turbo car is anywhere from 5l/100km to 22l/100km

I thought handbrake turns are about having more speed and using the handbrake for a very short period of time just to break rear wheel grip.
Using it for a long time increases the likelihood of slowing the car enough that rear wheel grip reestablishes when the handbrake is released.

imo, none of that repair immediately stuff should've been caught by them, that's all stuff you should've tested for yourself
takes literal seconds to test lights, and only a few minutes to get the car in the air and spin/shake each wheel

and with the wheel bearings, why only do half of them? if you had've done all 4 last year, none would've been a problem this year

I fixed all the stuff last year in a day and had it retested the next day so wasn't about to do more work than necessary.

The car hand't been on the road since 1998 and the wheel bearings were fine until it was driven to the MOT.

My friend doesen't even really look at his cars he just sends it away and gets the todo list back.

On newer stuff wheel bearings usually go from a omega pothole hit I don't seem them being replaced in pairs at garages.

I kept my car at 17" rims with a 245/40 on the summers.
Going to an 18" and a /35 or /30 is just not worth the reduced sidewall and added risk.
Not to mention, it doesn't actually do anything performance wise and sometimes weighs more.
