Blue is RPM, green is the speed.

winter fable
#

Has to be clutch based system

#

At least

#

I mean like a quad plates

civic spoke
#

I forget what the Agera uses. Might be a beefy single clutch system. That's what it sounds like.

winter fable
#

I mean wouldnt that make it jittery?

#

Its smooth though

#

Thats the thing

civic spoke
#

Double clutch would make it a lot smoother. You can hear how violent the shifts are.

civic spoke
winter fable
#

That is, much smaller then I expect, but its real thick

#

Jesus christ

#

The fins are mad

civic spoke
#

He talks about how you can run the car in neutral since you don't have a clutch.

winter fable
#

So its abit like, a belt cvt Kinda?

#

Something you'd see in a gokart similar principle

#

But the ratios dont changee???

#

Its odd

civic spoke
#

It's like a torque converter in an old car with a slushbox.

#

It's just dialed up to 11.

winter fable

civic spoke
#

Have you heard about their Light Speed transmission? KEKW

winter fable
#

Oh f88k off no way

civic spoke
#

The Koenigsegg Jesko has a 9 speed transmission with 7 clutches.

winter fable
#

This sounds like something a topfueler would have withouth the 9 speed and just have a 3 speed, 1st, for crawling, 2nd for crusing, 3rd. "Lets go batsh*t insane"

civic spoke
#

The Koenigsegg CC850 has the same transmission. But they threw on a manual shifter and a clutch that's computer controlled.

winter fable
#

Im doing incorrect grammer and i have a literal headache

civic spoke
#

brittle totem
civic spoke
#

It does.

#

He was talking about the Regera.

#

All of Koenigsegg's cars are freaks. If you think about it.

#

All of their latest cars have played around with different transmissions a whole bunch.

brittle totem
#

Well they will probably focus on new innovations and technology now to bring something new to every car the releases because the wont make any car that will beat the Jesko Absolut in terms of top speed. So it will be interesting to what the Koenigsegg will introduce in the future.

winter fable
#

Whats next, Dark matter gearbox. lmao

civic spoke
#

The Gemera will be a real big for them.

#

brittle totem
#

And 3 electric motors with a combined output of 1300hp. But the question is will it have roof rails so that you can put a ski box on it.

civic spoke
#

Probably not. Many of those cars just use suction cups roof racks.

#

A problem that Koenigsegg has is that they want to retain their removeable roof.

#

Oh, they had an Agera R with factory roof box. LUL

brittle totem
civic spoke
#

Yeah, I saw that.

#

Have only seen picture of that one. Might have been a one-off.

brittle totem
#

This seems like a very safe thing to do.

civic spoke
#

I take that it was just a one-off thing.

brittle totem

Maybe but I guess some rich skier from Switzerland really wanted a ski box on his Koenigsegg.

I didn't realize the car's transmission also needs to be put into Sport mode for full power and tune activation. And I also didn't realize that when doing so it pops and crackles a lot until I had my friend record a video of it.

Leave it to BMW to soundproof their cabin well enough that you don't even hear the exhaust popping

Question for the chat, especially Canadians: How much would you pay to have your vehicle tested for excessive noise?

timber oar
#

0, i don't need to pay someone to figure out if something sounds like it's going to explode

#

Unless you mean exhaust noise, which would still be 0

slim forum
#

So a ticket in my city for excessive vehicle noise is $262.50

#

that's any noise your vehicle make under normal operation over 85dB

#

the council wants to increase it to $1000 this spring.

timber oar
#

Well i have 2 questions

#

First what city so i can tell people to stay far away from there

#

Second do they really actually care or are they just pretending to care

slim forum
#

Firstly, It's Edmonton. And the $262 ticket is actually already implemented across canada.

timber oar
#

Oh it's Canada i should have guessed lol

slim forum
#

secondly, it's become extremely unlivable near typical city streets in the past couple years, even into the wee hours of the morning

#

we have a lot of modified vehicles and loud motorcycles

timber oar
#

I mean don't get me wrong i find people being loud for no reason annoying as hell

#

But that's way too damn far

#

Because it isn't going to fix anything

#

And im sure theres a way it's going to negatively impact people that it shouldn't

slim forum
#

honestly, I don't see how it would affect disadvantaged people. Unless you really can't afford a repair or replacement after your cat gets stolen.

timber oar
#

Its going to fix your noise problem like the difficulty of owning a firearm in Chicago has fixed the crime problem

