Exactly like the moto guzzis, they have the same setup and they're also shaft driven
Yikes. Reminds me of the rebuild on my 2.4L kia engine when the balancing assembly died. Kicked out metal shavings and one got caught under the bearing in cylinder 2 (I think). Chewed it out. We polished the bearing surfaces on the crank a couple thousandths and got a thicker bearing kit, as well as an updated balancing assembly. Runs like new.
Why don't people like the apocalypse
My ceramic wax definitely works

https://www.copart.com/lot/69213112/clean-title-2017-jeep-grand-cher-mi-detroit Something is missing here, I just can't quite wrap my finger around it.....
Why are there just multiple pictures of the ground in that listing ๐
Isn't this just ripoff of the "new" BMW's ?
BMW's is more stupid. Since the revs are on the right, and goes counter-clockwise.
Thinking of changing the warm glow to something else that gives the speedo more contrast.
Not that I really use that speedo as its grossly inaccurate
The warm glow is nice for nighttime driving.
yeah sometimes I struggle to see it at a glance and im like where needle
warm glow is nice though
What about painting the needle a bright white?
maybe, I want to see about sticking a speed controlled motor on the back aswell and ditching the speedo cable
Could always just use white tape if you just want to see what it looks like.
have 5 Peugeot 305 clusters so plenty to expirement on
was maybe going to do a custom cluster as I "need" to add a bunch of gauges and wanted to keep the dash tidy
Idk
๐๐๐
And it was a bit sketcy that Volkswagen has started to give out loaner cars with super sketchy tires. Like this was with maybe 20% throttle and it spun all the way up to around 70km/h.
Spinspinspinspinspin
The brand new pretty expensive all sneesons I got for "free" seem pretty shit in the wet
Speed counter clockwise is also very stupid
I rather have speed the proper way around
And less square
And this is with studded tires to must be the worst one you can find right now on the market.
Who needs studded tires when you can drive through the snow on summer tires and just skid through every junction?
But at least is has nice welcome massage.
The ones they had before going full square screen were great.
I run a staggered setup, winter set front and summer set rear for more fun
I definitely agree but ngl that's with many "screens" imho

Brakey no workey
DAMN you're flying around there
2 braincells bashed together and went haha what if they go straight
should have just went all the way around just incase rather than attempting to slow down
Well you did save it, that's most important
Standard dashcam owners would just honk their horn and do nothing
I have like a moped horn they probably have music that would completely drown it out
Struggling to stop from 30km/h (20mph)
I dont know why but I like to fly about in the 305, which is basically the only car ive ever really cared about and also the least capable and slowest.
Probably because when you brake, you'll never get it up to speed again
Just reverse up an onramp
I braked slightly late + horn reaction because I was just checking my rear blind spot as I just passed a bike, had to see if it was clear
Ngl expected worse ๐
zero tolerence : ) I dont have such a luxury as power steering and never cut it

Ohh yea
to get the a pillar trim off somehow I have to twist this 90 degrees ๐
got it after trying for a long time
Looking for an extra S58B30T0
Thinking of buying this
Fascinating
But then you're slow
Not actually that fast compared to the people that like to drive fast in moderns
Big roundabout with plenty of approach visibility. We have alot of roundabouts in a 70mph limit with walls put up to stop you planning early forcing you to go slower or gamble.
I have an 06' carrera 4 and theyre very nice cars
Hereโs a game- what car is this
Just buy a Porsche then?
Itโs time for an almighty hot hatch dyno test!
Weโve got our hands on four of the most popular hot hatches you can buy in 2023, and weโre about to find out just how accurate the manufacturersโ performance figures are in reality!
So letโs look at the line-up. First up itโs the Volkswagen Golf R, which is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo ...
Soโฆ Ford in F1
Have you done this before? I swapped an electronic VSS transmission in a car with a cable-driven speedo and I haven't cooked up a solution yet. An Arduino or Pi could surely solve it but if there's a ready-made solution I'd go for that.
Id guess the more common solution would be to take the cluster apart and attach the arm to a servo rather than trying to keep the mechanism
But then youd need to digital odometer I guess if you ditch that : /
What a suprise my dads passat has started leaking oil so now it needs to go back to shop again for like a month again.
Das Auto
Yeah and the car is barely more then 2 years old too.
That's the average lifespan of a VAG product yeah
I love Hyundai cars, but these engines are rough.
Hyundai: Modern Premium
They should have fixed their rod bearing manufacturing problems back when they found out about them instead of making engines with defective bearings for 12 years and counting.
At least the customers get free new engines out of it.
Just have the inconvenience of not being able to drive their car until their new engine is installed.
