it's fun to roll through the gears
I have driven a Citroen Nemo at 160 kmh (100 mph).
60hp still get you to 175
I believe it was either 60, or 70 hp in that little thing.
And it maxed out the Nemo
- but honestly we need a speed limit somewhere
I think it's ridiculous that you are allowed to drive as fast as you can if you just got your license
Yeah done the same in the mighty Corsa
Is that a base Camaro? Cope
V6 cope
yeah
I've chased motorcycles with it on roadtrips ๐
Sometimes it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
VW T5.1, 2.0 biturbo. Great chassis, drives like a heavy Golf R. Only problem is the body feels like it is trying to escape from the chassis.
9 hours call baby
@dusk ocean surely youโve seen this as itโs older but Iโm watching it again and cannot believe that collection. https://youtu.be/fiLImHQbjis

BMW / Alpina dreams
Yes I have seen it - its sick
@compact grotto for the longest time I wanted an Alpina B10 biturbo
And you don't now??
Nah I built a way faster E34 lol
I have a genuine E34 alpina front lip in storage but can't bring myself to put it on/paint it
E34 20 Jahre is also unbelievably gorgeous
Yah e34 m5? very nice - I bought an E34 M5 from Canada which was imported there, 3.8L
yah familiar
The seats.... ๐คค
Something about that era.. so good.
Super ultra rare alcantara hurricane pattern - so sick
yeah dude it's why I own so many mid/late 80s - 90s BMWs
circa 1996
Not a car but figured I would post anyways. 1968 sears allstate/ puch sabre. Its a 50cc two stroke street legal 4 speed manual motorcycle that me and my dad are fixing and eventually going to turn into a cafe racer. (My first motorcycle that I'm learning to ride on before getting my motorcycle liscense when I turn 16 or 17)
Only if you make a shroud so it still only pulls in outside air, if you remove the box and only install that the performance will actually get worse as you'd drawing in warm air heated by the engine
Alot of fuckn money for a tube and a filter
Ah like a heat shield?
that's why im thinking of getting just the metal tube off of ebay, then buying a high quality filter to slap on the end
and somehow find a heat shield, people on forums keep mentioning them but idk where to get one
You need like a cold air intake box
https://corksport.com/2014-mazda-3-mazda-6-cold-air-box.html
Kek more expensive than the actual cone
holy shit $150 for a box
But yeah you should make something like that
make one?
If you don't want to, just get a performance drop in filter
If you're handy, else just buy one ๐
Not really less than a set with the CorkSport Cold Air Box which actually improves the airflow ๐
googles how to weld fast
Fun fact. Most OEM solutions are cold air intakes.
mine is
Yeah, that's why I said go for a performance drop in filter
however not the ram
Performance drop in filter > cone/ram filter without any box
whats the difference between a normal filter and performance one?
Less thicc (e.g restrictive) so better airflow
Normal one filters better.
Where as performance filters are higher air flow.
Basically more air = more oxygen = can add more fuel = better performance
๐ $65
Not true per definition, due to different (more expensive) materials they can filter just as good while still allowing better airflows. Standard filters are made for a budget ofc
It's filters that you clean out, oil, and reuse.
Yeah.
Performance air filters generally have a lot more area to let air through as well.
At least the cylinder ones.
If done properly cones can add additional airflow
But doing it properly means going with a cold air box
Otherwise it's just wasting money and might reduce power
Car's computer generally have no idea what to do with it, though.
i just can't find a cold air box at a reasonable price idk what to look on
This is what $250 gets you for an E46.
It's a specialty item so I'm not surprised they're not cheap
these cylinder things pop up when i search for them
Whose all look the same AliExpress generic filter
If you're not worried about performance. Then just stick the new filter on and go with it.
It will be fine, most likely.
with no cold air box?
Imho you have 3 options:
- Stay stock
- Get a proper drop in filter
- Go all out with a cold air box and a cone
Kek. Love the increase in power I would get from an 'upgraded' filter and everything.

2+ peak gain.
according to people a short ram on mine would give about 7-10hp
The TL;DR is really that it's not enough to feel any difference.
idk for sure how much a cold air box would do? doesn't where the air actually coming from the outside into the engine bay matter
You'll hear a difference, but you won't actually be any faster.
yeah people did say it made it sound a bit nicer
but a lot of people said they can notice a difference in power at higher rpm
maybe it's just a placebo
Looks like a more proper cold air intake for the Mazda 6 is in the $300+ range.
but maybe with a new intake and a tune it might make a difference
interesting
im just wondering why the car is only at 165 ish peak torque anyways
it's supposed to be closer to 180 ๐ค
It depends, some account for the drivetrain losses.
But when you're just checking between stock and aftermarket parts. Then it doesn't matter.
The change in percent is what you're after.
true
Hold on
so is the purpose of a "box" shield thing to block out hot air from the engine/radiator? or the radiation from the engine
Yessir.
