I just think it's wrong to call it Quattro
But hey marketing let's goooo
Yup
but TBH haldex is fricken good
I turn corners like a mofo, haldex delivers
😂
good system... for a smaller car
maybe proper Quatro is better for heavier models
Basically, really Quattro's have their engines mounted longitudinal
Which is actually very funny if the car doesn't have Quattro
As then you have a longitudinal engine with FWD in Audi's
hm ok .. interesting setup
lmao
much prefer than than a stupid SUV
why do all SUV's have silly 3 inch suspension? They are not an offroad vehicle! They drive on normal suburban roads so why do SUV's need 3 inches heigh lift?
will they drive through a forest?
Longer travel
And honestly here in the usa roads are getting pretty shit
I was constantly bottoming out my impreza
it is like a height contest ... my SUV is 10 inches higher than your SUV!!!!
Imegine having a SUV over a wagon. It's hard to belive that only the scandinavian countries understand that.
Wagon>>>>
I am so stressed
yoo my dads got a passat
Can't even get the canoe up on a SUV.
My SUV is 10 inches than your SUV
Or I should say kayak.
so I am a king
I am higher than your SUV, so I am just better
😳
why the SUV craze....?
I am so confused
sv bad
Bigger = better
More space, more room for luxury, higher off the road
omg.....
I don’t agree, just that’s what people think
Personally, as much as people dunk on crossovers they really are the best average vehicle
Am I missing something
more weight = more fuel = bad
lmao buy a miata
Done
I pay $120 to refuel my little Audi S3 2.0L engine
sheesh
Bruh gas is like $3.60/gallon here and it’s “expensive”
in the uk fuel prices are horrible
I see $250 from previous fuel consumptions...
Lol @ mobility car across the street
V8's lol
Common UK L
uk has no Ls
250€ gets me like 5500km
#LPG life
hmmz
You mean the moped car or that's what we call them here.
Didn't know the English translation, but yeah brommobiel = moped car
I know one day I will need to convert my S3 to electric, and I will play the fantastic exhaust note through internal and external speakers
Those are freaking expensive tho, often the same as an entire proper car
And then they have this one two such a weird collection of cars and yes that truck is road legal.
Converting ICE to BEV is cumbersome tho
yerp
with an extended f40 wing lmao
The quality of the photoshop is uncanny tho
thx bro
lmao
My M key has a liquid spill...
that colour is amazing
These "Ellenator"s are funny tho
I think an electric Porsche but hmm
Basically converted to 3 wheels so you can drive them at 16
eletric?!!
let me release some gas ... pffffffffttttttttttttttttttt
Because everyone knows, 3 wheels is better then you're inexperienced compared to 4 wheels
inserts QUATTRO
quattro more like slowttro
shush
i want an e36
or im straight!
who wants 4wd when you have rwd
no fun drift
yeah i will
well buy a merc
bmw x drive 😆
🤢
awd and rwd!
nah i just want an e36 the last good bmw
have you seen the new gulia?
totally agree, the earlier models were so more reliable
no idea
geezuz
its an m3 touring on steroids
yet
you never know!
no
the fact that my father had to send his 3 series alpina's back to germany for repair
thats alphina tho
watching the Car Wizard on YT... he no likey BMW
he flicks them to the car ninja
huge $$ repair bills
plastic chain tentioners hmm
yeah but the 2nd hand market will exist for some time
these BM's will flow through...
owners will pay top dollar to get their 1980's vehicle pass legistation
I would drive it to the garbage and plonk my savings onto a used or new car
yk what really gives it away, besides the quality of the picture and the tires kinda clipping the ground, that license plate cant legally be so small nad the car seems outta proportion
yeah its a screenshot from a rendered video lol
I saw many BMW with over 100k mi. In fact, there are many with over 200k and you could find some with over 300k mi
Most things are reliable, where it differs is how much it costs to maintain that reliability.
thats funny lol
considering most modern BMW engines are capable of handling over twice the power from the factory
Our ‘16 328i made it to 160k miles, only sold because mom got bored of it
Yeah my borther first e90 330i hade like 150k miles when he bought it . And ve drove it additional 10000 miles before selling with no drive traik related issues.
Did your brother got to know what happend to it after it got stolen ?
Nope, hasn't been recovered/found ever
dang
audis pretty plain
that's the appeal, I think. Modern BMW design language feels a little bit civic type r to me these days
The European Passats look like an A6
The S models do have a little something going for them but they could be mistaken for regular models, you gotta have the RS
Is it American?
is it a ford?

00:00 ID7 EV sedan in Aquamarin Blue
01:35 Length, price and battery kWh
02:30 Real-worl...
Pontiac?
I'm still not sure. The interior seems a step above ID 3/4 at least.
