I forget if they all came with air suspension on all four corners. Or if it was just the rear.
I have seen a lot of W220 on the internet with lowered suspension
It's common to swap out problematic air suspension to normal springs.
Couldn't do more then 2 hours in stratch without taking a break. Even the backseats are more comfortable the front seats which is bascially never the case. If we dont talk about luxery cars.
Just don't do long road trips on exotics then
"And here you see the S class in its normal resting position" - David Attenborough
Do it on something like a Rolls Royce
W221 improved the suspension issues. This is a problem mainly on W220
So wait. If you improve on an issue. Are you making it worse?
Longest road trip that I have done, in the worst seats. Were probably a drive up to my cousins in a Citroen Nemo
why do people slam their cars so low on daily cars
Yeah that sound very resonble just get $400k+ car for your longer drives.
The problem is it is too expensive
Not only to buy, but to fuel and to maintain
I would suggest more of a hybrid or EV type
No idea its quite common here in Sweden but I don"t understanf way becuase the car looks way worse and makes it undriveble if you dont want scratch it every speed bump.
Like Lexus ES, Toyota Camry XLE, Tesla Model S, BMW i7/i4, Honda Accord, etc.
500 km's with these seats. Nonstop.
Mine is slightly lowered. But it's still very usable.
There is however one E46 in my garage that's uhh. I believe the front springs have given up.
Pristine bodyworks
TL;DR - RUN.
S Class the same thing but with 270k miles
It's only worth anything in parts.
Oh, I'm surprised that the bot didn't bonk me for using caps.
I am kind of curious how many km is on your E46?
Around 178,000 km's.
Didn't know that you could get the current generation Touareg for less then €40k and it "only" have 60000km so not that high milage to. https://www.blocket.se/annons/alvsborg/volkswagen_touareg_kampanj_tdi_4m_executive_driver_assist/100171487
That sounds about right in mileage for a 4 year old car. 15,000 km's a year.
Yeah but the price seems low i thought that it would have over 100k km on it. The touareg goes for like €85k new for the base model.
Man... I'm looking at the exterior thinking "Man. The Touareg looks pretty nice."
But then I see the bland-ass interior.
Nothing about the interior looks (and probably feels) inspiring.
I think the interior looks better then Audi Q7 the only things that looks worse then Audi is the steering wheel.
The steering wheel looks like it's ripped straight off a VW Polo or something.
It's probably nice enough to drive. But I just couldn't.
Those seats also look mediocre, at best.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class W220 review! The W220 S-Class is the S-Class model that everyone hates. Today I'm reviewing the S600, and I'm going to show you why this car is so controversial -- and so hated. I'm going to take you on a thorough tour of the W220 S-Class, and then I'll get it out on the road ...
Doug DeMuro explains the S Class
Even though it is the worst S Class, it is still good compared to many cars
When it's good. It's great.
When it's bad. OH BOY IS IT BAD.
He stood next to the EQS while talking about his Cars And Bids. I would that car is also fairly terrible.
I can't believe they allow you to run an secondary plate. tbh
Even if it is from another country.
In the United States in a state that doesn’t require front plates you can put whatever you want on the front
I would just figure that you wouldn't be allowed to put an actual license plate there. Considering that the plate could come back to an actual vehicle in Germany.
Why not
If the plate doesn’t mean anything in x country
I really wish I’d be allowed to run without a front plate here
Temped to just try it and see how long it takes to get a ticket
Okay. Say that you have an American plate in the back. And an Canadian plate up front (where I believe it's required?). How would they know where that vehicle is from?
Maybe they can even WOK your car? Ngl wouldn't try it
Or even worse. Say that you're visiting Canada with an American plate in the rear, Canadian in the front.
What happens then?
Well they’d just run the local plate see if anything comes up
I know that plenty people are running Euro plates in the front of their Euro cars in America. But I'm sure it can't be totally legal.
I seriously doubt they could do anything about that
Since it’s just decorative essentially
I would probably just get a different vanity plate. Just to be certain it wouldn't come back to anything.
I'm sure countries reuse combinations that become free once the previous car gets deregistered.
In certain European countries the plate is connected to the owner
So if you switch cars you take the plate with you
Here they are connected with the car.
But I still imagine that once a car become deregistered that the plate becomes reusable again.
I don’t think that’s the case in NL
In NL only when you reregister that exact car again
Plates are numbered/dated/.. by first NL registration
So a 2023 car with a 2003 would look weird
Older cars in Sweden would have the combination of ABC123, but as a few years ago they switched over to ABC12D
NL goes to combinations crazy fast
I remember when all cars had XX-XX-XX plates
And then suddenly there were different formats
8-10 year old me got very confused
Or however long ago that was
I believe for Germany, then the first letters is basically the area code?
XX-99-XX and then XX-XX-99 was to like 2000, then 2000-2007 had 99-XX-XX, 2008-2012 99-XXX-9, 2012-2015 9-XXX-99, 2015-2019 XX-999-X, 2019- X-999-XX. Could be slightly off, but especially the last 2 decades quite fast
Yup
The problem with using numbers is that we don't really have too many to pick from.
Which is why Sweden is using four letters, and two numbers now.
They limit a lot of letters here
Instead of three letters/three numbers.
Doesn’t the king have his own letter or something
Can’t beat my PP though
Usually G, H, J, K, L, N, P, R, S, T, X and Z as starting letters, and then other vowels as other letters (excluding stuff like Y and C I think?)
Yeah AA-99
AA-<number> , fixed AA
I want a plate like 00-RPJ-0
Can't have J I think
Lame
Well you used to
The audi and truck are safe
We had TJLZ28
I just finished moving them into a shed at work
Personalized NL plates
I'm thinking about getting me a vanity plate to keep in the truck.
When they'll tax you 12c/km

