Dit is mijn vroemmobiel
pfffffff
maybe a better picture
ja okay nu is t logisch
Mijn broer wel
ja je moet vooral doen wat je niet laten kan
it’s an angry little thing
Even duur als 95 in NL dusja
merkte je er iets van
niet op zaterdagen mn heren
ik ga vaak naar czechia op vakantie, das ook wel goed te doen qua prijzen
en leuk rijden
Any car will actually make more power/be more efficient on a fuel with less ethanol
Mine does like 600+km per liter of petrol
yeah but how much more
So the additional liter price doesn't matter to me
I love that this isn’t a typo
lul
Same
E10 vs E0 it’s like 2-5% last I checked
I would not want to be you
Going to work would require a third mortgage
I don't even have the first 2
Our generation never will
for 15% more money, I like your dedication
I'm in the ballpark for one this year or next year
There's hope

wait what??
Stonks
Well
- additives
- I don’t really trust what the ethanol will do in the long term
- I think my car can actually make use of the higher octane too
you do you dawg
My car runs on LPG, it starts on petrol but when it reaches temperature it switches to LPG
So I barely use petrol
If you are using the car often enough ethanol shouldn't be a issue on something that new
That’s actually reason enough to not want ethanol
Exactly
It sits too long in my tank
That's also why I always put in just 10 liters
Otherwise I'll do more than a year with a fuel tank
Seen some documentation in the past that says 5.3% ethanol is the max you should put in
Is lpg just natural gas?
ohh
anything after like 2001 should be able to handle 10% just fine
where tf do you find LPG?
LPG is basically waste from refining oil to diesel and petrol
If you don't use it for stuff like running cars .. they literally just burn it
oh cool so recycling pretty much
Wow I’ve never seen that here
Wel come
so you’ve got 2 separate tanks?
Nah the petrol and lpg goes into one
is it any danger in a crash or is it not more of an issue than regular fuel is
oh ok lol
Yeah that's why it's generally cheaper than petrol. Especially in Belgium where it's basically not taxed besides VAT
Lmaoo
Often only E10 is available here so me and friends run it in old carbed stuff.
idk how this stuff works 😭
See I thought that was extremely obvious
I have the standard petrol tank
And a second one for LPG in the spare tire well
my fuel lines are already totally replaced as rusted through from outside.
did you buy the car like that? is that a normal thing
that sounds so cool
It’s a common conversion here
90% of American imports get converted
that’s really cool
No brand does that any more
Dacia "does it" but that's installed by dealers, not at the factory
Chevrolet spark you can (or could?) get with it from the factory
Dealer install
Awful car
Same with Mazda 2
Or importer install
Opel's were actually installed at a separate line in the Opel Factory, Opel Special Vehicles
Mine is also an OSV cars
That's also where they made police cars, driving school cars etc from the factory
The guy installing, can it get more German than that
About this... No, the shape of the fuel tank makes it very strong and can basically not break
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG or LP gas) is a fuel gas which contains a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases, specifically propane, propylene, butylene, isobutane, and n-butane.
LPG is used as a fuel gas in heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles. It is increasingly used as an aerosol propellant and a refrigerant, replacing chlorofl...

can 2023 f1 cars take pouhon flat out on a perfect dry day?
p sure
Reliable bolbo
based
Had a weird idle where it felt like it would occasionally hiccup so i cleaned the tb
312k no error lights
I’m surprised a Volvo lasted that long
So I bought my gf a car, anyone have experience with these, I like it so much I’ve driven it more than she has
Well that looks like the dark generation of Subaru's so rip. But it's not turbocharged so it should be fine.
Volvo go brr
Dark era for Subaru?
It seems nice so far 82k miles, I didn’t read much bad about the crosstrek so I jumped on it
Yeah head gaskets were only lasting 1/2 to 1/3 as long as they were supposed to. That generation is what caused the memes. Transmission and clutch were also extra glassy that generation.
not exactly a car but i just brought a new motorbike
and it looks nice
imo
leximoto lxs 125
isnt it the non turbo engines that have issues
During the dark generation the non-turbo did have issues. But the turbo were significantly worse. That's why WRXs disproportionately blow headgaskets compared to the other Subaru's with the higher compression.
i think im thinking about the gen before these cars. like early-mid 00s n/a foresters would eat gaskets for lunch from what ii heard
im almost entirely subaru illiterate.
Outside of the dark generation the turbos were the only ones who really had issues. But even with the head gasket issues most of the cars outside the dark generation still are very reliable. The WRX engine lasts just as long as the Supra engine. Both around 200,000 to 300,000 km. But head gaskets are relatively easy swaps if you catch it before a complete failure. Once it blows than you gotta remachine cylinder heads.
Not sure about early 00s Foresters, but I know 2007-2013 was the worst for all Subaru's. 2015-2022 was probably the best performance wise and still good looking. 2000-2003 and 2006 was best aesthetically.
Dealing with interiors without clips is nice.
That’s reassuring lol hopefully no issues
nearly $58k for a rwd 2.0 4 cyl
remember when you could get an m5 for that money?
it doesnt even come with a 6 cylinder
europe got that horrendous pricing
Most people dont have a brand new luxury saloon heh
the front of the g60 looks weird. the headlight looks like the e60's
Netherlands*
damn
waiting for doug demuro to review the g60
Is it just me or has Doug viewership dropped?
I'm also not as interested in it as I was before
same
I'm guessing it's part because he does less of the work himself.
Yeah the combined videos were too cringe to watch
It's not only that. But before he would do EVERYTHING himself.
I think he had an "editor" for a while if that's what you're referring to
Yeah, he has now. But before he would do literally everything himself. And he did for a very long time.
6 videos in the last 6 months have broken a million views.
manufacturers are smoking nut
I understand regulations forcing smaller engines but lmao, drop the v6 and do an i4 hybrid
AMG dropped the v8 for an i4 hybrid
@feral reef it wasn't me, I swear!
https://www.autoblog.nl/nieuws/alcomobilist-crasht-audi-e-tron-dreigt-met-honkbalknuppel-3527275