#

I'm thinking more along the lines of my muffler falling apart on me while I'm driving and I'm 15 miles from home

slim forum
#

But there's plenty of folks around here with long tube Ls's and Boxers with Hi-power kits that would consider being quieter if it made their pockets $1000 lighter

#

Cars around me are plentiful. It's not surprising for car folks around here to have more than two vehicles.

slim forum
timber oar
#

Thats not always so easy if you don't have the money for it

#

#

Idk how it is there

#

#

# frosty geyser A 2023 Toyota Camry or 2023 Honda Accord

Accords are really nice, but only if its the 2.0T; the 1.5T is just bad. The rest of the car is pretty alright, the Honda interior is pretty decent. The Honda infotainment is really nice.

The Camry is a tad outdated in a lot of ways, but tbh I prefer it. Toyota just seems to do a lot of things better, like the safety tech and overall interior design. I am biased towards Toyota, but I do own a modern Honda; so take that for what you will.

But ultimately I think you should drive both and decide for yourself. The correct choice mainly depends on which is cheapest, best suits your needs, and which you like the best. If neither seem to make sense, just get something a bit older and lightly used; there's no reason to compromise, especially on a car you will be driving a lot. This also applies to the dealership, even if you decide you want one or the other make sure to shop around and see which dealership is best and can give you the best deal.

spiral crescent

it's maybe ok for city driving and in other countries where there's less reliance on a highway system, but the american interstate is punishing, it's fast (85mph travel isn't uncommon) with short ramps... and people travel for a hundred miles or more in a shot pretty often here so

#

a car like that is wholly unfit for this country

stoic ledge

I wouldn't drive the Spring at all, especially not on the highway

Depends on the state they reside in as well. From my experience of living in multiple states, everyone drives differently. I think the worst state I've experienced is Florida, very impatient drivers who drive irrationally to pass you. Also, I'd like to think I am a good US driver... 🥹

Ok fine get rid of "fast lane"

feral reef

plucky flame

Passing lane is what im trying to describe

charred depot

some vehicles cant achieve the speed limit

plucky flame

So pass them

charred depot
#

lane 2 allows you to progress past these vehicles then return to lane 1

plucky flame

Yes

charred depot

you are proposing the opposite

putting the faster vehicles where people are joining and creating a system of undertaking

plucky flame

You shouldnt be having to pass someone all the time

why not

plucky flame

Because if everyone who can goes the speed limit you shouldnt be going faster than anyone.

plucky flame

charred depot
#

I dont know where you live but ive never had any issues merging

feral reef
charred depot
#

heres a evolution on your delusion yako, a long merge "lane" for people to work out their mege

plucky flame
#

I have had issues with it.

charred depot
#

and we can keep lane 2 for passing

plucky flame
#

And the so what is eventually you run out of the merging lane. Which exists here.

feral reef
charred depot
#

well you should merge by the end of the merge lane yes

feral reef
charred depot
#

man wants a entire lane the length of the highway dedicated to cars joining

plucky flame
#

And cars gettting off

#

And cars passing other cars

charred depot
#

so faster vehicles where people are trying to join

#

sound

plucky flame
#

There arent always faster vehicles on every mile of highway.

feral reef
#

It’s really not hard if you just plan your move like 3 seconds in advance

plucky flame

Also they shouldnt be in the passing lane if they are simply cruising. They belong in the other lane.

plucky flame
#

"Faster vehicles"

feral reef
#

I’ve really lost the plot here

plucky flame

I dont understand how this is mind blowing to you but the way it is currently is perfectly fine

#

wraith rivet
#

imagine someone going 90 in the lane you're just speeding up to join onto, it would make it more difficult

charred depot
#

I dunno to make actual use of the lane

plucky flame
#

Why would someone be going 90 in a passing lane

charred depot
#

you literally want a entire lane dedicated to people joining

feral reef
plucky flame
#

And people exiting and people passing

feral reef
plucky flame
#

Passing people =/= staying in the lane

wraith rivet
charred depot
#

often if there is any amount of traffic passing is occuring constantly

#

lane 2 generally at or above the speed limit lane 1 10 or so under

plucky flame
#

You only go in that lane if you want to pass someone exit or youre getting on. Otherwise you stay in the cruising lane and you follow the flow of traffic.

feral reef
#

And trucks in the right most lane keep the speed consistent

#

Which prevents further slowdown

wraith rivet

ohh you mean like stop go stop go stop go which creates bigger gaps than necessary