It's there to make sure that you're getting as much fresh air from the outside as possible. And as little dirty air from the engine bay as possible.
ah
so in theory i could just get a piece of aluminum and make a box and slap it in there
Pretty much.

Here's how it looks under the box.
interesting
do you think the top is needed? or would the hood itself be enough
i'm going to ask some people at my school tomorrow what they have done to theirs
this guy i know has a gtr and an m4 all tricked out
Some kits use the hood to seal the top. I know that K&N does that.
This is K&N.
It's a fair bit of money for no/little performance. It's mainly for the sound.
More induction noise.
yeah ๐
Want to hear your engine better and maybe make a few extra ponies in the process? Well, and intake might be just what the doctor ordered. Let that sucker breathe! Come along as Zach talks about the different types of intakes you may come across as well as some pros and cons - all while installing a new high performance intake on the Miata.
We ...
you won't get anything from a cai without a tune, so i would get one of the ones from ebay
it's the same thing anyway, 2.5 or 3 inch pipe going to your intake
the heat shield doest do shit either, once you've been ripping for a while the engine bay will be hot, negating the purpose of a cold air intake. the manufacturer made the intake efficient as possible
but they sound cool
the ecu would also have to use more fuel with that air to make more power, generally giving you worse mpg
Lol, one of my dashcam clips made it into one of those compilation videos
Loink
Around 6 minutes in https://youtu.be/cUBbwkXtYaE
Enjoy!

Changes the sound.
not according to the graphs
itโs a little bit of power
but Iโm thinking that if I unlock more air being able to get in there maybe a tune would do more
my car has a cold air intake already, I just wanna get a short ram
I contributed!
This sounds normal
gave her a lil wash!
pressure washer ripped some of the decals off
but they were already falling off
But that's from the manufacturer
And even according to them the power you get for the price is nothing
And I doubt it'll do much even with a tune
Manufacturers tend to find the most efficient design possible
Also can your ecu even be flashed?
Nice name rite
please read what i wrote a bit ago, it's everything you need to know
it's not worth flashing your ecu for 10 horsepower
high flow injectors, new plugs, the works
boost would help
If you say so
a pod filter would be like an extra 1-5 hp on a good day
you need supporting mods to add more hp
But like if you see they guy at 9:27
https://youtu.be/cUBbwkXtYaE?t=9m27s
How can you not just let him in? It's an honest mistake, just help each other out
Basically do this:

like exhaust, cams and tune
I prefer the simple mod of LS swapping
Very effective
my car came with one from factory
Tuners do not want you to know this simple trick
and is "slightly modded"
GM so basically an LS

That's awful lol
I think that you need a couple new bushings.
nuh uh
Reverse is the same way in my CRV with 305k miles
Original trans, it's synchro whine I'm pretty sure. Mines a 5MT tho
bushings in the steering components of my car looked like that
safe to say
it wasn't safe
Are we going to ignore all of that oil?
yes
thats probably from the old engine that blew up to be honest
cleaning stuff is overrated
Was using the saab to see if we could get it running for a laugh
replacing it all atm.. again, the new engine is on 235k miles and has a thick gel coat of oil on it
I wont be cleaning it before putting it in
Cleaning stuff is nice. Because it lets you know if you're having more leaks.
I dont want to know
Ive replaced every seal and hose if it still leaks guess ill die
I need this to hold up for 200 ish miles a day at my new job heh
Very little of the car is original at this point
Man, 200 miles a day is rough.
not that much but not quite the ideal fleet vehicles
My mind does sometimes go astray to ideas of buying a "modern" 2004 car
I drive like 55 km's a day. But that's just to the truck and back.
We have a 9-3 Wagon on our street.
one of the things I would consider
The low emission zones complicate me having a "new" car though
parts car is dwindling away
this was a complete car
shame, but needs must
I need to try and claim of my windscreen cover and see what they say just out of pure curiosity
on my maroon one, I think they will struggle to get a windscreen
There's a chance I adopt this one but not sure about having multiple of the same car
Some cars are just worth more in parts than they are as a whole.
Up until very recently cars like these were worth very little, markets all to wack now
still not that expensive but alot more than 4-5 years ago
4 or so years ago my friend bought a MOT'd golf for ยฃ150 to buy another car and dump the golf
You wont really get a MOTd car easily below ยฃ700 now
Yeah. Just having a recent and valid MOT on a car is worth a whole lot.
MOT's are a bit annoying but they are a good in a way, adds a difficulty to doing what I do.
Keeps utter garbage off the road.
