this is what volvo says: Differences: Size
From the outside, it's easy to see that the 2021 Volvo S90 is a premium full-size sedan whereas the 2021 Volvo V90 has a station wagon body. The S90 is designed to provide greater comfort in the rear seats, while the V90 has greater cargo carrying versatility.
USA only gets the V90 Cross Country, no?
the us gets the s90 which is the sedan
That's an S90
Um 2500kg tow capacity for one ๐ some of us need a wee bit more - like double.
i believe all v90s in the us are wagons
S90 is sedan
V90 is Wagon
yeah
UGH Which makes me hate the C40...
How is this less practical?
It's only more practical when you compare it to the S90.
the station wagon body allows for more storage space so i'd say it's slightly more practical than the s90
I agree the wagon provides more space than the S90
But I never mentioned an S90
I said V90, and V90 is equally as practical as a V90 Cross Country
It's literally the same car
Yupp.
With slightly less ground clearance and without the plastic cladding
my bad, i thought the v90 had multiple versions
So an actual wagon
2low
Bags.
That makes me sadge.
Me too
The V60 is a really nice size.
It's a great car
T5 with 250hp, also plenty
It was red
Everybody knows red cars are faster
And now he has un ugly ass iX1
Yeah exactly that spec
oh ok i understand now. this is the us lineup
The hybrid should technically have slightly less storage space since it has batteries and such.
Apparently they're equal according to the specs sheet? Both 560L
Huh. I would figure that the battery would eat into the capacity.
Maybe for the V90 it's just underneath the car
Yeah the v90 is huge but the interior space is quite bad compared to something like Passat or Audi A6 that 650L boot space.
551 Liters on the V90, 488 liters on the V90 Recharge.
Yeah when counting the spare tire well
I think that's the most stupid thing to do
Spare tire? Don't you mean a can of dreams and well wishes?
Iirc VAG used a different way of measuring, I'll see if I can find some actual liters
LxWxH
V90: 115x113x70
A6: 115x103x72 (42cm until load cover)
Height is the A6 slightly bigger, but actual useful dimensions it's not that big of a difference, it's actually the V90 which is bigger
But somehow VAG gets it bigger on paper
( @brittle totem )
All about how squared off it is inside, I guess.
Just did the maths... Volvo actually just uses the "square" available space, e.g. lowest height floor-roof, width boot etc. So they're not counting underfloor storage, pockets on the side, roof slightly going up, boot getting wider when the rear seat is folded down etc
I just noticed that the A6 has a way smaller boot then the Passat The A6 has 565L and the Passat has 650L didn't know that difference was that big. My dad had V90 has rental once on business trip and he noticed a big difference in interior space compared to Passat specially the boot space. https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/compare/volvo-v90-2016-estate-CC-vs-volkswagen-passat-2014-estate/
Often the case with pReMiUm cars
Stuff like a Peugeot 308 SW also has like 610L or something like that
Edit: 608 apparently
Edit 2: old one had 610 liter, so I wasn't wrong
While being way smaller than a Passat or A6/V90
But you can see, wheelbase is longer of the V90, that's where most space went to
I remember the Peugeot 307 SW had 507 liters and the 407 SW... 407 liters
Octavia actually has 640 so barely smaller than the Passat
audi s4, bmw 5er, toyota gr86
thats my ideal car garage in 10 year's time. if i get them before 10 years, i'll be super happy
Jokes on the volvo a golf variant has 600
And well passat is one of the boxiest estate, volvo konda lost the boxiness
Yeah the Audi having a smaller boot and no more legroom than a passat is a joke
pReMiUm
But the Passat packaging is amazing - doesn't even lose boot space on the plugin hybrid
The best packaged car is of course the Touran
the world's greatest car
It does? GTE is 483L vs 650L of the regular one
You don't really notice it as it's all underfloor storage
Makes you question if you should measure the understorage with the combined storage
Same with a front boot.
In my opinion... No
Or list it seperately
Additionally, there's no guideline for it.
Or well there are
But there are multiple
Which are all allowed
VAG is using the one where you can count every nook and cranny
How is it even measured with pickups?
Volvo just the directly usable space
Yeah. Which is nice.
The Ford Lightning is something else.
Because there you have the bed, as well as a massive front storage.
