I dont have a job and i dont have friends that hang out with me.
idk
I have absolutely no reason to drive other than the novelty of it
Which will quickly run out when i run low on gas.
get a job
then infinite delicious food and gas and pc bits
I dont need anything
Ive spent my entire life trying to get a head start on life
how
If anything im behind.
I dont need to drive or have a job
tf why
I live in the middle of the country. Theres not a single body of water i need to go into.
hmm what’s a good analogy
Ok lol
have fun being homeless then
eventually you’ll need to leave
dropping into the world with no savings isn’t the brightest
but whatever floats your boat
You act as if i am poor?
are your parents going to pay for everything once you move out?
or do you have savings already?
hey put it back
1 series Beamer?
niceeee
just slightly??

that’s really good
are you planning on doing anything to it or just keeping it stock?
😂
California probably has less strict laws then you which is saying a lot
Tf
why??
Lmao
that’s rough
coilovers are terrible lol
any idea if it smarter now to get a new toyota Camry or used one? I keep seeing used ones at 100k+ miles and like 7 years old. Their 10k cheaper than new but cmon, thats a lot of miles for a 10k discount. any thoughts?
are you in the US? our car market is kinda fucked right now
used to be that cars would lose between 30% (reliable economy cars) to 50% (unreliable luxury cars) of their value within 3 years, 30k miles or so. now? yeah if you can get a good deal on a new car, better to do that than pay a premium for something heavily used. Otoh Camry are kinda expensive for what you're getting unless you plan on keeping them for years and a hundred k miles plus
I’m In the u.s. sucks cuz I would buy a Camry at 21k but refuse to buy from a dealer where the price is 26k
have you thought about a chevy malibu? just about as nice, used ones with 30-50k miles go for well under 20. close to 15
Not just the US, but yeah
100,000 + kms in < 4 years isnt that a lot
Must have been a highway driver though
Oh thats good though, less wear/tear on the car if its true
Oh wow very nice deal!
In terms of specs
Very nice
Dam very nice ! Hope you enjoy it bro!
Does it have Harmon/Kardon? Can't see it in the pictures :)
Says that it does in the text.
Apparently Porsche think camping on top of a 911 is a good idea.
I don't think camping on top of a car is a good idea
especially expensive one
I'm already full of anxiety when sleeping inside car
Specially in USA i have heard that some people have hade their driving test in private place for like 10 mins with no traffic and you only need to do some simple things and then you have your licenses. Witch is joke compared to it how it here in Scandinavia and most parts of Europe.
Have you seen the auto leveling that Rivian has?
https://www.porsche.com/stories/experience/a-classic-porsche-adventure-just-add-tent
They even did made an article about that before releasing their own tent.
I've seen some caravans with auto leveling
That would be so nice.
also I'm fucking pissed because the mechanic almost did nothing in the 5 weeks I had my car left there
Are you serious about that if you miss the smallest things here in Sweden you have instantly failed here in Sweden you need to nearly do a perfect drive to pass.
apparently they are blaming that the head didn't arrive yet
What is the special rules for a license under 18 in USA I have heard that you are not allowed to driver late at night or with friends without parents our someone over 21 with a license are there anymore ?
Here in Sweden it is like requirement to know how to swim or otherwise you basically wont pass elementary school.
How much will the monthly cost each month to run that car ?
My driving test here in Finland was to drive around a small town for like 10min and park once and that was it lol
Same here in Sweden if you want to tune your car you need to do a registration inspection to make it street legal and that will in most cases higher you insurance cost and tax to on your car. But I don't know how strict they are about that because i have seen a lot of heavily tuned cars on the streets and car meets that I don't think have been inspected at all.
Not just US it fucked everywhere specially the EV market or new cars in general.
Why not the 911 is the ultimate daily driver right ?
Seems like Tesla owners loves to sleep in their cars. Their even brands making specially made "beds" for Tesla cars. And they even have a camp mode intergraded in their software. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_3xfMYGzbg