Book time is probably around 10 hours for an engine swap, If i had to guess
I want to get a decent head unit but the install seems scary
I have to modify my dash
I'm looking at this one
tbh i find the brand name units are expensive and lack features
they are generally a bit better in terms of sound quality if that's your jam though
the chinese knock off units are essentially just android tablets
The problem that I have with the super cheap ones is that my interior gets really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter
So I am not sure how reliability would be
And if I had to replace it then the entire dash needs to come out
I would use a regular head unit instead of a touchscreen but I just find the regular ones to be so ugly
I have this unit and itโs great
Doesnt play discs? Throw the whole car away.
W Ferrari, W McLaren, W Haas, W Williams
I have the 2770nex
only major difference iirc is mine has wireless and wired CarPlay
Supra
Does it work pretty well?
Ged floors the throttle: nothing happens
skidz
Are your tires made from plastic?
nah had just driven in some mud
Damn that van took you to gapple bees even though you nearly clipped it when you were turning
plenty of room
The camera doesnt lie
good 1.5-2m there
with all the busy fast moving roundabouts here everyone is sorta used to timing pulling out like that
else you are the person everyone is getting annoyed at heh
Nearly clipped the van? how lol
By nearly clipping it
Shall i call your mom and tell her you forgot how to speak english so she can teach you again?
you can still sorta see tarmac between me and that van from the cameras perspection ie, miles off
heres a good representation of distance saab has a longer snoot than the 305 aswell
saab got a big chin
Saabsburg jaw
Yeah, seemed obvious to me, haha
re painting my brothers bumper, i fixed his rust spots yesterday
Wouldn't it be easier to just take off the bumper?
Nah thatd be too easy
Hey guys Evo or wrx
Looks like some jeep
no
i finished the bumper though
im gonna sand his winch stuff down and remove the rust around the bolt thing
11 years of sun damage to this thing
Oh really?
yeah
the paint needs a lot of work
it has a lot of swirls and scratches
im trying to get it to look brand new but its a slow project
my brother doesn't care about it he just drives it
If it's his and he doesn't care about it, why exactly are you doing all this?
another car obtained, more mordern than id like but was too cheap to pass up.
Phase 2
Was listed at ยฃ450 with an MOT
some old persons car, they had their kids list it for them.
I like the wagons for practicality but in alot of the colours the rear lights are unbearable
rear lights arent too bad in red but still wish they had done better with the rear of the wagons
The round shape is slightly odd in an otherwise fairly straight car
I love how the rear doors of the sedan and the wagon (and I think the 5d?) are the same
id imagine so for cost
it gives me something to work on
Ofcourse, but it matches the design well imho
Im often more motivated working on my friends cars than my own
Its going to be nice having a car with strong heat
I spotted my old grandparents Peugeot last week at the mall, didn't see it since 2011 when they sold it so I was quite surprised to see it again
Some battlescars but overall it's still in decent shape.
Also, that parking job
Fully loaded model as far as I know, yet it still came with steelies
What a time
I need to scrap my Xantia to make some room heh
Need to buy some space savers or something to put on
In these times with high scrap prices someone probably would come and take it without wheels
Likely
Me and a few friends are travelling up north to some old school scrapyard in the middle of nowhere so might get some then, although 3 of us in one car probably wont be much room.

New grille is atrocious
The new style grille is growing on me
What number is it
No shot
Where was this
Theres no way
Maybe the number plates just say 1 of 100
A lot of cars do that instead of actually keeping track of which one it really is
Not sure why they do.
They only made 100 of them
Hold on a minute
Australlia doesnt allow you to drive that thing
On the road
australlia
Thats dumb
Even america allows right hand drive cars
Well at the point youre getting a pagani or bugatti youd be able to get the permit
Was there a koenigsegg
I wanna see one too
Our roads are too shit for them to come close to my state
But cc850
i took my mazda to the mountains when there was no snow on the roads
but there was this one single spot where there was just all ice
the raptor nearly went into us, luckily they got traction at the last second
yikes bruh
๐คค
Yeah the frunk (front trunk) on f150 lighting is huge.
And yet another concept car that will never be produced.
Firtst time seeing a plaid with tent on its roof.
Yeah this is nice.
Havent they figured out that only the gemera can do a 2 door 4 seater
The doors are like 6' tall
You could fit an engine in there
Well that Audi will never be produced anyways. And everyone knows that Koenigsegg engieering cant be beaten.
I dont even know how they do it
They just came in here
And innovated
They were making full carbon rims before they were cool
But honestly. Koenigseggs are probably the best bang for your buck out of any megacar
3.65 for a cc850? Thats a steal
I think that CvK let his engieering to their own thing and dont tell them what to do.