You know what sucks about trunks
I think with the Lightning, they just list dimensions for the back, and the content of the front storage
No matter what size they are nothing is going to ever be the right shape
This is why i say we should make everything out of a liquid so we can make the best use out of our trunk space
I'm sure a liquid will work
Ford Lightning is insane. Pickup with a Golf boot
I wish that was a requirement for everyone
Too bad I get proven wrong every day
As a shit driver, I'm sorrry
We cant figure out how to make everything a rectangular prism so no space can ever be perfectly filled
And it pisses me off
Have you seen a fucking couch? Holy shit.
I hate moving. This is why bachelors dont own furniture.
Well on a ev the understorage space can be quite big specially on Teslas and on our Passat we can easily fit quite a lot of smaller things under the boot floor sense we dont have an spare wheel in there.
A car channel, I guess they knew that I would join this server!
A mi me gusta coches.
Sorry, that was Spanish.
Roast it
Sport King tires
If there's something it is definetly not
It's being sporty ๐
Nio ET5 Touring announced today, I think it looks rather good
It also has a v8
Looks nice
Yeah more EV wagons are a good thing, even if they're Chinese
Taycan wagon.
Yep
This is a taycan wagon. The taycan cross.
I like the normal one better.
There's also a non-Cross version of the wagon
Which is ofcourse... better
I do see similarities between the Taycan Sport Turismo and the ET5 Touring
ur in britin right?
B+E was abolished here anyone can do shonky shit now
You're absolutely right
And there are similarities but the taycan has a more sporty design, which makes sense since it's Porsche.
Nice to se more wagons on the market clearly the superior type off car specially over SUV.
With SUV's, I think we might see a low car revival? As it's noticably more efficient
Time will tell
Sure different target, but both look nice imho :D
Holy cow, I did not see this!
That's amazing and also terrible
I would be terrible at driving a trailer
I should not be allowed to do so
but apparently I am
up to 3500KG/7700lbs
I really wish we got this in America
Only a few more years till I can try to import one.
Why would you want one of those?
I loved my smart car when I had it so ild like to try their other options
The chassis is quite great on those
Transmission is horrendous
And quite underpowered
You really want the Brabus version which then is OK in power (100hp)
But you also want the manual, which was only in the base model (61hp)
Mid spec was 80hp
The 61hp does 15.5s
Brabus 9.8s
I don't want a manual.
And I just want a nice small car to get from point a to b . As my 21 Hyundai Elantra is too big. And availability for parts for a 98 Suzuki carry is not great. Which those are also manual ...
The fastest I go is 85 mph on highway.... Most of my driving speed limits are 65mph or less..
maybe lol
Yeah.. yea, genuinely a decent question
My cars so fancy it was in a movie :^)
Is that the actual plate
mhm
Which car and which movie?
the 305 on the left and that one was Our Ladies 2019 or some pish
What year was the movie set? 1999?
90's
I like how they look for one. And their small and quirky
My 05 silver Elantra is in the diner scene in Ted 1 or 2 I get them confused where they throw cookie crisp in the person's crack

Why does everybody hate Ford so much? I don't understand.
I don't either
Clearly not photoshop
BMW 5er?
Could be the i5?
Likely
Hard to tell with that short of a clip.
Yup
Where in the UK is that?
Edinburgh?
mhm

Anyone has idea what is this sticker on my trucks. Some have it and some don't.
I believe that that is a sticker that shows how bad a vehicle is for the environment and if i remember correctly u need one of those for going through Germany
That's not the umweltzone
Is the sticker green orange or red on the other side?
It says euro 6,but idk for what it is tbh
I have never seen that
Some trucks had it and some didn't
๐ฆ
That sticker also indicates that the vehicle meets the euro 6 emission standards
The place that was closed and my boss doesn't make me go trough.
After searching for a bit i could only find info abt the emission standards
The only tunnel I did was the t2
I don't remember how that tunnel between Switzerland and Italy is called
It was hell to climb with a broken truck
It's not for Germany, they look different.
