does anyone here know a decent amount about powder coating?
this seemed like the likely channel for this
Got the title for my snowmobile today. Turns out its a 2002 Polaris RMK800, and according to one of my friends that has a lot of experience with snowmobiles, its on the faster end of the 2002 Polaris Snowmobile lineup
Give me some tools, parts, and 2 boxes of brakleen and I'll have that thing driving out of its grave in an hour
Anybody know anything about switchback led’s?
thinking about placing the bulbs in my front turn signals with LED’s and apparently switchback LED’s function as running lights AND turn signals
but idk if it’s just plug and play, or if they look and good or what

So they are plug and play, but for hyper flash you’d need resistors
Check out VLEDs
resistors prevent the hyper flash?
Yeah
Radial Lens
Optical grade polycarbonate lens creates radial 360° pattern for maximum intensity in the housing
Adjustable
Added spacer ring allows for two-position adjustment
Resistors
Many vehicles do not require load resistors but if needed VLR-15 meets load requirements
Optimized Output
Perfect output for daytime running lights and in...
These are complete overkill but I have these in red as brake lights and holy crap
Nuclear bright
Best/least invasive ways to increase car horsepower anyone?
probably a tune
you can do it yourself or have someone custom make one or get a premade one
Any idea on cost to have someone tune a Ford Fusion lol
those are pretty common so I would assume not much
Those look really nice
but $230 😬
Hopefully lol
@deep zealot whats the 0-60 on said 850bhp bimmer
like 4 seconds because it cant find traction
the turbo charger is so big we had to remove the hood
so the car doesnt have a hood
Tbh if it could find grip could be a really good drag car
That makes it not street legal right?
I think its illegal to drive without a bonnet
right now its cold here in the USA for winter season so we parked it until april
Yea cold tyres and no traction arent friends
What yr model is it?
2009
Damn
stock engine except for pistons
How much boost does it run?
yea my 328i runs 18 psi on stock turbo
Damn
it can handle up to 22 but i dont tune it
Nah his isnt a stock turbo
dam
Its a garett
those are nice
how big in mm?
The turbine is not 12cm its like 4
ah
yea
Wait i think its this one http://www.sonicperformance.com.au/465941_dash_5005S/Turbo-TB0262-Suits-Nissan-Patrol-RD28T-2.8L/pd.php
- Turbo TB0262 Suits Nissan Patrol RD28T 2.8L - T25 4 Bolt MountOE No: 1441122J00, 1441122J01, 1441122J02, 1441122J04 - Turbochargers OEM, Nissan
Wait no thats not garett
But yea its got a smol turbo
Could just get switchbacks on Amazon and resistors too
it sounds rad!
wow
but im new here so mind telling me?
what else apart from that turbo in it?
True but I heard even with resistors a lot still hyper flash after like 10 seconds of the signal being on
Almost like the Volvo 740 that my brother have as test car at his job.
Haha, Volvo 740 go brrrrrrr
Yeah its quite fast in a straight line that Golf GTI clubsport is a "track build" with around 500HP.
Manged to score 4l/100km with ski box not sure how.
Just get some quality ones
My front and rear signals are LED and I had to use the 3 ohm resistors from VLEDs
Port/Direct hybrid injection system
upgraded chargepipe and intercooler
Upgraded LPFP for ethanol
Upgraded forged MAHLE motorsport pistons
redone intake manifold
Catless VRSF downpipe/BMS Exhaust
MHD Custom tune
Manual swap from ZF6HP to ZF Manual transmission
Heavy duty single mass flywheel
Upgraded rear axles
I kinda don't trust the built in economy meter
Don't forget VW loaner cars that they give out during winter with shitty all season tires on them. This seat hade 110hp and still barely got any grip with like 15% throttle 😏
I find the all season tires on my 328i perform well in winter
But that’s because xdrive heh
My moms 225I xDrive have proper winter tires on it it does barely spin at all going "full throttle" or TC limits the throttle response quite a bit to be fair but the Seat did the something and could barely find any grip anyways.
thats impressive, my record in a mk3 jetta with a 1.9 TDI is like 4.8
then again I have big injectors and a bigger turbo
my e90 328i xdrive feels great to drive
my mother says i speed, so im gonna try to smoothly accelerate and drive the speed limit
all of which is foreign to a bmw driver
I would like opinions on this 2 seats "Car"
I want it.
Theoretically 100Wh per mile.
Basically the equivalent to 100 mpg as far as I'm concerned. Pie in the sky goal, and frankly I don't need more when it comes to my daily commuter pod
I’m trying to decide between this one, a Model 3 (used) or the Cybertruck.
this isnt it
it looks electric and i hate electric cars

definitely very good for point A to point B if it really is equivalent to 100mpg
but still 2 seats might be a downside since it ain't racing
Go for the model 3 if you dont need a pickup for something the model 3 will be an overall better car in every way. And try to go for that was made in 2021 or newer becuase they have some nuce inprovments over the older ones.