Personalized plates on the dakota were only $7 more than regular ones
Okay, time for me to sleep so I can wake up for F1
I don't think I can get personalized plates on the f350 because it has class C plates unfortunately
SVV = Speciaal Voorrang Voertuig
Kek at that price anyone would have one here
Probably because V8 Tronk
Registration for that thing was only like $151 a year or something
It isn't bad
Insurance was the expensive part
laughs in €725/year for a 1.2 supermini
$356 every six months for liability alone
😭
And that truck had a 5.9L V8
Horrible emissions I'm sure
INB4 it's excluded due it it being a truck.
With the emissions, that is.
I mean it's a "truck"
Doesn't really have a usable towing or payload capacity
It's a muscle truck
Government see it as a truck. Therefore it's used for work.
Basically.
The original version was mopar's way at skirting around emissions regulations to make a muscle vehicle
(The original version was the lil red express)
It was really meant as a competitor to the Ford Ranger and the GMC Canyon/ Chevy Colorado
Yeah, true
Considering the r/t has the 5.9 out of the 1500
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
That truck there.
Just blew straight through.
And the 46re
Also the 9.25 corporate rear end
Now you Europeans will love this
If I had emissions inspections my truck would be exempt because it's a "commercial vehicle"
The f350
Having an F350 here in Europe would come with so many headaches.
Considering that they are heavy enough to require a C1 license.
Along with a tachograph.
Oh, and it would be limited to 90 kmh, too.
And I was daily driving it from November until last week 💀
From the factory it was speed limited to 96mph but when I tuned it the limiter was subsequently disabled
The tires are rated for 112mph if I remember right
And I've had it pretty dang close to that
Anything with a GVWR of over 3,500 kg is required to be limited to 90 kmh.
It would keep going if I had the tire to let it
Oh that truck is waaaaay over that
It has a 9800lbs gvwr
Euro rules.
That's 4445kg according to google
But you are right
My truck would be a nightmare to drive there
It's a crew cab long bed so it's 22ft long
Let me check how long my truck is...
It's 27 feet.
But I would almost imagine it having a better turning radius.
I have an 8ft bed
Heaviest load that I have willingly loaded on another truck that was basically the same was 19+ tonnes.
So 42,000 lbs
Anybody know of any tricks to get this back to nice and shiny?
maybe there’s some kind of polish or something? I really don’t feel like buying a new one
Does this mean that they have only made 35 Tesla Semi's?
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol are investigating a wild crash on the freeway that sent a car, and its 29-year-old driver, careening into an incredibly dangerous midair spin before it came crashing back down on the road. Sandra Mitchell reports for KTLA 5 News at 5, Mar. 27, 2023.

Honestly cassette decks are superior than CDs
Even if the belts break, you can still put a Bluetooth casette, so you can use your phone
Nearly any car with a cd player would also have an aux jack
Except when they use discontinued belt sizes like in my volvo
I dont own any cds I just get what I deem belongs on the format
same with 8 tracks
It's fun when you're driving a 38 metric tonnes of metal and suddenly your engine turns off
The brakes aren't failsafe?
It's difficult to steer without power steering
And I blocked the entire entrance
Same rims as our Tiguan allspace loaner 🤔
Not quite I think, they had the set of spokes slightly offset and these look equally partitioned? Also those are probably larger than 16"
But quite similar
Just your avrage Day in 🇸🇪

Found a Marcus Ericsson "statue" at the most random place.
Mine doesn’t🗿
Both of the old cars at my house don’t actually

Lol
Hi guys I love cars 😳 my favorite car is definitely got to be the JDM Nissan supra with the boxer engine 🥵
Thats craazy
Mines is the toyota RX-7
22b will always be better than any other scooby though
Hard to beat the VB on best Subaru
I guess that volkswagen has the slowest auto parking in existence . Ehat even is the point when it takes 2x the time then parking manually. https://youtu.be/po3zZ_Q1kDc
Slow and steady wins the race.
LTT thinks they can rebrand as a gardening channel. Joke's on them. I'm into that.
The forum is Linus Tesla Tips.
Which is around 2.5 euros
Funny thing is our neighbour gets it for 1 dollar per liter
People go there juss for petrol
Well the problem is that it takes so long before it find a place and when it finds one its usually trying to parallel park in it. Even if it a normal spot.
The model y is selling like crasy now I think that this is the first time a brand have overtaken volvo for the 1st place in like 20 years.
Tesla vehicles are one of those odd balls.
I can imagine that they are decently affordable to lease monthly. Since their residual value is so high.
Where as the insurance on them would also be through the roof.
thats a really fast fire bomb
They are decently priced to compared to other ev to like a similer equipped id4 is like 10k more for "worse" car ev wise. And they have really low intrest rates to on the car loan to.
once batteries stop sucking i was going to convert a 90s honda to electric
weighs 1500 pounds
Yeah my dads friend sold his model 3 after 3 years and like 80k km and he got like €2000 less then what he bought it after the after the 7k ev bonus that you used to get.
and probably 500 of that is engine and transmission
A big reason is that the batteries themselves are crazy expensive, and doesn't wear a whole lot.
I guess that id2 will do that if it actulley going to cost €25k like Volkswagen says.
I just hate the interior design and everything that the ID cars have going.
It's just really 'meh'.
Yeah it doesn't look the best but I guess it looks alright for 25k car. But I guess that this is fully loaded model and the base one isen't going to look anything like this.
Can't wait for the day vw gets the slap of being wiped off the top of Germanys car sales, but that won't ever happen
I guess a big problem is that you get a fairly high base price due to the price of batteries.
And then they somehow need to make an interior to reflect that price.
Is that a whacky steering wheel that's only attached at the bottom?
Well the Model y is above any of the Volvo models in Sweden now. So I guess it's the same in germany.
Na we be golfing
I miss analog gauges 😦
Kicking the golf off that spot is.. a challenge even for vw
It doesn't matter how plagued it is by software issues, it doesn't matter that they a increasing the price by 5k per Generation
It just doesn't leave
Well here in Sweden the passat went from a top 3 seller and now it's not even on the top 10 list anymore so anything can happend.
Here is the list from 2017-2019 so it has compeltely changed in just 4 years.
Friend of mine went to look fora new company car... Has his not even a year now but already has to order a new one soon as their lease is just 3y and the wait time is 1+ year
Translation: Tesla was quite disappointing