The 'GR UN 2004' is the car's license plate
Gronau (Westfalen)
No the one that goes from Switzerland to Italy
Finally, ANWB onderweg app shows fuel prices in entire Europe now

How long did you touch it for, lol
less than a second is enough
Is that a Volvo with a scud side badge? If so I love it
Still love it
Another day, another Ged roundabout moment
why arent there any markings on the road dividing the roundabout in multiple lanes
Scuderia Volvo
it's a volvo thing
They're boxy but good! ๐
I kid, but a friend of mine has a v60 polestar and it's an absolute hoot to drive. Way more fun than I expected it to be
xD
f type is such a gorgeous car
I love Astons too, but I canโt tell any of them apart
Then again, Iโm a 911 guy, so Iโm not going to throw stones from my glass house on that one
rip
Oh man somethings been pinging around in there lol
yeah timing chain broke piston cracked and a chunk flew around
happened in like 10 seconds
did the piston smack the valve?
looks like it
i cant tell with all these weird piston designs these days lol
it didn't but the chunk of piston ruined the valves
the bearings and rod failed too
coolant oil and metal all became one
o da chevy smolblock
yeah
ran good for so long
I just bought a crate 350 sbc
but a modern one
put aluminum heads on it
cam crank sensor
ls computer and coils
my first time pulling a engine need some luck
Yeah man gl with the restoration
Its cool
objectively very good sports car
price of a GT3 i'd get an M5 CS personally though
Yeah i know
thats just personal preference
if i had GT3 money thats what id get instead
M5 CS plus an M2C
M cars are just that little bit more playful while the porsches are very serious and delete corners
have you ever driven a gt3 or something like a gt3
I hate driving modern cars they're boring I love old cars and modern cars like the gt3
iโve been driven in a GT4RS which is as good as a GT3 basically
they share a lot of the same parts anyways including the engine
and itโs mind boggling fast in the corners and sounds nicr
the pdk is also great
this was my other friends GT4RS though
the one thing I love about my firebird is that I get the same feeling as driving a gt3 even tho they're completely different
same adrenaline rush
don't own a gt3 sadly
fantastic car donโt get me wrong
but it's the ride feel noise and scary lol
just doesnโt match the personality i seek out in a car
yeah
I daily my firebird it's a 5 speed manual and every once in a while I'm scared to turn it on
well not anymore
cus it's blew up

if you are waiting for it to blow up it might never
my engine has an entire lawsuit over it for how unreliable it is but its been holding up 100K miles without any issues besides burning oil
rip
mine was good no issues didn't notice anything I tuned it with the old prom tuning stuff
everything was good checked it every day before I drove
oh well
but now I'm poor
cus I bought the new engine
๐ฆ
have you driven any old performance cars like 1980s and below
"performance"
i think the oldest performance car ive been in was 1987 E30 M3
very solid car and quite ahead of its time
I want one of those
as soon as you release the clutch you start to understand how and why that car is so famous
everything about the way it moves and runs is inspiring
I love the raw feeling of the older cars
the steering clutch suspension and sound
and gauges lol
thats one of the reasons i want an E92 M3 so bad
Need that 8400 RPM V8, hydraulic steering rack, manual
S65 4.0 crossplane V8
I put a forged crank big cam good springs and heads on my new 350 but max I can rev is like 7k safe
always wanted something higher revving like 8k+
yea you can have the best top end in the world but its all about the rotational inertia of the rotating assembly
shorter stroke and itll rev out nicely
oh yeah shorter stroke
but its a pain in the ass messing with engines out the factory. might be nice as a rebuild project
oh yeah stock she only makes 414 in the base
i think comp spec makes like 430 something
I wonder what reliability is like up at 8k
those engines have issues with rod bearings
once you replace them all you're good though
that would be fun
the S65 4.0 V8 and the S85 5.0 V10 are both based on motorsport engines
the V10 is in the M5 which sounds stupid insane
a v10
and also has a 8600 RPM redline
I wonder how much those go for
The M3s are a bit more but the M5 E60 with the V10 are pretty cheap
you can pick one up in decent condition for 25K
Yeah someone took the S85 out of an M5, the DCT out of an M3 and the body of an E46 and dumped it all together
should sell my engine now and put that in
the result was a monstrous beautiful car
I should be at 450hp at the crank with my setup rn but I'd rather have some crazy high rev engine
would be a lot cooler