that’s what someone who it was would say 🤨🤨
Fucking alcomobilist
imma put that in part down to the algorithm
I used to get lots of recommendations for him but I havent seen one for ages now
One of 61 manual F06 M6 gran coupe
Gauges for my brick
ronal teddys
Fun
Is that a charger?
And they have a Maserati?
Fiat is one of thos companies that not many people hear from but are still a competitive option
Ducttape
It melts
Jb weld
I think its time to look for another vehicle
I wish
So is a missing door
But boss won't give me new one. Also it would be natualral gas one
What kind of company lets their employee drive a dangerous vehicle
Some countries standards are just something else
Polish companies
Also mine isn't dangerous, it's just badly maintained and it's Fiat basically
I just saw a P1800 wagon.
I can already hear that V10 growling
This one is a v8, it’s based on the F10 generation M5
So fiat says they wont do boring colors anymore, but will paint other brands in boring colors
Love that
Well, they seem so similar, I thought it was the E series one
What, ok I got it mixed up
I tought for sure that one was the E63 one
But that one is the uglier one
Guess I was quite wrong
Can distinguish between a F80 or F82 but can't a M6 xD
I love how there's a button with just nothing on there
You guys should go barefoot or electric it's better for the environment
being a car guy surely comes with a lot of advantages like seeing a heavily tuned car once was enough to narrow down a lot of stuff
we should go back to horse buggies and turn horse manure into renewable energy
Better than these dough Dickie gol gadgets
thats a tiny car
Very normal average sized thank you
thats just a motocyle with 4 wheels
got a new compressor wheel today
left is stock for my engine, middle is the one that's currently on it, right is going on when I rebuild the turbo
More tip height means it won't handle high boost pressures well, but it'll handle 25psi with a lot of flow so it'll be perfect when I go 2.0l and port the head
and the inducer is way bigger
Parking it next to SUVs is unfair
Most cars on the road are SUVs lol
not in most of the world
I am unfortunately trapped in the land of excessively large vehicles

Here I'll put it next to something slightly smaller than an American SUV, an American...
except it is
This car looks so small i could just pucj it up and hug it
My dad just sent me this
give, I want
I love small cars
I'm begging for a fiat 500 abarth that isn't made by fiat
So basically I want a Honda E with a 3 cyl and a manual
Saw this bmw up for sale, I wonder how expensive this would be to fix If I do it my self and if it is even possible
Ignore the exhaust leak lol, but i made my civic sound like a subie with a UEL header a while ago and welded on a Skunk2 muffler, catless pipe, and a yonaka resonator (i promise the leak is not from the welds lol)
why ☹️
your neighbors hate you, I promise
House next to me sold a while back, maybe I'll get them a welcome gift ( a loud exhaust for my car)
I'll send the RDW a welcome gift with your license plate and a complaint
New shoes for my bike
New tires are on
first glance I thought that was a BMW R100 based on the tank shape lol