It's the only reason my Dad spends anything on his car heh
Iโve been seeing far more cars on the road with bald tires, no brake lights, dents, etc than the last time I was home
I'm glad MOT's/inspections are a thing, and often there should be more strict rules to them imho
Literally the bare minimum in terms of safety, and sometimes even below that
I think the Airbag / ABS requirements are a bit meh but not a issue I have personally
Like people install their ABS module then remove it again after they pass the MOT
Why would you want to remove those lol
track cars / shitty old systems and having other brake upgrades
Ofcourse theres little reason to remove the ABS unit on a new car, but shit ABS does exist in the past.
Understandable
But I think you can remove old systems if it wasn't required by law to have ABS, like if you have a 1990 car with ABS but it wasn't mandated by 1995 you are allowed to remove it
Atleast here?
Basically here anything that it is fitted with must be present
There was a proposal to allow it to be removed from pre 2010 cars but was revoked
So I checked, pre-2018 it's actually just an advisory when missing
Well when the ABS light is on
I think it's allowed to completely remove it
Which is sus as it's mandated from 2010
So technically 2010 and newer without ABS doesn't meet it's legislation so should fail inspection
Apparently it's a gray area
But on older cars it's perfectly doable if the system is completely removed and the ABS light stays off
Be nice if it was the same here

Had a moment driving to work this morning
Was driving tired and went a bit too far to the left of the road and my tire was running through the ditch
Steered hard to the right to get out of it and the car twitched a bit but managed to recover it fine
Pro tip don't drive tired ๐
Wow!!
Went and looked at the e46
Unfortunately my friend was wrong
It's not a manual
But it's still a $1500 e46
Peak beater material
Might have to buy it
This is just a list of the funniest moments
Wow!!
Come to Finland, you can have a decent E46 beater for โฌ500.
Bought a nice E39 earlier this year together with some friends. It survived two days
Turns out the expansion tank is plastic and doesn't like hitting snowbanks at -20 degrees.
The Omega on the other hand, which was on its third year of ice track hooning, was still truckin' - we finally sold it for scraps.
He got the nickname Phteven.
The expansion tank is the go-to failure on that generation of BMW.
Yeah, especially when you smash the front repeatedly in snowbanks around ice tracks.
Abarth 595 competizione cold start sounds like a tractor for some reason on camra.
The fun didn't last long 10 mins later and you avrage xc90 driver are blocking the road driving 40-50km/h on 70km/h road.
๐ธ๐ช Well the problem on that road is that there is bascially no good place where you can safely overtake on. The only good sraight has speed camra on it๐ซ .
Yup that car has 210hp and weights just a bit over 1000kg. So the power to weight ratio is really god.
I just have to go for big run ups then slam on the brakes if someones coming
I live in usa so 210hp is eco car territory these days (cars are too fucking big and powerful here)
Me: Laughs in 116 HP 4-banger 1997 Ford Ranger
Well 210hp is quite a lot for a car that only weights like 1100kg. its faster then my moms BMW that has 231hp because that car weights like 500kg more.
And the thing drinks gas
Apparently I should also start delivering pizzas... Delivery guy just showed up at work here to deliver pizza in a 2020 Audi S5

I have a miata so I get it, much more fun
I was more bitching about cars here being too big and too damn powerful
I'd love an additional 40 hp in my car to have 210+ hp. tbh
Also @brittle totem , almost had a heart attack at work thinking I saw the T-Cross we turned in a few weeks ago, again
But it was just 2 cars registered earlier

677 vs 679
Still, Exact same spec and 5/6 digits match
My dad got some news about the Passat today and apparently something is wrong with the Infotainment system now so I guess it will be in for another few weeks.
Voltswagon: Das Auto
same
electric supercharger??? ๐
I'm probably not gonna buy the bmw
I would like a supercharger for my car. But it doesn't make sense from a financial sense.
Laughs in 180 hp 4 banger Honda civic
relatable, have an '06 honda 4 banger too. Slow but fun
only making around 215whp now but it's pretty much just stock
Pretty much stuck as in a new camshaft an fuel injectors
I think I make 18 mpg doing that
mmm, for me I do want to get an exhaust and thats about it for power. I'd be very happy with 220whp tbh
already done intake... but it was purely for sound
just Hondata tune and thats it, made a huge difference for driveability and now I can also tune it myself
Yea Iโm waiting to get turbo
Nah, I want to keep it N/A
theres something special about N/A IMO
especially given how rare high strung N/A engines are these days
plus its cheaper ๐
Yea
Mybe a awd kit
Would epic
Although I have to buy new shocks and repair $600 cosmetic damage right now
Befor I keep modifying it
Although I love how easily you can remove/put in the rare seats
I like my selectable 4WD
We talking Honda civic talk no ford ranger
My Ranger is 2WD anyway
Lol
reminds me, I need to replace all my bushings and mounts... but thats like $2k+ and eugh
One of my old friends had the same year ranger
was going to spend my bonus money on that and well, that didnt go to plan... thanks economy
Lol
Yea my mounts are perfectly good
How your window trim looking
I baby it because they dont sell it anymore, but fine I guess? These seals are a pain, but I use shin etsu grease on them twice a year
Weather window trim sorry
This
I think thats supposed to be attached to something
Why does that look like a dent on that pan
Is that the oil pan
Its the transmission pan, its fine. Not dented
Okay
I forget how much oil other cars leak
Its a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
Because my Honda civic at 200k miles has no oil leaking itโs more dry than a grandma
Transmission has a seal leaking
Yes
Hmm
California
This truck only has 158k on it
I came to Florida from Missouri so yea my cars been through a lot
Poeple in California donโt know how it is to drive 40 minutes just to get to school
I ride the bus to school
Well weโre I was there wasnโt a bus
Rip
its fine tbh
That donโt look like 2006
It is - AP2v2, 2006
I love how tiny that car is! Its giving me miata vibes even though its not a miata
Nice, how long is it gone already now?