Spotted another S Class with the lowered suspension
Like a modded car
I prefer any S Class before or after it
Wheren't you supposed to get your first company car this year ?
my company leases fords for us to drive
have to drive them very carefully or the stupid odbi2 nanny bot tells on you
I can but Pricing atm doesn't make them interesting at all continuing driving my own car nets me like 500/month more
So for the time being I just keep driving this
The Astra I was looking for even got out of budget now
Best car I can get in budget now is a Clio Hybrid? No bad car but it's not worth the premium compared to my current car
Yoooo, i bought a full new interior today and my god it looks sooo good
The old vs the new
Ive wanted that exact spec seat for ages and i finally got it
use the stool
Just got this monster running. Waiting for racing season
My dad will need to look for a new company car soon to the lease for the passat will end on 4 january 2024. So we going to look on the id7 comes out. He isen't even allowed to get full ice car anoymore it most be PHEV or an EV. But the PHEV doesn't make sense finacially anymore after they removed all of the tax benefits on them so an ev it is.
Not sure if the passat will be out from the shop before the lease ends

ford is making gm commercials i see
lmao
And he wants to consider a VW again
Regular hybrids are also still allowed at my company, although banned from 2025 by NL so not for long
Well it's the only choice i guess in the category maybe the A6 E-tron but they haven't annouced when it will be avaible yet.

He wants something with the same size as the Passat is there any other option that isen't a id7 or a6 e-tron.
Yeah the current passat has been quite bad quality wise but the previous one that he hade didn't have a single issue during the 3,5 years that he hade it.
Even unsure those will be available then

Is the end of this video a April fools joke or not ? https://youtu.be/edDdZeTxpnE?t=830
The time has come to lay our old BMW X5 & Porsche Cayenne to be laid to rest…
So of course, we want them to go out with a bang! So we’re draining them of their oil, and we’re going to see which lasts the longest!
First up we have the Porsche. This Cayenne comes with a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 which can produce 335hp and 420Nm. Alongside it, we...

MSRP here was €105k/115k USD, so I'm not surprised by that

Close to $100k seems to be the going price for the S209.
I guess it's one of those true collectible vehicles.
Considering that they only made a bit over 200 of them.
Wow!!
Tbh I think it’ll fit
was it lamborghini or ferrari that started with tractors?
Laborgenie
oh that is why they are more based than ferrari
Lamborghini came into existence because of ferrari being stupid
Ferrari is just such a stupidly run company
they dont even allow people to paint the cars they bought
There's a reason that Jay Leno doesn't own a Ferrari
I'm just saying
Not that I could afford one
But if I could I would likely consider alternative vehicles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_boUTf3PVQ
these guys are probably black listed from ever buying a ferrari

yeah like the new corvettes look like a super car and costs $60k
or get a pantera, has a ford engine, way more reliable
Buying a new Ferrari isn't really like how the internet describes it.
You can paint them, you can resell them whenever you want, you can get them serviced wherever you want. A lot of the stories you hear are bs or they only apply to the super special edition stuff like the monza cars
would you get sued if you put a better engine in it?
No, of course not
Usually people think about the Deadmau5 car, but he got sued for violating Ferrari's trademark, not for the specific modifications he made to the car. It was the "Purrari" logo, not the fact he wrapped the car or anything like that
there are more than a few garishly painted and wrapped Ferrari's out there and Ferrari is totally fine with it
and a few LS swaps
lambo emailed him asking if he wanted to make a purracan
good marketing, for sure
lambo is bassed lol
they don't make cars for me, but I like the company
I thought someone got cease and decist for swapping a Ferrari and doing donuts and shit
Some Australian guy
I might be wrong, but it's a real car
my motorcycle is getting an interesting swap soon
How do my neighbors manage to get in their car turn it on and just have their music at the maximum volume known to man
At 8:53 am
I can still hear it and they drove away a couple minutes ago
Then why do so many Ferrari owners get a cease and desist when they do so?
I never seen a Ferrari in Italy on Italian plates
And looks like it's registered first time where I work
Yep
Oh. Nice
All I've seen were on Swiss, French and German plates
Oh wait
I might have told something false
I don't remember the plates of the supercars loaded at work tho
If these were registered at all
I used to, but now I told I don't want to do that
I tried to load a Porsche, I could not fit in the car or get out of it
when I loaded it up
it's hell being like 194 cm tall
One of the benefits of being a 170-172cm midget, is that I easily fit in my car
there are still the platform support pillars
A friend of mine is dealing with open transports. I think it's up to 5 vehicles on the truck.
My driveway is officially filled with trucks
Idk how they boutta fit all this stuff here
It was wrapped with stuff to protect it
but in my current job we hae enclosed ones, but it's impossible for me to get out
Have to just phase through the wall of the truck i guess