Buying a car that doesn't exist yet is usually a bad bet.
Yeah this is like what we get most of time if we are going on longer trips. Its basically always under 5l/100km.
I barely get less than 6L but well.. i guess it's just not having a speed limit that causes that
quick question : ya'll know chrisfix?
reliable..?
I'm just as confused.
At least it's not American in terms of unreliability. Or Korean.
And not French
No French cars where I live, so I can't speak to their reliability. A friend of mine owned a Peugeot 206 TDI from 2003 for a very long time, though.
french diesels are very good
end up in loads of other brands cars
why I consider getting a volvo v50 estate
American stuff isn't even that unreliable though
It is in areas that experience winter and anything aside from trucks.
didnt realise rust was a reliability metric
first time I drove a diesel car
So painful going on highway speed
Makes me literally sick
Got my snowmobile partially unburied to get some pics
Not in too bad of shape other than the seat cover
My mom has one
sick focus :^)
With the weakest petrol engine
I hate the ford style wheel bearings on them
On the V50?
Haha
no circlip or anything
My mom’s car really needs a bigger engine or another gear
At highway speeds it sits at a stupidly high RPM
the cheap way to do a v50 front wheel bearing
It does rev quite nicely though
Yuuuup
And it doesn’t have cruise control
Keeping a constant speed on the highway is impossible
I do quite like them but I prefer driving my older stuff so if I have a modern "daily" it just sits around
the vibrations from the engine make me nauseous.
It's so loud when the engine is going like 3700 RPM
It’s actually quite a fun car to drive
What shitty diesel engine does 3700 rpm on the highway lol
For diesel engines I’ve found that premium fuel makes a huge difference
Like my dad’s E220 CDI is so much quieter on premium vs normal diesel
And just runs smoother
FIAT too
Haha
no turbo 🗿
but isn't that petrol?
no thats diesel heh
Im fitting a turbodiesel to my 305 at the moment as its slowness was getting slightly annoying
that doesn't sound like diesel, or it's such high RPM I can't make out
its insanely high revs, my cobbled together engine just isnt setup right
fair
I could set it up right orrr just go ahead and put a better engine in
I literally set the injection timing in about 5 seconds as it "sounds fine", vastly underfuelled aswell
but N/A XUDs have been said to behave alot like petrols
when they were released alot of the competition was considered agricultural while these were quite well accepted
I wanna drive a Mazda with a Skyactiv-X engine, really curious how that feels
I'm not a fan of small diesels engines
could be fine for a generator, but not for a work vehicle.
I have taken my 305 on B roads with a few friends which is quite interesting as I have 50hp and shit handling but atleast im comfortable
I went to mechanic in italy with my 307 SW 2.0 16v and they were shocked to see a 2 litre petrol version
like they never seen a petrol engine beside small city cars
must be smart people, 2.0 hdi would have been the choice
I need a cheap 2.0hdi donor car so I can work out smelectrics
want one in my 305 eventually
Tornados on Monday winter storm in Friday
Already slick enough to make my truck slide back down the driveway in park
i wonder how the socal people are coping with the snow
You have different grades of diesel?
You don't?
What's the difference
Off-road diesel is dyed red
Ahh we just call that "red diesel"
Yeah you just don't pay road tax on it
And a lot of people still put it in their trucks
the trick is to carry a jug of ATF with you so if you get pulled over with it you can say it's red because of ATF as an injection cleaner
it's a detergent and won't hurt anything
How do EV owners check the coolant temp of their motor?
they dont
the car knows EV owners dont have the brain capacity to know about motor/coolant temp
so it just ignores it
it’s probably only readable through the odb port
Mazda6 '16 with shit tires. Want to swap them so bad
All Season Tires are meh.
as good as people say this engine is, I don't think it can live in the current reality
why run All Seasons when studless have more grip both on and off ice, and when just swap for summer ones over the summer. It takes like 20 minutes with your average jack and a bolt cross in the driveway.
cheaper and lack of wheel storage would be two big ones
Also really depends on the climate
For here if you'd get 2 sets, you're probably better off with a summer set for summer and all season for winter
Or you can leave for work on winter and then during the day switch to summer as it gets too warm for winter tires
have all seasons on the front of my 305 as I got them for free, unlikely to pay for winter tyres
Aventador is such an old car now.
And the gearbox had always been pretty mech from what I heard.
But man does that engine scream.
Does this count as a car?
I miss my saab
Crusty 306 w
); I was thinking about continental dws06 all season. Would they be useless? Winter is almost over but surely they're better than these cumhoes
Yes that's obviously a Saab
Does this sound okay?
Something wrong?
I heard a high pitched noise from somewhere but it was gone when I started recording
N54 or n52?
sounds like N54/N55 personally
direct injection clatter is real
damn thats some mad clatter
Yeah
u mean an earthquake?
