I’ll take this one as a bday gift please
Basically all Durch rich supercar owners have those
Sadly no police only, will trigger on all emergency vehicles, even ProRail and Sanquin
Thinking if it’s still worth buying, because of C2000 will shut down in a couple of years
Anyone want a buzz?
Distances aren't that crazy are they?
Theyre not, but it is the area with most beunhazen breaking the law.

Achterhoek, Tukkerije and Veluwe
Sorry for not mentioning Limburg for you
Limburg > all

It would look way better if it was on the side of the bumper not blocking the grill 100% looks like afterthought

Thats in södertälje right ? I seen them quite a few Times driving past there. First time was back in late october. Not sure why they are deliverying so many to Sweden.
Export to Norway?
Yeah. Södertälje.
Maybe but isen't it just easier to delivery them diretcly to norway then.
Both Sweden and Norway is an VW country
🤔
Top selling cars in Sweden 2022.
Didn't know that the xc40 was that popular outside of Sweden. And the Enyaq is overall battery value then the id4 i actually don't understand why people go witch the id4 over the Enyaq. But i guess that it all of the company car drivers that used to driver a Passat that has switched to id4. Because its way cheaper for the company and driver in terms of running cost.
How many of the corsa/Peugeot are the electric ones kr are they split
Most popular "drivetrains/fuel type" for 2022.
Speaking of statistics, vw upped the price of the e up enough to make it not the best selling ev in their lineup in germany
Volvo ❤️
Never seen a Lambo SUV.
🇳🇱 is also a 🅱️olvo country
Not as much as Sweden ofc, but generally yeah. Also, quite a decent amount of EV
Reasons to go for an ID.4, idk. As I've said many times before, for any VW there's a better car elsewhere. Enyaq vs ID.4 is an example of that
Need to do some manual maths for that I think, they only listed like the top 5 (for now), idk if they're in there
e-208 3635 (out of 9669) so 37.5%
The best daily Corvette ever, IMO

The brand for people that really want a Merc/BMW/Audi, but don't want the image that comes with it.
The brand for people who want a nice car without looking like an arse
The brand for people who want a BMW but use turn signals

My brother is the only BMW owner I know who uses it's turnsignals
Although ngl, I often see more BMW drivers use them nowadays
It's also bad for VW Polo, Tesla and EV Kia drivers imho
SUV EVs are the new generation of non blinkers
Old BMWs use their indicators here.
But only the sedans/sports coupés
Every truck or SUV driver, I just assume is garbage at driving.
No, not really. Just don't piss one of us truck guys off
Lol if i see a soccer mom in a large suv then i know shits about to go downhill
Yeah
If you get pissed off and act on your anger on the road, then you're a bad driver tbh
Honestly, yes.
Tell them to get their ass moving and i won't have a reason to do it anymore 😂
Sounds like a you problem.
I mean i can read the speed limit sign just fine, it's not that hard
Then inevitably someone in front of me is doing 15 under that and i have no lane to pass them
You bet I'm getting annoyed
Why don't you just pass them
what if their car is having issues at higher speeds?
or they have balder tires that are slipping in the rain and its raining?
They shouldn't be driving if their tires are bald
No kiddind
When my wheels are full of snow and ice, my car likes to shake at high speeds. It feels almost like a flat, but you still have traction. A lot of people slow down when they have something similar as well.
you havent been in upstate NY have you?
I took tires off a customer's vehicle for storage and they were so bald the metal wire reinforcement inside was starting to fray.
Are you cracking a joke or did you not read what i said, i can't tell over text lol
a lot of people feel unsafe when the vehicle is doing something it normally doesn't do, have some decency and let people drive the speed they want.
Probably someone who thinks they can get another 100,000 out of tires with no tread left
by light baring them you can cause a crash that wouldn't have happened otherwise
They need to have the decency to pull on the shoulder to let me pass?
not really, you need to have the decency of being patient on a single lane road.
Pull on the shoulder
Its a 1 lane road, i can't pass from the other direction
What
Driving on the shoulder would be viewed as more unsafe
yea, indeed, so be patient and drive behind them till you get to a place with more lanes, or an intersection and turn
I've never seen a one lane road outside of the city
Yeah not happening 😂
They exist
its all 1 lane roads here, i normally drive fast, but i have the decency and common sense to slow down for people who are driving slower than I am
More like the Brand for people that want a safe and premium feeling a to b car but don't care about anything else.
I can get another 40k miles on these tires
I drive a 2.3 dual-plug 4-banger Ford pickup. Couldnt go fast if I wanted to
Design is also really a plus, and comfort
BMW and Merc might have the sporty driving... But Audi has no benefit at all
Yeah it would be one thing if 70 percent of the people on that particular road didn't do it
The speed limit increases in a certain spot where it gets straight
youre clearly the exception. They have the right of way if they're infront of you.
And they just ignore that for some reason too
I would say BMW for the sportiness and Mercedes for the luxury.
And when I've just gotten done loading trailers for 9 hours and I'm trying to go home so i can eat something
Merc does not have sporty driving at all
Ifking want people to read the speed limit and do it
Suspension on them are just way too soft and lax
9/10 is AMG Line here which are fairly hard, combined with the RWD I'd put them as "sporty"
If you get a regular trim, sure comfort
speed limit does not mean a speed threshold, they can legally go slower if they feel unsafe on that road at the speed limit, there are roads with speed thresholds.
I know, but even the Mclaren-mercedes from the early 2000s is defined as a very nice sports car with a comfort car suspension that ruins the driving
Heh if you consider the speed limit as a minimum in Germany, mountain roads are instant death
the AMG line, A series, and their sports coupe' do have harder suspension, theyre still not as sporty as a sports car that was designed to be a sports car from the beginning
If I used the speed limit as a minimum today, my car would be in a ditch
I also am usually going above the speed limit, unless there are other drivers infront of me or too many drivers around me
Depends on the road and conditions, highway and country roads sure, in town never
I generally go like 3-4 kph above the speed limit, and 10-15 ish on the highway
Unless I'm on an unfamiliar road, then I generally slow down a bit
Same, except a few 60km/h road which you can drive without problem at 80km/h
on the 60 roads here I do 70-80mph on the straights
really hard to overtake people in the 50hp 305
it sounds like it wants to die but yes
Don't we all
Ah yeah true, usually in those 60 areas I'm closer to 80 than 60