Also he didnt give them any limits
Just an idea
Like with the 1:1
He kinda just said "make it happen" and let them do whatever it took
Well they have strict budget which make it more incredible thst they manged to do this things.
Well they are already sold out so now it probely cost like 5-6 milions to take over someones orders. And apperently the first one that was the show car will be CvK personal cc850 when all of the testing is done.
it probably doesn't have tiny little tv's on the back of the seats though
Well at least it has a screen but the most importent thing is thst it has 1 cold and 1 warm cup holder for each passanger in mega car.
that shit makes the bat mobile look like a fiat
I want to know more about the engine. 2 liter, 3 cylinder.
Freevalve.
Their is not that much public information about it yet maybe they talk more open about it if you do a private factory tour. If I remeber corretly it isen't not that expensive per person to do it. But i'm not sure if they are doing those factory tours right now becuse they are still renovating and building the new prudction line for the gemera. https://youtu.be/E0EI27DIoKg

Messy editing. Didn't like it. tbh
Heyo. The Gemera sounds like a plane engine from the outside at idle.

They have som interviews with CvK to but the recent ones is mostly about EV stuff. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6zd2P0ELPOBFYusDiQ5am2OpCypeYEEG
Apperently the engine in the 1:1 weight less then the gearbox in Bugatti chiron.
Simply use less engine
To be fair on the Bugatti. Those things are pretty dang overbuilt.
In my opinion the Bugatti chiron is just a disappointing car overall like with the recourses that VAG has the couldn't like come up with something new. And not just a heavy car with a huge engine.
That W16 has been around for how long now
Its in all their cars
Meanwhile you can get a hybrid that can do 300 more hp with a 3 cylinder.
Bugatti's only real cultural claim to fame is having an overpowered car that goes fast.
The 2005 ford gt won speed though
It also had an engine out of a truck.
Not the one that goes 310
That wasn't factory?
You can always pay someone large amounts of money to make something really fast. It won't be a Veyron or Chiron.
I honestly wish Bugatti would go back to their roots, and just make absolutely drop dead gorgeous luxury coupes again.
Make a modern day Type 57
It literally had a full carbon fiber body
All hand built to order, each one slightly different from the previous. If we're going to embrace late stage capitalism, go all out. Rolls Royce understands this.
Bring back the duesenberg
sure
Well not for a production car in its stock configuration so not a official record. Didn't the Bugatti Chiron 300+ got disqualified too because the used a pre production car with a stripped interior and a "ECU tune", So officially the Agera RS is still the car with highest official top speed.
for now, my understanding is Bugatti is more or less stepping down from trying to build something faster.
Chiron is a monument to internal combustion.
all the wheels
where jack
I'd say it's as good as it gets
Just pick it up
My friend suggested we drive the front wheel onto one of the wheels and do that
arch is too crusty
Then there's the Divo
The Bugatti Divo, there's that.
Big whoop
Ignoring they remade half the car... sure "just"
Same thing with Koenigsegg apparently the Jesko absolut will be their fastest car and after that the wont be focusing on top speed anymore.
Look if you want your custom built Ford GT, go for it.
Koenigsegg's engineering is a joy to behold.
Its not actually a new car
so?
So why should it be treated as something special
Because it is?
You dont see people shitting themselves when a new toyota 4runner body comes out
So why should a half new supercar be any different
It's a limited production version based on a limited production car that uses unique engine, drivetrain, and styling.
Because a Toyota 4Runner isn't a comparable product to an exotic car?
They literally make it less unique by reusing it over and over
The craftsmanship and passion?
But people did shit themselves over the Corolla GR.
It's just a warmed over Corolla... so y'know... mileage may vary.
Lacking in the bugatti
By what metric are you going on?
^
Bugatti is a pure exercise in passion and flex. All super cars are.
I don't see physical hand made products in your average car....
They dont need to be hand made
It's certainly not efficient. lol
Bugatti is simply becoming the new ferrari and lamborghini. It just took them longer to get there.
Industry standards for speed, luxury, and prestige?
When they stop rereleasing the same chassis with a new body i will eat crow.
The chiron is 6 years old now
7
The Viper remained on the same chassis for 30 years.
Ah yes i love my brand new car that looks nearly identical to the old one
Ignoring all the styling changes and the new chassis, sure same.
You know it
But you don't pay for styling there.
Snail lookin ass cars
You pay for decades of engineering.
In conclusion. Koenigsegg makes the best cars.
fastest, sure.
Yeah but then go for a Koenigsegg instead if you want cutting edge engineering,
You misspelled best chief
Exotic tech, cutting edge. Yes.
At the very end of the day you're still going to find me in an air cooled Porsche if you give me a million dollars.