Did you watch Bob the Builder as a child on PBS?
Great quality from volkswagen on the fuel cap and you can barely open it to.
Yes I did
Wow!!
I watched Bob the builder in 2005 at age 4 when I was still in Vietnam
But I have heard that Bob used to be in some kids channel here in the states. I moved to the US in 2012, but do know PBS Kids even though I was too old to watch it when I arrived here
Still better quality than my moped. Which just opens randomly
Taking the long way home
what if ferrari sued ford because they used a horse on their mustang logo?
Yes officer it’s stock.
Can’t check the legality of the tint if they can’t reach it!
Tru
I found a Land Cruiser with a lowered suspension
Actually, it is a 2004 Lexus LX, with 160k mi
It was a good weekend. Took the M3 out to check on the S2k
I still like Porsche for the track. Seeing how we like Ferrari for the road
I saw an E46 M3 with 160k mi today
They’ll keep going if they’re maintained
Kennans E39 M5 2002 has 220k miles
I meant Doug DeMuro's friend
An unmaintained Toyota wouldn't be good either.
Restoration complete
We're planning to ship the RS over for ringmeet this year in August
If someone watched this video from the woods it would be the most off roading that truck has ever done.
I have seen several rare cars yesterday, including an Oldsmobile Bravada, 3 BMW M3 (E46, E90, F30), 2 Rivian R1T in Brookline with one parked alongside a Taycan 4S (I went through that apartment several times by the way), a Rivian EDV, a Lamborghini Urus, a series 1W Chevy Monte Carlo, a Buick Reatta, a W140 S420 (I have seen a fleet of W140 as well as E38 at a dealer in Connecticut yesterday), a Buick Reatta, and an AMC Gremlin
F30 isnt an M3 model
BMW pals throwing out random numbercodes
Honestly they lost me after the e92 after that its just luck getting the right one 👀
Part of me can understand it. But it's also silly.
I believe they had to use the front of the 4 series with the 3 series. Which is part of the reason for the change.
I paid 25 bucks for mine at Lidl.
Does the job
Sadly I'm with a truck and I think can't really go there with one
But could use that for the shit box Yaris I bought
If I have time that is
I mostly need interior cleaned
Can you do the seats with a steam cleaner as well?
Or guess I might need a small carpet cleaner for that.
I did clean entire sofa with it.
So I guess depends how bad they are
But generally I like to run fabric cleaner and shop vac
That might be what I would do.
I should be able to get my hands on a shop vac easy enough, probably.
Nah
These are like cheap.
Bought a shop vac for home because pandemic and were so much cheaper
Close to Fiat
Father owns a cleaning company. So I might be able to borrow everything from him.
And I thought Amazon was bad
Well, technically they have to unload me and load empties
And i get like 1 set of pallets every 20 mins
Gonna take normal 11 hour rest
I do that regardless. Just nice knowing that I'm not breaking any rules.
I had enough sleeping 5 hours per day.
Especially with a fucking GPS tracker that does not work in Switzerland and alarm going off every 2 minutes
Same reason why I never set off before 5 am.
I literally threw it outside
Any work between 1am and 5 am is instantly considered 'night work' and you're limited to 10 hours.
I think the earliest I can go is 5 am because Swiss restrictions
I know that Old Town in Stockholm has additional restrictions for what times you're allowed to operate.
Usually the latest I've ever worked was 1:30 because accident and closed highway
Generally I finish that route at 0:30
It's not permitted to drive between 11:00 and 06:00 in Old Town with a truck.
That's fair
So you're only allowed in there for 5 hours.
Not like me going with a rattling trailer and wake up entire street by going over potholes
Nah. You ain't driving there with a trailer.
You're limited to 8 meters in length, and 3.5 meters in height.
Still the metal things on the back of the truck can rattle
If you're not driving a boxed truck
You're pretty much just driving enclosed trucks, or a small crane truck in there.
It's not built for heavy traffic in the slightest.
Most of the deliveries are just made with small box trucks. That you only need a B license for.
I've seen 2 of b drivers license trucks that were overweight empty
I've hear something that it was under 3.5 tonnes on paper, but in reality it wasn't
How in lords name does that work?
I know that some with a end lift are only able to load 750 kg or something. Which is just bad.
One pallet, and you're overweight.
Apparently the documents of vehicle declared lower weight than it really was.
Basically some loophole
I know that you can register a 5 tonne total weight vehicle as a 3.5 tonne.
But you still can't gross more than the 3.5 tonne.
I think it was something like that, but the weight of the empty platform was lower than the empty platform really did weight
Weird cities skylines flex 👀
I may have played it too much recently...
I wanted to say this looks like the place I would see incredibly high traffic
I know of someone who drives a NV400 has his work vehicle, and it's lowered to a 3.5 tonne weight. Cause fuck having additional restrictions that comes with C1?
It's not. They try to route as much traffic around it as possible.
I mean in cities skylines
Me dumb dumb brain reads someone else post, thought I have written it, but I didn't
That's the place on an actual map.
Freeways going around it.
I just got a laugh, because half of it is photographed with a 3D view, other half isn't.
Now that's quality.
Yes I had a friend who had one (key word is I had one I don’t have one)
Ok I forgot. It was F80. I was sorry for being mistaken.
It's fine. It's one of those weird decisions that BMW made.
Probably something forced by marketing
Make as many different model designations as possible
Did someone mention my favourite game?
Yes
why ):
Because I swear most of the bad drivers on the road are in altimas, sentras, or elantras nowadays
I got cut off buy an altima weaving through traffic yesterday
I drive an Altima ):
but anyways im looking to get into something like this
obv not me
but these hondas go for like 4-5k on facebook
The kei truck or the bike
the truck
Kei trucks are so overpriced
bike too for speed
Why not just buy a ranger or something
4-5k is pretty cheap tho?
what is a ranger
Ford ranger
Aka Mazda b series
Cheaper than a kei truck
Ranger goes for 6k here
What about an s10
like 3-6k
Or a dakota
?
what
Other mini trucks
Dakotas are in Brazil
I'm actually trying to import one that was only made in Brazil
But not many companies deal with importing cars from Brazil
I was looking at them and found many for less in Brazil
I found multiple diesel dakotas (which is what I'm trying to get) around Sao Paulo
Otherwise Kei truck would probably be fine for you
Originally I thought you were in the US
r u from brasil
I'm in the US
oh we have some with cummins
Was made in Brazil only
I have one of the rarest dakotas made in the American market
And I want another weird dakota
we have diesel dakotas but this one server everyone says im lying
they're like
"old dakotas dont have diesel engines"
I know they exist because I've been researching them and trying to get one
i was saying give me a car recognisable in brasil cause i was born there but dont currently live there
i only know cars from there still
Where do you live now
SFL
I really wanna get a VW GOL but it's too expensive to ship over here
and no i dont mean GOLF
im talking about this but newer
like this
only made in south america
very hard to find these in florida
but around 2 of these are sold per year in florida
In Florida you could probably find a decent dakota for not much money
It's the south so you don't have to deal with rust
im not really looking for trucks to tow stuff with
im looking for one to go through floods with
because it rains a lot here lol
like not too much power, but i also want something small and compact
like ebikes, hatchbacks, kei trucks
coupes
etc
Dakotas are mini trucks
or like Toyota 4runner
A bit bigger than an s10 or ranger but still a mini truck
Bro completed the Roblox obby
Still would rather have a Toyota pickup
Bring back the little truck dammit
Make a unibody based on the rav 4 hybrid to compete with the maverick you cowards
It isn’t a truck *for you