Yes
But the car would probaly be €100k in that spec.
Base was like €60k, right?
Not sure about that since a base spec id4 is like €55k
Oh, ID 3/4/5 are all the same-ish platform?
Yeah I think the cupra born/id3/id4/id5/skoda enyaq and the Audi q4 is all on the same platform.
This cant be right if so why would anyone pay twice the prise for an s or x.
If you have that center screen for everything, including speed, etc.
Then it should also be a requirement to have a HUD.
Well if this leaks are the real deal it will vave drivers display.
New ID7 looks dope
though it's going to be big pricey
382miles WLTP is insane for a vehicle that big, that powerful and with a battery pack that small
77kWH usable, 282 HP
Its a vw
Its gonna be overpriced anyways
They probably end up with a skoda at a similar price and better interior anywaaays
Yeah for sure
though the Skodas are usually considerably cheaper
A Skoda superb version with a boot that size would be dope
Or seat being a nice way to safe 1000-2000€ for the same car
But vw still selling the most because brand loyality is a thing for that company
But the car a) looks cool unlike the ID3/ID4/ID5 and b) has proper good specs in both base and non-base trims
good power, good range, good bootspace, good person space
and an all-new infotainment system which looks way better
The ID3/4/5 and Buzz didn't have enough range and the ID/3/4/5 all looked crap.
And the Buzz is wayyyyy overpriced and doesn't even have a seven seat version available, which seems dumb (though one assumes one will be available eventually)
I'm an unabashed Arteon lover though
back seats also look like they're not the floor like they are in the ID3 either
If they get the price right the ID7 will probably be one of the best EV on the market but I'm bit worried since the base id4 cost like €55k so it wouldn't surprise me if the top spec ID7 will be close to €100k.
Tough to say. I don't think it'll get close to double the price of the base ID4 though
On that scale I'd probably expect it to start around maybe €65k and go up to around €80k
Well a fully loaded ID4 GTX is like €80k
Just checked and a ID4 GTX with every option €74,6k in Sweden and probably around €80k for the id5 version.
GP?
The range seems decent at least. https://youtu.be/kHsTtFskv_o?t=518

Polestar(volvo) electric car vs Audi S3 = head to head. 4.5 seconds 0-100km/h
Had a bit of Turbo lag so I was like 3 meters behind lol.
Damn those electrics with their full torque power .. watch out
But I love the crazy almost lambo-sounding of the S3 ... I tell you the Audi exhaust team are very talented😋
It sounds like a 3rd of a V10 lol
maybe half,,
At 120km/h.
I can't see gun-metal cars in my peripheral vision, they just pop out of nowhere around corners / round-a-bouts ... not safe. Lucky I have a quick car to get out of those situations.
hmm TBH gun-metal cars should be illegal ... yeah that's right, you heard me lol
..and then 1000 gunmetal owners think otherwise lol
safety hazard for sure imo
banning a paint color? ok lol
Getting closer
2005 interface but it’s cool
So ancient looking.
ruining my vent
I like it that way. Simple and without any superfluous junk
Part of me rather just now have it at all.
Wait, it has a built-in code reader?
I retrofitted that
Ah
But yeah, it communicates with the display and shows the data where the navigation usually displays it’s data
But my head unit has no navigation, so it’s making use of unused space
But hey, a car from 2009 (designed in the early 2000s) has USB and DAB+
That’s as good as it can get with OEM parts. Though it was quite a bit of work to find the correct head unit
Who said you needed vents
I dont think ive ever switched any of my cars onto any setting other than windscreen demist heh
This is the only vent you need
Car companies don’t know what they doing not adding this
90's Chevy Pickup?
A friend of mine changed my heater settings before and an ungodly amount of dust came out the vents
They had them on a lot of cars back in the day
Im not a sound guy but shouldn't the s3 be more in line with a golf r?
There is only that much you can do with a 4 cyl
4 cylinder is reliable and other countries ain’t big enough to need a car to go fast
Thats some confusing nonsense
If you had a train, would you paint it forest green while travelling through Hokkaido Japan?
hmm I think the golf R uses the same engine? Note sure if Audi or VW made it
Its the same engine
yeah but who developed it
Vw
S has the 2l golf
ye
I mean the same company.. does it really matter
ye the 5 cyl was audi
I prefer the 4cyl TBH
the 5cyl want to be an annoying farty V8 lol
Damn that's cool!
how the fek do you get rid of the annoying privacy message on a 2012-2019 Audi?
I have a VAG-COM but they limit the Advanced section .. need to upgrade ... omg another $500?
I just want to remove that annoying message 😢
Definitely don't pirate VCDS
@stoic ledge Have you seen the ID7 ? I think Volkswagen just made their first good EV.
made..
