@fathom socket
Oldenzaal?
Yes.
Have you seen the Golden one
I was visiting the DNAT in Bad Bentheim today, and drove along the Heisterkamp location near Oldenzaal.
starts on the button
maybe
After 6+ months of work on this routy little 2 stroke, its running how it should be. It went for its first ride outside of my street today and did fantastic, especially since it was carrying two people. Thats all just wanted to share since I'm really happy that my bike runs : )
based
wanted to post a nice pic of my little car before i tear into it and redo all the wiring and stuffs.
just be honest and say "before it sits on jackstands for the next 7 years and never runs again"
lol
any subie fans?
2001 forester s, 260,000 miles. currently undergoing a full rebuild of engine.
Had a love hate relationship with my impreza
Lmao
Not cars, but...
Finally some good fucking news
I think the worn bearings are only on the back
I might get away with usijg manual tools instead of a whole ass hydraulic press
Clean
i only work on one part at a time to make sure it doesnt end up like that. But its probably gonna happen
Musculine urge to get a threaded rod some nuts and washes to pull that stupid bearing out
FUCKKK
AAAA
60£ for a new hub anyway
Or spend 15£ for the bearing itself and some tools
Take this oppurtunity to swap to disc brakes
I cba
Embrace the moneypit
Its already got 100k miles on it
Thats like factory fresh
And am im planning to upgrsde my car next year
Not here in the uk homie
Its already falling apart
tbh i dont know how much 100k miles is in metric
But yeh nissan micra isnt exactly the ultimate car
Imo get a volvo with a diesel engine. Those bad boys can take all kinds of abuse.
Im in the UK my daily is nearly 40 years old on 154k miles with a engine on 240k heh.
Probably done more than that as alot of my ownership the speedo has been disconnected as gearbox upgrade didnt have the take off till I got an adapter.
Speedo delete gang
Well my speedo cable snapped in my case
It was a bit annoying going through cities with loads of speed camera's like "I hope I am doing 30"
My phone was decent for a while as a GPS speedo, seems to be a bit spotty as of late.
With realdash i hooked it up to my ecu too to get some other fun values as boost pressure and revs and stuff
Car doesen't have any confusers but want to setup a little screen with some monitoring.