fastest shitbox in the west fife
Despite having 50hp im usually the fastest on onramps
theres no real variance to my acceleration choice, always maximum
You can't quite tell from the video but I was sliding for like 3+- seconds here
My 1.2 can beat that

I slid off the road the other day because I was stopping to put it in 4wd
305 likes to do that as I have winter tyres on the front and summer tyres on the rear
It'll do a lot faster with no speed limiter
I want to see a 7000lbs truck at 130+ mph
gives you tones of confidence but the rear end just wants to go
And this entire corner was a slide
You can hear me laugh and then get scared again
slowed down after that and put on the hazards to warn the cars behind 😂
What a terrible place to overtake
is that a joke
Might be the dashcam warping my perspective, but no
Going uphill without being able to see oncoming traffic?
50 HP of pure SPEED
Proving more power is overrated
have to keep momentum on winding roads heh
50hp, floaty french car
ultimate B road basher
ye i think ill keep my 320 hp
ive driven a turbo S14 and that would be jailbait for me
The difference between ZOAB and and regular asphalt
They covered the entire A92 in high friction surface at one point
mfw people still crash, invested!
I get to use my 83hp to it's fullest every day
My dakota has 250hp

And it's a burnout machine
"But sir, I literally couldn't have been going that fast"
Like a couple years ago some cop accused by dad of going 120kph on an 80 road
My only excuse will be "But officer, the Free Bird solo was on"
He was one of the like 5 cars in a train going 80
50hp is plenty but it is quite embaressing when you are overtaking people on a uphill stretch of motorway and you start losing speed
Music affect my speed too much
Dont have a radio : )
alot of my friends have I am like... despicable
cop radared me too soon
That explains the "95" in a 60
I know someone that thought it was his friend in a volvo egging him on
it was infact a police volvo
Oof
im upgrading to like 120hp (diesel) soon
engine fits fine just problems with the gearbox I want to use
Haha, I got blinded by this MX5 a while back, lights were set up terribly
So I just looked up the license plate
Didn't pass the Dutch equivalent of an MOT 3 years in a row
Each year one of the reasons being the lights
I mean, I didn't get pulled over for this
Also the popups are probably not popped up during the day
Not a car post, but is this the cpu of my scooter? Not really sure what it is
Which website is that
Depends. Is it carbureted or fuel injected?
Or do you know?
Quick Google search says voltage regulator? Or coil
It’s a carbureted 2 stroke
Ok, it shouldn't have a computer
The old ones make for neat 2wd rally cars.
That is either the voltage regulator or HEI ignition box
It’s from 2012 so not that old, but read online that it does have a cpu that restricts the top speed to 65 km/h which I wanna remove
Well that's not that
If I had to guess, that might be on the carb
If you remove it it doesn't run anymore
It does
Just drove it, still drove 65kmh

No weird sounds or smells
Thats the voltage regulator then
Not needed to run, but is needed if you want to keep the battery charged while driving
Where tf would the cpu be then
What scooter is it?
It’s a 2012 Piaggio Vespa lx50 2 stroke with a Sports Exhaust which I installed yesterday and the the variation throttle ring removed so it runs faster
But was surprised that the exhaust didn’t effect top speed one but only acceleration so I searched it up and according to some Forum post from 2011 it’s cpu restricts it to 65kmh
Here is the shop manual for it
As of removing the speed limit, I don't know if thats possible
Isn't there a requirement for scooters to have a speed limit
Doesn't it have something to do with whether or not it's looked at as a motorcycle
I don't remember anymore
At least for the states
The speed limit is the composition of your balls
You wanna go 80 on that thing? Go right ahead.
I only have a licence called AM (germany) which is only for 50ccm and 45kmh, since that thing alright goes 65kmh i wont matter if it goes faster since my licence would be pulled anyways
Oh you are over there
Yeah i like just getting the motorcycle endorsement on my main license and then it doesn't matter what bike i use
I wholeheartedly agree with that xD
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a42541879/mazda-3-3-liter-inline-six-horsepower-torque-specs/ oooo
is this the right channel for dashcams? ltt made a dashcam vid a few months back
the thinkware f70 was in my price range of 75 ish usd but I need a front/rear. any suggestions?
New shoes day
those look cool
I like them
4.3 Vortec is making 0 compression on cyl 1
valves are fine
piston does move
piston rings? not sure.
honestly dont wanna drop the engine quite yet
You'll probably want to spend more for both front and rear visibility.
Yeah she's done
Time to go to the junkyard and get a new one
Is there visible scoring on the cylinder wall?
replaced the head gasket
didnt really check valve seats
but like
even if it were bad valve seats
compression tester read 0, didnt even move a little
Did you overheat it?
iirc, no
but, there was a coolant leak in oil
head gasket was rusty
would a temp sensor read operating temp even with no coolant?
there was still water, but like from what i saw, radiator was empty
when i took it out and all that, it spilled water.
also my oil was a nice thick, peanut butter brown color.
New Flyer XD60
nice plate 👌
These are Cummins powered aren't they? Have some links to ADL here in the UK ^
yea, Cummins L9 according to CPTDB.ca
Ahh! Cummins is pretty popular over here. 4 cylinders more so. The 6 pots are strong engines, sadly nurfed by the gearbox choices.
Portugal?
Huh. I wasn't expecting to see a pair of Rivians.
Where at?
Stockholm. The box vans
oh interesting. Didn't know they were touring those abroad, though you can obviously see why
But most People only have the amg exterior package which only adds sportier looks to the car and dosen't change anything else .
Italy
Does it? Every single AMG Line I select appears to have a different suspension setup as the "standard" model. In Dutch, but "sportonderstel" = sports suspension and Sport Direct Steering speaks for itself
So this is what the AMG package Ads on the non AMG cars in Sweden its and 50 000sek option here so around 4500-5000€ for it AMG Line Interior