Objection
The up existed
I would be fed UP
The e-tron was definitely an étron. Aside from that, I don't follow VAG EVs.
I think the porsche looks better ngl
the porsche .. I used to love it .. until that e-tron came out
the e-Tron is so better looking
imo
man... honestly I really liked that porshce
And i prefer the interior of the porsche
I just love Audi's lol
But well.. i couldn't afford it
100k is just.. a bit far away
yerp
Isn't the e-tron just a Taycan in a Audi shell ?
That's what I thought
it is indeed, but the audi styling is so much better imo
I like the Taycan looks more but the Audi is offers more value.
man I used to think the Porsche was fantastic but now I look at them adn think meh
I dont know, I loved the Porsche and now I much prefer the Audi
Ngl porsche and audi combining their stuff to figure out cars produced probably one of the coolest audis ever
yeah well it is basically the same car
But god dammit rs2 is expensive
I would grab the Audi personally .. beautiful car...
I am biased, having to own a 2019 S3
I just wish audi v engines weren't so horrible to work on
hmm the 4cyls should be ok to work on?
A lot of them are great when they work good
The V6/V8's .. erghhh
But nightmares when they break
hmm
I asume you are a mech
how do you find the S3 8V facelift 2.0L S3 engine? reliable?
SERVICE POSITION
Typical audi, remove the whole bumper lol
Entire front end
Has to be done for most front accessories
Yeah the i4s don't need to have this done normally
yeah ok
normally
that is the thing, buy a 4cyl from the germans, a good buy.
buy a V6 or above, your wallet will decrease in size
Parts costs are also just higher in general for German cars in the US
quicker to just remove the engine to do stuff
That alternator was like $200
People that can afford a new v6+ should have the money for maintenance
i4 is entry level, it needs to be sorta reliable so the plebs don’t get a bad taste for their brand
yeah I try to get VW parts for my S3 lol
See this is a b5 so the platform actually originated from audi
And then volkswagen used it too
half the price, same product, same part number lol
hmm maybe not the same P/N but still...
It doesn't help that all sorts of parts are different between the 2.8 sohc and the 2.8 dohc
And my car is from the facelift year but not a facelift car
Lots of annoying differences
good point
well .. my next audi will be electic
so those ICE tactics will be gone
Wild shot but does anyone have an ND2 miata
Me and my parents with 2 shitboxes sitting in our driveway be like
Honda and Toyota love ICE tactics, they are afraid of change being a classic Japanese company. The Japanese do not like to change things....
unless they are forced
See I have six and just keep collecting more
Right now hybrid is the way to go in my opinion
Ew, hybrid
Electric infrastructure just isn't there
hmmm hybrid are not very efficient
phev
Jeep hybrids be like
...and you have two drivetrains! double trouble!!!
The new prius is rated for almost 60mpg in town
It depends on the hybrid type
tru
Some literally just use the engine to turn a generator
better to be fully electric nowadays
But the tech isn't there
yeah like the GM volt
umm ... Tesla?
Today i’m test driving a manual M5
The infrastructure just isn't good enough to support a full electric society
^ this
Tesla have the tech
You can't charge any car with a tesla charger
the charging stations just aren't there yet
Also tesla is a horrible example of a company
and the power grid can't handle it anyways
The infrastructure sucks and most people don’t have a house to charge it overnight
Until 15 minute full charging comes, lol
Their stance on repair is horrifically bad
Tesla are pushing their charging system to be the American standard .. which it should be
No it should not.
It really shouldn't
Privately owned standard = good? Lmao
Wdym we needed an apple for car companies because that industry wasn't already filled with awful companies
umm Tesla is better than CCS and the Japanese standard
Tesla is the only manufacturer that uses a proprietary charger
I'm perfectly fine with the gas nozzles and the wonderful (it really is) smell of exhaust
why would you give a company a monopoly over the entire charging infrastructure
well their charger is superiour
Is it tho?
Average Tesla fanboy
Every single manufacturer uses it besides tesla and seems to not have an issue with it
Not the tesla hogriding again
when will people realize tesla makes garbage cars
I know I know... Tesla are trying to push their charger as standard, they dropped the patents. I think it is a good thing
The standard isn't changing
Tesla makes a good platform, garbage cars
Well they invested with their own money and no one else can keep up but Tesla has been nice enough to open up nearly all supercharges to every brand in Europe.
this
but no other brand seems to want to use it
hmm
Tesla also is ridiculously anti-rtr
i went to a tesla dealership and went in all the cars, then went to a lucid dealership and went in all the cars. it was like comparing toyota to mercedes
well their door spacing could be improved
There are superchargers around here?