Great, I was about to ping you
I went to the place were I made my first pics of the car and re made them in the current condition
Quite the change
now just needs to be made RHD
Very big difference yes
Thatโs unusable over here
I'm personally not a fan of the logo change but otherwise ๐
Why's it unusable
Instantly makes the car worthless
Mc Donalds for example
Go inside Christ
Ew
Ive driven a LHD car van in the UK it was pretty shit
I can understand you. But it also makes my car extremely unique
Same with a RHD here
Definitely true but I'd have kept the Opel logo
Also: is the Astra badge at an angle?
Im no longer suprised at all the LHD truck crashes that happen here
Or is that just the image?
Maybe
I need to redo it in the near future
Id have probably gotten used to it but I kept trying to grab the shifter with my left hand
Replaced the rear chrome line because the old one started to rust. VERY common in the Hโs, if you donโt act quickly, itโll spread onto the hatch
LHD > RHD, most people are right-handed -> better for shifting, and you can use the indicators and shift at the same time
I had a car with the indicators on the right stalk
Goes to indicate starts wiping ffs
Usually Japanese market cars have that yes
The CIM has an option for RHD, indicators are on the right stalk if the setting is active
yeah was my mk1 impreza that had it
Was the Astra available in Japan?
Yup
That's why then
who the fuck in japan buying a astra
Even with specific Radios and central locking senders
Japan also had this amazing Subaru
Thatโs a Zafira
-brand rep
Re badge a Zafira into Subaru, youโll get A LOT of stares
I want another interior for my 305 but going to be hard to get one
I want a black interior instead of the beige
Nooo beige is superior
Oh the I4 vs boxer you mean?
Idk what it had
2.2?
Great, if you have an accident without belts, itโll imprint the Peugeot logo onto your face
That's how you recognize real men
doesent matter if you are wearing belt the seat will emergency eject

and the windscreen is delaminated so that will be a nice addition
Its my only car I care about really so ideally crashing will not be happening
Until someone crashes in to you

This is one that was in a minor rear end collision recently
minor
crumple zone
Yep, its totaled. No question to it
itd be totalled if it had a dented bumper
Tf? How
Just the way normal insurance deals with old cars
๐
Which is annoying because then they throw a Cat B on it
and that basically cant be undone
A friend of mine has a Cat B volvo 850 sitting on his drive with basically no damage at all, I dont know why he let them do it guess he needed the money.
dented wing and a scuff on the bumper, no one even looked at the car.
I am questioning the sanity of half of your countries insurance companies
If the car is worth like ยฃ2-4k the amount that gets spent on transportation, storage, evaluation, transporting to repair, courtesy car.
financially it makes sense
One of the reasons insurance is basically useless to me for any incident that doesent include my car being totally destroyed
They'd probably immediately Cat B it or require an engineers report which would tear it to shreds probably
Welding on it is acceptable for a MOT but : /
yeah its pretty compact, but honestly havent had too much of an issue fitting stuff in it... although as my only car it can be challenging at times lol
Just wait till you need a TV or appliance of some sort ๐
even compared to 'normal' cars it seems small... which is wild
i want one now...
Oh, I've taken it to Ikea before... most of the stuff ended up in the passenger seat lol
well i guess you just put the top down and put stuff over there
xD
is it automatic or manual?
transmission*
I havent done too much to it, because parts for these cars are hellish expensive now-a-days
6 spd made just for the S2k
the trans is actually used a lot with RWD k-swaps
i wasnt talking about space of the trunk i was talking about the size of the entery hole to the trunk space
are you asking me?
@turbid onyx
8c? really?
interesting
really dont see many around anymore, if ever
last one I saw was chopped up... or rather off
as in someone chopped off the windscreen
@hasty onyx bro that car you got is crazy expensive rn. how much did you originaly pay for it?
too much lol
im looking at them rn and they go for over 30k
and an 8c is leagues far and above an s2k for price
oh jk, it was a 4C at the canadian auto show
just found the pic now
i paid around CA$30k, but sank another CA$10k in preventative maint. stuff and mods
wow
and i thought my camaro was expensive to do stuff to
just compared the s2k to the miata with price and they seem to be the same... kinda...
ok that might be the same size then..
