That mx 30 is my aunts car and she leased it as an daily commuter and she only drive like 50-60km every day to and back from work. So that short range isn't a problem for her at all. For longer journeys they use their Golf alltrack but they are planning to buy second ev to replace their golf they are just waiting for car market to go back to "normal" again.

Well you live in Canada right ? and I guess you get similar winters as we get here around Stockholm , Sweden. And the ioniq 5 owners have hade some issues with low charging speeds here in Sweden during winter. But its not as big of deal as it sounds like i guess that most people will stop for around 30-40 mins after driving around 300-400km anyways to take lunch stop or something like that.

Well my dads Passat has an roundabout mode while you are on adaptive cruise control and its probably the most sketchy thing I have ever tried. Like the car randomly deicides the speed sometimes it just just starts to accelerate as hard as possible when you are in middle of the roundabout with a car in front of you. And it also has an sports mode for the adaptive cruise control not sure why.

The GTE is already over it's leasing term, almost 7 years old which for some reason in NL makes it qualify for a higher tax rate to drive it as a personal car... And it's spending more time in the shop for things breaking than actually driving, so I can understand he wants to get rid of it

And then the uncertainty, if you order a new one when will it arrive? But also, as the Business trim isn't available anymore, even one specced like his now would cost him a few K more, and probably with new pricing it would be even more, possibly close to 10k to get the same car he has now, even with the missing options

So waiting 1.5 more years to get a similar car but way more expensive + stress of uncertainty + stress of broken GTE all the time vs having a car with a few less options.... I know what I'd do

It's interesting how pervasive that argument is. If you use that study reuters and volvo's "in 10 years" to be carbon neutral (which is based on a 'greener' source of power) - and the batteries typical lifespan is often 8-12 - does it ever offset?