For the price their build quality is horrible in the United States
Yes they do I have seen a lot of none Teslas at the superchargers stations here in Sweden.
The only teslas I will ever approve of are the ICE-swapped ones built by Rich Rebuilds
hmm pffttttttttt
Eh interesting. Yet to see any non teslas at a supercharger here in america
making it better
The reason I'm so harsh on the build quality of tesla is because rivian started building vehicles literally a year or two ago and has significantly better build quality
Sounds better than the boring whine of a electric motor
making it make fart noises
The only thing I wasn't impressed by was the paint
Because they are open for all in the US.
He put a LS in it
yeah I prefer my S3 sound over any EV TBH
Drove an M3 yday and slid it a couple times in the wet it was damn fun
not merican so I dont admire an LS
All of this can be used by every EV in Europe with DC charging.
Tesla: one of the reasons for the increase of development in EVs - probably as much as vw did with dieselgate lul
50% of those stations are broken, lets be real lol
Everything else about tesla I don't like
I'm more of a Ford guy, so if I was to engine swap something, I would use a 5.0 Coyote V8 out of a Mustang
best thing about tesla, they chargers are super reliable
The one in the very south of Germany is a lie and doesn't exist
how so
Last I heard the communication standard itself is the same.
Its a normal ev changer like every other one in europe
The mustang GT engine is pretty cool
Yee
The coyote is an outstanding engine
more about the physical connector, not the charging standard
yeah pretty much
A proprietary charger is a detriment to everyone.
Nothing is wrong with J1772
more watts?
I don't understand why the connector size is important as long as it can handle the amount of power that the car is demanding
CCS can handle more at this point
We've been using stuff that was standardized by SAE for so long
isn’t the V4 supercharger 1000kW capable now
And as far as I'm aware nothing but good has come of it
V4... the one exclusively for the trucks.
I need to get some ZZZ, laters my friendlies
CCS can go up to 1000V.
the plaid can use it too iirc
This one ? It seems to exist it has 86 reviews.
Still no wagon announced
Curious for the price
Also: reeee I was just cruising at Vmax + 3 (zo 133 GPS), ah BMW i3 emerges from behind a lorry en goes in to the fast lane while I'm approaching, I have to slow down quickly to 100km/h... And then it sprints away
WHY not sprint away when you start overtaking? WHY don't you wait until I passed. WHY
Tomas from autogefühl said that it would be less then €60000 with a lot of standard equipment. The wagon version will be announced in late 2023 apparently.

So if I work myself up within a year I can afford an ID.7 as a company car
Although an ID.3 barely fits in budget so unlikely
The range seems decent to more then 400km on the midsized battery at 120km/h not to bad.
But this is just rough numbers we need to wait until he can test the car probably.
What would happen if I did this in Europe
My dad seems to like it a lot so if the price or most importantly if the "benefit tax" isn't to bad on it he will most likely get it as his next company car. The lease on The Passat will end in January 2024 so he needs to order new car quite soon.
It will most likely be cheaper from him to have ID7 then the current Passat anyways.
see plenty of VAG tdi's reeking
https://youtu.be/FMTRJnJJAzA?t=9 me soon
Citroen BX Diesel Rally Sprint Metro 2022 Race 1
#citroen #bx #rallysprint
lots of 80's diesel ongoings in this photo
Rwd
G8?
So I'm basically prepared as an LPG driver 😛 Usable range is 400km 😛
That's extremely modern for you 🤔 You sure it's not an Iseatta?
Dont worry I wont be driving it
So sad current car buying is dictated by tax incentives 🥹
Also, for January 2024 you're probably already too late
Good, I was worried
The fleet insurance probably doesent cover under 23's / 25's or some bs anyway.
When I was at uni I worked for a charity and the charitable insurance company only allowed over 25's to drive the vans.
Id have a hatchback loaded up with shit as a result
Well here in Sweden they remove 350000sek from the list price on EVs and then you only get taxed on remining amount and only that % that you pay on your income. Which makes company cars way cheaper then owning a similar car privately here.
The lease on the Passat can be extended by one month at the time until the new car arrives so that's no problem.
Yeah you'll be renewing it for many month probably 😛
This is what the NL version of the VW sites says. But we will most likely wait for AWD version anyways.
NL usually has some friends, PON is also the guy behind the original Transporter etc
But maybe if you're lucky yes
And about the price this is what carbuzz a US site estimated for the price on the top trim seems a bit to low.
Don't think so no
Yeah a lot of people that have ordered higher trims of the ID4 and Enyaq here in Sweden needed to wait for like 80 weeks to get it 💀
Screw that
Yeah looked in to the Astra Hybrid, same
But there is still a lot of brand news id4 in high trims in stock at volkswagen dealers around the country so I guess that VW just want to sell them for higher price them self.