the S65 and S85 are both solid engines once you replace the rod bearings and throttle body actuators
highly reliable
And theyre fairly cheap too
I'm down to figure out how to make it work with my setup
they fit well in lots of chassis too, someone slapped the V10 into a 1 series
kinda like weird stuff
I still got my firebird engine bay empty
I'm sure it would fit
the computer stuff and wiring is easy too
probably would just need to figure out the manual trans and get a new driveshaft
you could probably swap in the ZF 6 speed manual that bmw uses in all their cars
pretty easy to find and simple to use since theyve been using the same trans since like 2004
lmao
it fits basically almost any BMW engine, just need to find a way to make it work with your firebird
that looks like a crazy trans lol
for perspective this is mine currently
lol
small
Oh man yeah thats tiny
hmm zf 6 if it's a similar size to a tremec t56 it would fit
the trans tunnel on the firebird is long can put the shifter anywhere
I found a s85 for about 3k
with 80k miles on it
Yea probably doesnt have rod bearings done
id see if theres any crank damage and if so pass on it
or on the chance you get a cheap S85 crank
go right ahead
damn it's the only one in my area
I'm gunna look more at the trans because if I can make it work it would be really interesting
I can sell my current engine for more than what I got it for anyway
Yea idk about the dimensions of the ZF but i cant imagine it would be that big
and I'm already going to have to make my own harness
so in the end it would be about the same amount of work
need a new trans anyway
But yeah check out the S65 too if you can
those might be more common
and easier to work with while preserving the V8 culture lol
yeah hahaha
One of the best engines manufactured by BMW, is the V8 S65. The S65 equipped an M3 E90 (sedan), E92 (coupe) and E93 (cabriolet).

Oooffff
that shifter thou
v8 at 8600rpm is crazy
v10 too
yeah I love the sound
when you hit 6000rpm that's when every engine sounds crazy
like yeah my sbc max was 5500rpm and it had a lot of torque but it's more fun when you can rev it out
ls engines I could accomplish the same thing but everyone has an ls engine and they're expensive
10k + 5k for the trans
I'm not a corevette fan but there new engine is dohc I believe
damn I used the wrong there for the first time I must be degrading
looks like a alien
damn no s65 engines in my area that's shit
the Z06 has the LT6 5.5L flatplane V8 yeah
i think it makes 670 hp which makes it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever in a production car
sounds like a ferrari
damn what other v8 engines that are cheap
that rev to 8000
s85 is good but the guy says it has a bad crank
no other options
I think if I get forged pistons and rods I could rev my sbc to 8000 but not sure
kinda scary on a single cam
with valve train stuff
by cheap I mean under 8k
Not really needed for 2 lanes, not even 3 lanes really.
If you put lines on that roundabout the locals would prolly ignore them until they wore away in about 25 minutes
French jaaaaaaag spotted
can you recall any kei-car sized roadsters that are not jdm kei cars?
Some old Bri-ish roadsters
I don't really consider this a hot take.
From numerous reviewers, owners, and my experience riding along at autocross, the Cayman seems like the better chassis.
Porsche still intentionally does not give it the treatment they could and always self-sabotage so that the 911 is "the better car".
I think some of the Austin-Healey models would fit the footprint.
Maybe some of the MG cars.
And the Honda S360-800 most likely.
The S360 never made production no?
Ah you just mean the S360 to S800 range including the 500 and 600
Weren't those actual kei cars?
anything newer than ~2000?
i saw Honda S660 and fell in love, but my country doesn't allow RHD cars younger than 30 years
I think they predate the designation of Kei car?
Nope, I'm wrong. Kei car goes back to 1949.
Peel p50
Not really, this is not a popular class of vehicle.
The smallest mass market cars you're going to get are probably FWD due to packaging.
Also, almost all roadsters are RWD.
Anything newer? I don't think so. Doesn't make sense on most markets
I do know Daihatsu sold LHD versions of the Copen in Europe, that's 2004-ish?
Kei cars specifically exist in Japan because they are a cost incentivized niche where you get taxed less for driving a much smaller vehicle.
They also purposely have smaller power limited engines.
Size is not really ideal for taller people
yes, that's why i don't consider kei cars proper
i'm too familiar with that; my other car isn't meant for tall people either
LHD from 2006-2011 apparently
I mean, you have the same issues with all small cars, Kei or not.