Honestly I'd recommend importing a polo over a gol
wtf is a polo
a model of VW
never heard of it
One class below golf, similar in size to the gol maybe a tiny bit smaller
Idk if they're sold by brazil vw or if they ditched it out of south America and only europe/africa still got it
From what i know they have a nicer interior
(but would recommend the pre facelift in the current generation)
Probably more expensive tho a new one is like 23k€ over here
25k if you want DSG buuut why spend extra on an automatic
Manual is second nature to me.
Haven't owned one automatic yet
My first and only car (E46) is a manual.
Had it for almost 8 years now.-
But driven a bunch of auto's.
Well company car is.. an i3 so yeah that's a thing
First time I drove an automatic I did the classic stab of the brake when I went for the clutch.
I don't trust weird gear selectors in automatics
was funny driving a LHD car and going for the gear stick with my left hand
The one in the i3 kinda ok, not exactly something i trust but the small ones that are as big as a thumb i don't trust those
They seem evil
I think alot of old auto shifters look cheap and tacky I cant stand them
Many trucks like to different shifters as well.
Volvo FM, FMX, and FH still uses a classis gear shifting level by the base of your seat.
I see where they are
Trucks always look like a nice place to be
you'd hope so
Yeah
Well i only drove automatics for the first year of practice driving before we got a manual car. And I didn't have a single issue with learning to drive manual and got my license with no problems on the first try to. Not sure why everyone is saying that it a bad idea to start driving an automatic if you want a manual license my brother did the same at didnt have any issue to with learning manual.
I can see alot of people going fuck it and just doing a auto test out of lazyness
I honestly don't really mind if auto or not, i look at car decide if i like and then go on
You are bit like my dad he always have hand on the gear selector when slowing down and accelerating and he has mainly driven automatic cars like 12 years now.
If my next car is gonna be electric im forced to got auto anyways
If not eh, time will tell what my brain will tell me to vuy
Definitely a bid idea... I bid 3 bucks
😛
They have to be when you're spending 40 hours a week driving them.

dude if they put that in a mazda 6

turbo straight 6 in that little sedan rwd would be godlike
More inline 6 engines make me happy.
The volvo shifted always really nice
I think it was the truck I was the most comfortable with
But now I'm stuck with this nightmare that sounds like a 2004 bus door
I know of a tall driver driving a Mercedes Arocs. His head is basically in the roof of the truck. You see his butt through the window.
My eyes are on the tachograph when I sit straight
This truck really is killing me with ergonomics
I'm just hating not having arm rests in the truck.
Guess how many times I went on reverse when I intended to go forwards
The thing I hate is that the passager seat has 2 armrests
Drivers idę has only 1
Now that's bad.
The volvo I used to drive had 2 armrests for driver
Having two arm rests is just nice for locking yourself in if you have to.
Or you know, actually resting your arms.
I drive mostly with my left arm.
The lack of armrest really makes my arm hurt when driving for like 9 hours a day
Not including being in congestions
I get thrown off my seat so easily due to my height
Ordered a set of wheels
What are you getting?
What did you get?
BMW's Style 304
Cool
Nobody in my area is willing to give a price quote on repairing a smashed rear quarter panel on an 06 mustang convertible I wanna buy 😞 at this point I'm just considering buying the car and doing the work myself. It's like $400 for the parts, but all the collision repair centers will probably want 5x that for the labor
Most repair places probably don't like working on personal vehicles. Much easier to get a yes/no from insurance companies on lease vehicles.
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRcUwgBe/ mfs in the comments talking ab how it’s electric but honestly idfc this shit looks stunning
it's actually way easier than that it's over 10 years old = body shops dont want to deal with rust.
insurance would write it off before risking digging into a rusty mess hidden beneath.
Anyone know a good place to look for car info? Looking into trading in my daily driver comuter (2016 Subaru with automatic transmission) for something a little more fun but still practical. Don’t have much or any knowledge of cars.
I thought that might be the case. The way I see it, the only way this car is ever going to make it off the salvage lot is if me or someone else with the intention of restoring it comes along and puts it back on the road all by themselves. Not many people are willing to drop $5k on a salvage title car that's that old and put the time and effort into bringing it back
apparently my ford f250 sync4 infotainment system is running off of windows…. I scanned the ports (yes this is legal because it’s my vehicle on my router via internal ip) and found port 7000 open. I tried to rdp into it but it’s stuck on configuring your pc. pretty crazy
Why that “yes it’s legal” disclaimer , who would assume it isn’t?
This sounds like a great deal.
Less than 6000$usd.to.buy and import to new York.

