Yeah, my great grandparents bought it new in 78, custom ordered from the factory. I got the order sheet and all paperwork too lol. Anyways I have all the records of it throughout the years and it is a true 45k mile truck. My grandparents actually told me that it was only 45k aswell, since it was kept in storage and only used during the summer to put their boats into and take them out of the lake and also to tow an rv occasionally.

Yeah so if your clutches are worn out and it is a manual then it most likely does not have enough material left to grip whenever it is stressed (for lack of a better word, whenever you hit the gas really quick or are going up a steep incline) but it does have enough material to work under a small load and slowly speed up.

I once had somebody drive my foxbody into a garage for me and the parking brake was on because I like to leave it engaged even though it is an automatic and they left it on and tried to put it into the garage like that. They were revving it up really high and going like 3 mph and now I don't have 4th gear 👍

The tranny was going out anyways because of ford's stupid ass design for the automatic overdrives where the throttle valve bushing would disintegrate and grenade the trans within very few miles, and guess what happened to mine. I changed the fluid and it was just brown and smelled, well I would say like shit but that is an understatement, and the bottom of the trans was full of clutch material. Now I get to rebuild a trans haha

The lug pattern is real easy cause a lot of the old chevys use the same pattern in my experience and I want the offset in the back to be like a few inches farther out. I've put 200 psi in the air shocks and I feel like it would look a lot better with bigger wheels, but I'll just have to mach up what I have and see how I like it

So like heres a pic I found online of a 76 (which is 99% the same as a 77) and the wheels are just really far in

Don't get me wrong, that's how I like them. I love the fat wheels that aren't nearly touching the fender, its just that the rear fender is really wide and the rims are pretty skinny. In person there is like a 6-8 inch gap between the fender and the tire lol

Like I've said a million times, there's nothing inherently wrong with EVs. And the sad fact is, that is the future of consumer transportation. HOWEVER, there is a problem with current EVs, being that pretty much all of them suck. The timelines governments have put in place are unrealistic at the rate battery tech is advancing, which is really the biggest problem as far as practicality. For the most part, charging speed isn't a big deal; charging infrastructure is a problem, but it will only improve. Pretty much every EV also suffers from "hippeeism" as I call it, meaning that they are trying too hard to be hip and edgy super cool "Electric Cars" and not simply electric drivetrain versions of existing cars. Would I buy a Tesla or a Mach E, or even a Hyundai Kona EV? Hell no. If Toyota dropped an electric drivetrain in an existing Corolla would I buy it? Hell yea.

Unfortunately, no matter how much we like gasoline and/or diesel, those fuels are unsustainable; and while prices are artificially high right now, they will rise in price eventually due to availability. For the very long term survivability of ICE engines, alternative fuels need to be developed; which are, sadly, not likely to get much funding due to greater profitability of the EV in the future. The good news is that existing ICE cars will not be banned or crushed or anything like that, we just won't see many (if any) new ones in the future.

I only have one complaint. I don't like the exhaust location on the 4 rotor. I really wish it was in the normal rear location and not burning the passenger side front fender and door.

I tested the sound and it sounds pretty shitty for a $430 stereo

it’s not centered like the stock one was you can like hear a gap between the left and the right

I went in the back seats and it sounded really muffled and trashy

and even at the lowest brightness it’s still blinding me at night

fml spent all that time just to not like it

I'm running an 9" Android 12 headunit I got for $250 on Amazon that was designed for my car (MK6 GTI) and love it but I'm also doing external amps for the corners and another for the sub in the hatch. Its best to get a harness adapter for your car to keep steering wheel controls, canbus (if applicable), and reduce head aches. The open RCAs should not matter but built in amps on head units are usually trash imo. The android unit can run all apps including game pass so I can stream an xbox game in the car with my hotspot running. You know she's a keeper when she gets hyped about the controller in the passenger pocket :-).

my car had the Bose package which included an amp so it’s going through that

I put my ear up to the speakers in the very back under the back windshield and I could barely hear them

is it possible somehow the amp isn’t amplifying at all and the signal is getting weaker the further down it gets? Idk how this could be happening

If gain isn't adjustable on the amp then it might have been something controlled at the stock hu and defaulting into some low level now that it's gone. TBH, even premium stock system hardware gets replaced completely in my cars once I decide to take it to the next level

I'm not well versed in Mazda cars but doing a little searching it seems to be the bane of all that attempted to upgrade while keeping the amp and or speakers.
This post is old but this was the only successful head unit swap on a Mazda 6 with Bose system I could find. Sounds like he went with an Android unit made for the model so it probably interfaces with the amp better.

I'd try to find one running a newer version of Android though so you can be more confident the Bluetooth will work with a newer phone properly. If I can still find Android 12 for my 2012 GTI I'm confident you can find one for that Mazda

I can't speak on carplay though, sorry I'm not an apple user. Gave them up long ago.

Imma be truth with you, my and a lot of smaller cars (that are fairly efficient) have less or the same range as current EVs and its more than fine

And if you drive more than that in one go charging time ain't that bad, taking a break while driving 400-500km isn't a bad idea

A bigger with EVs is that they're misrepresented as eco friendly option while they're up to like a 100k emitting more co2 than an ice

Yes, if we go towards more renewable energy an ev could be less polluting. And also evs take a good bit to charge. Which is g an issue if you drive a bit and plug it in at your work and then to the store, then home and plug it in overnight