Miata and S2000 are not Kei cars, they have size issues. Some Corvettes have size issues. The BRZ (and Toyota models) have size and fit issues.
But youโve never driven either car? How can you say this?
iโve driven an M2CS and in a Cayman GT4RS
In a parking lot?
that's a really good idea. thanks.
What makes you say that a gt3 isnโt playful, then? Thatโs a bold statement for someone whose not even sat in one
Never said it isnโt playful
i said itโs the more serious car
an M2 is definitely more playful than a 911 lol
?
Yes
I said M cars are a bit more playful
i didnโt say porsches arenโt playful at all
if i hadnโt driven a porsche i wouldnโt have an opinion on my preference of car
Shaking my head over here
you can lol itโs just my opinion
Itโs a baseless opinion
you can think so
Well your experience is insufficient to have an opinion like that, right?
Lol okay
And they handle very differently than the cayman/Boxster family on account of the engine placement
if you say so
Iโve put about 50k miles on this one
Youโre welcome to come ride in it any time if you find yourself in Texas
Itโs actually quite funny i havenโt been in a GT3 but iโve had the opportunity to experience a 911R a 918 Spyder and a GT4RS
And the 911 sport classic last week recently
Sport classic is a rare one, that must have been cool
I havenโt driven a GT4RS yet, but lots of laps in a plan GT4s. Youโre right their handling feels a lot more clinical and direct until you get to the very edge
Superb car and I really love the way it handles
That era of Caddies... like I think I know what they were trying to do, and it may have gone well, but in my opinion none of the appearances were executed particularly well.
Cadillacs aren't ugly pos abominations like that
I don't even regard that as a Cadillac
Like honestly
Gorgeous car
Just scrolling through old pics and this was hilarious. Throwback to a flat tire and finding a whole-ass vape in my tire. Still don't know how that happened.
Who?
Decat pipe installed on the 305 :^)
Thatโs the wrong kind of smoking tire!
๐คฃ What a bizzare thing to happen. The shop that pulled it out of the tire brought it in to show me because they were amazed.
nice gpu
๐
This looks like a floor from 1982 BC.
a bus to poland from poland
went to a bunch of different dealerships today just for kicks and giggles
Iโm in love with that Porscheโs blue color it looks so nice
911 turbo ๐
Volvo ๐
As a world rally blue pearl fan I think Porsche also does a good blue.
What the fuck
@brittle totem Which restriction code do you have on driving license?
I'm required glasses to drive a truck.
01.06 is that. But the new drivers did also get an code (in Sweden)
Oh, yeah. That would be the 'trial' period. Similar to how some counties require you a sign on your vehicle when you're a new driver.
It's a two year period where they are more strict if you're caught doing bad stuff. Essentially.
I don't have that code even tho I can't see shit without my glasses

Neither did I. I think you get when asking for C(E) or D
They just have stricter requirements for heavy vehicles.
Ssangyong, the third Korean brand
Those are fairly decent actually, and affordable in most countries
They used to make some questionable (looking) stuff but the Korando is okay
I think they're being rebranded or are going to be rebranded to a new name
I do know they've been struggling financially for years
So US market expansion was probably not feasible financially
Ah yes it's KG Mobility now
I require glasses to drive at all
Wasnโt that both Ssangyong and Daihatsu stopped selling their cars in EU?
SsangYong is still in Europe
And SsangYong and Daihatsu... aren't related in any way ๐
I think they're only in Japan and Indonesia nowadays?
Germany for example
We should have an Korando E-Motion test vehicle at work but I haven't seen it yet. I've heard people talk about it tho, idk where they park it
Both are Korean, isnโt it?
Nein?
Daihatsu is Japanese
Sub-brand of Toyota
Hyundai and Kia are Korean
(and Samsung if you want to inlcude rebagded Renaults)
It's just the date when your 2 years "testperiod" ends.
Never seen one of those in Sweden apparently we have 1563 SsangYong registered here but i still never seen one.
Especially Rexton's were popular here as towing vehicles for horse trailers
Ladder chassis, license built Mercedes diesel engine, allowed to tow up to 3500kg
For, back in the day, the price of a Golf or something
Huh. Is that a new color for Tesla? A very deep red/maroon

But which code?