Thatโs what a carbon tub will do
Wish mine was at least aluminum
Oh was the 8C aluminum with carbon panels?
I assumed it was the same as the 4C, interesting
Are the control arms and such aluminum at least?
Because that being steel on my car really annoys me, just existing makes them rust
Nearly a month the last time we drove it was march 13th. The id4 experince hasen't been optimal since we cant charge it at home but it works fine without it. It charges quite fast now with upgraded charging curv it peaks at 135kw/h and stays above 80kw/h until 80%.
Nice
BJS parking lot
Right, lots of North America looks the same tbh
Yup
Weak
I take my rhd car through the drivethru all the time
really not that hard to lean across lol
Just go through in reverse!
So I'm wondering, is there somewhere that explicitly says whether a state will allow a vehicle to be retitled when it already has a rebuilt title from another state? I'm looking at a car being sold in Ohio and the listing says it has a rebuilt title from Kentucky, but can't be retitled in Ohio because of that so I'm trying to find a way to tell what states you'd be able to retitle a car like that in.
Why do Corvettes seem to look similar to Ferrari and Lamborghini and McLaren and stuff despite being far cheaper?
I honestly never figured that out maybe because the brand name is way more popular
Because its an American Sports car
Wow!!
That plate is the best part
Too bad the got the car in the most boring color imaginable
But it's not black? haha
Or am I totally blind here
Looks grey
So when is he getting rid of the chrome trim bits
haha okay
I like the wheels
They are this kind of style right?
Sweet
I actually have my new wheels arriving in the next hour or so
These
Mercedes Benz AMG GT Black Series....... Or NOTHING.
I guess nothing then.
Yep Iโm walking to work
Until they have electrical issues
I know that relaibility is a problem but modded bmw's are something else
German cars is a case of "just because you can afford to buy it, doesn't mean that you can afford to own it"
haha very true
My dad has a 2004 E Class
Yearly maintance has been more than it's worth.
Still cheaper than buying something else.
Very good indeed I really like to have moisture in the headlights in my โฌ200k BMW. https://youtu.be/XVYs81ao9EQ?t=240

I still love my ram German cars are pretty to look at but just owning one seems like a pain
They are not that pretty anymore at least not BMW.
It's one of those things that looks weird in pictures
But when you've got one driving behind you it's epic
Bmw just wanted their fanbase to drive toasters
New shoes
Are you putting these on the Miata?
Are they size 13 wide?
Yes
Not my first, or second, or 10th choice, but I believe those are forged?
actually not sure, got them from a friend for 450โฌ including tyres which are nokian hakka black 2 so pretty damn nice ones
Vinyl dye
maybe, I have a spare beige interior to fuck up
I have dyed a lot of BMW vinyl with VHT vinyl dye it works well
sorry, SEM vinyl dye
OK - not forged, just case. But still not horrible.
the top of the dash is like a soft sort of material
prob vinyl
its lots of little threads, absorbs stains extremely well.
The problem is everything is beige, carpets, seats etc
Yep - spray bomb it all ๐
Its a lot of work but it works well
This was not the original color
it was like...
Id love to run these seats in my 305 but I imagine it would clash with the beige alot heh
Original
Its probably more effort than im willing to do
the dash/etc. is not bad
the carpet sucks
terrible white balance
but you can see that door panel
and the carpet was beige too
my center console is a good illustration of how little effort I put into interior things
My door fell off a while ago and ive properly fixed it since but yet to refit my doorcard.
Didn't know that you could get an M440i with a tow bar.
Bmw marketing trying to sell 4 series to dutch people
If you can put a caravan on it its a car, if you can't screw it ๐
Still deciding whether I want to keep the BX
nice 5 door car with nice interior but can I be bothered
I could convert it to springs and it would be perfect
Nice
miat
Damn that Bonnet of the Astra is crusty isn't it
Als why order an Astra in Sunny Melon, that's hideous
it was white, its a van ex council
No that's not sunny melon, it's even worse
Ah
That explains it
Actual painted counsel car, those are just stickered/wrapped here
There was no factory yellow on the H apparently
Is a 2011 bmw 335I reliable?
Is any car a reliable car?
I mean my dad had a Toyota sienna for like 15 yrs and nothing rlly happened itโs js that he crashed it so I would say that was reliable
A big reason why a car can have good reliability is preventative maintenance.
Often if you take care of it, it will take care of you.
He abused the absolute fuck out of it ๐
Long ass road trips like once a month and he did like yearly servicing
Often when people say "How reliable is X?"
They are asking "How much can I neglect this?"
I'm assuming that it's the E90 335?