There is something to be said about driving feel imo.
Pagani makes some neat cars too. But they also use similar engines.
Similiar to who
Theyre different but similar
Pagani's engines are the opposite to anything Koenigsegg makes.
The Chiron looks a lot different to the Veyron. But their profile is mostly the same.
Pagani don't even make their own engines.
right. Mercedes sourced. Great engines, but like... Mercedes isn't known for going the extra mile for their engines anymore.
Bring back the 6.2L V8 dammit.
That makes 4 hp
No, lol
And besides. Look at all of how cars get priced after 20 years. The ones that are desirable are all the ones that give you a special experience.
That's special experience last I heard.
It's a special experience as a passenger, not as a driver.
Their cars aint worth shit after a few years
So don't buy used.
By your logic the best car ever is going to be a Toyota 4Runner or Wrangler.
Cause they're great at value retention.
That's not even close to what I'm saying.
Buy a Koenigsegg then๐ค๐น
It has to have a koenigsegg badge on it
But Koenigsegg also just carries platforms over.
Their first car was in production for something like... 15 years?
Nevermind their styling has been fairly... similar over the years.
At least it was the same car and not rebadges
Yes but that's because they couldn't afford to do it any other way now they are making 3 different cars with 3 different platforms at the same time.
Oh but thats not a supercar so it cant be a fair comparison
I know, but I thought same car/platform bad.
Super truck, call it what you want.
It's a special experience with no practical applications.
Its an overpriced jimny
And a Koenigsegg is just an overpriced Honda Beat.
And both are better than a Koenigsegg.
Does anyone now the revenue and profit numbers for Bugatti ?
I remember that it was said that the Veyron was produced at a loss.
Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same thing with the Chiron.
They wouldn't need to do the same type of R&D for the engine and everything, though.
Carry over drivetrain.
I imagine the R&D costs aren't that high for limited products, and their profit margins are probably insane considering each car is going to be bespoke and loaded down with a few dozen options.
MSRP of a million, but no one who buys these things does it without options.
The Bugatti cars really aren't THAT bespoke, though. Sure they have a lot of high priced options, but it still costs a lot for Bugatti as well.
That's sad then because somehow Koenigsegg managed to have at least a 10% profit margin with barely no help from any other company. Here is the 2021 numbers form Koenigsegg revenue 708 milion sek = 67,2 milion $ Profit 82 milion sek = 7,8 milion $ source: https://www.merinfo.se/foretag/Koenigsegg-Automotive-AB-5565748018/2k1panm-fv1r
haven't been able to find any figures on Bugatti.
Hah. You checked out their company details?
Yeah I wanted to know and its so easy to access this kind of information here.
From what I can find, then they lost a whole lot of money on each Veyron. But they didn't lose money on the Chirons.
cool
Damn. Koenigsegg has over 500 people working there?
Yes they are hiring a lot of people right now they need to make those 350 Gemera somehow and that takes a lot people to do because they are all hand made.
And they have a lot of odd company owned vechles to.
Wouldn't surprise me if many are just leased vehicles, that some of them are able to pick and choose however they wish.
Didn't know that CvK have an Polestar 1.
The Volvo FL's they have surprises me the most.
I guess the need some trucks and Koenigsegg like to try to just use Swedish things if they can.
Well if it works why replace them I guess they are not using them that much anyways.
The one from 2010 is at a bit over 900k km is that much for a 13 year old truck ?
All depends on what kind of a truck it is. But doesn't sound out of the ordinary.
For example, with a dump truck. Then I would consider 60,000 km's a year a fair bit. But that's what I have managed to do.
With a tractor unit, however. Then you could easily do a whole lot more.
@brittle totem
That's a truck that does a lot of driving.
The perfect winter beater right here. And I like the fact that you even can get winter tires for you koenigsegg.
did slight engine bay cleanup, "restored" plastic, and some interior stuff
also removed most of wheel brake dust
gonna wash it soon
also replaced his battery
maybe next week i will redo everything that is black except for the front bumper in attempt to make it look brand new
Rear shocks done
I think that the old ones were still good for another 50k miles though
My top 3 F1 wishes (a bit unrealistic)
- Ferrari wins constructors and drivers championship
- Nico Rosberg returns to F1 as a Mercedes driver. Hamilton and Rosberg rivalry like the good old days
- Hybrid V8 engines that run on 100% sustainable fuel
Dont they run on 100% ethanol already
All my cars go hard
Gentlemen i present to you the pumpkin spice of cars
True
All NPC cars
I like the Camry the best tho
Looks so innocent, but the V6 roars
Literally cosplaying as forza horizon traffic
Wtf is the rattling sound, lol
Ornament on the mirror lol
Man itโs nice
Never actually done it
Here we go
What car?