Ah yes that's a Berlin color, released at the same time as that new Silver colour you were discussing recently
A colour which in person looks very different than the press pictures imho

This is the same colour as the one above according to them
That's why I was confused
100.(date)
Yeah that colour looks very diffrent depending on the sun light.
Yup only available in the Berlin factory so just for European market.
a very lenient MOT for the grey 305
I've never seen that color on a Tesla before. Looks good
Only 79k miles ๐
Brand new
have any of you guys wondered what happened about the plaid+ tesla?
I mean it is still not as fast as the mcmurty spierlling
This car has made such a big difference in the car industry, with that groundforce tech
This idea of this fan type ground force came into my mind a few years ago during a college lecture, I told a lot of people about this but no one cared enough really.
The car was probably not ready i guess that they found some issue with it and just canceled it. Will probably be a thing it the future when it's ready. Or maybe they weren't a big enough market for it.
Shell
that paint is pretty nice too
Luckily I have Dutch one.
I could choose between Swedish, with that code or Dutch without any code.
Yes? ๐
This is some of the food that's available on some Shell stations.
I quite often buy like a protein bar at that shell in my picture
On my way home from the gym
Price?
Like โฌ3,50 I think?
When I bought my 2014 Subaru BRZ nearly 10 years ago my GF (now spouse) made that a requirement of me buying the car.
It was WRB or else.
Not much more than buying them from Albert Heijn
bruh wtf happened here โ ๏ธ
Big oof
Thatโs 1000 protein bars
do any of yโall have $4200 I can borrow https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/767699761677254/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A951b9d61-b4f5-496a-9a33-c7b6053edd62

this is a perfect deal
I checked how much I have spent in total on fuel before. It's uhh, a lot.
I started keeping track of my consumption and fuel ups August, 2020.
Since then I have bought over 5,000 liters of fuel.
One of the good things about owning a moped:
cam swap so I use more fuel
The brakes ๐ I took this today at the F1
So how's the weather ? i guess that it will be very rainy GP this weekend.
We had a bit of rain on the last 20 minutes today. However teams at the garages where preparing intermediate tires.
Have you spotted anything different on the Aston Martin? I have heard that they will have major upgrade package for this weekend.
Like a year?
Ehh what
The magic of... ||LPG||
Ahhhhh
I was about to do math and tell you why that didnโt make sense
But LPG explains it haha

Took it for a sunset drive today
Quite like the look of the interior with the "new" sat nav
It's very calm to the eyes at night
I'm at $7,942.81 USD over 69,996 miles.
wdym?
300 miles over ๐ฅฒ
Should be 69,420 tbh
Have you guys watched eurocrash yet?
Last year between 23 and 30 May 2022 I have travelled to Berlin Germany then Warsaw Poland then Vienna Austria then Bratislava Slovakia then Prague Czechia before returning to Berlin
This year between 31 May and 16 June, I have went to the following countries:
Germany
Switzerland
Italy
Slovenia
Croatia
Hungary
Austria
Czech Republic
I did myself a favour in Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia in 2022 (the month before TGT filmed) and went to Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia in 2023 (days before the film is released)
Yes
It is already out
I watched 20 minutes of it
I am at Flughafen Brandenburg now
I even downloaded it already

"Aston Martin has submitted to the FIA changes to the front suspension, with a section of the upper wishbone modified to improve the oncoming airflow over the rest of the car. At the front corner, the front wheel deflector has been minorly reshaped to better interact with air coming off the front wing tip area."
You want that corsa D
Nah mine is better, 2 less doors and 17s
Instead of 15s on that one
Although they might actually be 16s
15s have less spokes Same amount of spokes, other spacing
Koenigsegg just felt like they wanted to take 0-400-0km/h world record back from Rimac navera all they needed was some new tires and a better surface. Still impressive how Koenigsegg manages to do all this when Bugatti is no where to be seen even if they have like 10x the budget if not more. https://youtu.be/QaEpYc3YLz4
Regera is Swedish for "To Reign", and this new record extends that reign even further.
The performance of the Regera has been proven over the years on the road and on the track with several lap, acceleration, and braking records, and now it has again broken the 0-400-0 km/h and 0-250-0 mph records for the second time, managing this ultimate tes...