@stoic ledge Remember what I said about that one road where they go from 4 lanes to 3? and that causing traffic
Look at this
This is where that happens
Look at it
Causes that huge jam halfway down to Eindhoven 😂
Based on a true story
Whole Brabant being mad 😂
Overtemp? Or what was it?
That one has been nothing but trouble.
It got to 115c and I had to pull over
Can't even go 15 kmh without it overheating
Ouch. How's the coolant level?
It's like on almost max
I think fans no work
And thermostat
Gotta blast the heat on max
I'm starting a job next month in Eindhoven
Although I have to go the other direction from Eindhoven xP
At Philips?
Was going to buy an auto saab 9000 saloon then realised id spend like £400 a month on fuel going to work
Mfw 90s petrol luxobarge guzzle fuel
Engines are bad enough with the manual let alone the slushmatic
Buy a Sensonic
Find one heh
I did but LHD
The horror
It doesn't have a lot of pictures but I think that looks correct
Ill give a full £720 delivered to UK

i give you a 20 piece mcnuggets box
I wish I had quattro
I know you guys also had another engine option too
Besides the 1.8t and 2.8
Friend had a old 1.9 tdi a3 quattro last year for £700
2002
Had to get it aligned like 3 times heh
Silly fancy rear suspension
I still want a 1.9tdi jetta
Oh yeah a lot, starting from a 1.6
1.6
1.8 5v
1.8 5v Turbo
2.4 5v
2.6
2.8
2.8 5v
1.9 DI, 1.9 TDI, 2.5 TDI,
1.6 best, 101hp
big factor on the price of old audis is whether they have a valid MOT or not
rotten audi ejecto rear suspension
Big factor is "what's the condition of the interior so we can export it and roll back the mileage in Eastern Europe"
Perfect mileage rollback material
friend had a cosmetically great 305 but had done like 400k miles
looked great but steering loose, shifter beyond vague
Friend of mine had an A4 1.8 Turbo, the list of defects was longer than insert some very long text
So much that an BMW E66 was an upgrade in reliability
Oh, that traffic accident that happened earlier, that I got stuck in.
Apparently the driver and a passenger bolted from the scene?
Stuck in the accident
Didn't take a picture. But they closed down the freeway for almost an hour.