Dr...
I tesla is something that's wayy out of my budget
The insurance alone would have been like 690$ a month for and 8250$ a year for me and the same for my brother to he wanted to buy an 135 or a 140 or a similar 2 series but the insurance is no joke here until you are over 25 years old. And keep in mind that those cars with a very low mileage is like 40000$ in Sweden. And the insurance on the cheapest m2 in Sweden would be like 2200$ a month so you are basically paying the whole car in insurance cost in less then 2 years of ownership.
Same here and the police is always at the car meets chatting with people and things like that and to check so everything goes right. But they doesn't seem to care about most car hasn't hade their inspection for their tunes done.
Yeah it depends on where you are located to if you live in a small village the driver test is easy in Sweden but I live near Stockholm so it is a bit harder here. Hers is a list of everything that I needed to pass to get my licenses. Vehicle and safety check
Driving position
Parking
Reversing around corners.
Unprotected road users
position in Lane
Lane change
roundabout
highway driving
follow traffic signs to a location
vehicle maneuvering
hill start
Street crossing
Signal-controlled crossing
Stationary vehicle/obstacles
Driving towards a location.
Probably similar over here if you go to the capital
that is fairly common at least here in Australia from my experience
However, Australia sees driving as a right not a privilege, i.e. there are a load of really bad drivers, so bad that you wonder how they got their license
Depends on where someone living driving might be basic need and should be a right.
On other hand even if it was granted if one misuse their right it is not always necessary to let them keep it tho.
If we have people jail we of course can have car jail.
Have you seen how they do their driving test in stated like Florida its like 10 minutes at most in like a parking lot and sometimes its even an empty parking lot without trafic or an private road without trafic at all.
yea ive heard. It is ridiculous
They are basically giving out license for "free" over there i would like to se driver that just have passed in US to take a real drivers test and se how it goes then. But in US a license and car is like a most because you can't really walk anywhere if you are not living downtown in a big city.
I wrote about 10. - 12 pages of study and notes on good driving practise and road rules etc and good habbits in terms of driving when i studied for my test
I wanted to make sure that i understood and set my self to be a good driver
Since you mentioned Florida, I recently was there on a vacation and some of the drivers had me questioning if they even had a license at all
I did most of my theory thing with an really good app on my phone its basically the whole driving theory thing but in a app form. And I passed driving theory and driving test first try to.
Yeah but you cant rally blame the drivers to its more like that they need re do their whole driving ed thingy to make it way harder and much higher standards to pass the test. Maybe do the test in real traffic and not on private roads.
Yea nice nice!
I was shocked when I saw our theroy lesson materials.
I was shocked by how simple that was, and there are people keep failing that.
That was like just a few dozens pages booklet, few rules each pages and with lot of graphics.
At our theory test we have 70 question's 5 of them is test questions that they will maybe have in the test in the future so they don't count. And you their is 65 real question and you need to answer right on 52 of them to pass.
Blue round = Regulatory,
Red and white round = Forbidden
Red and white triangle = Warning
Brown = Touristical
this is Australia's practise tests: https://practicetest.rms.nsw.gov.au/pages/practice-tests?init=true
New south wales within aus*
We have few dozen (can't remember, should be around 50-60) multiple choice, and you only need like 70or80%
we have 45 in our test, 40 need to be 100% correct, and a section of around 5 you can have 1-2 wrong depending on the situation
And people can fail that.
its something you finish in around 15mins
and on your 'L's', your learner licences (min 16yrs, and hold for 1 calendar yr), you have to log 120 hours of driving, of which 20 of those hrs must be at night (after 6pm or equvilent
IMO if you was paying attention at all you just can't fail that, yet people still does.
We have question's about this 4 category's Vehicle knowledge & maneuvering, Environment/eco driving, Traffic safety, Traffic rules and Personal conditions and safety.
Here in Sweden you have a maximum time of 50mins and most people are there nearly the whole time. For me the test took me like 40 minutes and then a used the 10 minutes that was left to double check everything.
Yeah in Sweden you need to check every mirror like constantly to pass the test.
I was like finished in 8 minutes but have to sit through the whole 45 min or something.
For the road test it was a like as soon as you drive like a normal person you will not have major mistake and as soon as you make sure the judge see you checking things you will not have enough minor mistakes.
Here is what the insurance would be on a Koenigsegg CCR so half the price of BMW M2.
So apparently 2 Koenigsegg has been scrapped in Sweden didn't know that at all I thought that Koenigsegg repaired most of their cars even if they where in extremally bad shape like the one:1 that that they crashed on Nürburgring.
Depends on the state
In my state there's a curfew and you can't have more than one person under 21 in the vehicle
Unless their a family member
And a lot of people ignore that rule
What is the punishments if you get caught with a passenger under 21 in the car ?
I don't remember but I don't think it's very much
In california they seem to be very strict about it.
The question is how much they enforce it.
in Michigan, you have to have driven for one year to have more than one non family member in the car, unless it’s a school event
or if you have a farm license then you can drive at like 13
of course the rule is ignored as well
very lax driving test but they at least teach you how to handle snow driving (at least through who I took lessons through)
damn that’s unfortuanate
no engine restrictions here luckily
or vehicle inspections which i kinda wish they would have bc i’ve seen some cars that are 100% gonna snap in half due to rust if they hit a pothole
In Hong Kong you are with probationary license for first year, you put a P sign on your car, you drive below 70(effectively 80) and you don't go to the fastest lanes in highway of three lanes or more, if you don't get caught in a year you have full license and drive like everyone.
i think my truck would have 55kw per tonne if my math was correct
interesting, do they use speed governors or is it a trust thing?
So you can have full license as early as 19 here.
I can get my full license when I turn 17, which is in half a year
but rn I have a curfew at 10pm (which is loosely enforced) unless it’s for school or work
We have speed camera, no additional device on the car but if you get caught your probationary license extend, if caught enough times you have to take the test again.
Ah ok
i hate the way the us uses speed cameras as money printing machines bc istg the few speed cameras near me are at the bottoms of hills
they also put cops at the bottom of hills like wtf ofc you’re gonna be a little faster than the limit when you’re going down a steep hill
Usually they don't brother give you tickets for effectively 17 km/h over limit :p
At 18km/h over limit they start giving tickets.
So 10 above sign are pretty safe here.
Rule as written as soon as you go above the limit you get a ticket, but in practice they only brother giving tickets for the next tier offence which is 15 over limit, and there are 3km/h "Instrument error" benefit of the doubt, that makes 18km/h
And most of time they even have a sign effectively saying "hey there is a camera ahead please check your speed or we have to give you ticker"
(not exactly, just a camera sign
So you have like skid track like we have in Sweden in your state to ? Where you get to learn how to handle the car if you looses control on ice or at least get how it feels to loose control over it. Or is just a theory course ?
Here in Sweden you can practice drive in a Koenigsegg if you want to. But I have seen people that has done their private practice driving in Ferraris and Lamborghinis. And when you get your licenses at 18 you can driver whatever car you want no restriction at all.
So when you are 18 you are not allowed to drive a car with over 175hp ?
Oh here in Hong Kong there are super car with probationary sign and once a while rich kid did stupid things in it.
Here in Sweden you have your license at "test" for the first 2 years so if do anything bad you have a chance of loosing you license and you are forced to do all the driver theory and tests again. But after that 2 years if you looses you license you will get it back after your "ban" from driving is over in most cases. And most common is that you only get a fine to pay when a driver that has an "test" licenses would loose it completely.
Norway even has average speed cameras witch is way worse. But to be fair most their roads you cant really drive that fast on if it is not an highway.
Similar story here, with probationary license you are more likely to lose the license, they are probationary after all.
Some people just outright not driving in the first year too.
Anything up 29km/h over the speed limit is usually just a fine and everything above 30km/h over the speed you limit you will need to say goodbye to your license.
Here are like up to 29(+3) there are fine and penalty points
44(+3) there are heavy fine and more penalty points, more than that you go to court and lose the license, might also have other penalty if that is terrible enough because that count as careless driving.
So yeah no Koenigsegg then if you are under 20. So you basically have restricted license until you are 20 years old ?