Cant wait to se what the Jesko will be capible off i guess the first world records with that car will be done during this summer.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Regera is still quicker due to it being a mono-gear.
Well we sill se but doesn't the Jesko have some incredible gearbox with like 7 clutches one for each gear which will make it shift extremally fast.
Light speed transmission. Essentially one set of clutches for each gear.
My 06 Prius hit 300k miles last night
In that time frame Iโve been in:
Sweden
Netherlands
Denmark
Germany
Tomorrow I will go to an car event
Which event is that?
Oldtimer event in Norberg, Sweden.
This one:
Text is only in Swedish
Cool
Hey guys, I just bought a car and it ran fine for about a week. Then one day we started smelling power steering fluid from the ac, and we couldnโt get it faster than 35mph
Any thoughts?
Are you able to check for any fluid leaks...?
Yeah I can, I also have a small oil leak but I donโt believe that is related
subframe rotted out, got a new one and added a HUGE sway bar... the little cavalier is a monster now
nice. turbo?
cool, i just couldn't justify an na 4 banger in a car that expensive
Itโs 6
2016 model year
huh. i wonder when they stopped using the 6.
oh they dropped the 6 in 2017
Yes
that's weird
4 turbo from 2017 onwards
She sounds beautiful and the engine can be felt in the seat behind you
Mid engine so much better than the rear 911
absolute shit bucket so i can take the body off and make it a cart
I thought about this too
they're not great cars, but if you take all of the weight off they're amazing
it's like the DF goblin and the chevy cobalt, they're mid 2000s gm but if you take the body off they're rockets
the 1999 boxster makes 201 horsepower, so nobody and just a tubular chassis would boogie
Iโm buying a 986 Boxter soon from Copart
Mine is 275hp
how long would you guys wait to honk at someone who's stopped at a green light?
i do 3 one one thousands
Hehehe ๐คญ
Depends if I can see why they are stopped and/or if there are pedestrians and cyclists near by.
Last thing I need to do is have one of the phone lookers startle start and hit someone.
ah i see
but if they're just like stopped for no reason
probably on their phone because they can't stay off of it for 5 minutes
Are lug nuts on a truck truck nuts?
truck nuts are when people get an accessory that fits in the tow hitch that makes it look like the truck has balls
its extremely cringe and really goofy looking
just realized I hit 50k ๐ฅน
Damn couldnt get petergriffin?
Sadge
Mine is pretty unique so someone would have to snipe mine
Especially with the 000
Add another 30k and then you get the perfect mileage
~3s?
Also have to make sure they don't shift in to reverse
i'm getting onboard air for my truck so i might as well ad train horns, so when i get those it'll be 3 one thousands
Special delivery
Have fun
Soobs
Issa joke

Smh hasselt
Technically still outside Hasselt
Prob auto box in the mini and didnt pull the stalk far enough lol
Diepenbeek?? 1 tank station een action en den aldi lmao
Uhasselt I'm guessing?
Si
Might see u some day then

If all goes well.... I should be graduating 2de zit ๐
Im a drop out so no worries
Ah lol
What u studying
โจ Computer Sciences โจ
I used to do network management but then after Christmas break it was linux kernel till the end so i couldnt even be bothered to finish it
Network Management? I have no idea what course/study that is ๐
Donno
Heh ok ๐
any old car nerds here
Is that a Supra
Without the front facia and so on I can't tell what it is.
Looks well painted and like a pushrod big block V8?
to be fair yeah I don't think anyone would know what it is haha
building a 450hp 350 sbc v8
small block
Ah, small block, I was off.
That looks a lot like an old Firebird...
But the writing seems wrong.
lol yeah it's a 89 firebird formula
Okay.
rare firebird
Yeah, I don't really know my Firebirds.
like the trans am but with less weight
Oh, nice.
but better than a regular firebird
How much less weight?
around 200lbs
That's a not insignificant chunk.
the trans am has a nicer interior and a body kit
so it adds a lot
yeah depends on the years
formula is a weird one
only 57 of mine were made
Did they do anything suspension or diff wise?
yeah it's got the ws6 performance package which iss
bigger swaybars, stiffer springs n shocks, aluminum wheels
posi diff
which is a lsd
I remember some of my GM terms.
but I got lucky with a 9 bolt borg warner posi
550hp it's good for they say or whatever
I got a lucky rare car but it's been a hassle
lol
What has made it a hassle?
it was a barn find so
lots of rust
blew the engine
the rod bearing were in bad shape
re did the entire interior
Full restoration.