was in a big one last year then one person went down the hard shoulder
all the sheep were like well if he is doing it so can i!
the amount of joy I had when a police car came flying up behind them
I don't get how people can be so dense when it comes to letting emergency services through.
Yeah my fuel gauge doesn't work, the horn is disconnected because every time the key got turned on it'd start honking, the headlight and windshield washers don't work, and there's a parasitic draw
commuter = brain on standby
They will slowly move to either side. And instantly move back again.
Only for it to happen 5+ more times.
ive had someone go to pass me when moving over for one approaching
what if we could use 100% of the brain
One time a crew of landscapers got mad at me for driving by when they were blocking the road so their truck and trailer could turn around
Mind you
This is a one way street
They are turning around to go the wrong way
I need a rear cam
Huh, everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road.
Thermostat got stuck
Judging that my engine temp went to like 40c when driving normally
I don't remember how it was with the 2021 daf I drove
Nominal temp on this iveco is 80c
Yeah, that sounds more like it.
40 C is what I use as a "Hey, oil's hot enough to drive now"
That's not even a heavy load.
Somewhat annoyingly, my temp gauge starts at like 90c
So it's just cold until it isn't
I don't think I've ever seen it above 100 either
Meanwhile I have seen oil Temps of 120 C in a different truck.
Which was... Something.
Thing would also act up when hauling heavier equipment.
BX came with two lights, cooked and ABSOLUTELY COOKED
if either one came on you probably need a new head gasket
first light for a head gasket second one for a new head
I don't get the point of an e-dipstick
You have to have the engine running just to get a reading
If that's for the oil that sounds like an extremely poor design choice
Snow dayyy
Screw snow, all my homies hate snow
That's hott
I wonder what's my car oil temp
The same truck had a dry dip stick too at one point. Had to add 10 liters of oil
And how much oil does it take?
42 liters
Fill my 305s fuel tank up with that no bother
Why steal diesel from trucks when you can steal their engine oil
Is this volvo version of the id buzz?
No of the Zeekr 009
it takes… 42 liters of oil??
Yeah.
Truck moment
Oh, wait. I just looked up the D13K engine. Apparently it's only 33 liters of oil with the filters.
I wonder which engine had the 42 liter capacity.
no kidding
Damn it. Here's another one that says 36 liters for the same engine.
Is a gas tank oil capacity
@timber oar Engine always have to be off to get an accurate reading.
With a truck, then want it to be at operational temperature, turn it off, and wait 30+ minutes.
Here's another place that says that the D13K engine takes anywhere between 33-37 liters.
Maybe I just got the answer for the D16 engines before with the 40+ liters.
Well yeah if the engine is on the oiling system is running and sloshing that shit all over the place xD
Good idea, Seeing Volvo vans was long on my bucket list
How much does that cost?
The engine? Or an oil change?
doesn’t a normal jug of oil have only like 5 liters? it’s like $38 for one
the oil itself
Truck Service centers just have drums/barrels of oil
I buy 15w40 in bulk heh
$38 for one 5qt jug of oil?
That's overpriced
It's like $17 for a gallon of 15w-40 shell rotella here
Which is the good stuff
My truck takes 15qts
If I remember right an oil change is about $125 for me
need basically every oil seal but new engine going in soon so not going to waste my time
I miss driving volvos
More comfortable to drive, very ergonomic and it was perfect for someone tall
I'm too tall for the iveco.
I drive
Not to mention a gearbox that functions decently.
Ye
Iveco likes to take 5 hours to put it in gear
Often puts higher gear and instantly goes back
But still way better than the man I drove
Some people ride man others drive
And im gonna bury myself for that comment
I miss snow.
Ahem
You know, it might be interesting to set up some sort of "ax murderer" scene with dummies where you know one of these is going to be.
you can look up routes online
my cavalier had 2 brake lines go out at the same time. the front brake line i replaced entirely and doesn't leak, the rear left brake line i tried to patch but gave up on patching and decided to totally replace it. it has a proportioning valve for the rear drums that i've never seen on any other car, it also has 3/16-24 (normal threads) on one end and some huge thread on the other and i can't find anywhere what the threading is.
the old brake line fastener is totally destroyed and has threads that are gone so i can't test it either
it's 7/16-24. some random website that no longer exists said it in the preview section
I'd be surprised if you couldn't see that somewhere in group b tbh
not like group b is still a thing
Damn.
Someone called dashboard warning lights l "emojis"
I got a 23mm Mitsubishi FTO swaybar to put on my Volvo
much fun until you join the camber gang
involuntarily
Xantia im going to scrap soon is fwd and has the handbrake on the front wheels so not much fun I can do with it
Haha, very nice
Haven't had much chance myself yet
Getting my winter tires put on tomorrow though
So if we get some snow that actually stays, I'll be out having fun 😂
Remember that one time when that guy wrapped his porsche around a telephone pole and walked away on martin luther king day
??
Oh dude, i got toyos rn, the only other option i have stock 13inch with massive sidewall from 2015
Dave's Co-Driver Alex Roy - https://youtu.be/nXJY06QYGjo
A history of the Cannonball Run - https://youtu.be/rYv2OJro8Oo
The latest Cannonball Record - https://youtu.be/M6s9o6uIWZw
Dave Maher (IG: @davemaher3104) became the fastest man ever to drive across American in 2006 with co-driver Alex Roy, setting the Cannonball Record. He is a phenomena...
Whoever designed that probably had their head up their ass
Heh in the snow... Just went to a sports gear store with my brother, 3 BMW were sliding around, my brother joined for a few donuts and slides, next 3 diesel hatchbacks arrived and attempted to drift... All BMW's including my brother left
While driving away, the Mk1 Focus diesel crashed in to the kerb
Lol
Nothing wrong with it just due to the way trailing arms work it wouldnt play nice with the hydropneumatic suspension
Ok, that makes more sense
In a way better because when you leave it on for ages and come back its on the driven axle so breaks free easy
Rather than doing a fwd burnout
It's terrifying when you buy a car and have no idea when the last time the parking brake was used
Then you can't decide if you want to pull it and find out

Went out driving this morning with zhe mighty Corsa on summer tires... Really had to take things slow
Luckily everyone was driving rather slowly
The salt gets everywhere
Dutch people experiencing snow for once and doing stupid stuff sounds about right 👀
Tbf also works for like >95% of germans
Was in Belgium tho