pretty much a tundra with a 3rd row isn't it
nope
This is going to be more 4Runner/GX sized from what I can see.
Tundra with a 3rd row is a Sequoia … or series 300 Land Cruiser
gotcha gotcha
So what Toyota revealed today is the 70 series refresh, a new Prado/4Runner, and some teased stuff in the background.
465 lb/ft of torque good lord
50k starting price what the fuck? That’s a gargantuan price drop
Because it's essentially a prado
I know but damn
why does this look like a game????
I know that's it's called a cutting board.
But that doesn't mean that you should cut it up.
@civic spoke
Van Life?
I was fortunate enough to be able to have this spaceship over the course of the past weekend
it's the current 7 series featuring the 32" 8k display in a 32:9 ratio
Was a blast to drive, I tried the 740d xdrive (299hp, 670Nm) and it was lots of fun!
I recently saw 3 of them driving in a row... what a hideous front! On the M4 etc it has grown on me but this... 🤮
looks 10 times better irl
I've legit had 2 people complimenting me on that car on friday, they did seem to like it. Also, it actually kinda fits as much as I hate to admit it.
I'd take that thing blacked out tho.
that depends on the damage. Is the chassis warped then I'd steer clear of that thing. Also, sensors could be damaged from this.
Might also just be some bodywork, a paintjob and a new door
10/10 wouldn't bother with it
yeah
Yeah the one the current gen M3 and M4 looks good now but maybe that's because the latest gen BMW is even worse.
Sorry but in my opinion that grill on the new 7 series is even worse then the grill on 2 series loaner we had a month ago.
on the 2 I agree it doesn't fit
but the 7 really needs the size imho, smaller ones would get lost.
The big thing imho is that you really gotta see these cars in vivo, they do look so much better. Same with the new 2 series coupé. The M2 does look really good, tho a little worse than its predecessor
Honestly I can’t stand the pig nose grill, it looks awful
understandable
look like bugs bunny
After considering the car its not worth the risk for me. I’ll be keeping an eye on the auction for another opportunity that might pop uñ
then again, I like the bmw i8 so ignore me
You what
The i8 is a great concept for its time and it does look nice
I love the concept but damn was it too early
A modern i3 hybrid would slap so hard
If a two seater car is good for you I recommend you to look up the Aptera. Cheap solar car that will release next year
I saw it IRL... I thought it looked worse than in the pictures
I like it on the 2 better than the 7er... Although it also depends, in an M-Sport with shadowline like there it's okay, on a Luxury in chrome, nah
what's teh point of the 8k display or is it just marketing
Exactly that: marketing
8K 32:9 is what, 2160 x 7xxx?
Yeah shadowline really helps this one didn't have m-sport.
But the lights on the new 7 series just makes it even worse.
Oh my bad, well the shadowline then
honestly the full dash screen is a cost cutting measure
it might wow rich people but it's absolutely cheaper than a real cluster
I like it even more becuase you can se everything that you need without looking away on the infotamient system and you can control everything that you need to specially very nice to have while using navigation.
basically a huge fire tv with youtube included. It's a car with emphasis on the rear right seat.
@fathom socket it's also kinda better imho. Real gauges might be lookin nice but this is actually more usable and imho it's got real good visibility. Also basically no reflective glare so you can see everything even with sunlight on it. 7640x2160 I think.
sure for a 100k car
but they're also pushing this junk on 30k cars and it's just...no
true
real clusters are nice
I mean there it really IS just cheaper but also way better usable with a proper controller even tho OS8 is pretty neat with touch controls
still hate the fact they force touch only in entry models
Its a luxery car made for the rear seat passanger and huge tv makes sense then. And they probaly wanted to have something cool that Mercedes doesn't have in their s class to make People get the 7 series instead of the s class.
Quality alone does that
the new honda civic is a good example of good interior design tbh
I'll take that over all the screens
fair
honda makes nice interiors now kinda
for the segment, yeah
Tell me anything that is better with an analog gauge cluster over and digital one.
what?
the only real one is navigation kinda
that's what the center console screen is for
but navigation on one of those digital clusters looks like a bit of a... clusterfug
yea
Much easier to se when it's right infront of you and I like that you change basically everything that you want while driving without needing to use the infotamient system.
digital is fine on high end cars with the budget to blow on nice screens that can properly handle the environment
but on affordable cars? it's awful. The screens are never bright enough, dim enough, or properly integrated
VW literally has the worst digital system to ever have existed
Might wanna try a BMW then. Those are.
BMW is not "affordable" here in the states lol
cheapest one is the 2 series and that starts at $40k
got my 3 series a year old for 42 grand
but yea I get you. Those cheaper ones barely even have proper screen integration
yeah I'm talking like corollas, civics, jettas, that kind of stuff
like this is my miata's cluster
I mean, I get it. But as always
cars do have to be refined somewhat
yeah.. THAT truly IS garbage.
like, I prefer physical buttons and a controller for the infotainment system over that full touch nonsense
Still better then the analog one that we had in our previous Passat. And it does what you want it do easy use and can you customize enough for you likings.
it's a VW, did you expect the analog to be good
Not much worse then any other car analog cluster i would say that the analog in our previous Passat was better then the analog one in our BMW.
BMW analog gauges just look basic af
But honestly its not to bad what more do really need in drivers display then this.
Yeah our one has the optinal hud which makes up for it but yeah the but regular one is very basic.
the hud is great on BMWs honestly but I haven't seen any other huds tbh
But the best of both worlds is the one that porsche is using analog in the middle and 2 screens on the sides.
problem there is the infotainment tho
that looks absolutely atrocious
But to be fair in 99% of the time you are just using Android auto/carplay anyways. The only cars that has good infotamient is BMW before the latest gen and the cars that use Android automotive and the one in Tesla cars is pretty good to.
I disagree, especially on luxury cars a lot of users use the car's system is my experience
OS8 is also pretty decent. OS7 did have a way nicer settings menu and more customizability but it's still a great system.
And yeah, I don't use AA because the system itself is pretty decent and I do have native spotify integration in OS7.
AA is more often used in cheaper cars I reckon since those systems just aren't really all that great and google maps is pretty decent.
Well most people still use the Android auto for navigation and spotify and stuff becuase it just easier and android auto gets updated with you phone so it will never be outdated.
still most people don't really seem to use that since the car systems are really better on higher priced cars (at least German ones) so there is no need. Also, they do get updates OTA as well.
Not really, as often the OEM stuff is better integrated with stuff like heads-up display, adaptive cruise etc. Additionally, many of those systems get or will get updates
The 2 series loaner we had used OS8 to and I found it harder to use then NBT system in our BMW they have made it wat to complicated. It was just easier to use android auto which was very nice experince specially when you can get google maps in your guage cluster trough AA on OS8
that's what voice things are for, besides that I hardly think it's harder to use but at the same time everyone is different
I'm literally developing the infotainment for Audi and Porsche, they're spending a fortune on it as it's very important for their biggest cliental
Trust me, they've done the market research
high end silly goofies
please do me a favour if you haven't already: Make it so we can connect bt phones without having to have the ignition on. Please. Everyone else does that already yet the Cayenne Coupé I sat in didn't have that and thus I wasn't able to check the audio system at the dealership
and yeah with current systems they can actually monitor usage and such
I think it does, but we currently have the system running in an older E-Tron so it does not work exactly 100% like it would in the end product
Might be that the module responsible for that isn't power with the ignition on... Of course there are multiple units controlling the 1 thing
Like personally, that would already scare me off if I can't do that without the ignition :/
I can't say it with 100% confidence, ours is all hardwired now through a physical switch and can get power regardless of the ignition of not
As it's dev
dang, do y'all not even get production models at all?
Uhm the controllers are production
But it's mocked in an older E-Tron
At least ours is, there are fully "functioning" next gen prototype cars driving in Ingolstadt. Which should have it integrated properly
Our E-Tron just has the new screens mounted before the old screen, controllers under the boot floor, cables running everywhere etc
oh I was about to say that that would be bonkers if they didn't even try the production models
kinda does sound dope ngl
Oh yeah no there are actual "production" models but there's only a few of those... And reliability is so-so as they need to be followed by a tow truck constantly
So as we only focus on the infotainment, we have a proven/reliable production car
But then with the new tech built in
I mean obviously you gotta alpha and beta test that stuff
but like, especially VW managed to mess it up big time which is super hilarious
I can't go too much into details due to NDA ofc
But yes it's hilarious
I remember from Auto Motor und Sport, that Bloch guy. 3 weeks GTI driving and 40 or so times the infotainment just crashed
100% understandable
but the way that system works..
We do have Caddys at work. When connecting the BT music and opening the menu it actually does take like 2-3 minutes to transfer song info.
Time resets when the next song starts playing and also when you exit the menu for a brief second.
It's a catastrophe