That's the nice thing about driving a truck. It's hard to lose your license on the freeway.
Its impossible right aren't all trucks limited to 80km/h ?
Oh, yeah. The Aussies have power to weigh and all sorts of stuff going with their license.
Similar to our bike licenses.
They are usually locked to 90 kmh. But it's tough going 30+ kmh over on a 70 kmh road.
For a around 2 ton car around 350hp limit are pretty reasonable IMO.
So the same rules counts for a truck license to ?
Truck drivers when they are behind another truck with a 0.5kmh lower limiter lets goo
Oh so that is the reason why have been waiting for your BMW 140I for "so long". Is the deal done on that BMW 140I you where looking at ?
Yeah. More or less. But it would probably be more likely that the trucker would get caught for reckless driving in those cases.
Tires and such is enough to be that difference.
Oh, that reminds me. Let me find a sign.
So you haven't "secured" the car yet.
I enjoy being behind a truck in scotland doing 56mph flying around corners on b roads
"does not apply to vehicles under 3.5t"
Same roads some people in cars do 40mph on
I think we all understand, human tends to not able to sleep before the day they need alertness the most :p
Reminds me off this road that is very close to where I live in some cases the trucks are driving faster then people in regular cars. If you don't count the typical porsche driver that if flying pass everyone at like 150km/h.
Congrats on the new car I guess. How much did you get for your e90 ?
I know where that is.
No, I learned to drive in the winter, plus they instruct you to loose traction on purpose so you can learn how to correct without excessive braking/overcorrecting
not sure how they do it in the sunmer
They have low-traction surfaces here to simulate driving on the snow.
They also have cars with 'training' wheels. That will lift up the car, to loosen traction.
Btw. Driving on that road is boring. If you're not doing well above the speed limit. It's more fun in a truck, than a car.
Of course you do it one of the more famous roads in Sweden.
Helps that I've driven on it a few 100's of times.
Problem is that their is always a car with trailer that runs the fun or some one in a big truck 🤔
I'm the kind of truck driver that will actually drive the speed limit whilst fully loaded on that road.
I Have probably driven their at least 50 times and I have hade my license for a bit more then 3 months. I live like 10km from that road.
You've driven past the quarry/dump that's there several times, then.
Just a bit annoying but I respect the truck drivers that are actually doing the speed limit and are driving safely. I hate the truck drivers on that road that has like a following distance of like less then 10 meters. If you need to brake hard you are basically guaranteed to be rear ended.
This one ?
That's bottom one. Jehander, and then there's an concrete, and asphalt place there, too.
That's the one I was thinking of.
You don't really think about it too much when just driving past it.
I actually did my first drive with a trailer to that location. To get some gravel/sand for my parents.
Ahh.
You forget how quickly material starts piling up.
Only drove half the day today. Still did like 75 tonnes.
Have you been to that location alot ?
Which location? Riksten?
I was working way up North of Stockholm today.
But Riksten I've been to quite a bit.
Probably driven out a few thousands of tonnes from Riksten. Now that I think about it.
I used to go to school in Riksten "Riksten skola" from 6-9 grade. Have you ever spotted a Flamenco Red BMW active tourer our black Passat with "kexchoklad takbox"
I have. How can you miss that?
The Passat I guess ? prefect thing to have on car so you always find it in a parking lot.
Of course we dont have it on all the time mainly only duing winter to have skies in it. But it is my dads company car so he doent pay for the diesel anyways just for the distance that he is driving privately.i guess that yoj have spotted it on "ica nära riksten" or on "slingerbulten" he drives their alot like everey thursdays.
But we hade it on Norway trip and the fuel consumption wasn't that bad all so I dont think it will affect fuel consumption that much.
Must have seen it somewhere on the 257
My petrol cost for the month of August is 320$ for 5k km
Slingerbulten is a nickname for that stretch on road 257. But you probably knew that already.
Yeah, I do. That name is more used than 257.
Is it a 335I ?
That sounds cheap.
Yeah, that's real cheap.
Around 22 kmpl on highways
Oh my brother used to have a black 330i e90 manual. Witch he got for like 3500$ and fixed some small problems on it and sold it a dealer for 8500$ so a big profit right there.
I just checked. And I've bought fuel for 70,000 SEK over the time that I have kept track of it.
50,000 km's, 4,000 liters, 70,000 SEK
More or less.
Only have 2 pictures of it and they both sucks.
supra
My internet is shit
Seems like it has switched owners quite a few times in the last 3 years.
Can't even see the pictures
Yeah e90 used to be very cheap for awhile but they have goin up in value a lot during the last couple of years in Sweden. He used was lucky with the timing when he bought it and got it for a very good price but it hade around 200,000kms on it when he bought it.
Does anyone have tips for me how to drive a trailer for my BE exam next week?
Uhh. Make sure that you check that the load is secured and everything?
Yeah he only owned it from April 2020 to April 2021. He likes to switch cars like once a year to try something different. He traded it for a 330i coupe witch was like fully loaded.
Its listed for sale right now if you want to look at it. https://www.car.info/sv-se/car-for-sale/bmw-330i-sedan-manual-258ps-2006-36801601
Seems like the current owner have replaced the m sport steering wheel with the ugly stock one.
Have you practiced your reversing skills with a trailer ?
Still looking around at 125i for sale.
It seems like he wants to keep his Abarth during winter to but you newer now with him. If he finds anything nice in his budget that he will most likely go for it. Or buy something cheaper as an 2nd car during winter.
For that price in india you can get a new small hatchback ☹️ and i mean 8k dollars
Newer cars are honestly terrible in terms of spending money.
Most just go down so much in value over the years.
But I think that there is still a chance that he will miss having a RWD car during winter. And if that is the case he will probably be on look out on RWD BMW. Or maybe an e90 with XDrive and then that famous xDrive delete.
With ones ? cheapest new cars in Sweden goes for like a bit over 10k for a dacia.
Prices in India doesn't reflect the prices of cars of the rest of the world.
Yeah i think that he total cost for repairs was a bit less then 1k. But for some reason it was fine for that guy that he bought the car from to sell for 3500$ instead of 5500$ that it was listed fore.
Sick and tired of it.
But if my brother deicides to use the Abarth during winter it will run the perfect history of newer being driven during winter that is has right now.
I still do not understand how a shop can replace tires without being authorized to do so, use the wrong size, and use the worst brand possible and think that its okay
they will do it until someone stops them from doing it.
Here is what you can get in Sweden for a bit more 16000 AUD. They seem to have a bit more options they car but the mileage is way higher. And that 330d doesn't look like its been cleaned at all. https://www.blocket.se/annons/vastmanland/bmw_330_i_xdrive_sedan_aut_m_sport__comfort_272hk_navi/102436902 https://www.blocket.se/annons/stockholm/bmw_330_d_xd_coup__aut_comfort_adap_skinn_nav_245hk_1163_man/100372163
Why is it that everyone here seems to be bmw fanatics
Because it's one of the few brands that still makes and sells cars that are rear-wheel driven.
Overall nice cars and my favorite german brand the manage to keep comfort/luxury but are sporty at the same time perfect mix. Even my moms active tourer is fun to drive for what it is.
I guess that works
That's the point
Reminds me of those guys at my local car meet with c63s or BMW mostly that one guy with his M140I and there is guy with latest m5 and he has probably ruined 10 sets of tires just this summer. https://www.tiktok.com/@madztheonly/video/7142137852237712646?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&item_id=7142137852237712646&q=kungenskurvabilträff&t=1663259435544
that volvo doing a burnout tho
Probably the most Swedish thing and the car meet is in Infront of IKEA.
Kungens Kurva? Barkaby?
This happened last Saturday rip his license. https://www.tiktok.com/@wediafro97/video/7142529040468004102?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&q=kungenskurvabilträff&t=1663261059766
Okay. Yeah. That's Kungens Kurva.
Kungens kurva ans sometimes at bromma.
I am scared of loosing traction idk why
My cousin drives like he has to go to heaven quickly
It's all about learning to manage it. For every day driving, then you're more likely to understeer regardless.
That said. I need new rears for my winter tires.
My car is an old small cheap hyundai
And traction control helps a lot on newer cars to even old BMW has a very good system to. So with a decent pair of tires its fine during winter to.
Just remember to always put the good set on the rears.
That's correct and the most important thing to have proper winter tires and not shitty all seasons.
Hakkapelitta or whatever they are called.
I just use friction tires. Can't stand studded.
My car
It understeers
The steering has no feel
Got small tyres
The brake is sensitive af
Gears take some time
Front suspension not stiff enough
Has got no feature exept for central locking ig
No abs ofc
Suspension is perfect to make the car feel unsafe at high speed
And the interior rattles 👍
Seems like a old car traction control/ABS has been standard om most cars for like over 20 years now.
9 yo
Was just a trim above base model so had nothing , the top model had +5hp
Abs & tc
And more things like rear defogger , foglights
These are basic needs nowadays