I would bet direct injectors are loud
Just knowing they have to deal with higher pressures
Any Audi drivers here?
B7 A4 quattro here
💀
What engine
I do have a fiat 126 as a project car but a4 is my daily
2.0 tfsi (belt, not chain) thank fuck for that
Nice
Pushing around 280+- hp
Havent dynoed it, dont see a reason to since I just wanted a bit more power from a daily
Don't really hear anything wrong tbh
Yes I have new wheels for next summer
Dont even mention those ugly ass audi oem wheels
Steel ones?
Nope, theyre full aluminum, just looks like steel with some hubcaps
Ugly as hell wheels
A3 had them also, and I think A6 and A8 as well
I had 2.0 tdi
It was a great car
It had good low end torque and you could hear the stock turbo in the cabin
I have every badge removed from mine, the amount of arrogant rwd BMWs that think they can gap me is insane
Especially in winter, I just launch instantly and they get stuck spinning their wheels
I hate rwd cars
Luckily ice isn’t a problem for me in uk
Like man this was yesterday
I mean these older quattros are 40-60 so not that bad
Like I can get this to go sideways with only throttle
I dont get people who buy an audi without quattro
Haven't driven a Quattro
Same
Its so good, like a few weeks ago I helped a brand new x6 that was stuck in like a foot of snow, not even ice underneath
It’s what Audis known for
People here just drive Audi's for the badge (idk why you'd do that) and then just get the base model

Also, Quattro isn't necessary in this climate + often too expensive for what it is (also increases tax on it)
🇳🇱
Ah
Literally any Audi
Finland here
If ur gonna get base model a6+ u might as well get a nice a4 or a3 with Quattro
Exactly
In England we have all most no choice for engines and configs
In a1,a3 all only front wheel drive and up to 35 tfsi/tdi
No 40 tfsi quattro
We get everything you can think of but costs so much
A4 only Quattro option is 40 tdi
How much
Base A6 new is like 60k+
Also here we have 25 tfsi for a1
I don’t know if there is 25 tfsi anywhere else
Which is why I'll likely get a taycan or an i4 m50
The looks are pretty odd yes but they are such good cars
everyone here knows audi is just overpriced rebadged volkswagon
Base spec A1 is amazing
And even VW is overpriced shite
For every VW there's a better care elsewhere within VAG
How much is base price in France
In France? Je ne sais pas
We’re weird
I like LHD
🤔 Here in Sweden you need to get Quattro if you want anything above the base model A4.
It’s how we drive
i think every audi here in the usa comes with quattro standard
We also use miles / miles per hour
Even a3?
Oh
ewwww fwd
I don’t mind fwd
"Quattro premium plus" 🤔
Quattro in a3 is quite the opposite
Front bias
Haldex 70/30 split
Even then it is fwd most of the time
It bearly engages awd anyway
Having fun even in AWD
I can get every trim on the 35 TFSI and 40 TFSI A4 with only FWD
35 -> 40 is +3k, 40 -> 40 Quattro is +3k
And apparently there are 2 40 TFSI's... 204hp and 265hp? Wtf js this naming scheme
That's another 11k tho
Really?
On what cars
They do that naming scheme so that you don’t see 1.0 on the back of every a3
Or 1.5 on the a4
I guess the 2nd 40TFSI is supposed to be 45TFSI but they got it wrong on their website.
Or any other pathetic engine size for the car
I think the latter is supposed to be the 45 TFSI
Yeah on another trim it's 45 TFSI apparently, the configurator is borked
€67,5k 💀
Just have no badge at all
🇳🇱
That’s an option
I know
I drove a q2 30 tfsi and it was weird
I forgot to shift because I could barely hear the engine
Which could be a good or bad thing
And it was also weirdly nippy
The S4 avant starts at €65k in Sweden and apparently its diesel 💀
3.0 v6 tho
First loading up an A4 45 TFSI
Got the torque
So sad, just €99.511,07
Not even 100k
What kind of poor stuff is this
Can't get an S4 apparently here
Probably as they cancelled the diesels
Can only get petrol A4's
A6 same apparently
Quite certain A1 and A3 also
A8 only as TFSIe or S8
🚗
So I think we can't get any diesel Audi anymore
Nearly all A4/A6 here is just the 40TDI model with Quattro since they where all just company cars when they where new.
Audi barely sells A4 and especially A6 nowadays
Only new Audi's I really see are Q4 E-Tron's and A3 30TFSI
Those 2 combined are 46.5% of Audi's sales last year
They sold 5 TT's
The A4 #22 on the best selling cars list in Sweden since jan 2016 and the A6 is at #19 and is best selling Audi overall since jan 2016 until now.
clutch just went on the titanic
whole reason i bought it was to put gaming PC in it and have an on the go office but now she's dead, too much to fix the clutch
niscar
Fun time

Somebody convince me to not make a dumb decision
Probably the sanest decision you'll ever make
What's the worst that could happen

I test drove it
The clutch was extremely grabby like on off kinda thing and it was quick
Not fast
Just quick
It was running at 15 psi
Of boost
Thoughts on vag 1.8t engine
They aren't that good
I have one
It will break down constantly cause it's a 30yr old car
This is my parents’s shitbox
Norway is one of those countries where they sell more EV's than anything else.
nice
I wonder why EVs are so popular in Norway
They're probably getting poorer range since it's so cold there in the winters
Because they got big money.