Lol that's very odd
also like, up to 30 seconds until I can change the AC temps
Works instant in my 2012 Corsa
that is on 2 similar cars btw
Yeah that's Android booting
also works instant in my 2021 3 series
I honestly dislike the touch only focus on these systems tho
If I understood correctly, the system will already start to boot when you unlock the car to minimize that... But yeah if you're quick than too bad
like, OMG TESLA DID THAT
SO NOW WE GOTTA DO DAT TOO
like, come on. It's a garbage system in an even more garbage car you're overhyping for nothing
prolly try to do that too shortly after switching on the ignition
and yeah but also it weirdly doesn't apparently
Hmm can't find any leaked info about the interior of a next-gen E-Tron or Porsche so I can't comment about the touch controls
I always find it weird that stuff like the infotainment needs to boot that long but the driver display is instantly ready
different control units
just hope they'll be fine
infotainment one loads the driver display first then
Yeah it's more important to have your driver display than music xP
Totally agree
at least they are illuminated unlike the Golf 8's touch bar controls

Whoever said that that is fine hopefully got fired
Yeah that's ridiculous
and funny asf that people really bought that
Only test drove it during the day
even funnier than Mercedes illuminating the turn knob for the light on the BR 212 gen but not the settings themselves
and prolly assumed that it would be illuminated
this here
I mean I would too, never seen a button unilluminated in a car
Bruh I hate that in the old mock E-Tron we have, it's a touch sensitive button you need to toggle between settings
to be fair you barely even touch that one but for parking lights it would be really good to at least have those iluminated
oh wait, like in a touchscreen so no button beneath you gotta push?
Those are great on the current Mercedes wheels
Whenever you steer you're defo effing something up in the infotainment cluster or driving screen and that sheese doesn't even accept like half of my inputs for the CC
like, that would be great if you could feel the button. Then it's fine imho
kinda but tbh when do you use any other setting than auto?
It was foggy recently and they didn't go on
like, I do have buttons on my 3 series and I barely even touched them
WHAT
HOW
gloves?
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/E1cAAOSw8PxhZW3I/s-l1600.jpg
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/l48AAOSwX51kXoQe/s-l1600.jpg
tried the upper one but both are garbage as it is the same tech
Oh the mk8 GTI ? That thing sucks infotamient wise my brother had one at his job which they sold just because the infotamient was so bad. Like it took like nearly 1 minute just for it to boot up.
I hate the adaptive cruise function btw... Or at least the road sign recognition. We have 130 between 7PM and 6AM, other times 100km/h
But the ACC Immediately y33ts itself to 130 when it sees that sign

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/test-drives-initial-ownership-reports/2433565d1679851865-2023-bmw-7-series-g70-test-drive-review-6e7ef30507e34f61a802177b2e94ad87-2.jpg this wheel is a great touch iteration because IT JUST WORKS
sign recognition is really bad on the Benz in my area but BMW is also not 100%.
In Lübeck where I was on friday last week that thing worked like a charm but these systems do need like 1-2 generations in order to fully work I reckon
yep. The golf mk 8 infotainment is just garbage
Pleae give some help to VW this lag in unacceptable for a 2023 car.
The worst thing is, it recognizes both signs, and a time sign underneath it. I can't see which time sign tho, it only displays a clock
Nah fam, it's "Stand der Technik" as they'd say in Wolfsburg
Totally different system, and yes horrendous
oh satnav lag does exist everywhere but that one looks like an old tomtom
Oi TomTom good
Hope the system in the id7 is better otherwise that car is no go for us but from the early reviews it looks alright.
I would steer clear of VW in general
the quality is just
different
like, the ID Buzz does have caddy sliding doors with even cheaper handles
The one in the Model Y was very smooth but other then that i have never seen a system that runs constant 60fps.
Well we want EV wagon and the ID7 seems like the only EV wagon that will come out in the next year or so. The interior quality looks good so far but we will se when the production car arrives.
I hope you're gonna be happy with it then!
The A6 e-tron looks good to but that would probably be close to €100k
legit just got in the 3 series and it took like 3 seconds to load up the satnav
like, immediately after getting in
and spotify also kinda immediately started playing
That's way smoother then 2 series we had with iDrive 8. And miles clear of every VW loaner that we have had in the past 2 years.
oof, might also be that that 2 series AT had a different system bc no controller
like, the one in the 7 series was BUTTER smooth
perfect system btw
I really love the finer details, never seen anything like that on other cars