More detailed stuff like cooling system pressure, etc.
I wanna get some like servos or something and build my own custom guages that my ecu just tells where to be at or something
Proper racecar stuff
But also that doesnt cost 5 bajillion monies
My cars a indirect injection diesel but I wanted to make the throttle fly by wire essentially roboticized looking at boost pressure etc
I like fast diesels but the rolling coal bit is a bit annoying with old basic pumps.
Yeh
Imo getting something like a haltech ecu makes all that so much easier. Everything is basically pnp
Even for diesels cause you just say "this runs on diesel" and it converts most of the values
Hardest part is getting injector drivers and whatso
mines is too old to have any kind of electric injectors
Id like to run a newer HDI eventually but need to get one running standalone.
Tbh i think it could be easier to maybe engine swap to something newer if you cant find a new ECU that you can wire in injectors
I know (since i am swedish) there are ALOT of Volvo D5s lying around here
Custom ECU setups are really expensive for diesels as not that much traction.
Id stick with Peugeot Citroen engines as dont want to be making up mounts and custom driveshafts.
If I get a complete car will be able to make it work easy enough.
Here its not anymore expensive than gasoline.
They are more expensive everywhere are diesel injectors are more complex to control
Essentially need to have a custom driver board made.
I feel you should be able to just rip it out of another car and wire it in
But idk im more of an E85 kinda guy
I was meaning for a custom ECU setup rather than making some OEM ecu work without the rest of the car.
Alot of post 2001 stuff has some tight integration with body control
the only diesel injection you can control with just electronics is a common rail system
everything else has a mechanical component to it
well they all have a mechanical components
VP pump is basically as controlled as a common rail setup
what injection pump is on your current engine
VE
Car contains mechanical components
not at all
i know a little bit about diesels lol
same
VP injection all you have control over in the ECU is dynamic timing adjustment and injection quantity
with common rail you can control start of injection, injector duration, injection pressure, quantity, and a whole bunch more
Is that an AC pump i see? Disgusting. Better delete and sweat your butt off!
VP37 is just a VE pump but the top half is replaced by some electronics
this car hasn't had working air conditioning since I bought it, but I figured out today I'll be able to make it work with the ALH swap lol
I'm gonna finally have air conditioning, it'll be great
just in time for fall
Don't have much experience with VP as PSA went straight to commonrail
makes it annoying for injector options when MTDI'ing newer engines
Whomever took out the AC in my evo deserves their shoelace broken
It be hot
Also as a side note. Old diesels are way better cause they will run on anything from crude oil to rocket fuel
I was looking into converting a VW 2.0l common rail into an mTDI, what I figured out is that it's possible but it will take custom injectors to do
completely custom, not just modified stock injectors
It used to be quite common in the past here but the ECU's are so well understood at this point it doesen't make much sense.
you'd also have to use much larger nozzles because VE injection pressures are way lower than common rail
I'm sticking with VP37 TDIs for now, we didn't get any good PD TDIs and I'm starting to get the hang of custom ECU tuning on these
Im basically stuck with VE indirect injection setup or common rail.
Too much of a faff would be cheaper just to buy a Custom ECU heh
once i get my car running again next project will be to strip down one of my 2 spare ALH engines to start building it
one has 150psi of compression, one has 2 bent rods
Ive been tempted to build up the bottom end on one of my engines but have only had head issues heh.
whichever one I pick is getting the bore enlarged to 81mm, BHW pistons, Integrated Engineering connecting rods, ARP hardware throughout, and possibly a ported head and cam
I have a compressor wheel here for a hybrid turbo that will be efficient to 22psi of boost and will flow a TON of air with a ported head and higher RPM
but I'm wondering if I should do compound turbos
Just run a decent turbo with a VNT : )
Instagram detailers:
surge and send the head the moon
the idea is VNT small turbo, wastegated big turbo
Id like to run a VNT but know I will fuck up the control.
just get this
have one of their products on my turbo atm
thats one of the things ive come across in my research trying to figure out how to use a VNT in a compound setup without exploding it
it would be easy if I could have 2 separate MAP sensors, an N75, and a wastegate solenoid, and have the wastegate and N75 maps read off different sensors
but that's beyond my skill level lol
It's a daily so I really should leave it alone but.
so is mine lol
Have to drive alot for work so its ideal when I dont break down on the job heh
just a broken shifter linkage though, left me stuck in neutral half way through the junction.
left is stock ALH compressor wheel, middle is the turbo I'm currently running, right is the hybrid I'm going to build
33mm, 35mm, 46mm
I had a decent T2 but by some divine intervention I am sure it was on 230k miles
Stuck with a little K14 at the moment.
I had a T3 on but I'm going to go back to a K14 until I build the T3 hybrid
spools fast enough and will flow better than a VNT15
The T2 even consumed the filter built into the oil feed and was fine heh
I have to work out a intercooler setup first but not much room without cutting alot due to being older and not having a plastic frontend
Probably go with a water to air setup to save cutting massive holes for boost pipes into the structure.
VP TDIs can do the funny popcorn
what size pump elements do those have
9mm but swapping to 11mm is common and simple enough.
im used to VW AAZs and 1.6 TDs, which i think have like 9mm
ok yeah same thing basically
I have an 11mm VP37 for my ALH but it leaks a lot, need to order the special socket so I can take it apart and reseal
Id like to leave it 9mm as the 11mm never seem to be quite right
something about it messing with the dynamic advance.
alot of people have upgraded to it but usually with silly setup
like compound turbo's and a supercharger.
yeah
I used to really like the IDI engines and wanted to do everything mechanical
but tbh the TDIs are so easy
Theres unfortunetely no middleground for me with PSA's engines. this or go full commonrail.
small investment in tools, a little bit of learning, and I have way more control
ive thought about a common rail swap
i wouldnt really gain much from it though
I just need to buy a complete car really to get all the wiring
you already have a VE pump
I wonder how hard it would be to swap to a VP37 from a VW TDI and just use MK3 TDI/B4 Passat electronics
Ive though about that but never seen it done.
keep the IDI but make it electronic
the only thing you're missing really is a needle lift sensor on cylinder 3
for timing
and a crank sensor I guess
It does exist for these as very late ones had a VE pump with some semi ECU integration
was just to control the advance to replace the mechanical advance setup.
Lots of people have messed around with these and have not seen a VP fitted, but the charm of these has always been the lack of an ECU which may be why. Was more popular to mess with 10 years ago aswell.
Its time has passed getting quite hard to get ahold of now.
I'm wondering if there's some kind of electronically controlled A pump or P pump I could make work on an ALH
P pump doesn't have dynamic timing, idk much about A pumps

It got the fuel pump integrated into the injection pump?
yes?
@GordonMurrayAutomotive T.50 ripping around @WeatherTechRaceway_LagunaSeca during Monterey Car Week 2023. This car sounds like nothing else! This is T.50 chassis #2, revving to over 12,000 RPM. Dario Franchitti can be seen getting ready to take a Brabham F1 car out on the track as well.

I assume no, because not caged?
not lemons
I do love the cat...
Then again, I loved Deadmau5's Ferrari... even if Ferrari didn't.
@silent elbow Yeah this f2 race is pure chaos.
Well i just woke up
Yeah I recommend you to watch It from the beginning such weird race and chaos all they way.
Yeah and a very unexpected winner to.
Now you got me curious
Overall a very fun race to watch because of the unpredictability the F1 race cant top this for sure.
Man. The profile of the new Mercedes GT is whack. Old one is better.
Is rain predicted for f1?
About cars I'm very close to one 😄
Maybe it'll pass, maybe not
It'll definitely be close
neat, youre on the paddock?
yes mate
thats badass dude
I took the foto like 09:00 in the morning
like then its all so chill there
like right now its overcrowding with people
95% Dutch probably
I considered going, but then saw tickets were 400 per person on sunday, and it's very difficult to get there... so yeah I'll just watch it from the couch
And stay dry at the same time
And literally see more
i wanna go to monza one year
Expecting some hard rain at 16:10 (which is still during the race)
this race is a clown fiesta
Doesn’t seem to happen.
Yup appears to have shifted to 16:50
Light shower at 16:35
Although might still change