Only revved it to like 2k
ND MX-5
I wanna get an aftermarket exhaust with a little more character
When I'm driving it feels like most of what I hear is just intake noise
haha nice
When it's around freezing my car is so loud when it idles for the first minute or so
Way louder than normal idle
And really bassy
Cold starts are usually louder
It idles higher too
Like normal idle is IIRC just below 1k
but cold idle might be close to 1.5?
Cold starts are usually 1.2k or 1.5k depending on temp
It's quite funny when you drive off whilst it's still in the idle mode
It just shoot forwards
30 secs at least
I generally do that yeah.
But I also don't rev it above 2k when it's cold
6.8k when it's warm though
So many broken lights.

Nice camera angle
I think your valves are making a clicking noise. Not sure if it's normal
Some shots i got here at the 24h of Daytona here recently
turned out pretty good and somehow got an internship with a team for the summer
People attend LMDH races? Especially in the US with Americans only caring about NASCAR and demolition?
Those are just pulleys
But itโs also misfiring
Im in a motorsports family parents worked in Indycar and Formula 1 for years
Nascar hasn't been good since Tony Stewart left there's no real characters in nascar anymore.
It's not. They are making two one-offs made with their existing V12 chassis.
Ive worked on these cars a ton. Interned at dallara last year looking like I could be heading back for the summer for an internship.
Oh I'm dumb
I went to the corn indy in newton last summer. Good concerts and cool cars
I think my driver's side rear brake caliper is dying ๐ฅฒ
Yeah Dallara are the guys who designs and builds all the cars they're a great company loved working with them.
They put me on the simulator for like 3 days straight while i was there cuz they needed to get some internal testing done and they didn't want to hire a driver and a knew i was good at Sim racing along with the technical stuff for setup work.
BMW: 1
Cat thieves: 0
great and all until
or your hitting it with a hammer
Chrysler did it first
my fiats cat is not stealable either
Easiest ones to steal are the ones off trucks.
Especially lifted ones. You don't need a jack or anything.
I literally saw a BMW catch on fire today
Also I think my focus had catholic converter next to the engine
catholic converter hm
Stupid auto cucumber
Well it's not far off considering how much that part is worshipped by the government
XD
Clean air is nice
not mine
you wanna know why?
Don't have one to begin with?
There have been people stealing mufflers. Thinking that they were cats.
Im getting ready to sell my Mini Cooper to buy another Mini Cooper I have a 2012 and I'm selling mine to get a 2006 JCW
Free straightpipe? Im down
Good thing these trucks sound good straight piped
almost
i semi miss my 200s, the v6 was fun and the stock exhaust didnt actually sound that bad
but i had to fix way too many things and didnt feel like putting more money into it
oh i know those, i saw a really clean one near me
was bagged with some really sick bronze wheels
mine is far from clean but it's not rusty or anything, just wore out from a LOT of miles
Wow, the transaxle went before the belt. That belt must be built different or something
I mean, I own a bunch of Toyotas. They may not be as old, but they are still from Toyota's golden age
I just junked one of those old mtd mowers with a virtually identical engine on it a few months ago
Toy ota
TaCoMa
rip
Tundra more better
Ranger >
Just read my mind
Ranger can't be the best when the Hilux exists
can't even get second place due to the B Series
Didn't get the Hilux here in North America
And the B-series is the Ranger
We practically got the Hilux back in the 80s and early 90s, very similar trucks.
And no, the old B Series were NOT Rangers iirc
The 90's ones were
Yes, but those ones weren't as good
like, don't get me wrong they still solid trucks
They can still take some shit
yeah
its a shame the first gen Tacomas were akin to foldable smart phones
they're pretty OP trucks in every other way
In the 80s American trucks were basically all good
And most were in the early 90s
Mopar killed that with the second gen
Then GM had the 4l60e
Then ford had the 5.4 triton
Triton
Its the early 5.4s that were the chainslappers
The later ones were ok
the tritons all suck
The really late tritons got decent
spark plugs should not be that prone to obliteration
Except for the v10 triton
The V10s straight up don't have the problem with the timing advance
It was never good
the problem with the V10 is it is a v10
Which one, though. There were 2
7-10 mpg when not towing
the 7.3 powerstronk was just superior in every possible way
The magnum v10 wasn't that bad
The 2.3 dual plug the Mazda-made Rangers got were pretty tough too
From what I've heard
The problem is with trucks not made by the big three is that they just don't really compete in the load capacity and towing capacity
I thought the v6 also had the waste spark?
interesting
Still, 8 plugs for an I4
But the problem with the big three's trucks is they have one component that is good and the rest are complete garbage
I'd rather have a marginally less capable truck that is 5x more reliable
S10s and first/second gen dakotas are pretty decent
And when ford ended the triton they got good again
F150s with coyotes are monsters
I doubt the asian trucks are any less capable than the S10s and old Dakotas tbh
And the 3.5/2.7s are pretty good too
Can confirm, my dad has one
Dakotas legally are half ton trucks I believe
unless you consider the Frontier which is just garbage in every way.