Ez pz.
Just don't have a nav or a fancy infotainment.
but that was the same interior as I had in the 7 series
~ average company car driver
That's more than the Q8 E-Tron 🤔
I think even more than a base Taycan
Yeah forgot to add its company car we would never get an VW otherwise they just in general and good deals for company cars.
Too bad BMW butchered that and put it all in the screen again
Skip to 04:00 for the best part 😬
Not if you add some option to it.
Well you can add options on the Q8 E-Tron as well
yeah the climate controls are in the screen but tbh even I as a touch hater have to say that it is actually kinda fine the way they did it. You got the trim under the screen to rest your other fingers on so you're basically never falsely inputting stuff and you can also control it with the idrive controller
Like, I personally am fine with that even tho I thought I would hate it
Power seats? Not standard. ACC? Not standard. Stuff like that
didn't have the moisture in there but that is the curse coming with many newer LED lights
Smartest Norwegian Tesla owner 🤓 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie79Jk9Ob2s
Disclaimer: Don't try this yourself. Tesla might void your warranty.
I tried my Tesla Model X P90DL on an offroad track in NAF Trafikksenter, Våler, Norway. To my surprise, the Model X did it quite well and was only stuck once in that very deep dip.
Tires used: Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8.
You can get free supercharging when buying a Tesla Model S...
Yeah don't you just love it when you see a 2020 car just out of warranty with a broken LED headlight and the replacement is 3k

I mean technically it aint broken
it was rigged from the start
but yea I get ya
Planned obsolescence
Ngl I hate that the most about new cars
You can't just fix stuff, you have to replace it
And then it costs you a months worth of salary
What are they going to do when the cars have depreciated? "Oh your headlight is broken, please buy a new car"?
yeah but tbh with some exceptions (hello VW and Mercedes) car reliability has gone upwards.
but yeah, it does suck.
Well I've even seen stuff as new as facelifted X3's where the angel eyes or how you'd call it are broken
Ofcourse
and we gotta have it in relation
Yeah
But electronics have only really started to improve since like 2014-2015 or so
Imho there should be a way to get it repaired, and manufactures should provide instructions on how to especially on stuff like LED lighting
Imagine how much headlights would cost with rotating elements in it

3€ for the motor but since you gotta buy it as a unit we'll add some happy little zeroes

Toyota's GR Corolla Core is a ton of fun, but is it worth the extra costs and wait time?
Discuss on the forum: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1523522-i-have-made-a-very-expensiv...
but tbh with all the German laws I wouldn't be able to repair them anyways since light units mustn't be changed. You know it I guess
TüV sagt nein
15 bucks per month for connected services? That is more expensive than BMW connected drive wth Toyota
Our previous Passat from 2017 was in once that wasen't for regular service and we had it for 3,5 years. Meanwhile our current passat from 2021 has been in like 8 Times already for diffrent stuff that has gone wrong. And the least time was for oil leak on 2 year old car🥲
Our BMW hasen't had any major issues in our ownership and it close to 150k km now. Only issue we had was the recall for the driver side airbag.
HOLD UP!
25 bucks for streaming music and up to date navigation? PER MONTH? Fam BMW wants 199€ per year, this here would be like 300. Are they mad?
OOF
and yeah the airbag thingy was a big thing because of Takata. Many cars had that issue.
Mercedes had an issue with the steering rack once where you could induce an electrical current just by rotating the steering wheel quick enough and set the airbag off
Yeah my brother also had that recall... New airbag doesn't look as nice tho
Didn't it go in limp mode recently?
But the airbag thing was quite nice thing because we get a new loaner free of charge. So basically just you got to drive a new car for a day.
Well yeah for like 1 hour and then it disappeared and we asked BMW if they could check and they said that it wasen't anything to worry about.
I love it when my car randomly goes into limp mode
Just modern car stuff😀 btw the Passat Just went crazy today and showed like 10 error massage at the same time and it just disappeard like 5 sec later.
those guys from Niedersachsen are so dramatic
Kek then you haven't seen the messages from the guys from Ingolstadt

I get every warning message when I start up the infotainment... Makes sense as it's missing modules but some of the error messages are hilarious
It also thinks we're on a Dyno, all the time
Specially while driving and it starts to brake by it self for some weird reason it said something with brake failure and a bunch of driving assistance related stuff.
Oh very nice
I often get a notification Predictive braking not available, see owners manual... Which is very annoying as without it, when you let go of the throttle it just coasts
Which can be very counter intuitive as you expect some "engine braking"
With it on, it regens when approaching a roundabout, intersection, when there's someone driving in front of you etc
When it works it works very well
when it works