They understand that they are really green vehicles in the long run if the power from them is green.
So they actually sorted out their charging infrastructure compared to what it looks like for many other countries.
And also it ain't such an impact because most people don't drive at the edge of the range of an ev
Amd Norway got summer as well..
They don't live in perma -35C
And Europe got those hefty petrol taxes
I heard gas in Scandinavia is like $8 a gallon if you do the exchange rate and volume conversion
I need a calculator to know what a gallon is
Gimme a sec
Ehh
Yeah sounds about right for europe
8$ would be on a bad day but happens
Honestly don't know if Norway is worse or better than central europe
Since they do be having oil themselves
Yeah petrol is 7,16$/gallon and diesel is 8,25 currently but the prices has gone down a bit when it was at its peak it was like 8,5$/gallon for and close 10$/gallon for diesel.
Wait
Diesel is more expensive? I thought it was cheaper than petrol since a lot of people in Europe drive small diesels
Depends on country
Ah
When we where in Norway it was a bit cheaper then Swedish prices but not by a lot and someplace it was more expensive then in Sweden it because Norway have different prices depending on location up in the mountains it was more expensive but it Oslo it was cheaper then in Sweden.
Germany used to have like cheaper diesel but you pay more taxes on your car, since well exactly a year diesel became more expensive
Aka diesel only worked if you drive a lot
Well that's just how it is Sweden I guess its more expensive because the diesel cars consume less then equivalent petrol car.
its cheaper if the engine and drive system has no issues. repairs cost more
just buy a pink honda instead
Tinkering with the Jeep this weekend, almost ready for the season to start
It's common practice for you to salt the bed of the truck some for the material not to stick as much when it's cold.
But I feel like I could have skipped that today...
I'm loaded with nothing but salt...
In the UK diesel is always more expensive - but diesels are more fuel efficient, especially if you do a lot of miles (> 12k is a recommendation I heard)
Here in the us its been nearly twice the price of e85
Usually about 9$ a gallon here in Norway
Or about 2,5$ a liter
Oh so it has gone up alot since we where during the summer.
Petrol here in India is 1.17 $ and diesel is 1.1$ per liter
Where as in middle East they pay like half a dollar
At long last Aston’s £2.5 million F1 car for the road has landed. But is it any good? To find out, we bolted Chris Harris into the 1,160bhp skeletal hypercar and sent him around the Bahrain F1 track.

I wish my truck was in there
This is my audi next to my truck
What is it?
1975 chevy c20
You can treat a lot of trucks like cars
I've been daily driving the f350 because of electrical issues with the audi
If I had the money I'd bs driving a newer f150 5.0 with the 10spd
Rip, I doubt diesel is very cheap either
I need to fix the audi
Pretty much what would happen if they started selling small and normal cars in the us
If anyone would buy them tho..
And agreed
Drive around in 1st gear probably too
100% of the time at peak power point
I spend a lot of the time over 20psi of boost

They do sell some smaller cars in the US but as you already know they aren't very popular
Americans be like "Corolla is smol car"
Golf smol car 👀
The us needs that punishment that those 45kmh cars are
Share our suffering on the road
it is 😭
I’d say the Camry is better sized
I mean it could be
but I would imagine with taller people legroom would be a problem
if the driver or passenger is anyways because then the seats are back more
Corolla might not be the best example, it's not the biggest in its class
But 1m80 should definitely be feasible
When I drive the Audi I sit at eye level with the top of the trunk lid on most regular cars
The Corolla is a small car. It's a compact car
A subcompact car would be something like a Smart Car or BMW i3
I wouldn't call it a small car for me a small car is something like a Polo or BMW 1er. The corolla is decent sized car like a golf.
its almost like station wagons are better
Of many the Wagon is better looking than the Hatch lol
Sedan of the Corolla is discontinued in Europe nowadays
Also @brittle totem , a 1er is the same size as a Golf/Corolla/Astra/Focus. All C-segment. Not Polo sized
Bad drivers shouldn't drive. Period.
lol make them drive properly under fear of death
Small cars aren't inherently unsafe
gocarts are
Well lol yes
A kart is also not a car
They are in the united states
Toss a lifted truck behind one and then try to tell me they are safe
You can't see a damn thing because everyone else driving a damn truck, suv, something huge
My firebird is probably worse than the escalade in that chart though
I'm gonna have to get used to driving it when it actually works
Nice and chilly
What is that i like that dashboard
😮
Bmw e46.