Cars produced in the latter years of production often have weird kinks worked out.
I've just spotted my first Ford Bronco
It was the fake Bronco tho, the Sport, but still rare here
Long road trips are actually โgoodโ miles
Short city driving is abusing a car
Seems like the model 3 refresh just got leaked looks way better imo with those new headlights.
I found teslas annoying to drive
I don't have the funds to drive a tesla ๐
To drive one you do.
Just not to own one.
The mirrors look different
There not the cheapest but there nice interior
Although I hate the regeneration breaking
Itโs like as soon as you get off the gas you slam the breaks
The old p100d never did that
Should be configurable
It is but you would get less miles setting it to 0
I think for the most aggressive they call it โone pedal drivingโ?
Not inherently
Well to 0 yes
But I donโt think you can do that
I was thinking a model s plaid would be nice but I might just get a Lexus and be good with it
Idk I went down to 10 and it still felt like some dude was slamming the breaks
I like to refer to the Sport as a modern Bronco II
Come to texas
The base model with 3 banger screaming and steelies with bald tires are everywhere here
The real one
Not the sport
The bronco sport is still incredibly capable
Indeed, to a certain point. My parents found that out the hard way with my Moms Sport when it snowed like hell here in Cali a few months ago
No one said it wasn't
The new bronco sport crawls up hells gate, i am very impressed by this rig. Not a hard-core off roader but in my opinion best in its class.
at least the sport's engine is better equipped for it than the full bronco
that thing is overworked as hell
At that point I would just get a old Bronco, which I actually like better
Would've been a great gasoline-electric vehicle tbh.
Yeah the 4 cylinder is kind of a joke for a bronco but at the same time 300hp with 10 gears is not terrible
have the engine provide power to electric motors
Bro a powerboost bronco would absolutely fuck
They should've put the 2.7 in the bronco
they did
They did
it's an option
That sounds pretty decent
In other words, basically something like a diesel-electric locomotive, except with a gas engine in a ford bronco
yeah pretty much
That's just a hybrid
been on a few ships with diesel-electric and it's been great
it is a hybrid but it's not "just a hybrid"
there's no battery involved
In cars they have to have some kind of battery to act as a buffer
In a locomotive or ship the engine runs at an almost constant speed
All they have to do is drop the powerboost f150 motor and trans in and we have a hybrid bronco with a whole lotta oomf and 4wd
Its basically drop in
Because the engine is running a generator
The biggest issue with a batteryless hybrid is you cant output more power than the engine can produce
Unless you gear it down which actually might work but then you have speed issues
true
Ah well
I'm sure the professionals know more about this and haven't done it for reasons
If you ask the car for more power then it will stall
Assuming the computers dont kick in
If they do then your just a sitting duck unless you go back
I mean theoretically you could actually put a torque converter between the motor and the motor
But at that point just use the existing transmissions you have sitting in the back room at the factory
It just isn't really worth it for the automakers
They have no reason to not just add a battery
^
And plus cell technology is always improving so it just makes more sense to bhev your lineup
Free power and free fuel economy
personally avoiding electric until toyota's (panasonic) solid state batteries become a mainstream
that prius is coming for my miata, that 0-60 is nuts for a prius
In track mode you can set it 0 but it's not really optimal to drive in track mode all the time.
I love the new prius
If I could afford one then I'd buy one
it looks super good
I saw a crown the other day too, also looks great
I would rather die than own a prius
then perish ๐
Well that's the idea
I think the new prius generation is trying to be more what car enthusiasts want
Its got a long ways to go but it's a step in the right direction i suppose
oh don't get me wrong, I'd never willingly replace my miata with one.
But if I had kids some day and it just wasn't practical anymore, and I needed a safe family car? It'd be high on the list
Right behind a GR corolla and Type R
We have a honda crosstour too and honestly I love that thing. It still shocks me that even being that big it's smaller than most other vehicles on the road around me
Bro same
If I ever have kids, its a simple upgrade from a 2-door to a 4-door pickup for me
Or just install some seats in the bed with a camper shell
It definitely isn't an enthusiast car but it'd be an amazing daily
If I remember right it's rated to get almost 60mpg in the city
if they're giving me what I want, slap that i6 RWD platform in a new mazda 6 and give me a manual option

There's no way id ever get rid of the cars i have, worked too hard to have them in the first place
erm, okay?