Hard rain

What happened there?
ferrari likes to sue people or customising their cars
you pretty much don't own your ferrari
You own it, do what you want with jt
Good thing I care not one bit about "fancy cars"
Pagani? Yawn. Ferrari? Bland as white paper. Lamborghini? Eh. Porsche? All beetles gussied up in fancy dress.
$1500 LT1 swapped rust bucket? Oh yeah
building your own mid engine v12 car > buying any supercar
That's still too rich for my tastes
“Light shower”
ZOAB on racetracks
Whistlindiesel might disagree 😂
they can't sue you if the car is burnt to a crisp before they're even aware of it
I kinda loved what he was doing with his ferrari
The crazy part about it is you sign a contract when you buy it
Don’t wanna deal with it? Don’t buy it
amazing race today
that only applies to the first owner
and is exactly why you hardly ever see real car people buying ferraris. lamborghini and many other options exist
Oh yeah that’s what I mean
All the complaining in chat rn is about first owner buyers that didn’t read the contract they signed
Shiiiiit if I had lambo money I’d have something built instead
Probably buy an LC 500 and give it to a shop
“Put a 6 speed in it idc how much it costs.”
if I had new ferrari money I'd build an entire car instead

can anybody here with an automatic miata confirm that if you press and hold the downshift paddle it will keep downshifting? like as soon as it's within the rpm range
i heard this somewhere and im curious if my car does it too
How many people even own an auto
Which is manual and which is auto?
76 manual
Buying an automatic Miata is the same as a vegan burger: it doesn't make any sense
Again my bad
Eh there’s people with disabilities ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Really, figured manual miata would be more popular than WRX. WRX is like 70% manual
I was wrong and immediately corrected myself
Sure, it's not their fault they're vegan
runs
ah I see
I mean like my future brother in law
He only has one arm but likes cars so
Sure that's a valid reason
Otherwise automatic Mazda's aren't great and a manual should be the only option
In seriousness I've heard there's a few brands of Vegan burgers that are really good, and it's technically healthier and better for the environment but I still prefer beef.
My last boss had 1 and 1/2 arms, drove manual.
He manual swapped his Ford Falcon from the 60's
Apparently you can only get the automatic Miata in the RF in Europe, or at least NL
I was just joking, everybody needs to determine it for themselves 😎
But generally no "meat-replacement" I've tasted came close. Some which actually were nice were those who didn't try to imitate meat
I finally found a picture of my shitbox on Woodward its way in the background though
There’s a few meat replacements that are REALLY good, but they cost so much it’s not worth it
that car looks like a Wigeon from BeamNG

Ive been looking for my cobalt ss in videos knowing damn well its not important enough for people to focus on it