Fact
I think I've pinpointed why it sometimes goes wrong... The predictive cruise uses the satnav and maps of the original car... Which are outdated, and then road situations have changed so it thinks we're off-road
But, that means, when you don't buy the updated Maps... The predictive cruise doesn't work
🥲
Or might not work on certain places
which is literally stupid but that sells the subscription model
Yup
Ngl the connected services have a lot of advantages in the new system (although I can't share them here)
Our current Passat has been a little like the early model s and model x experience with random breakdowns and issues just randomly appearing https://youtu.be/Wanr0LThvkM?t=16
During my routine trip from Bergen and back to Oslo, the car suddenly broke down without warning. I lost power to the motor and free rolled. Fortunately, there was a large parking lot right nearby. Even after several resets, it was not possible to drive the car. A tow truck had to be called.
You can get $1000 discount when buying a Tesla Model ...
Something I really liked about 225Xe loaner was the adaptive regen breaking it actually worked really well and felt way better regular Regan breaking on EV's and hybrids. Hope that more car manufactures will adaptive that feuture.
Yeah so when it works it's really great, I tend to use it as much as possible
We have a new road here which is like 20km straight which it doesn't now, but crosses a few old country roads. Predictive braking spaces it then
Our Passat sat nav is very outdated it doesn't know about roads what was build before the car went into production I think it runs late 2019 map data even if VW said that the car will get OTA updates and map updates. And it shows a McDonald's that was closed down in 2018.
That should get better with the new system
Although that's not for the Passat level cars
Here from the GR video, I recently became a GRC owner myself and it's the best new car I've had
It is indeed the best car
They should make it as the wagon
Little Honda Fanboy here. Have the car for about 1,5 years. I'm thinking about doing some little mods.
Yeah the GR yaris is a underrated car would happily have taken the yaris over something like Golf GTI.
Haven't had the chance to see the yaris in person yet
It looks weirdly proportioned on pictures tho
My other car is a 2009 997.2 c2s, now I'm barely driving it anymore since I got the GR
Tip for Linus, find dyno mode
Locks it on fwd and it's the most fun I've had with it
Wait have Linus bought a GR yaris ?
Would never a thought that he liked driving that much. But I guess the Porsche Taycan was a hint 😀
The taycan, as every other performance ev gets boring within weeks
Sure the 2s 0-60 is fun
But how much till it becomes monotonous
The instant g force is only cool in the beginning
Meanwhile, the gr corolla makes the most boring of drives very fun
But the Taycan is by fair the most fun EV right now that isn't the Rimac navera but that car is like 2 million $. And you don't get the Taycan if don't like driving then their is way better EV option in the same price category if you don't want the sporty driving experience.
Debatable, the fun factor is taken out when you realize it's the most unreliable porsche the last 2 decades
You're paying for nothingness
Literally get any other EV that's not a taycan if you actually feel the need to be an EV nerd
Yeah my brother has a Abarth 595 competizione which is exactly made for that and by fair the most fun car I have driven so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJMbvgIzNm8
My other car is a 2009 911 997.2 c2s, by far the greatest car for the money I've ever seen. Bought it for 34k after cost, registration and tax, also very practical ish
He didn't buy it right?
no he didn’t
My dealer wanted close to $80k for this Morizo
I paid just 4k markup on mine
Dealership still broke out near 50k after tax and everything
~~Less than the sticker price of the GR Yaris in 🇳🇱 ~~
I think the GR Corolla looks great
80k for a Toyota ? isn't that more then what the new Supra goes for and you can get like decent brand new 718 Cayman for that amount of money.
I could have gotten one back in March but I couldn't justify spending 60k for it
End of the day, it's still a corolla
70k GR86 says hi
😛
Gr86 lol
I so want it to be good
But the FA it has holds it back from being a car worth the insane allocation costs and waits
Oh the GR86 isn't even available in my country anymore
Probably as it was the same price as the 2.0T Supra

€35k in Sweden 😎
"Sadly it's not available anymore"
They sold more than I expected
13 cars
But yeah it was €67k.. and the Supra 2.0T is €69k
Tough sell
Surprisingly the Supra sold even worse... how
5 in the last 2 years, 44 in total
Damn that's some prices lol
Already 23 exported and 1 scrapped in Sweden out 77 cars so far.
Yeah uh I can get a GR86 under 40k here I think
Probaly just demo and press cars.
Initially looked into buying the 86 last year
Even then, way too much press cars
Then decided to wait for the corolla
And often press cars of Toyota here are on Belgian plates
As that's the EU headquarters
GR Yaris pricing was also brutal
€60k
~66k USD
€37k and €39k here good value i would say for that car.
I regret not optioning white more and more each day
Msrp for the core/base here is 39k
Depending on dealer you'll get a markup from 5k to 15k for the base
So expect to pay at least 50k for one
I have a white car... and I like black more on the GR Corolla 😛
I prefer white on the Yaris
It's not on the configurator, but I can download the pricelist here
Oh it's even more than the previous screenshot
It's now 63.5k and 66k

23k of that is emissions tax, and then it's similar to your price in Sweden
Imagine paying 23k of emissionstax on a 1.6 3-cyl turbo
Yeah that's very reasonable☠️
On the premium model, Toyota get's ~33k and the government ~30k
Who needs dealer mark ups
hullo friends
i joined because i saw that linus has finally seen the light, what a great car the corolla is
i know people at the forums aren't particularly happy about it but I think it's a great contrast to the hyper-complicated and heavy porsche taycan :P
Buy a new car in the Netherlands = government donation 👍
Noice mid engine
Yup, except for PHEV and BEV
That's why there are quite a lot of those nowadays
for now
So you have regular prices on them ?
Yup
BEV has 0 emissions tax, PHEV usually <1k
So that makes them very compelling
Additionally, no road tax on BEV (25% on PHEV), lower company car tax on BEV...
here old ICE cars are getting de facto banned, but mine is luckily on the line, so it's probably gonna be 5 years until it gets banned too
I bought a torque wrench so I can torque my wheels properly
based
i have an obsession with torquing things to perfection
even things where torque isn't really important
hell if i could get torque specs for computer parts i'd use them too
Then you get a top 10 which looks like this (basically all except the Picanto and Polo is BEV)
Actually surprised the Polo is that high, I don't really see them that often
is the 208 BEV too?
Wait you didn't have one yet?
I went and speced a Q8 E-tron to my likings and it want up to €106k thought it would be more actually. I thought that it would be priced nearly the same as the model X but apparently its way cheaper.
ICE and BEV but we have a ~50/50 split between ICE and BEV
e-208
also, i used to own this but had to get rid of it because it got banned 😭
Same for the Corsa
nice
our laws here for modifying cars are very harsh, I would love to convert some old car to electric but it's not allowed 😭
or at least put an electric motor on the rear axle
Mid-engine MR2 is basically a Tesla Roadster
well there is a relation yeah... same engine as the lotus elise S, and the elise was the basis for the roadster
Top 10 so far in Sweden the Polo haven't been on sale since 2020 here.
Not missing out on the Polo
Pre-facelift was ok, facelift made it horrendous
And the price is ridiculous
But often that's they base company car they give you when you cannot choose, it's often the "standard car"
it's also funny because apparently my car's engine is supposedly EURO3/4 but the elise S had it even after EURO 5 was stablished, which leads me to believe its actually compliant with EURO 5 already but only lotus has homologated it
Could be that they changed some stuff on it to make it compliant
apparently no, it's the same engine
i asked lotus people and it wasn't changed at all 🤔
to be fair the mr2 did already have extra catalytic converters to make it an ultra-low emissions vehicle
so perhaps that was enough
My Corsa engine is in base still the same as like late 90's but they added 16v, MPI, VVT, EGR, upgraded cat etc to make it compliant throughout the years
Top 10 most imported cars in 2023 is a bit interesting i guess Swedes likes Freedom 🦅 🇺🇸
But yeah maybe that already was enough
funnily enough the engine in the MR2 does have its own form of EGR, but its done using VVT
some black magic
it's also why it can ingest parts of the precats and grenade itself
yeah i think the mr2 integration of the 1zz wasn't particularly stellar
so many wrong things
But Toyota's never break
and don't even get me into the fact the piston rings are undersized so its burns oil like a 2 stroke
i mean it never breaks, you can just remove the precat's contents and its gonna live forever
the precats only act when the engine is cold, so it should still pass emissions fine