This is better than teslas because of its 0 emmisons and 2 cylinder v12 and 300 mile without a charge and 4 electric motors
wat??
im got one of these i want to restore
the windows have been leaking for decades so it has rust inside that will suck to remove
2 cylinder V12 and electric? So many things you said don't go together
Oh mb I meant to send a pic of a lotus
The words... Do not match either.
2 cylinder when a V12 is a 12 cyclinder for the pistons , 0 emission yet can travel 300 miles with no charge and it has 4 electric motor?
0 emissions because it threw 2 of the 12 cylinders.
Triple A offers 300 miles of towing at no charge.
My Corolla has at least 7 electric motors.
One for each window, two for the wipers, and a final one for the HVAC fan
I had an interesting run in on the bike today - bunch of cobra chickens wandering on the road, this dumbass decided to try to sneak by. 🤦♂️ Yeah they were unimpressed.
im making a hard descision
im switching from milwaukee to harbor freight
😢
the hercules line is comically good value i just cant keep buying tools for the same quality and warranty for 200 more
straight up about to disown my father for making me miss out on a 1997 SVT Cobra for $2000. It was clean, only needed repainted and a new oil pump, both of which I'm fully equipped to do. But because of the stunt he pulled, it's someone else's now. Never consulting him about car stuff again.
Got any important things coming up? Graduation from something..? birthday...?
Graduating from college next month yeah. Birthday was last month.
I swear, he treated this like he was buying an 85 pickup truck. I was ready to offer the seller full asking price in cash for pickup tomorrow, but he insisted that I ask them all these meaningless questions before making an offer, and because I listened to him, someone outright bought it in the meantime.
I don't want to get your hopes up, i really don't. But it's possible your dad mightve gotten up with a friend of his or another one of your relatives to surprise you with the car
Yeah that didn't happen. This car was in the next state over, my dad doesn't have that amount of money laying around. I just think he genuinely (incredibly stupidly) thought that nobody would buy it outright in the time it took to literally drive to the next state over, inspect the car, and negotiate the price on this incredibly rare car. We looked it up and apparently there were only 43 made with this specific color and interior combination.
The next car on my list is an '11 mustang, V6 manual with 168k miles in the next town over for $7500. Only issue is that I don't have that kind of money and no employer willing to pay me more than minimum wage is accepting my applications. So it'll take way longer than the time between now and my 21st birthday to save up for it if I settle for a job making $7.15 an hour
Uh, so, I don't mean to change the topic, but you do want to see an extremely impressive serpentine belt?
Damn
I think it would make me feel better yeah
This is the new belt me and my friend put in his mom's 07 Saturn very early last month
End of February sorry
And...this is the one we took off the car, sixteen years old this is the original serpentine belt from 2007
@wind peak
wow
Old one was in such good condition they kept it in case they needed it
That's genuinely impressive. was replacing a starter on a 13 elantra and noticed while we were in there that there was a belt that was cracked and probably needed replacing. Even tho that's one of the consumable items the dealership supposedly replaced before it was purchased a year prior
Damn
But after we saw the brake pads they also said they put on it, we understood. They just used major cheapo components for everything they replaced. Decided right then and there that we should do an oil change even though it was nowhere near time yet, and we were glad we did cause yeah they cheaped out on that too.
Oh god i just remembered i saved this
Moral of the story, everything the dealership says they replaced, keep and eye on it cause you'll have to replace it with something else soon after
Yeah
This is gold btw
Ged, how many old Peugeot do you own?
How do you know it didn't already blow up
I mean there were videos of it cranking but not starting. I don't particularly know that it wasn't blown up, but the reward would have been worth the risk of it being blown up. But even if it were blown up, it would still be worth more than what they were asking for it. I could've parted it out for twice my initial investment if it turned out to have been blown up
I do however admit that at 210,503 miles, there is an overwhelming possibility that it was, indeed, blown up
If it needed a new oil pump then that means they probably ran it for long enough to figure out it didn't have oil pressure
That's actually exactly what the listing said. That it cranked but didn't start, and didn't have any oil pressure.
😬
It's probably dead
And the mileage would make me question the usability of the rest of the drivetrain without a full rebuild
Understandable. Still would've been a really cool base to build off of. We have so many random Ford parts lying around that we probably could have made a working car if we tried. Guess I'll just keep an eye on the 2011 listing for now then
A 2011 would be a pretty early coyote
They're a little weaker than the newer gens but still good engines
3.7 V6 actually, which I prefer to the coyote
Why do you prefer the 3.7
Because it has the same power output rating as the three valve 4.6 V8's from the earlier fifth gens (about ~300HP, with slightly different torque ratings) but the insurance rates are cheaper, and it gets better gas mileage than the 4.6 or the Coyote
That's just based on specs though. Speaking honestly, it's because I don't trust myself with that kind of power output. I've never owned or driven for any extensive period of time, 1. any car with an engine bigger than a 4 cylinder, 2. any car that's rear wheel drive, or 3. has a manual transmission. So going from a dinky little automatic front wheel drive 4cyl to a twice as powerful rear driven manual V8 is a recipe for ending up in one of those mustang crash compilations.
The issue is with the 3.7 is that it just isn't worth it as a car
You can always sandbag in the 5.0 until you're ready for more power
Or if you're worried about fuel economy you could go out and get something with a 1.8t and slap a bigger turbo on it
Little car and 300hp with the same insurance rates
As much as I like mustangs they just aren't good for much besides straight line speed
Unless you mod them heavily
Really, more than anything, if I'm being honest, I only worry about that stuff because that's what my family cares about in a car. I don't really care about horsepower. I don't really care about gas consumption. But my family does, and if they don't approve of whatever I get, then it's just gonna be a bad time all around. I just wanna find something that's broken and fix it. If it were my choice, I'd find an old firebird and bring it back to life. Or a rusted out foxbody. But I just don't live in a place where there are many of those around. Or in a situation where I can make enough money to get ahold of something like that easily. The most unique looking car in my college's student parking lot is a 91 cavalier, everything else is shiny new plastic junk that all looks the same. Old stuff is just hard to come by where I live. Hell, I'd be happy with the 94 Miata sitting in my neighbor's garage that has the clutch burned out of it and has been sitting for a decade. I just wanna fix something
You should only care about what you want in a car if you are getting one for yourself
Everybody has different taste
but quality should come before taste in certain circumstances
Good luck with the firebird tho, mine was rare enough
Yeah only take on as many issues as you are capable of fixing lmao
Wishi took that advice
Maybe it won't crop this one
all of those wheels look awful
Never gotten they hype around them
Tasty
I'd kill for the nissan
There’s a guy near me who has a realllyyyyy well maintained 850csi and it’s for sale I wish I had unlimited money so fucking bad
im buying a torque converter and a rebuild kit for my 42rle. is there a point to a billet rebuild kit?
tc not rebuild kit
I saw this beauty at a car show
I've had quite a time searching. There's this ice cream parlor I frequent that has a 73 firebird sitting in the same parking space out in front of the shop across from it every time I go there. I think it belongs to the owner of that shop, but it never seems to move so I don't know. I applied to work at the ice cream parlor, thinking that if I could clock out of work every day and see that firebird across the street, it would give me the motivation to keep saving up money to get something to fix up. And then they denied my application so
R33 Nismo RHD
Imported from Japan
I'm a jdm fan boy
Also one of my neighbours has the new Gen gt3rs in white with red accents and interior and I cream a little everytime he starts it up
Nice
giggles
creAm