What am I looking at

I take back my statement earlier
I want the latest batmobile
I want that turbine sound on a car
Is that a miata????
Man what the fuck I get 25 at worst driving like an absolute ape
If I drive with a lead foot then I get 9.8mpg
9mpg out of a 2l 4cyl
I'd get 20mpg doing like 200 kph
I was cruising at 80mph at 3700rpm and got 49 like bruh
worst fuel mileage I've gotten was like
45mpg US
lots of city driving and hard driving
2015 Mazda 6
2.5 non turbo
idk why it’s so bad
it is true I do 100% city driving but 21 is 5-7 less then what it’s rated for
That's reasonable for 2.5l non-turbo city driving
is it an auto, mazda auto's are garbo
just for fuel economy even in current times atleast on some models is quite a bit worse than the manual offering.
even on the newer models? I thought they started using Toyota parts in their transmissions
Atleast the 2 here is definetely worse not sure
Mazda 2 😳
autos are heavy and often will shift at times poor for fuel efficiency and gear ratios sometimes hurt fuel efficiency
modern auto's should be better but eh
If you drive a cvt REALLY gently you get dogshit mpg
often times I have to manually downshift because it just won’t
True, but it varies. Like the modern WRX has a CVT that allows you to optimize for fuel efficiency or power or use set gear ratios with paddle shifters to simulate a DCT.
honeslty best use of CVT imo
If I kept it under 2000 rpm in my Impreza i’d get like 19 mpg city
Is it Turbo? You might want a bit more RPM to engage the turbo which will improve your fuel efficiency. I tend to keep my WRX around 2000RPM-3000RPM and get like 28 mpg
No it was NA
It’s something to do with time spent accelerating and resulting energy needs blah blah
In short driving it harder resulted in 27 mpg city
This was hilarious, and a bit scary at the same time
Dash cam is aimed up a bit too much sadly, so we miss most of the action 😂
This was slightly scary too
we have loads of flooding like that here all the time, you'd think the amount it rains here we would have worked drains out.
where? Germany? Weren't they just in a giant drought?
I'm in Scotland.
ah
This is quite a common thing heh
need some dutch people lol
Know quite a few people that have hydrolocked their car
"just a drizzle" https://youtu.be/2iWb_ABa9P4
An intrepid driver has made it through a flooded road in Edinburgh.
we had a bad spell earlier this year, I considered routing my inlet to inside the glovebox by drilling a hole in the bulkhead so I could bomb through everywhere
dont even wanna know what the bolbo gets
definitely feels like sub 20
most competent edinburgh driver
Lambuggati
Yeah as a Dutch person, I was not ready for the amount of standing water in Germany
hell, I watched the dutch GP this morning and absolutely no standing water despite the tons of rain and the track tried super quickly. They do know their water management and safety engineering
polo looks like they might rush move into lane 2
imagine not hydrolocking your engine, couldnt be me
this post made by i have 3 engines sitting in front of my car my garage gang
i left a 2.0 ecotec in my driveway with no plugs or injectors in it
i drained the water from the cyls changed the oil put it in a chassis with a blown engine and sent it
pretty sure that thing is still on the road somewhere
I am surprised this did not turn out worse than it did.
we did redneck demon core things lastnight
it sits soooo much better now
I hated how it sat on the old dead struts
these are from before my coilovers
I drove my car through too much water while it was running and bent multiple rods, got it home pulled injectors and cranked to get the water out
put it back together and it ran
low compression engine mod
reliability 100
straight cancer
That’s more than the car
it is on lowering springs but ok buddy
currently sitting a little under max height
I still need to put my tie rod end links on and do my alignment tomorrow, then I'll set proper ride height
got it running and driving for $2200, only thing it actually needed was some suspension love and maintenance
new struts or coilovers, went with some adjustable coilovers just haven't slammed it on its nuts because I value my oil pan
next up is a bushing kit for the entire car
Prothane complete polyurethane bushing replacement kit for 92-95 Honda Civic and 93-97 del Sol. Backed by lifetime warranty. Available in red or black to ship now! 82010
can't make it fast and look cool if it's just going to fall apart
frame and subframe are dead even, never been in a wreck, all interior peices are still there it just looks like a shitbox because it's been sitting for a fat minute
Was having trouble pressing buttons and battery was dead in the radio and had to replace a dead digitizer, because it was registering at 3 inches above where I was pressing
So I pulled it all out to work on it inside and air conditioning because it’s 102 out here
Everything in this car pops off by putting on it
Yea be careful with the heat
I gave myself actual heat exhaustion the other week and that shit took me like 5 days to fully recover from
It’s screws no tabs to pull everything from the windscreen all the way down to center consul cabinet thing
There’s for holding in the radio system and two holding in everything around the shifter
Very convenient to work on if cars are this easy to work with. I might as well throw a turbo on my 2012 civic.
what are some good 4x100 wheels
even just oem ones
That cobalt i bought my gf is fucking 4 lug
I have around 6 sets of 5x110 wheels for cobalts but nope i end up with a 4 lug car on steelies
I would have just put my stock turbo ss wheels on it
i recently saw someone burn up a clutch in one of those
yeah cuz the bite point is low as fuck so it hops and bounces if you let it off too early
Thats just a modern manual for you
Kosei k1s
that's what I'm putting on my honda if I can't get a set of mugen mf10s
that's because you aren't giving enough gas when letting out
Dont think they would look good on it tbh
Give it about a quarter throttle and slowly let the clutch out.
Plus they cost 1/3 of the car
oh well that's entirely valid
Shitbox city
I’ll probably try to find some used oem wheels from honda or vw or something
Or ill spend the money converting the car to 5 lug
Your local pick-n-pull -probably has a fuckton of them
Cause then i can use saab wheels and alfa wheels
Gm has really nice oem wheels
@misty mantle
i was giving it a lot of gas it was just a low bite point
i learned manual in BMWs which have a much higher bite point
word
just means you aren't matching rpms properly for that engine and transmission
as long as you can find the bite point and hold the car right on it it shouldn't be that different
its probably different with v8 tq but i rev my car up to 3200 to start
I also have some dumbass lightweight flywheel
I can go lower. But the quick release of the clutch loads the engine into boost a bit and then i can just take off without the worry of bogging
Boost? What is boost, I have no boost

Half of the server: Laughs in naturally aspirated engine
@misty mantle
Me: laughs in cool hp noises
Turbo noises 🤢 (personally)
Both my parents vehicles have turbos. Mine doesn't
All my cars are turbo and 1 is supercharged
Actually with that new cobalt i have 1 n/a car
We’re NA all the way baby ride or die