Ofcourse
That's the reason why I like the Tesla way of doing it you just order you car go to the pick up location withs is usually located in like neighbourhood for some reason. I dont need the "fancy" dealership experince.
Oh they might removed it from google maps, the one before showed it - i just know it was marked as a tesla charger somewhere because it was infront of my former employer but there was just a "normal charger"
The map before shows one right at the bordee
Maybe they just moved it to another location.
There never was one, probably never be one
Yeah, the very nice experience of picking up a car at the port at a tent, some guy telling you "your car is there in the back" and then you inspect it and it's damaged AF
Sounds like the experience you want after spending 60k on a car
We only have the chargers owned by the towns or businesses
Well thats the experince you get in the US its not that common here anymore since they started to build them in China and germany. Like when we picked up the Passat it tooked us like 1,5 hours for something that could have been done in like 15mins. And it still came with loose panels.
Didn't know the US had 🇳🇱 plates
Almost
I meant the damaged ones. Most of the complaints come from people in the US. Sure it happens sometimes here too but from what I have heard, the Tesla employees here are really nice and helpful and the car will be fixed in no time.
my new job doubles my insurance, kill me
So it's a rwd pontiac sedan right
I'm tempted by Teslas but I don't want a dime of my money to go into Elon Musk's pocket
I just hope everyone else catches up soon, which seems to be happening
Seems like the Polestar 4 just got leaked and who thought that no rear view window would be good idea.
I'll take it over the yoke steering.
It doesnt even look good so why remove it in the first place.
Or menu adjustable wipers
Probably aero
I wonder if that little cut out thing lowers down
coming soon parked right on a fucking junction good luck seeing anything :^)
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Well you can get a regular steering wheel no on the new model s and x.
Cargo van drivers have managed for the last 70 years.
Oh good, they let you option a real steering wheel
"steering wheel: included"
its more cars that must park outside their house flooding streets
obviously illegal but they will do it anyway, always some SUV with tinted windows.
A friend of mine here has a 2015 V60 Polestar which I found to be an unexpectedly fun drive on track
They tried to be apple
At least lexus’ yoke is drive by wire so you don’t have to spin a yoke 3 times to turn
Yes.
Granted the 1001 issues people have with that is understandable, but if you're going to do a yoke, might as well go all the way.
I can't wait for EVs to stop being gimmicks and become something I can/want to drive daily.
truck drivers also manage, also happen to have loads of blindspot related accidents.
Yeah everything I hate really heh
still nothing compared to looking over your shoulder
ive driven a van with one
oversized cars with ruined visibility for no reason driven by people incapable of reversing
should put a width restriction on our village, nothing over 1.8m
yeah
have the digital rear view and a window, but the window will probably be useless anyway as is with modern designs.
Not a sedan
Firebird?
Yes
F
They just know that people who have a rear view camera don't look out of the rear window anyways while reversing
And you don't see the audi behind you while already driving 190
Honestly a good feature
I have the yoke and would order it again 😐
"Your package may be delayed"
This is why I take my time when I feel unsure
Dramatiska bilden: Lastbil hänger ut från färja i Trelleborg https://buff.ly/43xDdk5
Dude forgot the parking brake. Apparently?
Yep
Meanwhile my trucks screams to put the parking brake off randomly when it's shut off
Same
Imagine not having an air leak so your brakes don't just set within a few minutes of shutting it off

Rarely have had a leak that bad.
To be fair mine isn't that bad
It usually takes a few hours
But it definitely leaks a bit
My brakes also stick after sitting for a bit
Worst 'leak' that I have had was when I blew the bellow for the bogey axle.
Threw the axle down, and blew off a connection back there.
Possibly not the place but our esports team are recruiting for iRacing…if interested shoot me a DM
goes hard
Let me guess, generator that last ran before the dinos went extinct?
That's what it feels like
Where the wiring gurus at
Wat da dog doin
I miss the covid times when people were driving around in their supercars care free
i miss the times people would actually fucking drive their supercars rather than keep it in the garage collecting dust as a statement piece
baller
this one is at 160K lol
only rod bearings done
nice
with every drive at that odometer reading id be
tho
im sure it does, im just saying those engines are known to blow up at 100k out of nowhere almost like clockwork
there is a reason they immediately binned it for the next one
but when it works its awesome for sure
F Covid
it wasnt only covid
which is what i meant rather than repeating the same idea the other guy said
Ya well Covid messed up a lot
Like me not being to see half my family
Bc the shit borders require a vaccine that i refuse to take
A big problem is that people see it as investments instead of toys/transportation.
Wdym
is that really a problem tho
Like for the vacation?
What?