what is happening here i cant understand what they are saying
It's in Swedish they said "what a fucking idiot"
i figured there was some kind of expletive there lmao
i couldnt tell if it was a good kind of holy shit or if it was a bad kind of holy shit 😂
it kinda reminds me of me yesterday
i have one of these that i just finished fixing
i rode it to work yesterday
lets just say i shoulda had my brown pants on
ive been riding a motorcycle for a few months now but thats a goldwing
this ninja is stupid quick
Yeah that roundabout can be a bit sketcy last time I was att that car meet i nearly got hit by an BMW driver that lost control while drifting in that roundabout.
It was that silver BMW in this video that nearly hit me and my brother. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMF1agsQr/
do you all know anything about how the California points system works? I really want to drive my friends a short distance after school but technically it’s against the law to have anyone under 20 years old in my car because my license is less than a year old
I’m tryna figure out if it’s even enforced or what
well the way i look at that
is
you would have to be misbehaving in some other way
to cause them to pull you over
like speeding or disobeying traffic lights or something
they dont know how old you are especially looking at you from outside a car of call things
like you would have to draw attention to yourself for them to even figure it out
im in colorado they have similar BS here
so just, dont speed, follow traffic lights, stop signs, use your turn signals
drive like a decent human being
i dont think anything will happen
(make sure your friends are behaving and not distracting you)
as thats why they even have those rules in the first place
true
Im not even sure if I do get pulled over for whatever reason if they’ll ask for the id’s of all the passengers
Lol me either
I would like to think I’m a good driver
Thank you I’ll probably do it
well it certainly hasnt been for lack of trying
our cops dont seem to give a shit out here
i dont think the same can be said for cali
yeah idk
our city has some pretty nice cops but I’m not sure how specifically anything is enforced
or how the point system works
It says there’s only punishments after 2 points… and idk how many having underage passengers is worth
if that makes sense
well really of the things you could be doing
thats not directly dangerous like blowing a stop sign or speeding so
true
"oh no i have passengers in a car the world might implode!"
I’d never do that I never look at my phone except for a split second at lights to change my music or something
if a cop sees you doing that even at a light they will not appreciate it
you wouldnt believe how many people screwing with their phones-
like actual adults that bother to dress nicely and everything
and look like they have important jobs
you wouldnt believe how many are goofing with their stupid phone not paying attention and they try to merge into me while im on a bike
usually the classic soccer mom or male equivalent
it’s not that hard to see the people in front of you moving or the lights green in the corner of your eye like cmon
driving a vehicle way bigger than they should be
and sure
on a motorcycle i may be smaller but like
people just can’t get off of Facebook or instagram or whatever for 5 seconds
my lights work and i signal lane changes 😂
It’s probably because people don’t check their blind spots
They don’t expect a bike because there’s not another lane I guess
I thought it was stupid until my instructor explained it
i swear i was going to a friends house saturday and on the interstate
3 people in the span of 30 seconds
fuckin tried to merge into me
only reason i dont die is because i watch what people are doing
it actually makes me really salty 😂
driving is probably the most dangerous method of transportation due to the close proximity
and its the one people take the least seriously
mirrors are for nerds
Exactly
bruh
how
old
i think to this day even
old cars didn’t have full mirrors?
you only need what the left one?
dont quote me on that
nah some old cars didnt have both mirrors
I think it depends on your blind spots and how big your back window is
if you have a tiny back window you probably want both side mirrors
Only need the offside
they are just cosmetic at this point
Mirrors are for intelligent people who actually know why they need to use them
yup
i tell you the other thing i hate is people pulling into parking spaces
so they have to back out of them
Old Leone is the same
and they dont pay attention backing up and try to kill me that way
throwback to optional extra passenger side mirror
bring it back with a mirror subscription
I’m guilty of this I can almost never park perfectly the first time
well
i would rather people back in to spaces
so they go forward leaving them
its also just easier since the front of the car steers
I have a backup camera with cross detection warning though so I never back out while there’s something behind me
That could work but it becomes a problem when there’s people behind you
if you’re in a parking lot and someone’s trailing behind you then you go past the spot then stop they might be in the way
even if you signal most people probably wouldn’t understand lmao
In fowards?
yeah
I gotcha yeah
i dont like it but i also get not wanting to wait for someone to faff with parking for 3 hours
thats why bikes are nice i just go around them 😂
😂
u gotta really pay attention but
bike life is the good life
here in CO they actually do not care about bike emissions
so you just go get insurance and a plate and you're set
what kind of bike?
i have 2
Electric or gas powered or just a plain bike
97 zx7r
lol no not bicycles
those are slow and boring
those arent my pictures but it gives you the idea
it wasnt cheap but i took my class and got my motorcycle endorsement in june iirc
ye
ive been vibing since then
Timer is stopping at 220kmh because speedometer is lying about 10%.
Front sprocket -1, rear stock.
www.instagram.com/Zyga96
you really need brown pants with that thing
thats km/hr but thats basically 0-120mph
a friend has the exact same bike and i saw one for cheap on craigslist and snatched it up
Oh wrong video i thought you meant that tiktok basically he just exited because of the sound the car is making and and asks like 10 times if they car has turbo or not.
lol
i like me a good ol spinny boi
i want one of those h2 ninjas with the supercharger that flutters
It was that tiktok with that stupid ram driver that thought that his car could handle a roundabout at like 100km/h.
well they are in a dodge what do you expect
Here is the highest displayed range that I have gotten on my moms BMW.
Nearly run out of fuel before that only s bit over 0,6l left in the tank out of 51 liters.
Yeah but that's highly inaccurate, and not really a reliable measurement. Should check the average consumption, or keep track of the used fuel and the distance traveled between fuelups
I always wonder with how like alot of cars have speedos that read a fair bit high. They are lying about their MPG essentially heh.
My dads car as an average consumption of around like 45-50mpg. But it is a diesel and Volkswagen so I don't know how accurate that is.
well diesels usually have higher mpg than gasoline in my experience
so that sounds right
vel yes
but i just hear that 3rd person ive never touched a diesel in my life
i thought about getting a diesel when i was looking for a truck but
me 80's diesel car can achieve ~50 UK mpg
heard the repairs could get costly and im pretty sure the emissions here is extra obnoxious for diesel
didnt want to deal with it
Its based on the average consumption of the last 25km so that can be true because I drove extremally eco friendly before that because the car said 0km left when i still hade like 20km left to gas station so yeah cruise control and eco pro mode the whole way and like 20km/h slower then the speed limit. But we are usually getting around 700km I am resetting the trip meter after every fill up to se how many km we can drive on a tank.
If you keep track of that, just use the numbers to calculate the actually consumption
To lazy to that but the "life time" consumption from January 2021 is at like 7,5L/100km according to the car.
Do you use fuelly mk
What type of driving has he done so far mostly city or highway driving ?
I use Spritmonitor
His commute is "city" (town) - highway - city
So probably 50/50
Maybe more highway
I thought it might have been loose pads