Frrrrr
I love my 6 but I wish it had the turbo or the i6 with the turbo
rwd or awd Iโd be happy
Many teens who drive cars they just run it to the ground
For me, I will properly maintain the cars
The new Prius looks sick
The older gens I get second hand embarrasment every time I see one
Exactly
You can with some easy mods: https://abstractocean.com/products/s3xy-buttons
The button free interior of your Model 3 & Y is simple, clean, and, very occasionally, a tad annoying! There's so much you can do via the screen, but sometimes, don't you wish you actually had a glovebox button? Or a button to quickly turn on all your interior lights? Well, want no more....we bring you S3XY buttons!
imagine having an electric glovebox
Being able to lock it with a PIN instead of a physical key is pretty nice
Ford has had that for decades
i've never seen a Ford with a glovebox PIN lock
I thought you were talking about the vehicle itself
I find glovebox locks to be pretty pointless
then i guess you don't have stuff to lock in there
If somebody breaks into your car and finds the glovebox to be locked there's nothing stopping them from just breaking it open
It's plastic
i'm not worried about burglars, i'm worried about passengers
Especially considering its a tesla
You could probably knock on it and itll pop open after a bit of creaking
The big issue with the teslas is the glass in the back corner
Thieves break it to flip the seat down
Im not concerned about teslas security, Sentry mode is pretty cool
I'm always amazed when people shittalk stuff they don't have or know.
This has been fixed for at least a year
That doesn't fix the previous model years as far as I'm aware
Im only concerned about the appalling levels of build quality they practice
$130K for a car with paint gouges and misaligned panels
I've had six, only one with any issues was a 2014
Tesla told me take it or leave itโฆ and wait another few months
The build quality on them is pretty unacceptable compared to other automakers

The other major automaker I have issues with is rivian
Which was only the outside, i dont even want to know how the inside looks like
Their paint quality was appalling
I can show you if you want
You can show me but you cant downplay the fact that kinda build quality on a car over $100K is unacceptable
I'll take my own sample set over the loud internet minority
I also just dislike tesla as a company
calling it a minority is pretty funny
hundreds of posts spanning multiple forums claiming this exact issues
The anti rtr measures that they take are pretty bad
besides that i dont really have much against it
theyre good A to B cars but thats it
id still take my BMW over a Tesla anyday
The removal of the ultrasonic sensors is also kind of a questionable decision in my opinion
Guess i've had the wrong BMWs
No, you just have different preferences and thats fine
I just value different things
ah, ok - i thought you talked in general terms
rowing my own gears through 900 horsepower is what i see is fun
After nine years of driving automatics on roadtrips i finally took my manual toy last year. Not that i regret it, but i'll never do it again
My a4 is a manual
Yeah I wouldnt ever take a manual on a long trip tbh
But it's also from the era where automatics were still worse
The 335i is a weekend car/racing car
the 328i is my daily and has an automatic
335i auto cant hold the power i have it tuned to
My work truck is an automatic
My dakota is going to be an automatic because it produces more consistent times
Through Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and up to Germany again
Is that the traction control in third and fourth or is it misfiring? ๐
thats the tires spinning
too much power to the wheels so its not able to get traction
we keep traction off during these races
it doesnt get traction until 3rd gear, sometimes 4th if its not warm enough
fun times
Thatโs mostly a US factory thing
German and Chinese built cars are significantly better
Eh
Even BMWs built in Mexico are better built than Teslas
its an issue to do with workplace values
the cars Tesla put out in Germany are better than the BMWs of equivalent cost
Toyotas and stuff are built here too
Speaking of German built teslas, I saw a model Y with the quicksilver paint for the first time today, absolutely stunning
cant speak for german ones havent seen any
Prying open the glovebox will also work for your car
Locks only stop honest thieves
But its still a lock
And a mechanical latch
Bro think he can drive backwards without me realizing ๐
Wow!! This summer, I will be visiting:
Berlin
Stuttgart
Zurich
Bern
Milan
Venice
Ljubljana
Zagreb
Budapest
Munich
Salzburg
Prague
Berlin
Yes. @brittle totem will be happy since he complained of some of his VWs but praised Teslas build quality
Many Americans have bad experiences with their Teslas.
Yeah the diffeance between the US and german build Teslas are quite big. I have been some US build model 3,s and they have felt quite bad for their pricetag but in the model y,s i have been in have felt good both where the 2022 model year and nothing you really can complain about quality wise. But I guess that brands like BMW,Mercedes and Audi has better build quality still.
For a few years now, Teslas made in the US have not seen a quality improvement in build quality
@dusk ocean I saw the cleanest E53 4.8is today, clearly someone took care of it. These things were the best.
(not the one I saw, obviously)
You could get these with a 6-speed manual
Nice I liked them. The wheels/tires were huge at the time. I almost bought a friend's 4.6is in estoril blue.
With the V8?
I know first gen Cayenne the stick was only available with the base engine.
After looking, I think it's only with the 3.0i models
No only m54 had 5 speed
The fun option is never available. Though lets be honest they'd sell like 5 of them.