Perfect car for the "snowstorm" today 🤔
That's an low milage e46 my moms f45 is already close to 150k km.
Opinions about Ford Fusion Sport?
What year and engine?
My car's hood is soo small I cant even see it from the driver seat , not even with my head touching the roof
Try OSMAnd @fathom socket, it is fully customizable
Yeah in the states, 'compact' refers to Golf/1 series/A class/Focus/Corolla sized hatchbacks, 3 series/C class/civic sized sedans and (to me, slightly hilariously) Tiguan/Rav4/CR-V/X3/GLC sized SUVs are 'compact SUVs'
I think the major source of confusion is that in Europe a Golf is a class C, so calling it a 'compact hatchback' seems bonkers to up, because it's the largest of 3 sizes of hatchback
whereas in the states, that's 'compact' sized, and anything smaller is 'subcompact' but there's no differentiation between a Mini and a smart car -- mostly because most of the class-a city cars we have in Europe (C1/108/Up!/Ka etc) simply don't exist out there
I said to myself "ugh, I should have parked the car in the garage" with the snow storm that we're going to get.
Then I remembered that the car is at the truck parking spot.
The one that tripped me up when I first heard it was when someone called a Kia Telluride or something a 'mid size crossover' and I was like 'What???'
I guess in USA the Volvo V90 is considered small size. I guess?
Here it's a pretty large vehicle.
Which BMW does that compete with, I can't remember?
In the US they have sub compact, compact, midsize and full size
5 series.
Yeah that's considered a midsize
with the 7 series being the 'full size'
The hilarious thing about the classification is that it's on interior room, so by that metric, the enormous bently convertible is considered 'compact' even though it's 5m long
There simply aren't many SUVs sold in the UK that would be considered full size in the states
BMW X7, Mercedes GLS, Range Rover
Those are massive to me.
Yeah they're big
and they are considered full size out there
though the vehicles they compete with are often truly enormous
Suburban and the like.
Especially like the long wheelbase ones (like the Chevy Suburban/Cadillac Escalade)
yeah exactly
Volvo XC90 - A big car.
Compared to the Escalade? Hah, no.
That's the normal wheelbase on the Escalade, too.
Escalade I think only has one wheelbase?
The bonkers thing is that the interior room doesn't even get that much larger
and also you can't see the different in width either
Escalade has a LWB, too.
nutty
But the pickup trucks that people drive as their personal cars out there are like...the size of a flat bed truck
5,766 mm vs 5,382 mm
I think they sell 1 new truck in the US for every 100 people every yeart
That's pretty substantial!
The Chevy Suburban is almost as long as the LWB Escalade. Which is nuts.
Yeah, though I don't think they sell many of those. But the amount of F150s and shit
F150 lightning is almost 6 metres long
a full metre longer than an XC90
What's up with that orange warning for a snowstorm it barely snow at all where I live.
Coming in the afternoon for Stockholm. Apparently.
So... Soon™️, I guess.
According to SMHI it would start at 06:00 and end tomorrow at 15:00 🤔
I had sleet an hour ago
That's the whole warning. No?
Sleet?
Yeah, I think the European system makes more sense but also that can sometimes be confusing, and it isn't based on hard criteria. Especially pReMiUm cars are often a segment higher as it's size would suggest
What do you mean by that?
mixture of snow and rain
Natte Sneeuw
Yeah I guess it has offcially started not it snow quite a lot here and it very windy to.
Like a BMW 3er is D-segment but a Skoda Superb also, which is more the size of a 5er
I kinda think its ridiculous that for sake of pedestrian safety rating an x7 or a f150 is fine
What i wanna know is why Ford elected to put the shift range sensor inside the transmission instead of outside like a sane person would
For the 6spd auto
Some companies choose to follow car regulations for their SUVs. Honda comes to mind with the CR-V. That being said, the move to SUVs being the more popular mode of travel has caused an increase in emissions and a decrease in safety across the board for sure.
Saw one of those Escalades in the a parking lot at Evidensia in Stockholm. He had to make a 50 point turn just to get out of the parking lot, not even joking. 🤣
Yeah considering most people i see driving can barely handle a prius much less an suv
Meanwhile i did my permit logging hours in an f150 lmao
Has a better turning radius than a '96 Chevy Silverado 2500 Extended cab long bed
My dad has a '17 F150, and the Chevy is my grandpas
Yeah, sounds like a standard gas guzzling American luxury SUV
I like my car Cadillac
Suvs just aren't Cadillac's
Its a suburban they slap the Cadillac badge on
Cadillac haven't been Cadillac for a while now.
Yee
Cadillacs and GMCs are literally just rebadged Chevys with slightly different styling and interior
Supercharged 6.2 V8
Not sure which engine it is. But it's a 6.2 liter, supercharged.
Oh, it's the LT4
Same engine as the Corvette Z06, CTS-V, Camaro ZL1 and CT5-V Blackwing
Yeah, but to be fair, the V8 did rumble nicely
I fully blame the dodge
But was it really the Dodges fault though?