BMW claims this for my moms car.
I know people with 306's getting 55MPG with the same engine as my 305 but aero differences ech
BMW claims 5.6l/100km for the 116i but, that was NEDC
305 has similar drag to a volvo brick
Volvo :pogwant:
lovely aerodynamic flat front
I was struggling to get past 65mph overtaking a truck on a B road today
4ft of aerial
no radio
has a blanked off hole on the side for like a CB / taxi radio
it was a taxi
when I pull down my sun visor I have top 10 ways taxi drivers lose their no claims bonus

will their coolant hoses make my saab fast
was considering getting their saab intercooler but a bit expensive and id have to cut up my NG900 bumper of replace it with a 9-3 one which I dont want to do
I am not sure if that will work all there parts is adapted for each specific model but maybe I am wrong if you are interested its probably better to ask them they know way better then me.
They say that, theres just no room in the NG900 bumpers without cutting them
OG9-3 bumpers stick out way further
Optimal track car right here (SAAB 96)
Cockpit view from the Volvo 850.
Can you guess witch one who reached the highest speed on the airstrip of this 3.
i cant even tell what the one in the middle is
Toyota GR Yaris.
im betting on the toyota just because japanese
It's extremely accurate on my car pretty much lines up exactly with the manual calculation on fill-ups
So the mk8 was the fasted on airstrip run the Toyota never reached its top speed before it was time to start breaking. But the Toyota was the fasted on the "track" run but the mk7 wasn't closed behind. all three cars are tuned but the golf mk7 is heavily tuned to around 500hp and is rebuild for track use Both the mk8 and the Yaris is completely road legal.
is that a GTI clubsport?
Yes the one with 300hp stock and the mk7 is a GTI performance.
I think it was some special edition of the GTI clubsport to like an celebration edition if i remember correctly. It came with every single option as standard it even has an akrapovic exhaust system from factory.
I think akrapovic exhaust is an option on the R too
They are latterly complete opposite probably the most capable hatchbacks on track that you can buy right now.
It is not worth it at all it doesn't sound good at all for like 5000$ extra or something from factory. If you buy the system directly from then it will sound way better because it doesn't need to trough all of strict regulation as production car need.
On the standard clubsport but it was standard on the 45 edition.
Lmao, it’s listed under “styling”
This was punctured in my tyre. Like a screwdriver bit, no way I ran over it. Yall reckon someone stabbed it in my tyre?
It was all the way in, only the back of the rod was showing
Yeah def looks like a flat head screwdriver
You say "No way I did it".
But you'd be surprised by the things that can happen without you knowing.
My friend managed to run over a razor blade
I shit you not
And it went in perpendicular
I don't know how for the life of me he managed that
i have done a burn out turning out of a driveway a few times
my car shouldnt beable to do it but it doesnt care
also random question
i got a tire thats got a iffy spot on it
what axle should i put it on if does go that would more controllable
front or rear?
i know on the older ones you wanted the best wheels on the rear but this gen has indep vs live
break my wallet makes a show
Probely what is they look good but doesn't sound good enough to be worth so much money.
if the x3/5 wasnt such a pile i would have considered one
they can have v8s and stuff
tho v8 bmw means vanos hell and plastic fun
But at least he forgot to blink left 😀
my friends x3 ticks like a clock
like worse than a 5.4
its bad
i dont have a good photo of my car
mostly bc its a mid 2000s ford truck suv
not even google has a good photo
ford was like lets me a UTE of it
4x4ft bed of depression
Ha
Ngl the indicator was actually on

Yeah it was but nearly impossible to se if you dont look close i guess that rear lights has been tinted or something.
I think they are pretty stock
Anyways here is how you are supposed to leave in a M140I https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMF1tG9Po/
Tiktok 🤮
But al the f20 lci I have seen haven't hade their blinkers that dark and they are always very easy to se.
Could be just the video
Yeah you need to like turn of traction control completely on a BMW to launch it or something like that. I have tried on my moms car but I cant get it work at all. I know that it has launch control but I just don't understand how it works.
Maybe you hold the brakes for to long or something. I think that you need to let off as soon as it pops up on the dash.
And you need to have fully of to or just in sport traction mode ?
My moms f45 has a whole page in the manual about how to use launch control very useful feature to have on such a car. But it is Norwegian so maybe its something that that I misunderstands but Swedish and Norwegian is usually very close basically the same language. So just sport mode and one click on TC and gearbox in sport mode. And then just press the brake and the throttle at the same times until it says launch start/race start or something like that.
Done with work for the week.
Do you need the "sport transmission" for that with the pedals on the wheel?
Apparently not necessary, just 8spd gearbox, warm engine, Sport Plus mode, and then just brakes + gas
It doesn't have the sport plus is guess that exclusive for cars with "sport transmission" but the manual has the whole page about launch control so it should have it.
Does you brother 116i have launch control ?
Does it have the paddle shifters ? Its like 100$ extra to get the sport transmission.
Nope doesn't have the paddles
Is the only different between sport and the normal one that it paddles or is it something else to ?
What is the this option that my moms car has ?
what do you guys think of hybrid cars?
I don't se the point with them just got for an full ev or full ice car instead.
I think hybrid is better than full electric
I like Prius 😶
Or do I ?
Hyundai n vision still a concept?
Prius is not a plug in hybrid right ?
Ig Prius prime is
I don't se the reason to pay like 20k extra for an the "same" car but an hybrid just to get electric range of around 80km. And when the battery is empty the car need to carry an extra 200-300kg witch's will lead to an higher consumption. and nowadays most hybrids is in the same price range as an similar car but an fully electric one.
Torque vectoring apparently
And just the pedals yes
Like the only reason why people bought hybrids in Sweden was to get a lower tax on their company cars as soon as they removed it hybrids sells has gone down a lot. And most of those hybrids never got charged either.
So basically standard with AWD then I guess or why would you add in such a car otherwise.
#AMMONYC #koenigsegg #supercars
This is the first wash and drive of the Koenigsegg CC850 which is the first supercar to feature both a manual and automatic transmission. This CC850 is 1 of 70 cars to be produced to commemorate Koenigsegg's two decades of production and founder Christian Von Koenigsegg's birthday. Accompanied by my good frien...
Could be idk, maybe Sports Line + xDrive idk

