Vectra C wasn't too bad... Depending on the engine tho yes. Insignia A also depends, generally there's quite nice cars but then the petrol engines are generally underpowered, so you need to go with a higher spec. Biggest problem with it generally was the weight, it was just too heavy. Generally the facelift (A2) is better tho

Last Insignia (B) is a great car, it's what I'm looking for as my next car

Although prices need to come down a bit

Then again, on longer hauls with a fairly... active... driving style (passing motorhomes on mountain roads etc), I get away with ~27-28 MPG.

My day to day though... short journeys, never really getting the car warm enough, my actual consumtion between fills are in the 16-20 range....

The 525d my cousin has (same generation) can do 50+ MPG (US) on long hauls.

That's awesome he was able to give you some guidance! If the alt is good you'll typically have 13.8-14.3v or so at the battery with the engine running. A full battery should be about 12.7v at rest, so if that's all you have with the engine running, or less then the alt is shot barring a connection issue

1991 dodge daytona Shelby. I have to pull the engine out and pull it apart though. Had a miss, and then got stolen. Them driving it with a miss I think caused detonation and cracked a ring land (cracked part of one of the pistons).