they are very eager to dump salt on the road
They missed the road tho
More than half
Like the last 100-150km is up there everything else not so much
expectations too high
I wonder how that happened
Almost impressive. tbh
Then again. Center of gravity becomes a whole lot higher with all of that salt that high up.
Even unloaded, they still tend to have a high center of gravity
Guys I managed to bring a 4.7L engine in an 07 mercedes GL450 from good condition at half life mileage to EOL in of 3 or 4 months of me driving it
Mechanic said it could be the chain
Could have been the case? Sounds fairly early for the chain to give out. Unless it has a bunch of miles on it.
Not the way I drove it
I'm talking like putting into some manual D6 on highway and red lining for a few seconds
I wanted to see if it would shift on its own at that point. It doesn't. Just beeps and warning on dash lol
Then like keeping it way too high rpm immediately after starting at -10C so it would warm my hands faster
That may be what killed it
The people who drove it before me were really gentle with it. I was easily the ax murderer. Ironically, the engine stalled when I was making a gentle right at a stop sign like a normal person
Not supposed to rev an engine while its cold
Lol the first thing i did was put in gas because i thought i was empty. The thing in the fuel pump was stuck so i never knew how much is in tank
You don't need to know how much gas you have
But it was weird because i regularly filled her when should be at least half tank
Yeah reset the mileage count or whatever to zero after filling?
If its still running, it still has gas amiright
Lmao was about to say that's the other indicator you always have. But either way, turned out it's some mechanical break in the engine. I even heard some jamming when it was turning over
On a serious note, I have a feeling it was a combination of your driving style and redlining it as soon as it starts in really cold weather
Well thats the thing I wanted an opinion on:
Since i bought it, it started up perfectly unless it was actually still hot
So like -20C amazingly no problems ever. Starts up like always. But the hotter it was, the more it struggled. Sometimes it would fail and i'd turn on/off ignition basically
Hot as in....
I try to start within an hourish of killing the engine last time
Why do I have a feeling it didn't have any coolant in it
Here's the thing: at the end game I realized that it was slowly improving overall. On top of that, it seemed to correlate with how full tank was. I wrote it off as another fuel pump issue.
We filled coolant properly. It didn't make a difference.
Yeah I mean if it's completely drained of oil where there's not even a bit at the bottom; the other thing is no coolant. Those are probably the fastest ways to a dead engine. I checked both when it died
either way, that motor is likely dead
Yup. One other motor isn't dead though and that's the hydraulic pump lol. I made sure of that.