Idk I think it was
That looks like a shit show
wait was one of those you?
Share it
I would if I had the sd card I gave it to the lady who got hit
Dodge did not, in fact, dodge
Oh damn, probability wouldn't have done that'd. I'd write down their contact info and send a copy to them later when I got home
Meh I can aford a 30 gb sd if she doesn’t return it
March is still winter
That's what happens when the government doesn't allow bus driver to have proper studded tires because of "environmentally" reasons.
OEF
March is the new December

Who needs seasons anyway
Hasn't it always been like this?
I remember as a kid the busses would get stuck or tip over a lot during the winter
Or well, to be fair, the bus stop that I usually took the bus from had a very sharp turn so I guess there is that as well

Not sure but it has been while since they changed it. But can you really do anything in that kind of bus if you start to skid in it I can imagine that it quite hard to correct if its even possible.
Nah, thing is too heavy for any fun movements

Driver watched 2much 2Fast2Furious (or rather The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift)

Eh
March is alright
If it happens in june imma head out
Idk what winter is I Live in Florida
Imagine its raining alligators, just makes the world look like a mess and its harder to drive/walk around
Just in white
Always some SUV with tinted windows parked right on a junction, which no one should be doing but it happens. Cant see through them at all in a normal car 🗿
compared to modern stuff im fish tank status other than the fat C pillars

Interesting stats here - Electric F150s are being used as trucks way more often than normal F150s
which both makes sense and is hilarious
It makes sense because the atleast 90% of the people that have bought petrol / diesel pickups is for some delusional reason
Right
Those same people probably wouldnt do it for an electric
Whereas the people spending big bucks on an electric pickup seem to be both non-pickup and non-electric people, and they want to use the hell out of the new thing
Not to mention that, size aside, it's amongst the most practical vehicles in the world. 5 people + a big bed + a trunk off of a 'Compact SUV'
plus offroading capability and breathtaking power
EV's really demonstrate how much pickups suck. So anyone opting for that vehicle type if sane would do so only with good reason.
But we needs our pickup truck.
My friend has a like 2005 ranger and its just so shit
Just the tip of the iceberg as far as pickup trucks go in America though
US Rangers aren't the same as the EU/UK ones
There's a guy who parks near my work in an F350, which seems bonkers on UK roads
runs it on biofuel, but still
barely any F350's imported to UK
When I was at uni in the parking lot a few people had imported dodge rams which I found quite funny.
Ranger in the snow is just awful its not 4WD it doesent have a LSD even the shitty Poojie 504 pickup has a LSD.
Unless you have a fat load its just a RWD car in the snow but amplified 5 times
Bad enough in the rain too, great if you like sliding around roundabouts.
Honestly
I don't see any pickups except the hilux
Or if someone wants to fancy
Amarok
9/10 times I see a pickup truck in NL it's an American pick-up truck
I see quite a few L200's but those are discontinued
There are already 2 of those in my town (<1000 inhabitants)
Oh and there is a Hilux
But I guess this isn't representative of the country
few ssangyong pickups around here usually owned by garages
friends unreliable ford being towed
Oh god not the Actyon Sports
What would you do if you had 2 hours at the Bahrain International Circuit and a £3.5 million Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro?
Chris Harris was recently invited to drive the car in Bahrain and put it through its paces. Is this the most revolutionary hypercar of recent times? Capable of lapping 24H Le Mans circuit in 3mins 20seconds!
Apologies to ...
Fun to be had with a LHD car in the UK
this is the truck my dad got a few years ago
traded in a pretty much brand new Silverado, that thing was a piece of shit
like 3 months old
I would like to se a compression between this and the their AMR23 to how big the difference between those two on track.
Not a BMW 🤔
Should probably throw in a liter either way. Or at least half a liter.
Where I can get more genie lamps?
I wish BMW still had dipsticks
Yeah we found a bottle of his old 318i, same spec oil as far as I can see, half full (~0.5L) so we'll add that anyway
instead BMW decided to be dipshits
The electronic dipstick is stupid
As long as it's for German/BMW's. Then you can use pretty much any viscosity. 0-30, 0-40, 5-30, 5-40 being the common ones.
Now imagine if cars came with lifetime oil like automatic trannies come with
Castrol Edge Titanium 0W30, and it says BMW Longlife 04 which is as far as I can see the correct oil
Yupp. That sounds good enough.
My manual transmission is sEaLeD fOr LiFe
If I remember correctly. Then as long as it has the LL04, then you're good.
But geniuenly.
How often you need to change oil in manual gearbox?
Yeah LL04 is the oil I get from the BMW website based on the license plate / model /..., This is that but just from Castrol (which is a good brand)
We changed the one in the Meriva at ~140k km as my dad thought it went kind of hard
Mine hasn't been replaced yet (160k km)
But 150k-200k I'd say? Also depends on your driving I'd say
200k when my gearbox broke
We never do it outside of after replacing shaft seals / driveshafts.