Mild hybrid is quite common nowadays, many brands offer them
Yeah that is common mainly to reduce tax on their cars.
Mild hybrid can be as simple as having the AC and accessories run on a battery that charges as you let off the accelerator.
Reduce emissions tax yes
Have you checked your brother cars with m decoder its free website where you can se all of options and package that car has.
So my moms car is mild hybrid then i guess that would explain the gauge on the instrument cluster.
One on the bottom is?
Yes
Or otherwise I have no idea what it can be.
Kind of. But sort of not. The early EfficientDynamics stuff were when BMW introduced electric steering, and the like.
I know that 0-20 thing it is live consumption but not what the battery thing is.
It's that when you're letting off the accelerator, that it charges the battery.
Coasting and stuff.
I can't tell you how many times I have been driving my car. And then reached for the aid brakes in my own car.
Something that trucks have...
It has the optional Hydro Steering-Servotronic so not "fully electric steering" on this specific car like most f45 and f46 has.
I don’t think that counts as mild hybrid
Don't think that one was MHEV already
Apparently my brother has that too, and that's definitely not a MHEV
Mild hybrids (also known as power-assist hybrids, battery-assisted hybrid vehicles or BAHVs) are generally cars with an internal combustion engine equipped with an electric machine (one motor/generator in a parallel hybrid configuration) allowing the engine to be turned off whenever the car is coasting, braking, or stopped, and then quickly rest...
So from what I can gather from that. As long as it has a Stop/Start feature. Then it's basically a "Mild Hybrid"
I looked up what the "Hydro steering" stuff was.
And it was electric steering.
But it's probably just variable steering or something.
This wikipedia page just seems terribly written, it's contradicting itself
MHEV is imho when the starter/generator can assist while driving
If it can assist while driving, then it would just be a hybrid. And not a Mild hybrid.
Or am I wrong?
I think full on hybrid can drive on both power sources individually right?
Mild hybrids can give you a boost when driving. And it also acts as a starter/generator. But you can't completely drive them on battery alone. Which you can do with hybrids.
That's what I consider assisting 😛
Newer mild hybrids are actually not too bad. As long as you don't get the wild jerking when it starts the engine all the time from a stop.
Here is full optional list on my moms f45 quite a lot of options on it and a lot of car for "just" 160 000SEK so like 15k$ at the time she bought it. https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/wba2a9106fv474987
BMW VIN decoder will check your BMW VIN and show you full vehicle specification
So, is my MX-5 a mild hybrid ( I don't believe so)
It charges a super capacitor when you brake or let off the throttle, and then uses that to run the AC and other electrical bits
So any any car produced after like 2013 is an mild hybrid then. Start stop is one of the worst feature on "modern cars" it so annoying specially when it turns off to early and make the power steering unusable.
Maybe that's correct but the feel in the steering wheel is way better then in my dads Passat where you cant feel the road at all and I don't like that at all.
I'd personally just consider any car that can get any sort of a boost from an electric motor to be a mild hybrid.
If it just powers the AC stuff, then ehh. That's just cheating.
When I heard people say mild hybrid what I expect are some even less electric than Prius, where they only use motor to help where ICE are absolute terrible.
Mercedes uses mild hybrid to get better acceleration figures and for some "tax cheating" but nearly all car manufactures does that anyways nowadays,
Basically all new car is mild hybrids my aunts kia stonic is a mild hybrid,
morroco charging 85k$ for having over 285hp and 135k for 400+
but sir.. my car has 11hp hybrid
When you did it right a mere 20hp motor can help fight against the weakest link of an ICE quite well so why not.
Everyone working on motor tech anyways.
PHEV is where it's at.
Does +22hp is from the mild hybrid system and is only available when you are accelerating hard. to get a a bit better 0-100km/h time and I think they reduces the turbo lad a little bit to.
Are they charging extra for more hp or is based on the cars emersions per km ? like most countries has.
horsepower figures, like a tax bracket for income but hp on vehicles
284 hp cars about to flood the market
We use displacement for ICE and weight for EV in terms of road tax in Hong Kong.
And the import tax are mostly the price tag of the car (higher % for more expensive cars)
I just want a hybrid truck.
That is a bit weird way to do it so electric car is super expensive then because a lot of them has 300hp+. How does it matter how many hp the car has if the emissions is still very low in the car ? Here in Sweden the tax is just based on on the how much the car pollute per km and not how much hp it has.
Give me a truck that has an EV range of just 20 km's and I'm more than good.
Or something that was PHEV with 50 km's.
that could maybe be a good idea i guess that truck would regenerate a lot of power back when coasting because the are so heavy.
28 tonnes rolling down a hill.
There are already hybrid trucks, I know this. Just not sure how the range is on them. Let me check.
im sure there is electric relief packages for full electric cars im unsure i'd have to check their documentation again
Hell. I could even do with an EV truck depending on the job I'm doing.
Classic porsche 300k+ for the base model and heated seats is still an optional extra.
looool
This is an EV truck. Give. Give. Give.
Oh shit it was vented/cold seats not heated ones.
idk why but the scale fo that truck seems.. wrong.. not a huge bed, has the extra axel, and a larger cab which looks like it could have a bed of some sort?
wow, that's look cool
The annual tax on EV are quite low here, for a 2.5 tonne EV it is less than 1/5 of an 1.5 L ICE
That's just a normal Volvo FMX. But with a giant battery on each side.
Dream truck ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsTGUpTX3kk

ok
Eh. Not really the biggest fan of the Mercedes trucks. Volvo or Scania for me, really.
To give you guys an idea how little I actually drove today. It wasn't even 50 km's with the truck.
Just buy a an Volvo emblem and put over the Mercedes logo and steering wheel logo and problem solved 😀
Basically 45 km's to/from the work site. And then I drove some loads internally, along with going to the gas station to get something to drink.
doesnt volvo own a huge part of scania?
No?
"Aug 7, 1999"
Oh. It never happened.
ah
yeah reading that right now lol
at this pace i should just skip to the end of the page to get the real story
That's what happens when you only read the headlines 😛
not the most important of topics (to me) to spend longer reading about lol
coming in and out of this convo while i answer work emails
lol
But yeah. VAG owns Scania.
ahh okay cool
So Volvo did what Koenigsegg kinda did with Saab when before they went bankrupt.
So this one fits your taste better. https://www.volvotrucks.se/sv-se/tools/truck-builder.html#/configurator/fhelectric/sv-se

How much more expensive is the ev version over the ice one ?
No idea. I just know that you'd get back the cost used for fuel real quick.
Then again. You'd probably have to do slightly different work with EV compared to ICE.
With EV, then you'd probably want to do more night and city work.
With ICE, then you can just keep on rolling throughout the whole day. And do 500 km's in a day.
It also depends on how the charging infrastructure looks like for trucks. Which isn't that great, I want to say.
Since if you're working and driving a lot, then you'd be required to charge up midday, during your lunch.
I guess that charging infrustrucre isn't ready yet for electric trucks at least. And you cant really charge them over night on 11kw/h chargers like you can do with a normal ev because that would take way to long.
How many km did you manage to drive on 1 tank ?
I think you can check that trough the iDrive with it will show the statics for your last driver. Sounds reasonable I guess that you where driving not pretty hard and not some kind of eco driving. But with such a car "smiles per gallon" is the only thing that matters.
6-7l/100km i guess and not MPG. That's actually very impressive my moms f45 225i xDrive doesn't get that much lower consumption on a motorway run.
Continuous speed doesn't really change a lot , in acceleration you see differences
Also... Apparently in F-series BMW's you can't sync dual zone climate control?

That was what I meant with a motorway run.
Are you sure about that ?
Atleast on the F2x and F3x, and I think also the F1x
Not sure about the F4x I think they have a different unit
Ah yeah so that's a different panel
Here is the average fuel consumption for the last 1551km.
Google picture but no Sync button
I think that is for the normal 2 series and not the active tourer.
110kph GPS?
I'm amazed how quickly that that started up
Yeah as the regular 2 is based on the 1 F2x
110 gps I do about 5.2-5.6 ish? going off memory
I think that control panel is used on the F2x and F3x
5 level cars as in X5/5er?
Yeah they have an "all" button
Or Sync yes depending on the MY
Used to be "All", switched it later to "sync",
But the 1x-2x-3x F doesn't have it
Isen't the ingention always nearly instant on all cars. The engine can take a bit longer to start. Like in my dads passat a cold start can take like 5 seconds to do it litterly pops up on the dash "engine is starting please wait".
Yeah I was in my brothers car today and he asked me that as every previous car he had had it
Quite annoying
My dad's car you can't sync, but that's because both sides have physical wheel you spin
No that's just diesel things
Werid thing that f45 has it but not the more expensive 1 and normal 2 series.
The infotainment on mine takes a while to come on
My car just has cold/hot and an AC button, no temperature setting
ugggghm, I hate no having climate control
Probably as it's a newer gen
Too warm > too cold > too warm > too cold
I could probably do without, but I do really love mine
haha yeah
Same thing in my moms bmw but is has a sync button too.
Nah, depending on the season I can put it up to ¼-½-¾ to keep the temperature stable 😛
I live driving with the roof down, it very much helps there 😂
Don't really mind it on this car but on a different car I want dual zone, not because I really care but otherwise it just looks extremely ugly
My car actually only has a single zone
Which I don't care about because I control the temperature 😂
Yeah so the zoning idc, just the "upper level" climate system as the others just look cheap
If single as standard but dual is optional, the optional just looks fancier often
That's what I have now and ngl it's fune for me
I've never driven a car where it hasn't driven me mad
But I'm also very sensitive to temperature
Like look at Audi, it has temperature setting, but single zone looks ugly
Compared to the upper models
I don't care about the functionality, just the looks
So here we have the reason why you went trough a whole tank of gas in like 8 hours from buying the car. Sporty hill driving isen't really the best for fuel consumption.
Identical to my brothers... Except his wheel is on the correct side
Mazda just joinked those controls from the Mazda 2
I'd get the upgraded system just for the Chrome