Or until electric takes over (hurry up)
The engine in my Bronco was actually a popular engine for aftermarket turbocharging
N/a go brr
Wtf, it takes so long to return to idle
Its a cobalt thing
They have stupid rev hang
Is that a heavy flywheel thing
if you are in alot of trafiic with a maual cobalt sometines it will change the idle speed to 1800rpm
its an auto it doesnt have one
Autos have flex plates. Manuals have flywheels
I thought it was a manual ok 😔
4 spd slush box
tall gear f23 is what i want
they came in the fuel saving detuned cobalt xfe and if you stick it in a cobalt ss you have the gearing for 200+ mph
my turbo cobalt runs out of gear at 172
Manual or electric les gooooo
manual plus electric
If I end up inheriting my grandpas '96 Silverado 2500, I'll probably run it until the 5.7 Vortec thats in it blows or wears out, then find one of the detroit diesels that year of Silverado got and a manual trans and swap it
Honda insight moment
nah i just want a straight electric motor bolted to a 5 speed
I drove manual most of my live, why do you guys want to have a race car transmission in stop and go traffic? I really don't miss it
I live in the mountains. Stop and go traffic doesn't exist here
did nobody ever teach you slow rolling?
you can stay in 1st gear at like 5kph that way
idk, my DSG seems doing it fine, if I ain't using auto-follow anyways. Not possible with manual
i can sit in traffic for 45 mins and touch the clutch 4 times
Manuals will always be the better transmissions.
you just leave a big gap in front of you leave the car in first and drag the brake
here in Metro Vancouver any gap is immediately seized
And if you have to stop, just pop in in neutral and brake
not leaving a big enough gap
i leave 2 semis worth of length
you dont even have to clutch in for that
Exactly
just light pressure on the shifter and it will pop out on its own
if you pay attention to traffic you will see atleast 3/4 of the semis doing the same shit cause they are manual transmissions as well and 15x as hard to get moving
And take longer to stop as well
why do people prefer turbos over superchargers? it seems to me that superchargers are a lot better performance and sound wise
idk
Fuel economy
As superchargers need Initial power from the engine
Turbos are generally better, because you use waste energy to produce power.
I get fuel efficiency but isn’t supercharger more immediate power? and more consistent throughout the rpm range
Depends, but supercharger are linear with the RPM while turbos can focus on rev ranges
Sure, doesn't need to spool up
As said. Superchargers require power to produce power.
Turbos use waste, to produce power.
It's even easier to swap a turbo on a vehicle that already had a turbo as well.
true
I can never remember
Is it high load/low rpm that electric motors hate?
I’m not an engineer
You should choose a supercharger because WWWIIIIIIEEEE
superchargers also have a reliability issue to them
a simple belt failure means you Are dead in the water
and in the motors i deal with superchargers will peak at like 450hp max effort while turbo cars blow by and go all the way up to 900
Im pretty sure my motor also hates being blasted with 26psi of boost but i still do it
🥺
a belt failure would be pretty rare wouldn’t it
Not with a supercharger
as long as it’s in good condition and tensioner and whatnot is good
they randomly pop off even if it’s in good condition?
Well they usually have an additional 25-150hp being dumped into it
Nooo 😭
I’m gonna see what it sells for
idk if the market is still weird or if things are back to normal
I think they're going more back to normal currently
Still slightly high
But for buying it's the best in like the last 3 years
I'll be looking at this one tomorrow
(says reserved... For me
)
Visited an identical one earlier this year... Literally half the mileage and 20% cheaper than that one

Looks nice
Now I hope it's actually as described as it's literally at the other side of the country

how long is that?
It's especially the equipment which is nice for the type of car... In the US it's a compact? But it has stuff like ventilated and massaging seats, matrix LED headlights, etc etc
here that could mean a 23 hour drive hahaha
Yeah no small country, but I have to do it after work but the dealership closes at 6 so I have to leave during work ...
~300km
So 180 miles
Massaging seats 😳
Oh not bad
But with traffic that's still going to be a pain
But I've arranged I can take the development car as a test drive towards that dealership so I can do the drive under work hours
😎
I grabbed my coilovers for $300
Who needs more
yeee
honda parts are dirt cheap
I'm not doing anything to the engine until I restore suspension and body fully
only thing suspension wise I need to do is bushinga
until I find a crv donor yes it is fwd
it's not stock but it's not built built
it's sleeved with rods and a head
nothing too fancy just a little bulletproofing for a turbo
hehehe
best part about hondas is you can take the entire engine apart with 2 12mms and a 10
Check your local pick-n-pull. If you have a trailer, they would probably let you take a whole vehicle if they have the one you need. Or bid on a few wrecked ones on Copart
praise be thy late 90s honda engineers
I'm not worried about that until I get another car I can daily
Fair
for now it's a restoration project to get more practice
But yeah, those are a few options for getting a donor CRV
I smacked a 392 on my way to work 2 days ago
They should really keep the TRD stuff to the Taco and ONLY the Taco
does the 4 runner not exist to you??
Somehow i forgot about that. Yeah, the Taco and the 4-Runner are the only 2 that Toyota should have TRD packages on

let me be abundantly clear
I'm not a honda boy
I just like cars and hondas are insanely easy to maintain and build to be quick on the cheap
I'm a Ford guy when it comes to cars/trucks, and a Honda guy when it comes to ATVs and bikes
:) it's about the experience not the brand
Found On Road Dead
Yep
Pre-01 is better than everything after that for sure
yeee
my girl has a 95 3.8l mustang and for a v6 it's stupid fun to slide
the honda is definitely going to be more fun to take up the Saluda gap though
The sport is just a Escape with different panels
the big bronco I'm vaguely fine with
THATS LITERALLY MY PROBLEM
same engine
same drive train
same skid plates
The Full-size in the back is my dads, the Sport is my moms, the II in the front is mine
Bonus, the II and the full-size are both manuals
h a w t
this honda is my first manual
I'll never go back to an auto my dudes
it's just not possible
My dad had wanted a 2-door hard top manual, but all the ones our local dealer had were higher packages than this one. This one was on the lot because someone backed out of it after it was delivered. Got it at sticker price because my dad goes through out local dealer for fleet trucks, so he knows a guy
Its a '23 Big Bend with a dealer installed lift and Mickey Thompson tires on beadlocks, with the 2.3 turbo and 7-speed with the crawl gear
The Sport, My mom had traded in her '13 Explorer that she bought new from the same dealer for. Sh had test-drove a new Ranger, Explorer, and this specific Sport, and chose this.
The II was a Facebook marketplace find and was going to be my dads, but then he ended up getting the '23, so the II ended up in my hands
I find it weird Ford doesn't sell the Bronco Sport in Europe
Quite certain I'd sell well
Because it would make too much sense if they did, just like bringing their European cars over to North America
I know that the Bronco itself is available here at the very least
The trim levels we have is the Outer Banks and the Badlands.
Thats justifiable. A lot of your roads aren't as big as ours and cant fit a truck with wheels that stick out past the fenders, or just a truck on stock suspension, for that matter
My dads Big Bend has aftermarket wheels and suspension, and the wheels stick out a good few inches from the fender
Brum brum
MR2?
Yeah true they added those this year I think
Yeah true, imagine Ford doing sensible things
One Ford in 2010s, yeah how did that turn out