I mean dude the car itself was pretty bad too. All the power window buttons falling off. Not a single knob left in ac vents (all were dangling inside and preventing the remaining left/right function)
Car was basically destined for the junkyard, then
DVD player under back seat was dead. That small tv had that LCD lines visible so I knew that it also died. It was also dangling so if I'd still had this car, I was thankful that TV bolts off directly
And not like accessed through cutting a hole in carpet and disconnecting a passenger seat.
Airmatic was insanely cool though. Sadly, probably the seals or rings and whatnot were bad. Front passenger side it would randomly go PTSSST and lose all air... but it still held it
Driver side, I couldn't keep it raised from the looks of it. The compressor never turned off. So I'd have a whirring sound
Apparently, that's bad anyways. A mech told me not to keep it running otherwise it dies quickly. But there was something more afoot with that side. That hydraulic was clearly cursed
During christmas my buddy came back from school and I tried to show him. I ran inside to get something and as soon as I came back, the thing insta-pumped itself somehow like a lowrider from 0 to 100
We moved away from it lmao. Does anyone know actually how much potential danger we were in lmao
He was standing right beside that wheel too
Hydraulic? its not something decent like a citroen.
Pneumatic shock
yeah not hydraulic
Idk it had airmatic which is air shocks that get air pumped into them or they release it. In my case, the air didn't always release when even the car wanted it
hydraulic
On the passenger side, it would spit out like every half hour even while driving but it would pump it back up. Somehow it was my side that sagged down at times.
But I had a cool bug not feature when I drove with the airmatic raised. It would literally go into a resonance and start bouncing like a low rider over like 15kph
I'd turn it off when it felt like the bouncing was getting too strong. Never tried just letting it happen. After that winter incident, I realized that it could easily lift the wheels off the ground even. But what on earth even happened there. Like if anyone reading this is into mech eng, is there a logical explanation?
It sounded like it was pumping but nothing was going up. Then, at one point it instantaneously jumped like it had unreal grav boots
Regardless, one way or another, replacing engine in it is not an option. It was the only good part in the car from the looks of it (until I put it into my hyperchamber but it does the opposite). This is assuming the price of replacing engine can even beat the price of the car in the first place
Honestly, I'll ask if the engine was ever rebuilt. If it hasn't, I'll actually feel really bad. It's an 07 engine that never died and I wrecked it in ~3mo.
Looks like the latest Tesla
It would be worse if that were a GM car: same stupid problem but unlike Ford, GM had unlimited funding to fix it
@misty mantle Transit ?
I'm pretty sure that's a Tesla.. that's how they leave the dealership
nope
It's probably just ripped off by hand and left there. The landscape looks like some car auction. There should be no way to cause that short of strapping a rocket booster to it
Copart salvage auction, to be exact
Lmao the license plate on the drivers seat.
It's so far out of place that it seems insignificant whether or not it's the front plate or back 😛
Is that not the plate on the dash?
Actually right wtf all plates in NA look like Ontario ones here. Just different colors
I'm from Eastern Europe. That's probably why it looked like potentially a plate in my mind.
Its a vehicle that you guys don't get
The door mounts on the pillar and wiper arms are reminiscent of F-250 SD circa 2019, but the dash shape on the passenger side isn't quite it to me...
In Russia, this is normal to see outside of scrap yards. Could park your car for a few hours and come back to this.
But also the steering wheel would definitely be gone as well
Correct. It was a 2020 F-250 Super Duty with a 6.7 liter PowerStroke V8 Diesel and 4WD
In Russia, there is literally a scam where they steal your license plates and ask to transfer money if you wanted to 'get it back'. The sum is a thousand or so under the price to replace them
But sometimes, I heard that the scam intensifies when you go to the location and they left just one plate. Then you have to pay the same amount for the second plate. At this point, it's sunken cost without the fallacy lmao
Not allowed to drive with just 1 plate, I'm guessing?
Nope. And now you pay less to get all two back still
Fun Fact: This engine starts surprisingly well in the arctic cold despite being diesel, much more willing than the 2014 Cummins-powered RAM 2500 we had prior. I trusted the Cummins engine, once it was running...
Can gasoline engines even keep running in the arctic?
Yes? Why not?
Although, nothing beats the old 7.3 Liter PowerStroke/IDI V8s. Most indestructible engine ever sold by Ford
That's the best part about diesel, right? Literally doesn't need electricity to start or keep going. Just diesel and air lol
Oh it sure does need electricity to start, but yes arguably once running it could do without, sort of.
The best ones are with a crank I heard. Some mercedes used to have it? Basically, you can just turn the engine yourself and boom... boomboomboomboom
"Sort of" because I suppose the modern one have electronically-driven injection of some sort rather than old-school mechanical injection.
all you need
Diesel engines don't need a spark for combustion though
The diesel is compressed and goes off on its own
Depends on the injection system
If its a mechanical injection pump, just needs electricity to start
If its a HEUI system, it uses the computer and oil pressure
no spark though
Not sure but I heard you didn't need any electricity whatsoever for those crank ones
yes, no spark
If it's mechanical, doesn't it work off the cycles? You do that yourself with the crank
not see what you replied to
Good to know. I can report the old "Lima" 2.3L is a survivor as well. Running this in my pitiful 1995 Ranger, oldest engine I've ever run and it shows no sign of age at all, no weird noises, NOTHING. And the previous owner treated this thing like a freaking slave, drifting it every week.
Well not oldest but highest mileage.
for a brief period my stop solenoid was broken on my old diesel so would have to stall the engine out
They don't need spark but ideally they need to pre-heat the plugs, especially in the cold. The Cummins needed it much more than the Ford though. The Cummins would not start without preheating the plugs, the Ford visibly doesn't like it when I forget to, but it's not as bad...
fun having 2 working plugs 2 dead ones
2 cylinders powering through while the others are discovering combustion billowing out smoke
Yeah it definitely lets you know it's not happy lol. I don't forget anymore.
What even happens in those cases? The sparkless cylinders are still getting turned but there's no combustion?
glow plugs, not spark
not preheated so 2 cylinders arent hot enough to work yet but get going after 20 seconds orso
work as a smoke machine until then
Ah
So as always, if you're beside a concert where the pyrotechnics crew forgot the smoke machines, everybody is in luck except for you
smoked out a entire dual carriageway once with a dead engine running away on its oil
Honestly, the one thing oil is supposed to do is not burn up and the one place it's meant to remain is inside of the engine
And yet it always leaks and burns up. This makes oil changes possible for everybody without a mechanic though. Blessed.
It's quite sad that the only reason why I couldn't secure a mufflers heat shield was clearance; the only people with pits are mechanics
im not a mechanic
And those pits are never not occupied lmao
Do you have a pit or an engine lift of any sort?
yep
True. So you're the guy all your friends go to probably lmao
most stuff can be done with jackstands, lift is just a convenience primarily for welding
Like just to use your pit not long ago I would beg you. Jacks of any kind I wouldn't want to go under there
jack stands
The only remaining option was the airmatic which hopefully won't let air out or repeatedly start lowrider bouncing on my ribcage lol
Like the x shaped ones or the track?
No you're thinking of jacks, jack STANDS are a different thing
They lock up good and don't tip over, they are exactly for when you want to go underneath without getting crushed
They don't provide lift, you need the jack to prop the car up, and the stand to safely keep it there
what you use to lift it is irrelevant
I mean I guess. The whole thing is apparently how 'you should never go under a car with that one certain type of jack'
my BX and Xantia can jack itself up but you wont go under it without stands
no type of jack is really safe
I think it's the one with the long handle you press down and it lowers instantly lol. The danger is you accidentally kicked it
Freaking French cars et leurs sophistication, aaaah, je les aime.
Yeah that's what I mean. For me in general, anything that lifts a car is kind of suboptimal. Why not just drive over a pit?
or just use a jack and put it onto stands
The one place your car doesn't have any more gravitational potential than what it started with 😛
Only jack that is really safe is like my yellow jacking beam which has mechanical locks even if the hydraulic ram fails
The only danger I can think of is if suspension/shocks/wheels somehow fail instantaneously your arm would get crushed if it's between the ground and whatever the car fell on. Still, this would beg the question of what your hand was doing there in the first place
Having the lift / pit is a luxury but certainly not a necessity
Yeah exactly what I was going to say about the ramps: it's insanely powerful hydraulic or pneumatic pressure regardless. So same things can all happen that you get with any jack you pump more or less
With a big hydraulic, in addition to not getting crushed, you also have to survive the explosion
nah you're dizzy
the cable has snapped on my lift and you know what happened
nothing, because it is designed that way
if the seal goes on the yellow hydraulic jacking beam it has a mechanical lock so it wont go down
They have locks along their travel, you can hear them click real loud as you jack it up.When you reach desired height you typically lower it on the closest lock down and you're very safe.
Dude I once blew out a pneumatic door stopper in my old apartment by pulling the door with just one hand. I hated the way it closed slowly so I'd always force it. One day, it popped. If they're designed to pop at the end where that flat recessed part is, it definitely didn't explode as it should
I looked on the other side of the door, it was literally a chip missing from the side of it. I guess luckily I was on the other side. Afterwards, I did discover though how there was not a single piece in sight. All of it was in small bits inside of the cylinder
But that's totally different. Besides, hydraulic jacks have hoses, which should be the weak point by far, and if the gentle humming of the hydraullic pump on my friend's jack is any reference, this thing doesn't have the power to pierce your skin with a hydraulic jet or break steel and turn the pieces into projectiles...
I guess if I was on its side, I'd have to thank the implosion for not getting shrapnel'd.
Actually, for hydraulics, the mention of hoses did remind me of seeing a retired Russian fighter jet in a museum
The first thing I asked was why isn't any of this soldered into position? It was landing gear in the position of not folded
If completely deployed it would probably remain in place despite hydraulic failure. The hydraulics are possibly drained too for insurance purposes.
In the event of a fire in the room.
Ultimately, I was told that it's better not to touch any of it because somebody did in fact once 'fold' the landing gear in. Right before it folded them.
It's a lot of of joints and hydraulics that look like a terminator arm. But if I remember correctly, the idea is that it mechanically locks into positions
I guess one of those locks were actually a hydraulic somehow holding it in place still. Honestly, I'm not even sure if it's a malfunction or error. The landing gear down means it's still moving to some degree
Maybe they didn't put it in 'park'?
Like parking brake engage locks the landing gear fully
In that case I would think hydraulic power would be needed to release the lock, not engage it, but you did mention Russian so...
The only stiff landing gear you can get away with is probably on ultralights and some slightly larger craft which are still 2 seater crop dusters
We replaced landing gear mechanism with ejector so you cannot retreat and you cannot surrender 🛠️
(Replace wrench with sickle obv)
Irl probably it's just called takeoff gear which is why you can eject it once you're in the air
Ironically, I have the same engine in my '97 Ranger
Only noise this engine makes is "I-know-I-can-I-know-I-can-I-know-I-can-" going uphill.
yep
Have you ever towed with it?
I was hoping to tow a Celica on a dolly. Papers say 1101KG.
No, I haven't. Only has the bumper hitch. Hoping to eventually install a proper tow hitch.
Ah I see. I have a proper hitch, have yet to install it though.
It needs electricity
They're very high compression
Too hard to spin by hand
Also diesel gels
Without a compression release
I'm curious about what kind of control dealers have when you want to order a car, does anyone have experience with it? Particularly with GM/Chevy.
They are the judge, jury, and executioner.
Most won't. But hey they have this great truck on the lot. It's a different color, much more expensive, and probably a diesel, but you can drive away in it today for no money down!
I'm planning on getting the highest end SKU of an EV model. They can't convince me otherwise, if they try I'm walking away.
It’s chevy
I guarantee they won’t give a shit
You will not be getting the luxury dealership experience
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
This cable broke and spewed fluid through my engine, is this easily fixable
Coolant overflow line?
Think so, its connected to the radiator
Yeah that's a pretty easy fix
I was wondering… What’s y’all opinion on Salvage/Rebuild cars?
never understood the need for these fancy quick connect hoses
I guess it saves 15 seconds on assembly and they can pay to have the hoses made for like 2p in china
look at them the same way as any other car
I'd look at them a little bit more closely if you're looking at buying one
But otherwise I don't have a problem with them
Insurance might be a bit higher though
‘‘twas quite icy this morning
How much higher do they tend to get?
then I got to the airport and the plane was covered in ice too and I couldn’t fly
I saw a few goood deals on copart and I wanted to see if I should pull the trigger one day