Im pairing the ls with a 4l80
I want to hit it with some nitrous at some point
V8 POWAH
79s look great. I think I'd own a 91 if I could because a neighbor of ours had one growing up, so that year has some memories
Would love to go Hoonicorn style and have twin turbos out the hood
But I'm not cutting up that 43 year old hood
Do it
I was gonna put an lm7 or lq9 in my mustang but I ended up moving towards doing some work on my dakota instead
I don't blame you for not wanting to cut up that hood
It was very poorly taken care of if at all
It sat for 20 years afaik
I'm pretty sure it had the original (extremely worn) brake parts on it
Original front rotors i believe from looking at pictures from the repair manual
Has some indents and text that replacements don't
Bearings on the front were timken
Need to be careful with the rear because the manual specifically says asbestos was the friction material for brakes
And i bet the drums are original too xD
Most that was ever done i think was some oil changes xD
😐 wow
How many miles did it have when you got ahold of it
I'm guessing 123k
It rolls over after 99k
And said 23k, so I'm guessing 123k based on the parts i see and their condition
How long it was sitting, etc
Very cool
You don't even see these cars at car shows
At least i haven't
I don't see any firebirds anywhere really
Same situation around here. Shame really. Like I said, everything I see on a daily basis is either stuff made in the last ten years that's weirdly glossy and all looks the same, or oddly enough, dodge classics. Like, I see old chargers and challengers regularly for seemingly no reason
Same issue with manual transmission cars. I've been watching tutorials and other videos on techniques for driving stick since I was 16, but there isn't a single person in my family, or really in my entire town who even owns a manual transmission car. It's like I've got all the knowledge but none of the experience y'know
Getting going is the part you have to practice
Just shifting while already going is ez
I want my 4runner back together smhhh
I miss my stick shift
Rebuilding the engine in that
Almost 289k there 😂
The other thing you have to get used to is you have to downshift if you want to accelerate
Thats the biggest thing i forget
Am auto just does that for you
I just think manual seems more fun and involved 🤷 but I do think I'll always keep around a front wheel drive automatic just in case, even if I do find something classic to fix up. For snow and stuff
Living in the rust belt sucks
off roading beast 😈
probably don't want to go off that massive cliff
@timber oar that's a nice firebird
Easy, take the original hood, hang it somewhere for decoration, buy a new hood, get it cut up, and then the screamin' chicken painted on it or something. But that would be the best way to do it
Got a new car 🙂
No unfortunately not. But I always drive all-seasons and will get a new set of tires around the summer
It needs new breaks, tires and a radiator for the AC, other than that it's ready to go
Can anyone recommend a good microphone for in the car? Most on amazon look pretty crappy and don't go over 13 euros.
I want a mic which is actually usable and not e-waste by design.
Microphone? What do you mean?
I guess to take calls
But like. The car should have that microphone already?
Or is there a way to change it?
Angry Americans on their way telling you couldn't possibly tow with a car
I am not sure if it has a mic, didn't notice one anyway. I'll check when it gets back from the garage... (It needed some fixes before they could sell it to me, but my previous car kicked the bucket so they sold it as is to me so I had something to drive)
It does has a mic icon on the steering wheel, so it's probs somewhere
It's just not functioning now lol
You don't always trust that a car has all of the features that's shown on the steering wheel.
My guess is that it had a navigation unit in there, but they replaced it probably
Im gonna replace it myself with this thing
More likely that it never had it to begin with.
Trying to get a head unit for the crosstour makes me want to bash my head into a wall
Yeah for some cars it's a pain in the ass
My radio doesn't even have bluetooth, you need to get a bluethooth module for that which costs like 100 euros...
Now I have an aux bluetooth thingy, but I can't skip songs with that
Don't want to use the phone to skip songs
Yeah I understand that
Very big on two hands on the wheel
Putting carplay in my miata was a literal quality of life improvement
I can imagine
I have android, and almost all android auto compatible units only support wired
This one I shared does also have wireless, but it's quite a bit more expensive (340 euros)
But anything below 300 is probably trash
I just added Carplay to my 2015 Cayenne with a mr12volt box, quite happy. I converted the wired carplay to wireless in my Portofino with a Carlinkit 4.0. It's kinda flaky, but overall worth the $90 or whatever it cost. Next up I'm going to swap the head unit in my wife's '06 Miata, still researching that.
Yeah that car defiantly has inbuild mic.
I agree with @fathom socket, it's a huge quality of life improvement. Saved me $100k easy with the Cayenne, because the lack of carplay was really the only thing that made the car feel old. I lost all appetite for replacing it now that it has carplay
Ahh, thats nice to hear
Yeah that looks good and will make the car feel way more modern just check the reviews on that head unit so it works smoothly and isn't super laggy.
It might be the only upgrade in the last 20 years that I genuinely want in a car
Which is great because it’s fairly easy to just jam into most vehicles
Except the got dang 8th gen accord platform apparently
Yeah I did the same to my moms 2015 BMW and it feels way more modern now and it basically has everything that a brand new cars has to so need for her to replace it with something newer for a while.