Defective from factory tbh and was never fixed
Peugeots are very prone to seeping through the shaft seals so its important you atleast check they still have oil heh
You pretty much should replace them any time the shaft is removed but alot of people dont
Yeah that's more a design failure than oil problem probably
Just not all of them have the plastic thing that protects the seal when you insert a shaft
high chance you knick the seal with the splines
my 305 has too many oil leaks I cant tell if the gearbox is seeping heh
On early boxes there isnt actually a way to check the level without draining and measuring, later boxes has a level port added. I will be fitting a newer gearbox soon.
I think mine had the correct level
But the 3rd gear synchro is gone and with gear sheered off the teeth
Just replace the gearbox oil whenever you replace your car.
The box I am fitting has like 400k km on it but my current 250k km one likes to eject out of first gear.
But actually. I haven't done mine (yet?).
only the most patient gear changes
The weather was so bad today that I decided to start in second gear most of the time.
would be doing that in the 305, its so short geared
do like 18mph in 5th
new gearbox is long which is one of the main reasons im fitting it
I just did it because it was all just covered in snow. And first gear wouldn't do much either way.
That's how all roads looked like. Or worse.
Not gotten that bad yet. Still time though.
Need to see if my "winter" set (all seasons) will fit on the 306, tyres might be too big for the arches.
made a big difference on the 305 compared to its usual Falken summers
only put them on the front though because I thought it was funny.
This is what my car looked like when I came home to park it.
we usually get like that for a week or two every year but it is a fun period as basically no one has winter tyres
alot of like 2mph crashes
speaking of it, its snowing quite heavily now. Got the 306 with 20 year old chinese tyres ideal.
ggsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsdsd
You good?
This place is going to shit quick lmao
My car is stinking up the garage with it's burning smell brake pads
Ok I admit I was speeding, but please go away smell
I was going 70 in a 45 mph zone🤣
The fact that they say automatic trans fluid will last lifetime is a (insert wan show bleep here) joke, 200,000 miles and I'm sure the previous owner never changed it once. I checked the stick and sure enough brown like oil, it's red now but for as long as the owners manual says "50,000 for heavy use and 100,000 for light use".
OH no, you only run 2-3 times a year, you dont need your legs
There are more gas than diesel F-150s
Did you mean the F-250s and F-350s?
There are diesel f150s?
Yep. They are rare, but they exist. Factory 3.0 V6 Diesel churning out 250hp
Only made for a few years
2018-2021, to be exact
Discontinued because no one wanted a diesel F-150
They should all be diesels really
If you only need one that often, save yourself tens of thousands of dollars, get way better fuel economy, don’t squash pedestrians and get a normal car and hire a truck three times a year
There’s a diesel Chevy Silverado that’s dope. Can tow like 14000 lbs (7 tons or something) and has legit truck style engine braking out of a straight 6 diesel engine
I was just making a point that literally half of them are pretty much never used for truck things
no dude lol.
Fantastic argument, well reasoned
People buy trucks to drive around
Not actually be trucks
Which is fine
I don't care
But trucks are used as luxury passenger vehicles for the most part
yeah how dare we own one vehicle that happens to be a truck
i should also just rent my tools since i only use each one a few times a year
Like i said i don't care if people want to have trucks to just drive to work or whatever
I really don't care
warm clothes are only used in the winter, should just rent clothes too
Let's just not pretend we are actually using trucks to haul stuff that often lmao
I mean I’m coming down on the side of the argument that does care — there are lots of bad things about this being the case — but I don’t think I care very much about it either. And obviously there are people that need a work vehicle, and trucks make a lot of sense, particularly in rural America where lots of job sites are off dirt or gravel roads or whatever
And I do get the one vehicle thing, for sure
I think for most applications though a panel van, especially a 4wd one beats a truck, but that’s a different argument
Im just not interested in telling people what to do
oh no the 5 cars i own are so bad, Im totally driving all 5 at once
Wanna drive a deuce and a half to the grocery store? Idgaf
I know i don't like being told what to do
So i dont do it
Most of the time when I encounter bad drivers it's the people in the tiny cars
Especially nissans, kias, and hyundais
lol you know the demographic that buys those?
My truck almost got clipped today when somebody was merging into my lane and was supposed to yield
They didn't speed up or slow down to get behind me
And obviously didn't even look because my truck is impossible to miss
Nissans fr
some of the worst drivers
low income mostly. and feminists love the kias for some reason. 10 year 100k waranty lol
Nissan drivers are up there with bmw and Mercedes drivers
I nearly got t boned by a Mercedes today
When I drive dumb I make sure that if I wreck I'll only hurt myself
they look cool but the interior quality is still just meh
I still prefer my old stuff
This is the first video compilation of altima drivers being altima drivers. Need I say more? This is a collection of altima drivers doing what they do best caught on camera. If you want a compilation of idiot altima drivers... well then look no further.