Text is the thumbnail is ehm yeah
He knows what he's doing.
This is one of those weird things I miss from living up north.
Watching the snow plows clearing the entire main road in a single path is amazing.
For real though. Snow plows are so fucking insane
Like we recently had about 3 inches of snow and snow blowers would break from the kind of snow we had but snow plows didnt care
god i hate road gritters
What surprises me is that most seems to be pure dedicated gritters??? That they are built for it, and only that.
Or maybe I'm wrong.
over here they're always just the same lorries with upfits
take a small lorry, fit the equipment on the back and a plough on the front
and thats that
im just pissed because we have salted roads and now my car has corrosion on it for the first time in its life
Stop one seems to be a dedicated gritter. But is it the same with the bottom one?
Or is it a hooklift with gritter equipment?
im not actually sure what dedicated gritter would mean since the fuso is just an uplift fitted
but it can also plow if needed
the bottom one, let me check
I mean dedicated as in the equipment being permanently attached.
oh yeah no the MAN is permanently mounted i believe
these are also dedicated, we have a few of these
Big boy equipment.
but they're barely gritters, just a dropside with a gritter on it
certainly wouldnt fit around the streets here whew
big
Those are really just for high-/freeway use.
ah yeah fair, we have similiar for motorways here
It's just surprising to me that more don't have trucks with hooklifts. At least what it seems.
They appear to be foreign in USA at least.
Though, they just use cable hoists there.
These are the ploughs you see the most often around here.
The south has some fancy ploughs that are towed by trucks like this and swing out for their huge highways.
Like this
feel bad for those cars being driven that close behind the spreaders heh
if I follow them closely they will go faster!
North Dakota DOT sprays brine vs spreading salt
use both here can see the tank
All tridems have the first, and last axle as steering axles.
I never liked the two front axles on trucks. But I can understand it from it with weight distribution.
Friend had to drive one of them around Glasgow (city) said it wasnt the most ideal thing heh
Think they are desperate for drivers, the pay is very good but I guess maybe the hours puts people off.
and its "manual labour" the rest of the year
I'm wondering if I should try and get more into asphalt work.
Have always thought of it before.
well this is the US south in snow
🤔
Average VW driver
was foxy driving?