Buying cars not to drive? Yeah, it is.
Yes that’s a problem
sure its a shame you cant see all of them all the time but the inventors also pump a giant amount of money into the car scene as a whole providing careers and knowledge
motorshows
Covid in general made lots of problems
shit like that
Ye
The whole point of a car is 4 wheels and an engine designed to get you from point a to point b
Theres a bunch of variables but the idea remains the same
That's what I mean. They buy cars as investments, instead of banking that money.
but that applies to a bunch of stuff
if you dont want that youre looking at a very regulated economy
houses are meant to get lived in but they are used for investments more and more
Well to them it’s like I have the money so why not
Ya well people wanting more money
Generally cars with higher miles are pretty good because it means someone took care of it enough to get to that mileage
Ya
If it have had few owners then that's often true.
Ya
True but with most of those rare expensive car you can still drive them a bit and they still go up in Value so its like invesment that you also can have fun with. And with exotic cars like Koeingegg you can drive them a lot and still sell them for way more then orginal sticker price since they are very limited. Most Regera that sells used now goes for like at least 1-1,5 milion $ more then their orginal price.
Lol
It feels like there’s more “special edition” supercars than ever
Like come on, the countach is an aventador with a body kit for 10x the price
I actually saw a 4th gen firebird yesterday
Audi rolled over to 115000 miles yesterday
Dang
The problem is selling them for more than you bought it
Cars shouldnt be seen as an investment unless you actively use it for business
I see cars that I buy to flip as an investment
It's not hard to sell a car like Koenigsegg for more then it was new. Those extreamly expensive and rare cars goes up in value. While you "regular" car doesn't.
But not ones that I buy to keep
Almost every vehicle I've ever bought is worth more than I paid for it
I've had cash offers on a few for at least double or triple what I paid
I know that I'm keeping the dakota and firetruck forever
And the audi is staying for a while at least
Yeah
That is not much
Thats in kilometers
Yep. @vocal mural Said its a '01 VW T4
I remember someone sold a skoda i think imported from Netherlands and it had like 170000 km on the clock, but in reality it had over 800000 kms.
Alltrough the engine might last, but everything falls apart
ROSTFRI = RUSTFREE a bit funny becuase of what happend to some of the earlier model 3s here in scandinavia.
Adaptive cruise contol and lane assist just stopped working i guess that the radar is borken now 🫠
And they have compelity removed the abient lighting for some reason to.
Maybe its a wish, like i wished for that being true with my rat
put a snorkel on my landcruiser 😄
it's not road registered just yet - i'm slowly fixing it up
next up will be a lift and some mud tyres :))
"Professional"
It's the same generic Chinese crap that I already have in my other car but in a different case
if it works, it works
it's all marketing fluff. they're just trying to make their product seem like it's better than it really is.
I bet you that its a single tiny board in that entire metal case
The radio is like 5 cm thick
And it floats away
"oh yeah I'm fixing it up."
proceeds to replace things that probably don't need replaced
needs wheel spacers and some spinners
Was in the back seat today, it has no rear suspension.
too many people think this is "pwopah mint"
No rear suspension sounds painful.
No shit
Ugh... I remember when spinners were everywhere, both as actual wheels and just hubcaps.
I do not miss those days.
I dont think I've ever seen one in the UK thankfully
Heh, I think distance wise my coilovers for my project car are currently closer to you in the UK than they are to me in the US...
Apparently the first time the car was measured they got the clearances wrong, so need a shorter damper tube length.
So, they got pulled off the car and shipped back to the Netherlands to be rebuilt.
hand crafted by max verstappening himself
Nah, he'd use something even better.
ook maybe Jos Verstappen round in the back street behind Verstapennings workshop
meanwhile I'm out here tryna decide whether or not to buy a slightly more proper OBD scanner thing to help diagnose/clear an ABS fault
Personally, I would spend the money on a better OBD scanner
At least your car isn't a Ford that can only have the ABS codes cleared by certain scanners
Well shit
yep
p sure you can get scanners that can clear stuff without going for the full VIDA/whatever they call it
yeah
still wont be able to turn off the stupid "daytime running lights" feature that has your low beams on all the time with that I dont think
Solution to that: Buy an old car
tbf this is already pretty old
2005
its just a cheeky silly little volvo thing they have
you're supposed to be able to toggle it with some sequence of buttons but that didnt work so I need the VIDA thing
or just ignore it
My truck really lives up to the "Fix It Again Tony" backronym
I personally prefer old cars
I’m 50/50
Easier to repair, depending on parts avalability
unfortunately older cars generally cost a bit more
in UK these days
gotta spend a while lookin at least
Our project is a 1993 Honda Prelude: https://mooncallercars.blogspot.com/search/label/Nausicaa
Automotive projects and reviews.
