Can brakes just "get old"?
Brakes were making scratchy noises on the '04 Legacy so I got new pads and discs. As I took the "old" stuff apart it turns out the pads are still very thick with the incline on each side still very apparent. The discs look fine but not new for sure.
I put all of it on about three years ago though.
The car has been in a regular cycle of being in use for two-three weeks and sitting unused for two-three weeks for this whole time.

#

I haven't looked a the rears yet but all of the above apply to them as well.

civic spoke
#

I have 8+ years on my rotors and pads... (:

sinful tendon
#

No judgment from me šŸ˜… but do they make scratchy noises?
I suppose the regular rust/rust off cycle on mine takes its toll on the discs, but I wonder if that would cause constant light scratching noises even when coasting with no brake force applied.

civic spoke
sinful tendon
#

Ah yes, Soonā„¢, that's happening about 8 months from now I reckon, like my haircut.

#

My calipers were stuck real good those 3 years ago but I redid the calipers and the front brake I just took apart tells me I did it right, the pads are evenly used on this one.

I guess I'll be cleaning all that, putting it all back together, ordering backplates because those don't have long to live lol, and taking it all to the mechanic to go over.

misty river
#

Lol my rear brakes are drums. The driver side is missing a spring so it clunks when I press the brake. Brakes ā€œjust getting oldā€ tech-wise. Gonna five lug convert eventually but that’ll wait until my other car is here and running.

I do have the big screen laying here, but it doesn't do anything with the Touch & Connect... And as I have an LPG car, trip computer on the big screen doesn't doesn't work, and I don't have automatic AC... So the bigger screen would only display the time/date/outside temperature larger KEKW

Ngl, having a Masters writing the code isn't the difficult part. It's coming up with the design, architecture, approach, ... etc which makes the difference

Not trying to offend anyone, but from my point of view... with MBO (and some bachelor)... they can code well but you really need to outline what they need to do

With a masters, you're expected to know the approach, being able to apply it etc

That's the main difference I've noticed