Reviews were good, thats why I got it
Seriously
It would cost like $50,000 to replace this thing with something comparable and new
In fact, I just got it in the mail 1 minute ago
Car market is out of control
And we can still use the inbuild system to which is nice to. And we got the android auto/carplay box for 100$ used so that was a no brainer for such big improvement.
yeah, that's a great deal
Still can't understand how this 225i xDrive nearly fully loaded was less then a mid spec golf with similer miliage. The only thing that the golf hade over the BMW was inbuild Android auto/carplay. But that was easly fixed for just another 100€ in the BMW.
There are aftermarket head units for the E46. But I am not really too keen on the android/smartpad look.
I had to open the factory unit, install a daughterboard, and re-route some ribbon cables to get the hookup in the Porsche. Took a couple hours of head-scratching, but if I had to do it again I could knock it out in about 30 minutes I think. It's full fiberoptic into the MOST bus, and a solid implementation. Worth the hassle, I think.
This is worst case scenario.
oof, yeah
But you can stuff that looks like this also.
Something like this would look decent enough and would be a big improvement over the inbuild stereo.
I'm just keeping the OEM head unit and getting something that plugs in straight into that to give me bluetooth
How would I upgrade this?
Looks like the classic "biltema" stereo that you find it basically every volvo a-tractor.
Create a custom enclosure with a panel that folds down to hide the aftermarket unit.
They are probably great for what they need to do. But not for me.
Oh, that reminds me of Matt Farah's Lambo, I believe it was.
If it wasn't the Ferrari
My brother hade something like this in all of his E9x and it worked great for him its basically an fm signal to Bluetooth adapter https://protax.se/products/fm-sandare-premium?variant=37591809720519
Dessutom
Hated it, honestly.
Yeah I have heard that Biltema one isn't that great.
It's a problem you get with all FM ones. There are only so many free channels, and the ones that are free are taken up by other people with FM receivers.
If you have AUX port in you car you can get "aux to Bluetooth" adapter that's what my brother hade in all of his BMW.
No AUX.
Maybe its time for you to upgrade to E9x then 🤔
They make cassette to aux adapters
Just got CD with my car. (:
They also make bluetooth to fm transmitters
Which is my personal favorite without doing actual work
I left mine on the default frequency in my saab which had the aerial all the way at the back which meant everytime someone else with it was near me in a city theirs would overpower it
get random ecky tunes blasting in my car
I don't have mine on the default so I don't really have any interference issues
prepared for the hail thats coming
would rather not have to replace the back glass and t-tops
is that a firebird
Ok, I think I found LTT's next project
Welcome back to Instagram. Sign in to check out what your friends, family & interests have been capturing & sharing around the world.
Literal computer (and LAN) on wheels.
ooh that's a nice project firebird what motor?
350 Chevy, mated to a 5speed manual
Yes
People be like:oh yeah I’m a good Parker.
BUT CAN TOU PARK LIKE THESE PEOPEL
That Shi is tight asf
I don't get it. That doesn't look tight at all.
Yeah I think they can still get their doors open
You should see how close the dakota is parked to the mustang and firetruck
im mainly talking ab the guy with the trailer cause literally on the left and right its like a dam type thing so idk how bros trailer didnt end up in the dam
It doesn't look like a particularly small trailer
I wished that I had a tow hook. Because I would get so much use out of a trailer...
So it should be relatively easy to back up with
I wish I had the money to buy the trailer my classmate's dad is looking to sell soon
22' tilt deck
Would be so nice to move cars around with
Why settle for a tow hook
Oh god
I'm wondering what that is rated for.
And if the tongue weight gets added to the load capacity of the vehicle, or what happens.
It looks like a good way to cave your roof in
It's probably fine. Most of those roof racks can take 100 kg or something like that. I imagine that being able to take a bit more.
I do wonder what the weight distribution is like, tho.
Maybe put some foam between the car and the cover
Or a blanket + a piece of wood/plastic on top of that blanket
threw some thick cardboard under it
Ahh, that should do
i just need to cover the windshield
cant find another tarp tho
gonna have to go buy one
Dang. I hate going past the 9 hour mark.
I have 2x 10 hours?
I didn't even realise i did 10 hours of driving. It would end with my work hours tho
And yeah, you have 2x 10 hours you can use, if I remember it right.
As long as the breaks are all good.
I got lost in the middle of fields in my truck
Went where I wasn't supposed to
Because I had to unload there, and I was confused where tf my satnav did take me to
Man
I really want to put an exhaust on the miata, but I desperately do not want that lawn mower trashcan sound
send it
I don’t want a repeat of my rim bending 😭😭
does washboard gravel do anything to the suspension?
i heard driving on it repeatedly can wear it out quick
If you drive slowly, not really
If you rally through that stuff yeah it’s gonna break stuff
Proposal
Don’t make a whole new platform
Just stuff that 3.3 I6 into a miata
I am not responsible enough for that kind of power
Hyundai and Kia will be the new Toyota and Honda, of the late 2020s on
Ironically, Toyota and Honda suffered the most from production issues
Hyundai and Kia seem to have mostly rebounded from production issues
Hyundai and Kia dealers nearby have a lot of cars on the lot as well as customers but Toyota and Honda seem to have less cars
And many of them are marked up
Hyundai and Kia however, don't suffer from markups