I wouldn't doubt it, Considering it got one of the engines the 1500 did
truck sizing makes no sense to me
Fun fact
You could option second gen dakotas with the largest engine made for the ram 1500
There were two different ways to do so
You could get the R/T
Or if you got a crew cab the 5.9 was available
They really aren't that bad
The 318 and 360 use the same block
Cummins?
Or Hemi
I doubt they would be cramming a 5.9 Cummins in a Dakota
Magnum
Figured
It's a fun little truck
And since it's lighter than a 1500 the 46re really doesn't experience as much stress
My buddy's Dakota broke last week lol
Oof lmao
but his family is cursed
My dakota only broke when it got wrecked
Literally every car they have does not have working brakes now lmao
The Prism, brake line embraced death.
The 2nd gen Grand Caravan, brake master leaks internally.
The Dakota, wheel cylinder leaks.
I forget what all they have cause the list goes on
I think the only car with brakes is the 82 Town Car which has a dead alternator
Better than nothing
And maybe the 86 Camaro but it doesn't have an engine
that doesn't count then
yeah
I think he's going to get a 350 from my other buddy with a 3rd gen
He's swapping a built 5.3 into his IROCZ, so doesn't need the 350 anymore lel
I got myself a Bluebus. Time to see it works. Once it gets here.
when does part 2 come out of the perfect gaming mini van?
time to buy motorcycle then ๐
Snow tho
Who says that you can't ride a bike in snow?
Snowmobile
I guess, but the police don't like it when you drive a snowmobile on the roads around here.
Drive in the ditch
Sometimes the ditch is a tree or a building.
Simply ride through buildings and trees
Some kid took out the miata
lmao angry Miata

Doug tearing up at the end
wonder what he paid for it
prolly more than most others would have
i cant remember the name of the british youtuber but he bought adam lz's gt3. im excited to see if hes able to fully repair it
the bump start was funny lol
I think that'll cost less than a new front wheel
true
though i think the project really relied on the engine actually running
i remember cleetus had to get rid of his porsche cause the trans and block were cracked
yea that thing wasn't worth fixing
I'm wondering how that UK guy is gonna find body parts for a 1 of 2 Porsche
hes already found parts in general to be incredibly hard to find
for such a new and rare and expensive car
and now hes gotta worry about paint matching
he might either repaint or wrap the new parts
yea it's nice
yeah it was a paint to order porsche, so i guess only 2 were painted that specific paint color
and there was a couple other things inside like the manual gearbox was not meant to be on that specific model car or something

this is wild
yeah it was posted just slightly up. im def gonna watch it when i get the chance tho
looks like it could use a little bondo tbh
maybe a touch
W japanese car but iโm still buying my german cars

itโs actually pretty funny that the fastest modern japanese car is actually just a german car
except the NSX
but the NSX straight up sucks for itโs price point
which one the new or old one
iโm talking about modern so it would be the newest
i see
i havent really paid too much attention to the new one
so idk, i love the older one tho
the older one is better
the new NSX was designed and engineered in america
very little japanese intervention
makes sense that its probably shit then
I love both japanese and german but i like german more
i grew up in a family of BMWs
im the only true car person in my immediate family, so i never grew up around cars. just kinda liked them as i got older
i am a mechanic
it sucks lol
but you can do as you like
just not what i want
ive done piston rings on some of the mid 2000s oddyseys and pilots, theres a service bulletin for them
knew a guy who worked at a valvoline for a while and quit because he started having eye issues from all the chemicals n shit
i helped replace a motor that blew a piston out the side of it
oh yeah the chemicals are awful
or maybe it was o rieleys or somn
i have to wear a mask when i grind corrosion if i want to keep my lung privilidges
you learn to hate the smell of gasoline when theres a fuel pump recall at a dealership
it still pays well tho, some of our master techs make like 200k
personally im going to school for IT
Question about car servicing
My work car, a 2011 navara D40 was due for a service back on December 1st (I had a different car back then) but wasn't serviced presumably because the service sticker said 'december 1 or 339k km' (car is currently at 334k km).