Celica mk5
Ah
may I suggest looking at some MR2 photos
I'm not that good with imports
I can tell haha
I'm a Ford and Chevy guy
Everytime I see your car I want it
I guess the only "imports" I can say I'm really good with are Honda Bikes and ATVs
Even then, my rancher was manufactured in the US
Lmao, i also wanted it
I got a ford here
Puma, used to own one
I don't need a second car.... but
I doubt this works at all
Is funny tho
You would be better off using a leafblower
Watch more full episodes here: https://bit.ly/2JqZJa1
It's fall, which means it's leaf blower season. But as we found out on Roadkill Episode 16, they can actually add power to a car. The car in question: a '78 Monza Spyder with a 305 V8 and a four-speed stick. The guys then swapped the engine to a 350, added five leaf blowers and took it to a ...
I seen that done by mightycarmods
What do you get when you cross a rusted 1971 Datsun 240Z with a Chevy 4.3L V6 and a turbo from a Ford Power Stroke Diesel? The Rotsun! During Roadkill Episode 25, Freiburger and Finnegan revived the Rotsun expecting it to dominate in the 9-car autocross showdown of previous Roadkill project cars. It also needed to beat a 2014 Kia Rio 5, but fail...
Literally the rustest car these guys have
True
Mines also rusty
99% of the time nobody else in the car
in my case anyways
unless you carpool or somn
Holes in the floor and frame rusty?
I got 1 hole in the wheelwell on the rear driver side i wanna get fixed next month
Thats nothing compared to most vehicles in the salt belt here in North America
It was rust free last summer, so it pains my heart
How much power is the STI?
172,000 miles relatively mid. My '87 Bronco II has about 187k Miles
something ain't right here. it shouldn't have that front bumper
It's a factory wide body or something
20v silvertop 4age head fits right on the 4afe block
50ho increase
Yeah same
And If people join, they should be happy they can go along 😛
I mean it even has heated seats in the rear, it's already well equipped for passengers
What makes this car unique is the factory supplied wide body kit. This was a factory option offered only for the 2 liter variant. This is the same kit that is also on the turbo and Carlos Sainz edition. Only 10 of the latter were registered in the Netherlands at the time. Of the wide body probably even less because in Belgium and NL the turbo was not part of the Toyota program, this body kit was only offered by Toyota in Belgium and the Netherlands. The kit was a costly factory option which is why only a handful of them ended up on Dutch plates, of which this is probably one of the last original Dutch wide body versions.
holdup, toyota offered widebody on the regulars???
even weirder that it has that bumper then. it's the style of the pre-widebody gt four bumpers
gt four widebodies were 1991+
They did a facelift in 92
Apparently it's also the last ever registered in NL (in 94)
91
It is registered as
TOYOTA CELICA 2.0 LIFTBACK GTI E2
My celi is the last registered celi in Belgium thats not under oldtimer plates
lol, this one is quite cool https://www.marktplaats.nl/v/auto-s/oldtimers/m2005044981-toyota-celica-2-0-gt-tc-16?correlationId=a8b6d3f4-cd1f-4916-a7e0-3ab33fc8bf53
4th gen
I wish we had shit to check how many of x is left here in canada
Such low kmmmm howww
https://link.2dehands.be/m1958010146?utm_source=android_social&utm_content=vip&utm_medium=android_social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons
now I wish the 20th anniversary cars would've been produced a few months later, could've been widebodies then lol
That's a very nice kilometerstand
He had to stop driving to get that pic before it rolled over
https://www.2dehands.be/v/auto-s/toyota/m2014289332-toyota-celica-1-6-sti
1.6 benzinemotor met een vermogen van 105 km.
Yeah that's awful
Painted the valve cover nicely tho
Other than that
Uhhhh, tf are those rims, steering wheel and spoiler color
Yeah, this person has a distinct lack of taste
The steering wheel is probably the worst part
If youre gonna change it, get a good one like what the hell
Really nice custom steering wheels aren't even that expensive
for context: 1000 20th anniversary celicas were made for the 1991 MY between 90-12 and 91-3. these were top spec GT-Rs with 4 wheel steering, TEMS shocks, 4 wheel abs, allll the possible features. 1/3 were manuals, rest autos. all Identified by being ST183s with the 742 paint colour, and their obvious 20th anniversary stickers
I wanna get a specific momo one and thats 250
you're expecting the poverty-spec AT18* celica owner to have good taste?
Gt-r in japan, shipped to eu is only like 5K