With the traction control on compeltely or the you get in sport+ mode ?
That looks very bare, haha
Oh that has heated seats, 1 optional extra
It's like things are just missing
Also thing the leather wrapped wheel is optional
Not even iDrive
No limiter, no CC
ahhhh, yeah
Nothing
Yeah standard one is horrendous
Glad the 116i has it too

Don't have that :(
But it's a 116i lol so paddles are overrated
Idk mostly drive it in Comfort
🥲
Just schedule an appointment for new tires every 2 months

Weird my brothers e90s all RWD hade a very good traction control in the fully on mode and in TC In sport mode it lett the car slide a bit then then take over. But barely no wheel spin in the fully on mode.
Wait what the actual fuck, why so expensive
How can that be the "same" car as the M140i they look like they are 15 years apart from each other.
my set of 4 PS5s including mounting cost me like 700
Not possibal in Sweden to the "nordic" ones are actully pretty high specced as standard.
Because it's a pReMiUm car and you can spec it exactly how you like

I love the fact that when I moved from the "Eco" tires the previous owner installed to just normal spec tires, the efficiency on paper improved
🥲
Just regular 5 yes
Okay looking at this online pretty much anywhere I looked it says the 4S is the replacement of the Super Sport and that the 4S is much better
Subscribe to Tyre Reviews - http://bit.ly/2p6kKXq
We tried to make a 5 minute video to explain the differences between the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S, and it's older brother the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Sadly we failed, and this video is 9 minutes. If you're not a tyre geek, but are curious about the differences between the two tyres, feel...
At least we dont need to worry about getting the steering wheel stolen.

Gas or petrol pump nozzles turn off automatically when your tank is full. The way it works is really clever and uses the venturi effect.
You can buy my books here:
https://stevemould.com/boo...
I've been wondering about that
I'm pretty happy with my more normal Pilot Sport 5. At least for now.
I'm very happy with mine too
It's a much more economical tire
And waaaaay more grip than my car needs
Pilot Sport 5 being less efficient than what I had before. Which were some Michelin Primacy.
Oh yeah, but I was referring to them in comparison to other UHP tires
The PS4 weas already one of the longer lasting UHP tires
Oh, and the Primacy were on 16 inch rims. And not 17 inchers to boot.
Just remember that you should still replace the tires after a couple of years. Even if the thread is good.
To get rid of old stock?
Yeah, probably old new stock.
Exactly why they probably wanted to get rid of it 😂
Isn't the Michelin Super Sport a minimum of 6 years old or something?
Well it got replaced by the 4S in 2017, haha
They still produce them? Or are you talking about old stock?
I would just want to go with a more modern design.
Yeah, I don't think from a consumer perspective there is a reason to go with the old
Interesting
Could they be OE tires for some ford model?
Actually that is a reason for them to produce them
I know it's an OE tire for some sports cars.
Some Ferrari's used them.
You could probably get away with 235/40ZR18
Wider tires mean more expensive tires :c
I'm glad that I have a fairly moderate size of 225.
I think the 4S is technically a higher performance tire compared to the PS5?
Yes
The non-S are more for spirited driving.
If I remember right, then I have the PS5 in 225/45ZR17.
Running a square setup is poggers.
I went from 205/55R16 👀
Mine are 205/45 17
So I found this in the manual for the f45 I guess to activate launch control. You need to put it in sports mode turn of traction control completely. Choose sport mode on the gearbox then press the break all the way down and floor the accelerator paddle until a "race flag" appears on the dash and then let of the brake. Will try next them when I am on suitable place for it.
Sailun
My mom has the weirdest tire combo ever on her car
It's a FWD Volvo
She's got shitty chinese tires on the front
And I think Primacy 4 on the rear?
🤔
Probably because the front wore out first. And just replaced them with cheap tires?
I have no idea what the shitiest tires are, put those are probably high on the list
Literally what I have on the truck.
Cuz cheap.
"cheap" tires are usually not actually that cheap
Buy Once, Cry Once.
And won’t kill you
And last longer
And be more comfortable
And use less fuel 😂
The thing about being more efficient and using less fuel is a big one for trucks.
MAXTREK
Yeah I know, I'd never cheap out on safety
Even if the tires only give you 3% better fuel economy. With trucks, that's big.
And the primacy on the rear
Damn they screwed up the install on those
Tires don't even have a DOT code
And 205/55R16 is like one of the most common sizes
So not expensive
Yeah it’s dumb
Also all-season in the front?
That's like saving 10 liters with each fuel up with a 300 liter tank. Which would be like €20 for each fuel up.
I’ve told her, she doesn’t listen 😂
ROI: very soon
Luckily I do that stuff for my parents so this shit doesn't happen
My dad has more sense, Primacy 4 on all corners
You could easily do two fuel tanks a week depending on the job. And if you work 48 weeks. Then that's a lot of saved money.
Only advantage with having the sport line steering wheal instead of the m-sport one not needing to wake up to this. https://www.tiktok.com/@pontus9922/video/7143950173553708294?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7132172227651388934
Yeah even the steering wheel heater is bad in the standard wheal it literally burns you hands after having it on for like 2 minutes.
Is steering wheels being stolen a common occurrence? lol
Not specifically steeringwheels, but basically all upgraded items which can be used to retrofit in poverty spec cars of chavs
accidentally put normal gas without any oil mixed into it into my old ass 2 stroke now its runnin funky 💀
Lmao
More common then you think specially on m sport BMW. But the IDrive gets stolen quite often to their where 2 BMW like in my area that got their steering wheel and iDrive stolen at the same time.
I have seen a lot of posts about people getting their steering wheels and iDrive stolen on different social medias here in Sweden.
And I read about it quite regular on different news sources to.

Alex might have found his new dream car! The Lucid Air GT has HUGE range, a futuristic look, amazing handling and speed, but it also has a TON of tech issues. Can the car overcome lacklustre software, or should you leave this $200,000 car in the lot?