Is it worth booking a service, or wait for 339k km? Car was in the shop back in August for new clockspring & alternator
Me personally
If i wasnt strapped
I would go at the sooner date
Be it whenever i drove x miles or one the day it says
As in for cash? Since it's a work car company pays for everything
Oh i see
Yeah definitely go then cause why not
Im sure your company would rather pay for a bit more oil than a new engine or what have you
Well because it's a D40 it's got a cracked turbo exhaust, which service centre doesn't wanna fix because of the high cost lol so it's close enough to a new engine
They quoted $5k, when car is valued at around $10k
$5000 for just a replacement turbo??
that is insane
$3400 still sounds fairly high to replace a factory turbo
And I would assume that it is the turbo and not the exhaust manifold because exhaust manifolds are fairly inexpensive
no factory parts are always expensive, that sounds about right. even stock exhausts are like 6k
and they probably mean the exhaust housing for the turbo is cracked, which is usually the failure point since that always goes through a rediculous amount of heat cycles
Isnโt this fucking illegal? This ford F350 is being sold for 11k and it still has the SWAT stuff with it
Like this still has its armor plating on it lol
Why would it be illegal
Itโs a swat vehicle that still has all the stuff that makes it a swat vehicle
And?
Iโd think that would be illegal
I mean?
Are you going to go swatting someones house with that?
The most illegal thing about that is the stickers.
I think thatโs paint
armored cars and trucks and swat vehicles sell every day... Just don't export one - that gets dicey
you can buy a damn APC from the military surplus sale ... just dont export it
Yeah my mechanic sourced an OEM Honda distributor and it was $1100 before labor ๐ not unrealistic somehow
I obv didn't pay for it
but still
Shipping a 10 thousand pound car is usually pretty expensive
heh, just don't let it break down on the side of the road - towing it will make your eyes water lol
Hell shipping 5 tons of anything is pretty expensive
it has no weaponry on it
i own a firetruck that still has all of the original livery and equipment on it and that is legal
also dang that thing sold for cheap
assuming that it is a relatively low mile 7.3 powerstroke
Ey my service meter have started to work now NICE
I'm rich
On an Iveco Stralis? 500-700L I presume
Mac tools guy got here early today, shop just opened 30 min ago lmfao
Oh i tought it whas a car.....
better hide yo wallet lmao
Yeah lmfao, tho i dont usually buy from him anyways
My snap on guy has a muilwaukee kit coming for me this friday
Yeesir
Kit has 1/2 in impact, 3/8 mid torque, 2 batteries, charger, and the bag
Change your oil, boys.
I filled up my truck yesterday
It has a 38 gallon tank
Ouchie
According to my calculator 38 gallons is about 144L
I need to play with my tire pressure
And do less skinny pedal activity
Diesel used to be cheaper than gas here
But it went back up
I paid $3.81/gal after cash back yesterday
I have no idea what the price of diesel is in my area
Damn. Its nearly 5 dollars here.
Damn. That's still basically free
cries in European
Listen european gas prices dont exist
1200 litres
Okay
Kekw over 2k in diesel
I saw a clip of some guy who wanted to fuel up his boat.
Somehow the hull became the fuel tank...
That aint good

Oh God.

that was silly
Awfully goofy of that fella!
He was set for fuel for a year
welp, my car's 3rd ecu fried today
started cutting out on the way back home and right after I pulled into the house it shut off completely
How do you keep frying ecus?
What if it got a little bit thirsty? :)
yeah it works perfect
I use the wired mode most of the time tho because I like how itโs more responsive
when skipping through songs on wireless you can feel the lag within the song changing
(I just realized you replied to my message lol)
At least you got home

Wish I knew
This is what it was doing before it started shutting off completely, I'm assuming it's can bus related but I don't have the tools to test
2006 Dodge Magnum R/T
Yea
It's common for mid 2000s chryslers lol
With what credit lol
Are you sure that you don't have voltage regulation issues
My dash and radio have a voltmeter, it's always between 13.6 and 14.4
That doesn't mean that the voltage at the ecu is correct and not spiking
Could be
To me it sounds like there's some other underlying problem
The ecu location is right underneath the cowl on the passenger side, I believe it's getting water in the wires and harness or inside the module every time it rains
And there's no way to seal it off, it just kinda hangs in the open
I think Chrysler changed the connector design in 2009 so there's only really issues with the 2005 to 2008 models
About how many miles has each ecu lasted?
The original one lasted about 210ish thousand miles, second one lasted about 45,000
Third died in a week
Yeah something is definitely wrong
Did you use dielectric grease when you connected the new ecu?
Yea
Something may be shorting out
It still sounds voltage related to me
Have you brought it to a shop to see that they think?