alternatively japanese people make different headers with better precats
but that's illegal where i live
another fun fact, the 2zz swap is very popular here, people modify it to disguise it as a 1zz so you don't get fined
since the engines look very similar it's apparently doable
LOL
Gg
you should see the shit people do
painting suspension components so it's not obvious they are aftermarket? that's basically a tradition here
i worked at a comopany where we shared warehouse with a drift team
wildest things i've ever seen
a RWD golf, a 2jz e36
naw just live in the rust belt and just start flex-sealing it
i do a lot of redneck engineering, my celica had an industrial thermostat to regulate the A/C because the one in the car didn't work
Hey, why u shaming
Lol well you bought fancy wheels, I imagined you changed wheels before
No, that’s what the tire guy is for
But if I’m going to be doing my brake pads, I gotta be able to do it myself 😂
tyre guy is for fitting to 300nm
Let me know how that goes, I need to do that too
Me “let’s save some money”
Also me “buys €350 worth of tools” to “save money”
I save money by renting a unit and having a 4 post lift heh
You’ve got the economy of scale working in your favor 😂
Loads of rust buckets that need constant attention
Tools exceed value of my fleet
Classic
Quite hard to get a unit at the moment, would suffer without mine.
Hear about people getting kicked out / rent tripled.
never cheap out on shit, my friend had his rally homologation special burn down due to faulty parts
if I turbo muh bolbo 2.5 I5 but use clear plastic hoses will that work
i wish
we can't even have kit cars 😭
no caterhams for us
The gubermint dont know my 305 has a turbo diesel but who cares
here was a crazy guy in eastern europe who put a 1.9 TDi inside an mr2 like mine
it was wild
Mot's are optional in the Kingdom of Fife
fun fact, in spain we call the VW 1.9tdi the "2czechZ" as a pun on the 2jz
I usually go a bit overboard and get the most needlessly expensive shit
i wish i had an elevator tbh, i have a pit but it sucks
this reminds me i need to fix me handbrake
but i have to remove the fuel tank to fix it 💀
An elevator would be odd ngl
My grey one handbrake doesen't work but its on a "leniant" MOT
nah, mine can't even hold the car on a very mild level
on a flat surface you can just push it with the handbrake on and it will move lol
same I have a chock on my driveway heh
i live in an flat so i have a parking on another part of the city, luckily it's flat so the car doesn't move
otherwise i just put it in gear
parking in gear is fine but my driveway is like 45 degree heh
i did once have an issue entering a parking lot, because i had to get out to grab a ticket
since it's RHD
and for some reason the gearbox was unable to hold it
never had that happen to me ever
driveway's the main reason I have a unit as its just impossible to safely jack a car up on
man i wish i didn't live in the country of no fun allowed, there's so much shit i want to do but can't 😭
can do anything here so long as you can insure it heh
minor service
there are some things that are illegal even with infinite money
entire wiring loom pictured
You can do whatever in NL as long as @stoic ledge doesn’t report you to the RDW
was looking at a slightly bigger unit but fmm
annoying as you can only really fit one car inside
I bought some very Dutch looking axle stands
so you have an idea how annoying they are here
i almost failed inspection due to having an aftermarket air filter
I forgot to attach a vin plate once when going for a MOT heh.
this reminds that there's a very wild mod for the mr2 that somehow lowers fuel consumption, makes the engine deliver more torque and make it pollute less
it's basically adding an spacer fo the MAF
not sure how the hell that works but it does
My black license plate stickers got taken off during my APK last week 😂@stoic ledge
oh yeah stickers are also a clusterfug here
i had a friend who had to remove the stickers he had in his rear "window" (very small ones)
but not the gigantic one in his rear window
Have to put a stopper on my throttle for the MOT so it doesen't reek
he ended up crashing the car a while ago unfortunately
tested at N/A diesel smoke levels.
rest in pepperoni
the stickers on the side windows are the ones they forced him to remove
Lmao
Someone tried to steal a friends escort so he had a piece of white plastic as glass which was fine heh
did you just say no windows?
wtf
he crashed it :(
after he had already repainted it
here's a pic of it taken by a kind stranger
wow they even measured their speed to send them friendly advice that driving so quick on those roads is dangerous
what a kind Samaritan
whats bigger, BMW M8 GTE or Nascar
Good day letting my cousin rev my truck i just got working again going to teach him how to drive hes 15
some CAD stuff from my vault
Was working on the truck and made this...
seen worse
Waiting on the mechanic to fix 1 problem so i can fix 5 others myself once i gt it back
sounds about right lol, had mine at a garage for 3 weeks for a steering column rebuild, and in that time got about 3 weekends worth of crap to put on the car
ugh autodoc
Garage has had my car for 3 weeks now and ive had no updates on it yet, the one time i need a garage :/
New toy
Everything is a D if you're brave enough
Wera
Very nice
Better than mine, I think it's the cheap line of Hornbach
At least you had one before now