Here in the U.S., they can be dirt cheap depending on the condition its in
The thought of a ‘70 challenger with a lexus v8 and a modern interior makes me drool
I'm going to pretend I didn't see this message
We swapped to a more modern K-series engine because parts availability for the H-series is not great.
Me: Laughs in 1997 Ford Ranger with the Lima 4-banger
Immortal engine
We'd have an easier time with a B-series if we stayed old engine.
Isn’t that just a ranger
But the H-series was used in a rather limited set of cars with smaller volumes.
If @topaz vessel Is talking about the truck, yes
Its just a rebadged Ranger
I'm not talking about a truck, I'm talking about Honda 4-cylinder engines.
Figured you weren't talking about the truck
B, D, F, H, K are the main engine lines.
I barely know jack about Honda cars. Only parts of Honda I really care about are the power sports division and power equipment division
I primarily know Hondas and Subarus.
I also know more about Mazda rotaries than I probably should, but that's because one of my friends is an ENTHUSIAST.
smh not even an i5
Well, I guess I should say I mainly know Ford and GM
Considering if you know your way around most Chevys, you know your way around basically most of the cars GM sells in North America
Pretty much.
Even the Northstar V8s made it into stuff, right?
Yeah
That's the only engine I don't necessarily think of as a Chevy one.
Well, modern engine.
Now that I think of it, I'm surprised I don't know more about GM than Ford, considering my Mom had a GMC Canyon when I was little, and my Grandparents have a '96 Silverado 2500 that they bought before I was born
@elfin stone maybe an odd question, but do you maybe know if you can replace this button seperately?
I'm very interested in this Astra K but I'll be annoyed by that lol
Also the auto button being misaligned
But which button tho? There's like 40 of 'em 🤔
I think they mean the right AC thig
Yeah right temperature button
Ah
Left one has a window, right one not
Dumb Californian moment
No worries
Do you have access to parts sites like this? https://www.hondapartsnow.com/
Where you can pick out the sub-components within a diagram for the part of the car you're looking to fix?
HondaPartsNow.com is a trusted online store for Genuine OEM Honda Parts and accessories. We offer fast shipping and wholesale prices. Superb customer service and online inventory make us the #1.
(Not sure with foreign markets, but I use things like this and RockAuto in the US a lot to figure out part numbers.)
What year Astra is it?
If it has a corresponding US model I could find the exact part, probably.
(Assuming global counterparts.)
genuine volvo VVT solenoids on their way to cost 300 quid 😭
RockAuto ships auto parts and body parts from over 300 manufacturers to customers' doors worldwide, all at warehouse prices. Easy to use parts catalog.
Obviously would need exact model and year, but, not terrible?
huh
It's a 2016, but I don't think there's a similar panel used in a US market car
Maybe there's a Buick which uses the same button, or at least rotary knob...
And yes I do have access to a parts catalogue but it's not really updated, newer models like this aren't in there
That's a shame, the ones I have are usually up to date within a year or so.
I can't even tell which button you're talking about
Northstar engines are absolute garbage
The right knob displaying 21 if I understood @stoic ledge correctly.
You are correct :)
see I think the problem is you cant just buy most of these parts in the UK for whatever reason
at least not from any outlets I know of
so you have to get stuff imported
I'm prolly missing something pretty new to it
I wasn't talking about quality. @misty mantle was making a point about knowing the GM engine line better than they thought because they know the Chevy one. I was merely asking whether or not the Northstar made it into the Chevy line, not just the other GM lines.
Ah okay
Yes passenger side temperature control :)
Is this the car you are talking about
Lmao I can’t believe somebody forgot to put the clear cover on
😂
Either that or it fell off somehow, idk
can you just get that little piece online or does it absolutely have to replace the entire dial?
That's what I'm trying to figure out
maybe try finding one in a salvage yard? then just pull that little piece off or the knob
I can also just ask the dealership selling it to fix it
Yes there is a North American equivalent, it's the Buick Verano but we only received the sedan, while china got the hatchback model@stoic ledge AND the sedan
idk how many there are near you
oh wait that’s a new car?
ah a “new” used car
The Netherlands
US Verano is based on the old Astra I think
Was asking cause it's confusing when the Astra is sold as both an Opel, and Vauxhall
Yeah so Vauxhall is UK only, Opel everywhere else
Buick Verano was sold 2012-2017 in US
Yeah that's Astra J based
This is an Astra K
Also tired, left home at 7.30AM, just got home at 11:30PM. Work only
So going to get some sleep now
That thing is a whole unit. You should be able to replace it plug and play. The Piano cover is just clipped on. You first have to remove the lower thingy (the fusebox is also behind that) then you can pull out the AC control
I like this advertisement.