OI
I got poverty spec
No abs, TC, power steering, factory radio, steering wheel tilt, power windows, aftermarket roof windows ect ect
Buuuut, i am the 2e owner
Why have I transitioned into buying other things on 2dehands.be
I check marktplaats, fb marketplace and 2dehands along side each other
I'm actually going to buy some speakers I saw on here a while ago that haven't sold yet
I got headers, only to find out my original exhaust doesnt line up at the bottom
Gonna need to get p i p e
ABS on 5th gen celicas is rare. It's gonna be a struggle to get that all working again in my 20th AE. my regular Celica doesn't have it
though it's toyota... so it's definitely not specific to the 5th gen
Trust me, i have less grip accelerating, compared to braking
Especially in rain, toyos are shit in rain, mine at least are
This year I gotta be sure to get my winter tires on in time
I missed out on driving the one day we had decent snow
This year i gotta get winter tires
though... the suspension uprights with speed sensors are hard to find. without abs you only have the left speed sensor, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing the right upright
And not try to make it till summer on..summer tires
Yea, i used my summer toyos in winter cuz i was broke
Very very little grip, but i made it
Just gotta watch oit for changes in the road like, asphalt to brick
I was forced to buy my summer tires because for some reason I bought my car with winters on it 😂
I mean, that's a problem even in summer 😂
There is like a tunnel near me that has bricks in it
Can't make loud noises in that tunnel
Well kinda can
I make loud noises in every tunnel
car just goes everywhere
I just wish there was a miata exhaust that didn’t sound like 4 banger dogshit
I'm still looking for one 😂
love doing this 😂
Probably not great for the clutch though
oh that misses some seconds from the start
Sadness, wont play on my phone for some reason, even downloaded
That does seem most likely, haha
Clearly I should have gotten a cloud connect dashcam
Foolish consumer I am
My PS5 are stupidly grippy
I've made them less grippy by running them at higher pressures
They're at 2.5 now instead of 2.0
A lot less grip
On a warm day with proper pressures I can't really spin the tires
Same, shit spins constantly, and i only got 105hp like bruh
Next are Bridgestones
My 142nm of torque are just toooo much for the toyos
does Miata have lsd?
I’d hope so
Driven an NA and NB but just didnt have the power without massive clutch kicks
but hey not my car
as cool as popups are they kinda get in the way if you are short heh
you will never have an old school supercharged v8 with that attitude
driving blind
nice
you ever played in the snow before? do some sliding
how about the absolutely nothing differential
Done that on a ATV. Funnest. Shit. Ever
a quad atv? or like a Polaris 4x4
nice
My dads. I don't have the money for such a nice quad, nor do I want one that new with EFI.
My quad is a '03 Rancher
Carbs for life
And this was when I still had a sport quad
Only picked up the rancher like 2 weeks ago
@misty mantle I want an atv
Honda is the way to go.
The prices hurt
Used
They still hurt
I’m too poor to understand this image
Damn. What are they going for in your area?
I have a good trade offer for a kdx250 right now but I was specifically told not to get a dirtbike
$2000-$3000 last I checked
Which models?
I got my '03 rancher for $3400
Basically anything you can still get parts for
What exactly are you looking for out of one?
I just want something that I can get parts for and have fun on
its not a dirt bike. its a halfway built supermoto
My mother forbade me from bringing motorized things on two wheels home
But the kdx is a very good deal for me
She sounds like my mom
same here
Except that extends to 3-wheelers as well for me
I brought it home and she still wasn't happy about that
Rip
i bought a pocket bike a few years ago and my mother literally drove 30mins to come yell at me
The deal on the kdx is the wheels on my foxbody for the wheels on his foxbody, the kdx, and the riding gear
The moment I move out, I'm grabbing my grandpas Honda 55 to restore and grabbing a Big Red off marketplace
The only catch with the kdx is that the bottom end is blown up
So basically anything '90 and on
But it has a brand new wiseco top end
Are you looking for anything really reliable?
wiseco is good
i have their pistons in my cobalt
Nope
Just cheap purchase price
I can fix it if it's broken
Any running one is gonna be $2-3000 and up
No but the owners have
I might do this kdx trade, fix the kdx, and trade it for something else