How much did it cost?
bloody ell
looks like that torque wrench in da yookay is about 200 euros
My 1/2 is just a £50 US pro one as needed something that could go up to like 280nm for hub nuts.
I had a massive really expensive one for a while from some train job but got annoyed one day and used it as a ratcheting breaker bar.
lost its torque wrench functionality
Is that also the car's top speed?
pc cardboard prolly earns more than the real polis
New toy.
If I am able to remove the safety bolts on my sister's Golf. Then I'll switch over all her wheels to the summers...
Kind of want to throw those security bolts in the bin.
Petrol one is a bit slow, need back in the turbo diesel.
Very nice
I was too busy staring at a old volkswagen then was shook when I noticed PC cardboard
Always cool seeing those
I've seen one of those older pickup models. That seemingly was used for actual work.
I wish all torque wrenches were that cheap 🥲
+.00001 hp

I’m not sure if I notice any difference in power but I do notice a difference in engine noise a bit
Good choice going for an upgraded inlay filter instead of a cone
i noticed a difference in engine noise when i didn't close the air filter housing all the way
yeah
it’s not a performance car so I shouldn’t try to make it one 🤷♂️
this is just a nice quality but most importantly reusable filter that may or may not improve performance or mileage by a little
I’m running out of tread on my tires but I’m gonna wait until just before the rainy season to get new ones
in my mind tread is only really super important off road or in the wet, neither of which is happening until then
well I do go on a dirt road to work but I’m going like 10 lol
did this on my e46 once but the o-rings cracked in the winter so I used zipties, looked terrible lol
then went through a spot of water and it ripped the fake M series bumper off
Model is specialized fsrxc comp 2013
nay
Why?
from this one pic I'll guess that the front fork could beed servicing at some point if it still works, seat, chain and chainrings at the very least look shot too
for $550 you can get a 4 year old hardtail that will perform way better
It’s just dirt
and if that's the only pic it's probably stolen or smth
Yeah, no
that bike is really old and outdated, not really worth much
looks pretty rusty to me man
unless his chain came that colour of brown
it was a fairly good bike when it was new
Old != bad
if it was treated a bit better it'd still be solid
but the technology has come a LONG way that a semi modern budget bike will be better than that
I'm aware, I'm building a 1998 GT right now as a city bike
but it needs a kinda bigger service than I would like for a $550 bike
I’m not looking for a city bike
esp if the fork or shock is buggered
I’m not going hard tail
bikes from the past 5 years are SO much better than bikes that age
hardtail is where its at
Not for me
what riding do you do
I cracked the frame on my last hard tail
presumably le jumps and stuff then
Yup
couple wee cases here and there
i ride jump/flow trails mainly and my hardtail serves me well
some technical rocky stuff but not much
a modern hardtail will handle everything better than a 10 year old full suspension bike
I’d like to say otherwise
have you ridden a modern hardtail bike
I had a Norco storm from 2017
Yes
storm isn't really a modern hardtail
It is
the geometry is completely outdated
A 2018 Norco Fluid HT3 would be way better
and still in your price range
It’s not
how much is a polygon xtrada 5 or something similar new there
You may need to check the currency
I’m Canadian
so am I
could prolly do better but that'd be a rather solid option new from what I sell
@carmine summit I’m also not getting a hard tail
if you're buying a 10 year old used full suspension then budget for a fork rebuild, shock rebuild, and full linkage rebuild
So don’t recommend a hard tail
which will probably cost around $4-500
Or
I could get everything checked out
Old suspension is fine
forks and shocks have service intervals
I know
bearings and bushings have service lives and need to get replaced over time
This guy has had it consistently serviced since he bought it, and has shown me the receipts to prove it
have you got other pics
the guy took the listing down
im coming by at 8 to check it out
if its not in good condition, and doesnt ride well, ill back out
During the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed I filmed the GMA (Gordon Murray Automotive) T50 on track where the car reached its incredible 12,000 RPM rev limit. The 3-seat hypercar is powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine coupled with a manual gearbox and is heavily inspired by the McLaren F1.

don't we all
Should hear the x3m
@carmine summit the bike was better than I thought
It’s an xc comp
Full air suspension
Front is a bit scuffed, but seal is still good
Speaking of bikes, I dented my rim at Whistler
The owner of my local hair saloon drives a gr Yaris
damn the amount of bad takes under the corolla video are WILD
Its a decent car ngl
Our police department bought 2 for traffic stops
(The corolla gr)
They are good dailys
What can you expect i dont that the main audience of ltt knows even what GR corolla is. So they dont know the difference between the regular one and the GR version.