Ah yes
E38 guys did 6 speed out of e39 a lot
Because euro 728 or some shit came manual so you could get an oe pedal setup
@compact grotto the only suck about 4.6is and 4.8is is that they were just m62 engines not s62 or anything
God.. E38's too.. same "look". That generation of BMW was so cool looking.
good engine when it runs right (M54)
I loved e38 sports
When they weren't busy pulling the threads out of the aluminum block
changed the bearings thinking it would solve some loud bearing noise under the hood but it ended up being a fan clutch lol
sheesh - any time you have engine noise remove the drive belt
@compact grotto I still have this "coffee table" I made lol (I don't have the carpet)
Those are always sick. Also that carpet looks like grass.
in the garage:
nice
Interesting lighting setup in there lol
its no rgb tool box
the E70 is an N52 and with pretty low miles
N52 ๐ฆ
ANALOG MPG GAUGE
Wow!! It is so odd that US tax credits only apply to US build vehicles
So that meant to get the tax credits, you need a worse vehicle
Ngifisa ukwazi ukuthi ikhwalithi yokwakhiwa kweTeslas enhle isiphelile kanjani eJalimane uma iqhathaniswa ne-United States? Ingabe iqhathaniswa neVolkswagen noma i-Opel yaseJalimane?
Wow!! Vim li cas koj thiaj khuv xim tsav tsheb hauv phau ntawv? Koj puas paub nrog kev ua haujlwm tsis zoo?
yah - bestest. I have a half finished circuit designed to turn it into a boost gauge.
Kuv xav paub tias koj hais lus Hmoob zoo npaum li cas? Koj xav li cas rau Suav tsheb?
reliable so far, egr valve has been changed because of a fire recall
now the pcv is being recalled for a fire risk
would have been a good temp gauge
bmws of this era got rid of it
I have an F30/F80 so yeah, no dipstick no temp gauge
but I also have E30s and E34s
I thought the f30s had temp gauges
oil temp
yeah they brought it back for the F series
same-same
i like the way they did the lane sensing lights
aged setup but i think it stands out better than displays
Those were like the peak of modern BMW gauges
unrelated
i love how twitter says you cant advertise for other platforms
and then they have a fucking instagram account
I just put 300s on the rear tires of my infinity G35 so it dosnt spin with 450 horse itโs also baged btw
Waiting for my wide body kit to come in
I do have a vid that my dad took of the exhaust but you canโt hear the single turbo sadly
That is not the plate now on it so idc that it is showing
It was also taken before I modded the tires
Stock rear tires are 245s
Why do I always see in god we trust plates from Indiana?
Idk
But the single turbo V6 sound nice
I also have a infinity M56X with a wipple supercharger on it making around 600 horse
And it has a V8
And a custom straight piped exhaust
Manontany tena aho hoe nahoana ianao no nifidy ny Infiniti G35 na dia misy fiara hafa tsara kokoa aza?
But I donโt have a vid it it
What
Go to Madagascar to find out. I believe Madagascans would like your Infiniti
Maybe the Infiniti G35 could be the best car in Madagascar
I keep both the g35 is a project car
And I daily drive the M56X
Iโm 16 and have my license so Iโm not doing anything illegal but a little speeding
Wow!!
I was driving at night on i465 and I hit 160 mph / 257.5 kph before seeing a cop who didnโt even try to pull me over
That is amazing!
How do you still have a license
Man's just pays the tickets
vq35 go brrrrr
idk
yep lol
looking to buy a 520i e39 with a m52 engine , what should i expect
Lots of miles on it.
and rust
Most likely.
What hit it? A semi?
There are a lot of E39 in my area and I live in Cambridge
Many of them still look very clean
They are as common as their chief rival, the W210
Chief rival of E39
260k mi by the way
My uncle and aunt (88 and 86 respectively) bought a W210 estate in 1997.
What I meant is this car
There is even an equivalent called the E39 estate
Now that same uncle and aunt moved to the US due to sponsorship in 2016, and hence, they upgraded to the W213 when they came there
2017 Mercedes Benz E300 4MATIC
Mast for catenary.
One of the reasons i want to get a pilots license
I was going "WTF is that car?"
Hyundai Grandeur 3.3 V6 Shiftronic, 235hk, 2007 ther is only 71 of them registered in Sweden. https://www.car.info/sv-se/license-plate/S/CAU834
Not sure if damage or baby yoda
Yeah. Looked it up myself. Rarity.
Loving the supra isn't a weird thing
A overhyped one for sure
I'll judge you depending on which Supra you say.
Brh to be honest if i had to choose between mk4 and mk5 i will choose mk5 all blacked out with bbs rims anaydqy
Also, if you were 12. Then I would have reported you.
๐
Discord TOS says minimum age is 13.
Brh i am well over tha
Sounds like something a 14 year old would say
Ik brh but just for y'all to know i am 18
But mentally i can confirm 14 is the exact age i expect to be
The way you type betrayed that already. ๐
Same, except I'm 15 with the mentality of a cringy 12 year-old with ADHD
That likes trucks
and computers
and hobby-grade RC cars
You guys making me feel old
