been a few years, i think they got over 200 mph

Simplicity is key for this Civic! Or perhaps not.. This savage took a completely stock 3.5L motor from a 2002 Honda ODYSSEY, slapped some Acura TL Type-S heads/cams in it - as well as a stock (TL Type-S) 6-speed. He was generous to leave enough room for a 72mm turbo, and what has come of it? 800hp and a 189mph trap speed at the 2016 Pikes Peak A...

I almost refuse to drive auto, manual is much easier for me to focus with my ADHD

only thing with WRX is the clutch only lasts about 70k miles but it's only $2k to get it replaced by the dealership, that's in CAD so about $1500 USD. Headgasket gets about 200k miles but if you watch the oil color and get it swapped before it blows than it's relatively cheap.

and flinging around

#

and then its gravity

ember bobcat
#

hard to see but the gunk stops exactly at the centerline of the trans

#

clean metal after that

misty mantle
#

Oh, its a manual.

dusk ocean
#

There's a number of places trans can leak

#

E36 😦

ember bobcat
#

well if its coming from the bellhousing then the only place mtf would come out of is the input shaft

#

in that case it should be an even spread

#

not to one side

misty mantle
#

Most forein thing I have worked on is the engine in my ranger since its a mazda motor

#

and I'm selling that

tired sundial
dusk ocean
#

@fathom socket when fluid leaks in the bell housing there is a ton of whippage that goes on, it splatters everywhere, picks up all the gunk from clutch dust, and then finds its way to the the flywheel/block and drips "down" which is the right side of the block

#

not saying that's it, but just could be

fathom socket
#

Mazda motor >>>> ford 4 banger at the time

ember bobcat
#

i guess

dusk ocean

I may have a photo of one hang on

ember bobcat

still think at least something would reach the other side

#

not absolutely nothing

dusk ocean
#

No nothing will reach that other side

ember bobcat
#

well

dusk ocean
#

its like literally always a leak/drip on the right side

ember bobcat
#

now im just curious why the input shaft is even leaking

#

it didnt leak before

dusk ocean
#

unless its leaking SO bad its dripping out of the trans

ember bobcat
#

not to my knowledge

misty mantle
dusk ocean
#

Yah so first you need to find out what it is

#

then we can talk about why

#

Did you replace pilot bearing?

ember bobcat
#

yes

dusk ocean
#

How aggressive did you need to get in order to get splined shaft thru the clutch/flywheel/pilot?

ember bobcat
#

not aggressive at all it was like butter getting it all in

dusk ocean
#

ok that's good

ember bobcat
#

most annoying part was the dowel on the starter

#

e36 thing

dusk ocean
#

yah I think E34 is two bolts

#

and nut

#

or at least bolts

#

@ember bobcat

#

so that was a leaking slave cyl

#

almost NOTHING from the starter side of the housing

#

you have to rotate the trans like 45 deg in your head

ember bobcat
#

theres still some gunk past the centerline

dusk ocean
#

Yep - but it threw me off, ebcause nothiung came out the "bottom"

ember bobcat
#

but yea i guess mostly on the opposite end

dusk ocean
#

only on the same side as yours

ember bobcat
#

what color was your fluid

dusk ocean

If it flows juice at idle or off it will come out the bottom of course

Yeah, filters are often blown out of proportion of how much they affect performance.

At the very least, stay away from both K&N and Fram.

I'm just gonna stick with the stock filter. The tune I want is 86hp to 130-140ish. It'll be a huge difference I assume.

solar rapids

That's a massive increase. What car is it, and what are you planning on having done to it?

it's a vw golf 6 with a 1.2 liter engine. It can be upgraded to 105hp with a software update (there's also a golf 6 with 105 out of the factory, same engine)

sturdy tree
solar rapids

7.35L/100KM is 13.6KM/L.

sturdy tree

I think it's a bit more efficient than that

16KM/L is 6.25L/100KM.

sturdy tree

15-17 depending on road conditions and the weight of my right foot

solar rapids