Modding at all along the way, or just resto?
modding
this is my new interior
well ignore the mess cus my trannys out
and the original was like
I have a soft spot for diamond quilt patterns.
but worse condition
same
I put heated seats in, keyless fob, nice speakers n spare tire sub
Where we started.
did the upholstery
Where we currently are.
damn nice
I like that purple
you are at the stage where I never wanna be at again lol
what car is that
I like the white color
We just had the exterior primed, it's a track car.
wtf is that purple is that a pearl
Yep, it's a white with purple pearl wrap.
It's kind of subtle fun, but goes with the whole theme.
yeah looks good
my firebird is my only car atm but wish I could have another one to do something unique with
I guess mines unique but a cool paint job would be fun
High quality wrap may be a cheaper.
(As a track car, we figured anything we have will get beat up, so we went with a wrap.)
Well, painting also has the curing and the need for a room and the baking to do really right...
true
Depends on what you want to go for.
wrap will come out good anyway
wrap here tho is expensive around 4k
to pay someone
so I learned to paint
I think ours was around that.
But the guy does good work.
Cheaper than full car PPF.
d :
yeah looks perfect from the photos
He even did the sills well.
one unique thing I'm doing is converting my small block to an ls computer with cam/crank sensors, ls sensors, and per coil ignition
damn wow
looks like paint to me
besides the seam
Does it make sense to go with one from an LS or just standalone ECU?
K24.
I went with a ls standalone with the harness but I gotta build the harness with my setup
shouldn't be too hard
We went Haltech.
I don't know much about k24s because I just got into cars like a year ago
and now I'm building mine I guess
We were originally going to go Hondata, but found that tuner support is much better on Haltech.
yeah I like haltech after reading about them
I went if acesefi it's a fitech rebrand but with a better computer
new company
saved me a lot of $$ over holley
Anyways, if you get bored and want more info: https://mooncallercars.blogspot.com/search/label/Nausicaa

I'll read up
Spouse and I have most of the current work done by a shop.
We were not living anywhere with a garage when we started this phase.
But we have a home and garage now!
I'm using my dad's small garage I could not afford anything else
haha
garage is nice
after I blew my engine I was forced to do this and learn
ended up spending 10k in the end anyway..
almost the end at least
Yeah, your engine bay pic looked great.
still have to do the rear body but I did all the panels they turned out like glass
have to do it after it drives
thanks
engine bay I screwed up a bit with the hardener
but it's all good
I'm not a big fan of the muscle car high torque low rpm heavy weight stuff
I like the high rpm sound
so I got a bunch of aluminum and forged internals
will be good to 7000rpm
kinda cool
my car stock is 3250lbs
Well, depending on what all you have bought... you can do stuff with the crank that will let it rev higher... and the rod/stroke ratio.
yeah I got a forged crank, forged rods/pistons
aluminum roller rockers, hardened pushrods aluminum heads
Bit longer rod with the piston pin higher will let you increase your rod/stroke ratio which allows you to push RPM higher because piston motion is smoother.
yeah that's true
I went with a 2000-6800rpm cam
it's a manual anyway so will be fun
big cam kinda
Always weird to me thinking about push rod...
I've spent my whole life in SOHC or DOHC.
hahaha yeah
dohc is better probably
but pushrods n stuff it's pretty easy
my valve train is good up to 8000rpm according to what the internet says...
should be non interference but we will see
once i put my heads on I got a dial indicator
I got some thin mls head gaskets about as thin as I could go to raise compression
to 9.8:1
I remember when my parents first had a timing chain fail on their 1990 Nissan Axxis.
rip same thing happened to my parents
The timing chain had a nylon mechanism that would fail at about 90,000 miles. And it being an interference motor it meant a bent valve and likely some damage.
weird my parents chevy cobalt same thing
There was a series of I think 180SX that were on the same chain.