I replaced the ground cable from the body to the battery and the battery's only a year old
I have not taken it to any local shops, mainly because they're mostly in sketchy parts of town
rip
My dad's friend has a personal shop with a lift and everything, but no scan tool
And that's preoccupied right now by a race truck and a jeep with a grenaded transmission
How much is it?
Hey, at least it isn't a Ram that decided to drop its own transmission
I want to say that launch makes a decent one for $200 or maybe a bit less than that
Can it read other modules and rewrite to them?
I don't have experience with them but I've been told by many people that they're pretty good
Ah
I am not sure about that
I'm used to ford diag
And I have access to ids (which is the ford oem software)
Most of the cheaper scan tools can only read and clear codes
Yea
The most I've done with my Mopars has just been reading codes
And I have second gens
The really high end ones are the ones that can program modules and do all that fancy stuff
So I could literally convert them to a carb setup and msd ignition
I guess it's a good thing my car has a merc trans lol
Yeah the 46re is pretty fragile
It isn't terrible in the dakota but it's pretty bad in the 1500
Yea
Because the Dakota is a half ton
The NAG1 is standard in all R/Ts and SRTs of the time and optional on SXTs
Mercedes 5 speed
Yes but it's mostly better because people don't try to tow much with the dakota
Yeah
Also probably a good thing my s10 doesn't have an auto either
Wasn't really meant to tow more than probably a small tractor
When I went from dailying the dakota to the f350 I didn't realize how bad the dodge trans felt
You don't even feel when the 5r110w shifts most of the time
That Ford quality
Yeah. My mom got a '21 Bronco Sport last year, can barely feel the thing shift at all
Why do 2nd gens have to shift like DCTs tho
The modern 8 speed rams shift like a manual compared to 2nd gens
I'm not a mopar guy, so I couldn't tell you
Because the transmissions are pretty old fashioned
Wow that's cheap!
If I get like 42 liters I'm down around 95-100 euros
That's roughly 117L according to Google
100 euros is about 117 liters for you?
(or 100 dollars, it's about 1:1 atm)
31 gallons
Ahh I see
That's really cheap
Here it's like 2.05-2.20 for a liter of euro 98 (idk what's the equivelant in USA, 98 octal)
I think my last fuel up was 59 liters for โฌ111
Euro 95 went way down in price back to like 1.70, but they added extra ethanol to that fuel, so I cannot use it for my old car
My buddy just joined me haha
F ๐ฆ
Basically $120 for 15.6 US gallons.
I wanna mod my stuff but don't have the money
Depending on what you're looking for. Then it's always best to start off with brakes, tires, and then suspension.
And some actual go-fast driving lessons. How to properly handle a vehicle.
Drill on a spoiler and call it a day ๐
(I know nothing about cars)
I know how to handle a vehicle, just don't got the money for the stuff I wanna do lmao
Take a rally course, and then say that again.
Sell your house. You can live in your car, but you can't race with your house
I don't even have a house yet lmao
Ahh nvm then
It's not about doing actual rally stuff. But learning how the car behaves. Especially while braking, and how to manage your weight.
Especially on loose surface.
Actually really important, might save you money if you ever need it, too (or your life)
I know I have the ability to do well in stuff like that, just not had much practice
Due to my car being broke a lot lol
And it's not exactly cheap or legal to do it where I'm at lol
Don't come to California, electricity is NOT cheap here
Here it was 84 cents per kwh very recently
How much is it there?
BRB gotta clean up the kitchen
I have no idea what the cost for evs are here
thatโs scary
It's better than what the original ecu was doing lmao
๐ณ
The original would just shut of completely with no warning
Is that... The transmission breaking itself?
ECU commiting self dead
Nope, that's the engine cutting out
Whenever it cuts out, you can see how much it slows down the car from me sliding forward in my seat lol
I'm only pointing towards the transmission because of the revs rising. But never seen something like that before.
Yeah if it cuts out a lot within a certain time, the transmission will just keep downshifting even though I'm not on the throttle
One time it did it going through an intersection and dropped to 1st going 40mph
And you don't actually slow down a whole lot during those jolts.
Which is why I'm guessing it could be transmission related.
Ohhh, thats not good for the transmission
It doesn't seem like it but it's a lot of force
That's the differential mount being shot
Its the car saying "Kill me now"
Every time it dings, it's resetting itself completely so it has no stored codes, runtime, or distance driven
Check engine light comes on for a second as well
One time I did manage to pull codes, two of which was a rear wheel speed sensor, unrelated, and a reverse light out, also unrelated and not true
But that was on the 2nd module, this 3rd one never threw a code
Just started doing the same thing as the 2nd module, but a lot faster
I really do feel like it's more than just a bad computer...
It may be something wrong with the connectors or the harness
