It one of my fiends dad he thought that it was a good idea to buy a Tesla but not fix the exterior of their house. And the reason that he bought the tesla is because it was actually cheaper to own a brand new Tesla on his own company than keep driving the Volvo that his owns privately. He is doing around 50000-60000km a year so with a diesel car that is not so optimal.

Well the PSA Prince was horrible, diesel 1.6 16v were horrible, Renault had a very bad period (Laguna II, Mégane II), 1st gen 308/3008/5008/... were heavy and not that reliable, 508 was a flop, 2Tronic gearbox was bad, Citroen C4 had many electrical issues....

Especially 2000-2010 some horrendously bad cars came from France

So it has been 2 years since my dad ordered his Passat so I decided check how much the same car would be in 2022 with the exact same spec. Didn't know that the price difference would be this big. The base Passat with the same engine and AWD is literally more then my dads Passat with all the extras added used to be. So it used to be 35883€ in 2020 and now the same car is 47627€ so more then a 12k difference. Maybe this is the first time his company will make a small "profit" on company car.

I guess that the R business+ is the same as the Executive GT one in Sweden - the 2.0tdi and 4 motion. And the cost for the same extras has gone from 27 996 SEK to 112 100 SEK. So Volkswagen have decided to remove alot of things that used to be standard like you need to pay extra for Executive package witch used to be standard in 2020 on the GT versions. Witch includes a lot of nice things like led matrix Alcantara seats, automatic boot, keyless go, digital cockpit, travel assist, heated rear seat, And remote diesel heater witch is defiantly very good for environment.

In Sweden we used to get a Passat with the same engine as Golf r but down tuned to 272hp called R line edition. When the facelift lunched but they very limited to 2500 cars and Sweden got 500 if I remember correctly. But we still have the GTS version witch is diesel with 240hp.

R-Line Business doesn't get much more over the standard Business... it gets the optional Discover Pro infotainment system, LED Matrix headlights (IQ.Light), comfort seats in the front with the center in alcantara, mobile key and the R-Line exterior package

For engines, we can only choose between the 1.5 TSI (150hp), or 2.0 TDI 150hp (+€5300)

Or the GTE in the GTE Business 😛 Which has basically the same equipment as the R-Line Business+ but without the R-Line package and the comfort seats

Fully equiped the Passat R-Line Business+ 2.0 TDI 150hp is €68852

Its still a German car. They have removed a lot of things that used to be standard and have them as optional extras. Like my dads Passat hade like 28000 SEK of optional extras and if you want the same car today you need to ad 112 000 SEK in extras and the base price is nearly 50000 SEK more to.

Just like with BMW, and other manufacturers. The numbers doesn't really mean anything these days.

The last large displacement V8 from Mercedes is pretty much 10 years ago.

With the current V8's being 4.0 liters.

Even the 63 models from 10+ years ago didn't have a displacement of 6.3 liters. It was 6.2

So complaining about the name doesn't really make sense to me.

C63 S just means that it's the top dog model.

But the numbers doesn't really mean anything. It's just 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. More or less.

BMW pretty much stopped using the numbers meaning the displacement 20 years ago. It's just shows you where it lies within its own lineup.

Why would anyone choose an Golf R over an M140I ? I just don't understand the reason why anyone want to that. The only reason to get a Golf R is for the wagon version if you really need that space or if you use the as a family car. But if you are looking to buy an hatchback the M140i or M135I are so much more fun and in general a better car then Golf.

On export you can get a part of the CO2 emissions tax back, which is usually the only reason it's more expensive. So it probably works out just fine.

You can just search up registration number and se all of the information you want to know about the car for free with a website called car.info

And when the registration number ends with a letter instead of number that means that the car was first registered in Sweden after February 2019

In Sweden you can just search up any plate and literally se anything about the car and you can even se where the owner lives and his/her name. And you can se the old listing for the cars to and if it imported from the US from a scrap yard you can even se the picture's form that listing and get insurance information on what happend when it got totaled. And all of this is public information and free to check.

Yeah it is unusually car to have has company most BMW company cars here is 320D, 520 and the 30e and is most cases with xDrive. And they all have the nearly same equipment BMW probably has a configuration that fits every set company car budgets.

Service is nearly always included in the company lease in Sweden. And my dad company always make sure to get a service deal with usually is 100 000km and 3 years because his company buys the cars from the manufactures so they want to get as much as they can from then when its time to sell it.