Oooof
Couldn't stand the headunit in my E30 sticking out by like 1/8". You can see the radio itself, clipping into the sleeve, sticks out. So even when the sleeve is set back, the radio still sits out and you can see the sleeve.
Ended up grinding the rear of this opening to allow me to cut and TIG tack the side clips that hold the radio in, back. This let me move the radio back 3/16" in the sleeve.
Shot the bezel with some SEM flat trim paint to cut the gloss down on the plastic around the radio, and now its as the kids say, "hella flush" or at least as flush as it can be

That sounds like a terrible idea. The annual inspection is a good way to keep the cars on the road worthy.
If you cant drive it it aint road worthy.
Got a new car last Tuesday. Not the prettiest, but most importantly has the interior, engine, and transmission that I wanted. That blue soap bar had issues from day one, but it introduced that particular interior and automatic gearboxes in general to me. My first attempt to replace it was an older V70, manual with beige interior. I ended up hating the interior and not enjoying manual that much anymore (seller claimed it has been programmed, supposed to have 235hp (~40ish more than designed)), it's really nice if you drive it angrily, but awful when you're just going for some milk after late shift. With effort I can drive it casually (read: smooth), but most of my life I'm tired and just want to get there.
These two cars have also taught me why all automatics are not equal. Tom Scott and Matt Grey had a discussion about automatic vs. manual, and Matt commented how unfamiliar automatic is less reliable than manuals. There's a big difference in how much the blue one revs doing anything compared to the new silver one (and they're supposed to have the same stuff). Of course driving the blue one for 1½ years taught me what to expect and how to drive it, but the second the silver one moved it blew my mind. It just went much like a manual ._.
Are they both from the same model year ?
One year apart, but the registered engine codes are the same. (The blue one has experienced all kinds of abuse, it just happened to be my first automatic experience, and managed to convince me despite of how horrible it is :D)
Voom voom
I have yet to dug any deeper (it has rained most of the week), but fair enough I already know they don't have [at least entirely] the same engine
:DD
Maybe the engine is the same but gearbox maybe has been changed between those two model years. Or maybe the silver has just been more looked after and it better shape then the blue one. I am from Sweden but I nearly know nearly no nothing about Volvos and I have never driven one either.
Silver has definitely been more looked after, the papers it came with include everything from troubleshooting emails. :D But now I must know what and why a non-Volvo Swede chooses (although I get it if your answer is that Volvo hasn't been Volvo after 1999)
(and oh, my 1999 V70 is an import from Sweden, so now I have a few low denomination Swedish coins, and a car I can't find matching paint for)
bro parked on the sidewalk
..well the sign tells you to slow the children that are playing there. That certainly slows them down
I'm just mad that they chose to ruin the grass closer to the house, rather than the smaller patch between the sidewalk and the road
(also that's one angry looking car. I think I have seen a video where a man version of that car got angry at a biker and got pinned down. Those eyes pop in the wrong way)
I am more into German brands mostly BMW probably because my brother has hade a few of them so I guess that why I like them. Right now I have a Golf GTI from 2006 but it needs a new spring witch hasn't arrived in months so I haven't been able to drive it since like the week after I got my license. So I have mostly been driving my parents cars during summer. And they have German brands to a Volkswagen and a BMW. And Volvos is just to boring for me like every family has one in Sweden and my dad used to have an Volvo v70 2014 as his company car but he didn't like that much so no more Volvo for him I guess and I was to young to drive at that time to.
Cant you just drive to the nearest Volvo dealership and order the paint from them ?
Boring, that's certainly fair and understandable. Albeit I have an urge to note how with any Volvo you'd already be cruising :D I grew up with Fords, but I guess the abundance of Volvos initially tipped the scale, and now practically all pre-2000 Fords are gone (horrible engines), so it certainly was the better choice
Probably, but I'm sure that'll cost a lot more than the mainstream Maston paints
Do you know the color code for your Volvo ?
Oh my, I got censored. I was saying how I too looked into BMWs, but got turned off by the fact how them being rwd means that you have to pay premium for ones that haven't been touched by teens with teenage car ideals, and expensive cheap cars are the worst kind
Yes (427-26), but it's not a pressing matter. One of reasons I bought that particular one was the near-rustless-state (but there's always something to paint). Of course if you know off your head a Swedish online store that sells car paints and can throw the link I'd appreciate that)
Probably because of the containers on the other side?
containers?
The big boxes filled with something
there are no containers
American cars are as wide as French cars are long :D
brick
4runner gang
It's funny that someone called soap would point out brick Volvos :D I call my Ford-Volvos bars of soap because that's clearly how they were designed. They just rounded the existing design.
My brother hasn't hade that much of problems with his BMW that he has owned mostly in E90 generation witch is very generation for younger drives and yeah some smaller things has gone wrong with each of his e90 he has hade 3 of them but nothing that you cant fix yourself for a reasonable and he actually managed to sale each car for more then he bought them for. Here is the only 2 picture of them that I have still have saved on my phone. I don't have any pictures of his last e91 Wagon.
Found this website that seems to have it. Not sure what the shipping cost would be outside of Sweden. https://allanyanser.se/fargkoder/volvo/grey-pearl-metallic-427
There's still time to convert. If he has bought the same car thrice they can't be that good. I have only resold my very first Volvo (I don't have the evidence since I didn't have the knowledge then, but I'm certain it had 10 valve engine when it was supposed to have 20 valve one), so I now/still have four Volvos. Obviously having a Volvo is better >:u
Those are admittedly very sharp looking BMWs
Just the fact that the can says Volvo is awesome :D Tack så mycket!
...doesn't look like they ship anywhere, all but local pickup are greyed out ._.
Eh, I have two weeks of vacation coming up, I might as well earmark this and see if they have a place close to where ferries land
He didn't sell them because they where bad he just found new on that he liked more. And he likes to try something "new" like each year he is not that guy that keeps on car for like a few years. And all of his e90s has been in different body styles to the first one was an sedan the second was an coupe and 3rd one was an wagon. And the biggest reason why he sold the e92 aka the coupe was because of the fuel consumption because he got a new job that required him to use the car to work and back from work so he switched to e91 aka the wagon witch was 325i with a lower consumption then his 330i that he hade before. And nowadays he drives an Abarth 595 competizione at least for now.
Yeah the e90s looked so good for their time and still look good now even compared to modern cars.
I have quicker bike ride to work than with a car, and I'm definitely very grateful for that :D When gas neared 3€/L I genuinely had the choice to just not drive. And now that it's getting cold and gas is still somewhat expensive (~2.2€/L-ish) it's at least tolerable.
I don't want to start a fight, but obviously Volvo has always had the best look in any given generation, 40-series excluded.
The prices in Sweden has dropped a fair bit compared to just a month ago. 18,50kr/l for e95 last week just like 2 month ago it was around 23-24kr/l for normal petrol. and diesel peaked at a bit over 28kr/l in march.
.....I have to recheck the conversion rate, I feel fooled right now ._.
This was with a my moms car and a full tank is 51l in that car so pretty it was pretty dam close until empty.
18,5kr is 1,77€, that's less than 0,15€ more than gas here used to be before any drama ._.
Yeah gas prices has dropped a fair bit in last weeks it used over 20kr/l for a quite a while.
Yeah but compare it to other cars from same year.
I feel like the e60 looks and feels more modern than e90
Then again I've been buried in e30 and e34 all week
95 was 22,7kr last Wednesday (at the most consistently cheapest station I know) .-. The worst it got was around 31,4kr (I drastically cut my driving when it reached 27kr (2,5€)
Your discussion about BMW's is out of my league, but as my parting words I'll note that I like all BMWs where the nostrils are wider than they are tall .__.