Best selling car in Europe vs USA, size comparison
You can lay a person behind the Peugeot, and the truck could still be longer.
Not me 😎

Tomorrow will be a fun one. Driving a load to a private customer, I want to say.
I wonder what kind of mileage that they have written for the order.
25 km for the short route. That I'm not allowed to take fully loaded.
41 km for the route I can take.
Also fun that it's down a narrow-ish farmers road.
I can only hope that there's enough room to make a turn at the place.
Just Ferrari things...
Yeah, sounds about right.
At least, for a Crew Cab Short bed F-150 compared to the Peugeot.
Depending on how tall the person is.
I'm 5.9 (In Freedom units) and I barley fit in the bed of my dads F-150 (Its set up exactly like the one in the picture)
Are you 5.9 foot, or are you 5 foot 9 inches?
If it was a long bed, on the other hand, thats a different story
5 feet, 9 inches
So yeah, you'd be able to lay behind the Peugeot then.
Meaning that you + Peugeot wouldn't be longer than the F-150.
USA is better
Not a comparison of better or not.
Just facts.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Im honestly surprised that such a small car is still so well selling
Me need big SUV
So i can feel safe and do my outdoor Lifestyle
Get a Dacia Duster
gg ez
99.99% of the people don't need an SUV (still don't know why they sell that much), cars are getting more expensive and ngl a B-segment is for a lot of people all they need
Funny thing people who feel safer in big cars cause a loop that ends in cars becoming bigger and bigger because big cars are the reason why they feel unsafe on the road
I've been saying the same thing
And then they need a bigger car again to feel safer again
Im comfy and feel safe as fuck with my up exclamation mark because i can just drive somewhere without worrying "oh no its so narrow between those two X7's its frightening"
Haha
Only thing I don't really like that is closest to feeling unsafe is being between to busses in the inner city
It was between 2 lorries a couple of day ago, doesn’t really scare me at all
But thats not oh no im gonna die, thats oh.. im worried about getting swiped because it would be annoying to deal with
But well you can't tell those people who buy SUVs that they're themselves the reason why they feel unsafe in small cars because then youre just wrong
Just get a Kei spec Jimny
More a real SUV than all those cross-over things which can't go over a speedbump in the snow
Fiat Panda 4x4 is better offroad than all these SUVs and crossovers
If I'd accept death by just hitting a bush I'd actually get one
I appreciate not dying by hitting anything too much over my love for that little guy
Thankfully I don't value my life that much
plus none of my family has fucked it yet and I dont intend to be the first heh
I put on my winter tires yesterday
Bit late, but I’m ready for when/if we get more snow
Snow: ends
Dutchies: install winter tires
BX has attracted a ridiculous amount of attention heh, maybe I should keep it.
Or I could swap it for a Reliant Kitten
this is the closest that i can get to comparing my audi to my truck
my truck is quite a bit bigger though

It doesn't have the Bolt.
Funny tiny car.
Looking at some of these cars definitely lets me see why my dad says he's allowed to park in compact spaces with a SUV.
This is why the lightning can power a house for a week.
I remember them talking about that when that last hurrcane hit florida
At least their lights will be on while their house is floating down the street.
my f350 actually has the load capacity to fit many smaller economy cars in its bed
as long as they fit within the dimensions of the bed that is
It would be nice for Texas with the crappy grid.
Did you see the Corvette badges
So THATS what those are
VoV is a new 0w0.
I saw an awful trailer the other day, couldn't take a picture of it.
was it the one i was towing where the turn signals were swapped
No. It was a different kind of stupid.
At this point should I just take the whole car apart?
If you do then you will likely encounter wiring hell
I already am lol
I get to replace the clockspring and entire steering column electrical assembly.
But props to Mazda for the easy cable management
Built in cable conduits under the carpet.
This looks like a "while I'm there" times a thousand.
Large heated garage with nothing else to do all winter...
I wish I could have a project car like that.
I just wish I could afford paint
What is the EV credit like?
You really sure having great sight?🤔
Not me, I made sure everything was clear, also cleared the roof etc
But yeah of you see some people driving around....
Average meriva driver
Especially elderly and women
Snow and ice just show which people should have to redo their licenses in harder conditions
From simple things as getting rid of the snow on the car
To dangerous things of how to driving too fast or having no idea how to deal with ice
Now that's a real rust bucket.
Reminder to everyone to clean their wheel wells
Most important just around the edge of the wheel well, lots of crap gets stuck there
what with? im doing a big clean on my car in the summer and im grabing tools for cleaning
got a pressure washer as well
I usually foam it up in there and just spray it clean
For the actual edge I use a cheap washmit
Like if you've not done it before it will get so black you won't see the color of the washmit anymore
i see, thank you
Avg car in Poland

if this is a parts car theres not alot left to use bud
lmfao
Is it Japanese
its a 1986 ford fiesta
Suprising
lmfao
can tell if thats sarcasm or not but yeah british cars had shitty rustproofing
Anything british sucks
British cars british food
British people
They all suck
All of europe sucks except italy they made olive garden
Asia and north America #1
Ok bud
Based on their discord profile, mix of both

I mean making fun of British people is perfectly acceptable.. that's basically what the whole eu does nowadays
But if it was not serious it was weird and too much 👀
lols
yikers
obv troll is obv
Correction. It WAS a 1986 Ford Fiesta
now its one with the dirt
Could probably put whats left of it into a 5 gallon bucket
I've driven on ice with only minor slippage and I've also seen people spin out going 360° and stopping in the left lane. Thank goodness no one was around for those few seconds they lost control.
I drove on ice the other day and basically slid off the road while my wheels weren't turning
If I had the money 😳😳