What is the yellow decal in front of the door?
Hah, brilliant.
Ok, that's sad as this exact unit isn't common (ventilated seats is a rare option)
I mean, you could try to disassemble a standard unit and swap in the knob. Should be possible
Those are the same in all Astra Ks, iirc, 2 Zone Ventilation was standard

Dull of unfair biases. Of course if the Koenigsegg goes top speed, then it is much faster than the Citroen C4
The Koenigsegg, as well as the Citroen, cannot go full speed without petrol, meaning that it is the petrol that allows one car to be faster than another. Therefore, the Citroen is indeed faster than the Koenigesgg if it has petrol and the Koenigsegg does not
The Citroen will also be able to drive faster than the koenigsegg if the koenigsegg is driving in a 20mph speed limit and the Citroen in a 30mph
On city streets the Citroen will also most likely be faster, especially if they are narrow and/or bumpy and in I'll repair.
The Konigsegg is a very wide and low vehicle made of exotic and expensive materials. Uneven road surface could result in tens of thousands of hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage. The same is true for a car trying to parallel park or a door being opened.
The Konigsegg driver would likely drive at slower and more cautious speeds than the Citroen driver in such situations.
Well no shit. The Citroen is going 10 mph faster than the Koenigsegg
Read further up.
Also it depends on the skill of the driver
A Koenigsegg driver will probably be closely monitored by police, to insure that they are not speeding, while a Citroen can break a certain speed limit and only be let off with a warning
Lifted trucks around me going 110mph on the highway
Cops don’t give a fuck about the trucks and SUVs and dented as hell nissans
But god forbid I go 1 over the speed limit
dear Lord that sounds awful
Ye because the Citroen is faster
Thats the thing we just have to guess what the right car is xD
Just got a drain plug crush washer for free from a Nissan dealer.
I'm glad I didn't have to spend $3 on this.
I have a question: I recently bought some parts at my Opel Dealership, and they added a 10% discount to every part. Is that normal? I usually order from them, and don’t get a discount, this was the first time
Yeah they have an "older car discount" after 5 years I think? That's 10%
Also, not going with the Astra K
It's very nice
And the car was also nice
But I didn't felt like it was worth the price to upgrade

Gave my sister in laws car a little update
I wanted to help my sister yesterday as well by switching over to her summer wheels.
But she had previously taken it to a tire shop that UGGA DUGGA'd those nuts solid.
Lol classic
I like how the Cupra version of the id4 got the update screen before the id4. https://youtu.be/0HXYY5q1f7k

guy at the tyre place knows me too well
they usually make a joke about where they can jack it up without it crumbling
Yooo they hosting the 24 hours of lemons 20 minutes away from me
did u mean le mans LMAO
terrible opinion
Le Mans is not lemons
It sounds like a straight piped v6 lmao. Tinny and awful
how does that sound like a V6 bruh
it doesn’t really have any grumble
it’s really high pitched it might have something to do with the exhaust
it’s high pitched because it’s got a 8500 rpm redline
it’s by nature a high revving V8
It could very well be a good motor and be able to sound good, but that exhaust is on par with VQ and ricebox Coyote exhausts
VQ sounds much worse
VQ is among the worst sounding engines of all time, but that clip is giving me similar vibes
sorry not sorry
Beast
Pretty fuckn dire when you consider it is a 1992
4 stroke aswell how boring
I love the dinky little moonroof
Started drivers training today.
My father just bought a new car
He retired about one and a half years ago, so I just found out he traded a Mercedes Benz E Class in for one of these
His wife who is 10 years younger still drives a C Class from 2017
Great seats in Volvo's
Yes
My father hates showing off with ostentatious cars
That is why even though he is wealthy, when he ran Tu Du hospital years back, he only driven an E Class
Not an S Class or a Bentley or Rolls Royce or even had a chauffeur of any kind
Happy 130k km
is there anything I should routinely tighten on my car if I drive on washboard gravel roads?
I heard the shaking can shimmy things loose over time
but im not sure what exactly
for already being a lowered car the amount of suspension travel this thing has when launching is crazy
torque is a different beast
What in the TikTok is this
that fitment 😩
Bro is him
A lot for a VW, I know
😛
Wow!!
Try to drive up to around 400k km
Or even 650k km like my uncle and aunts W210 Estate
I don't think it'll get up there any time soon, it's a 2012 (so 11yrs) with 130k km so ~12k km/year... That would take a long time 😛
But the intent is to keep it for many more years 😛
Wow!!
Well until recently she also had a company car besides it in which she drove 40k km/year, but luckily she switched jobs xD
Wow!! How good is your public transit in your country?