it dissapoints me how few cars came with an lsd
Because I'd love to keep the kdx but it sounds like loop city
Especially for a first bike
get a drz
Fact
Also two smokers and me don't get along
go tell people you miata has a worse diff than a cobalt
Hondas are the most reliable. Kawasaki and Yamaha are also pretty good. Polaris is ok, but not necessarily something I would recommend
My three wheeler is a Kawasaki
blasphemy
But impossible to get parts for because it was a one year only production
I want a big red
Would say sizuki, but those are mainly 2-strokes
i want a little one
Those are the killers
Adults would ride them and flip over
I love the R8
i searched honda big red on google and got 3 wheelers
i searched honda little red and got delsols and fits
The big red is a model
That’s what the big reds are.
Honda 3-wheelers
The line is the atc
The small frames are 125s I think
Perfection. https://youtu.be/AndH7Xm3ds0
In its dynamic debut on camera, the concept, build and performance of the sensational Tuthill Porsche 911K is revealed in this adrenaline-packed new film from Collecting Cars. This lightweight bespoke sports car uses a vast amount of carbon-fibre to keep weight to a minimum, while a 3.1-litre flat-six engine with a rev limit of 11,000rpm produce...
the licence plate for my gfs car came in and its dogshit
ive got random plates that are relevant ot the car before
like i had a black ss with z24 in the plate which is a trim available for the cobalt
and i had a supercharged gran prix with m90 in the plate and m90 is the model of the eaton blower on the car
what model?
ooh, thought about getting a C70 from early 2000's
yeah, struggled to find a good manual one
Blame the engine tbh
I was really looking at that EX30 but 200mi of range for 40k is a hard no
Nah redblocks are where it’s at
It’s mazda mx-30 and soltera bad that’s all I remember
You don’t want a indestructible tractor engine in your car?
Depends
How much
Nothing beats the sound of a turbo 8 valve straight piped Volvo
In my car it’s mostly just fan noise past 3000 rpm
Sounds kinda like my WRX just you can less bassy and less squealy
WRX will shake the whole block up to 3000 RPM than scream like a hellcat until it gets to 5600 RPM
7500
my volvo is at 313k with no errors
actual engine or tach?
tach, I think it's accurate
my cobalt hits fuel cut at 7600
tack goes to 8k people with valve springs can hit 8300 and then you need a standalone cause the ecu wont go higher
wouldn't want to pass tach anyways, like my char to be reliable
those are fun for me to race
pure devastation on their faces
idk why they act surprised
i make abit over 100hp more than they do and weigh 1400 pounds less
chargers like 43xx pounds
cobalt ss is 2950 i think
The new ones maybe
The new one is 485
I make less than it then
Still gap tf out of them though
Im thinking of the 00s chargers. Those are dog shit slow and i leave them in the dust but newer ones are a closer race
I feel like gearing would be more important in this instance
Rip L bozo
real
not to be a fanboy or anything (im a fanboy) I think Mazda has some of the best reliable semi cheap pretty luxurious cars
definitely the best interiors in the price range
Part of me's thinking of doing something when I move
The Typ-2K Caddy shares a ton of parts with VW's Beetle/Golf/Jetta/Rabbit of the same era (A5/A6-generation)
Import a Typ-2K, then swap the 07K?
A tune and intake will get me past 200hp
00s gm was the king of cheap luxury
It’s kind of crazy how luxurious my MX5 is
That’s like the biggest takeaway from owners of older generations
They always mention how luxurious it is
Yeah but that's with basically all Mazda's, pervious gens were like plastic fantastic and then the latest gens are all pretty nice
They made a switch to be more "up marked"
Don’t you mean “upmarket”? 😂
Welcome back VW original part no 199358500A
Special permit?
Yes but fast autocorrect while typing on the can
Nope. Our work site is just right in the middle of that crossing. Will just have the laborers close it down if we have to.
So I took my car to the tesla service center for an alignment. It was 379$ Canadian. After 2 hours and a half in there they told me my car had some parts to be replaced. The front lower control arms and the rear knuckles. They covered it all under warranty and removed the fee for the alignment so I got a free service. They also gave me a Loaner car. Over all great service with them surprisingly.
Hey. That's sweet.
Indeed. The warranty saved me 380$
And the loaner they gave me is wayyy faster than my car
Alignment is required. Which is why they paid for it
I know
Still. At least they found some problems and fixed them. I wonder why the lower control arms and knuckles got damage
Could have been why the alignment was off.
Their interior and exterior designs are some of the best under $100k hands down
They need to work on software desperately though, especially on the CX-7 and up
good way to convince people to upgrade if they've already been thinking about it but not 100% sure
It's pretty standard practice for alignment to be free if an alignment-related component is defective under warranty and needs to be replaced. Every dealer is different and some try to charge customers for warranty work.
The solution to stopping phantom traffic jams is for people to stop tailgating and maintain an equal distance to both the car directly in front of and behind them.
they are wear items now. the days of just changing bushings are gone
what have you been in?
my 2015 with the leather perforated seats aren’t too hard
but very supportive
big bolsters or whatever they’re called
mazda seats are made from rocks
Rocks good
Seeing a non GT mustang
It makes V8 rumble
Makes WIIIIIIII noises
It also tsutustsutsu
My miata is peeing itself
If you have a turbo AND a supercharger on the same engine, you are doing something wrong
Tell that to Volvo
those motors are junk
I saw a V70 the other day
Nooooo
Turbo+supercharging a 2.0L not built for either is a bad idea? Say it ain’t so
it was done on cobalts and didnt go well a single time
Well yeah
They just took an existing block and slapped some FI onto it
Did it end with malace in the combustion palace or less power?
people would make like 450 hp when the turbo by itself would make 380 and the sc by itself 250
Oof
they did it by taking the turbo system from the turbo motor and just slapping it on the sc engines with the sc still there
Jesus
In other words, they would have probably gotten the same amount with a tune
would be like 1/2 the cost to turbo swap the whole car and choose a bigger turbo
and more power
Yurp
But still, sounds cool
Here is my Supercharged and Turbocharged aka (Twincharged) 2007 Cobalt SS. The install was done at ZZP and it is there custom Twincharged Kit.. I asked for 400whp and they gave me 412whp.. This is just the beginning and will be updating with more mods and results.
heres one with dyno numbers
@fathom socket
@misty mantle
I can’t hear any sc whine so I’m out
410 WHP and 377 FT LBS of torque, not bad.
twin charged cars dont really do that because the turbo muffles the noise
Though I'm still not a fan of twincharging
Fucking worthless then
the turbo is compressing ait and then sending it to the sc to be compressed more
thats around want i make just turbo
Why not have the SC feed the turbo? Instant turbo power
Idk how twin charging works I just know noises
because it would become as restriction
it would try to make a vaccum in the intake
cobalts with just a tvs blower is what you want to hear