According to Melvin (MELden van Verstoringen in Infrastructuur Nederland) logic board replacement on junction Terborgseweg/Bedrijvenweg in Doetinchem. I hope the speed/red light camera will be removed there.
whys it age restricted
I want this combination
KUT020
Am I alone in wishing that Short Circuit does videos on cars that aren't electrified?
Like, no hybrid, no EV, just pure gasoline/diesel
(read, just brrr, no whirrr)
Wrong channel to watch then isn't Short Circuit mainly focused on just new tech things.
And are ICE cars obsolete?
Nope but the channel is focused on new tech and ice car is obsolete becuase it doesn't happends as much tech wise in that "world" compared to ev "world"
Yeah tech-heads seem to hate ICE
Which puts me in a weird spot, a techie who refuses to let go of gasoline/diesel-fed vehicles
For me, the noise is the main thing that keeps me into ICE
Nothing really can beat the melodious growls of the I5 and V10
V10 anything, as well as I5 anything too
Ah, a Volvo 5 in that thing!
I've been thinking about what car I should get when I move out
The car I'm most tempted by is somewhat related to the XR5, @upbeat hatch
V60 T5
I like both ice and ev both are good in their own ways..
It's a wagon, so it's better than a crossover.
Wagon wuuuuu
(although the image is from Germany, not Canada)
I specifically picked the V60 because it's not a crossover, SUV or pickup
Would say why not an audi or bmw but then i saw Canada
The I5 was the main thing that sold me
Fair
Need that mini-V10 roar
Yeah wagons it better the crossover and SUV in every eay if you dont need that extra ground clearance that no ones really needs that buys SUV anyway.
I thought of that too
Pacific Blue Golf Sportwagen on TE37s
Yes, Pacific Blue, like the iPhone.
It probably won't even take many or any modifications
An American company called Innovative Motorsports does it for you, for about $30,000.
Germanys laws probably say no
You would need to get any modifications listed and an angry german man has to look over it and say yes
Imagine a 60 or so horsepower e-motor in one of these
The electric motor also has a nice place to sit in, under the rear cargo area
If you put batteries in it with a 60hp engine you just end up with a vw up van without an angry 3 pot screaming at you on the highway
Well doesn't the cupra leon sportstourer vz come with the same i5 as as the RS3.
I think that was a Cupra Formentor VZ5
Arent all cupras now the 1.6 hybrids?
Or do the spanish just scam us germans
Ok they sell 2.0 now..
But not the angry audi 5 pot
Also yikes 51k for a spanish golf r wagon
Nope ? Their is an 2.0tsi 300hp+ on every Cupra but the born and 390hp 2,5tsi on the Formantor.
67k$ for the base VZ5 formantor in Sweden
2.5 in leon would be fancy i guess
And the new leon looks better than the golf too 👀
Would still get an octavia over both
Uhh what
3 series is kinda boring tho
Everyone and his mom has one
Idk if bmw, id always go for an alpina just to have not a bmw
It's just beeing surrounded by too many
Yeah I like the Cupra leon more then Gold R and its cheaper to and quite a lot cheaper actully i think their like a 10k diffrence between the Leon And the Golf R.
Here in Sweden we only got the wagon version of the M340I/M340D and it starts at 106k AUD i guess it's becuase Swedes loves wagons so much and most family have wagon instead of crossover/SUV here.
Looks like a toy car cause I was upstairs 😭
That was at a history museum I went to
Pretty W
Hey anybody familiar with Toyota Camry s from 2007??
Fuck Amsterdam
020 is referring to the phone number of Amsterdam.
id never really been in a SUV before, got driven around in a new mercedes one going 100mph at points. If I had to guess id have said we were doing 70 heh.
Tronk
that’s….. still a bmw
hi
i'm scared of this gen of camry in particular
unintended acceleration
Man, kei cars are beautiful
I've got the se model and it's been a project so far dude
how is a 2007 camry se a project car???
Why not? Any car can be a project car.
I know, but is it from an accident? Got it for dirt cheap and trying to restore it? AutoZone tacky modding project??? What's the purpose for it to be a project????
I've already dropped like 4k into it with repairs from the previous owner
on what
sunk-cost fallacy? Is that it?
New driveshaft and other repairs. It wasn't really taken care of
should have got an es350 at that point
Should have gotten an F350
I only reserve that kind of money dumping for cars i really like
Which is unfortunately everything i own but it is what it is
Shiii, clean carfax
Yes.
Fun
Drowning in adblue
Drowning in urea.
True box car.
Does the Volvo emblem still point towards the hood latch on those earlier models?
I'm thinking of that slash that goes through the grill.
Pretty sure
That car is taken apart in my parents back yard rn
New gaskets all round the engine
I like my s40 more
Your secret area
Ugh. Letting the truck regen.
Def moment
