That's basically what I mean. They are physically unable to be safe
Yeah compare it to the police car in the background that the moped car collided with and you can se the differents in safety.
is that a V70 or something?
And they are not cheap either a new can cost between 20k to 25k.
or is it an X5?
Probably a XC70
yeah, that sounds right, it seems to have those plastic trims on the side
the overexposed image makes it a little difficult to make out the shape of the back ๐
yeah
Here in Sweden you can drive regular cars at 15 to but the need to be limited to 30km/h and no backseats and some other things to needs to be changed. And it need to be re registered as an "A-tractor".
it's pretty mangled too
Stuff like this...

We had that also here, mostly SUV's and small vans were converted
Made 0 sense
Here, have a V8 limited to 45km/h
Limited to 30 kmh here.
One of neighbors has an Porsche cayenne turbo from like 2007 as his "a-tractor" idk why need more then 400hp for car that is only allowed to go 30km/h and and the consumption is at like 20l/100km to.
0-30 kmh. Real quick.
The fun part is that you're actually allowed to use semi's as A Traktors.
But are you allowed to drive as a 15 year old with Am licenses ?
Nope. A traktor is a different license compared to AM.
The best part? You're still allowed to hook up trailers. As long as you are within the weight limitations.
Its not some of my friends are still 17 with an am license and some of them is driving around with a tractors.
Oh. Maybe I'm wrong then. I thought tractor was a separate thing.
Yeah. Looked it up just now.
You're allowed to.
A tractor is just an very old and outdated name for it they should change it so something else because its a bit confusing it has nothing to do with tractors anymore.
ใ:(
#cars I need a recommendation for a clutch. I have a 94' JDM h22a pushing 8lbs of boost. I need something that can put up with the power, if it can be more street able I would prefer it but it's not necessary. I currently have my eyes on an ACT HA3-SPSS
I would like to stay under $400 if possible but I can go a bit higher
dodge hornet spotted
I'm not surprised.
The current generation has been around for years and years.
And uhh, SUV's sell helluva lot more.
What yall think
๐ฅ
looks pretty nice tbh!
older cars that are properly taken care of look very appealing imo
Thank you!! I agree, this is a 98 forester and with it being my first car im tryna take care of it as much as possible
Many thanks my guy๐ฏ๐ฏ
I got this subaru for free recently, was thinking of welding the center and rear diff and removing the front shafts to convert it to RWD only
its only got like 100hp but in the wet it would be a bit of fun
id keep it for winter but then we wouldnt get any snow
You can also probably just use it as a fun little rally car
Have some fun in a little gravel road somewhere
theres not really anywhere to legally "offroad" here in Scotland, England has green lanes which is nice.
Aw okay
used to be quarries and abandoned rail tunnels but they all got blocked off to cars because no fun allowed
that sucks honestly
So my grandparents' neighbor has a broken down Miata in her garage. Turns out this neighbor is also the mother of my Dad's best friend from highschool, so when she gets rid of it, we'll be the first to be offered the chance to buy it. I have no idea what year or exact model/package it is, just that it's a manual with relatively low miles, and that only a week after buying it, it made a loud noise on the highway and stopped shifting, and had to be towed home where it's sat in a garage for years ever since. No clue what it would be worth without knowing exactly what's wrong with it, but I'm considering it because I've never really had a project car before I can work on to keep myself busy, so as long as it's a good price, I might just get it.
any body got a mercedes benz to show brrrrrrrrr
yo guys
weird question
do yall know where i can find this font or what its called?
sn95 passenger side dash airbag cover
Gotta love rolling up on the scales, and then instantly hearing "We can't take that material. Their company credit score is too low."
That make me curious what was the old one.
If it works dont touch it ๐
Need cv joints on the front badly
Nice! Is it in good shape? But, damn, 20 year old common cars selling for $7k. This market is nuts.
Damn. What kind of a market are we in? Paid 50,000 kr (SEK) (basically $5,000) for my E46 320i, 7 years ago. And that had under 45,000 miles on it.
The car is in great shape, and that was the greatest deal I found
What made you go for an Accord?
Just keep in mind that you're likely still needing to invest a bunch into replacing bushings and suspension parts.
The great part was the person who sold it to me took good care of the car so it feels like itโs 10 years old instead of 20 years
Bushings and everything is still parts that wear, even if the car just sits around. So keep that in mind. Same thing goes for springs and shocks.
i gotta do my ball joints next week bc i cannot stand my steering wheel vibrating on the highway lmao
cleaning a school van and uh
seems a little bit limp
itโs as loose as the blinker/wiper thing

Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction
I did change the thermostat and install new temp sensor
Yeah so that's why I think it's weird
2 luxury cars :^)
but also I have my thermostat removed at the moment.
but the coolant temp hovers around 98c on idle,105c on load
Doesn't stop you from getting a ticket.
Well driving the Charger does though ๐
Can't outrun the radio.
Extremely true. The radio pretty much always wins.
An tasty traffic congestion
I look at old Audis
And wonder what Audi was smoking.
Engine so far forward they had to move the radiator to the side. And the engine just hangs out in front of the front wheels. How do they even vaguely handle
also chaining @brittle totem into this, I was asleep when you guys responded.
It's actually both, Model 3 that I track but the interior was fully re-done from scratch
It's not a track first car, it's my daily. But I take it to the strip and to autocross events whenever I'm able to
I just wanted something different than the boring stock black interior so I had a custom look done up
Next up is coilovers with air cups, upgraded sway bars from UP, big brakes, and new wheels.
picked myself up a new toy ๐ฎโ๐จ
One of my neighbors has a miata with a busted transmission I kinda wanna buy, but apparently some other ppl also want it. Dunno why so many people are fighting over who'll get it but I'll probably have to find something else to buy as a project car
I'm 6'2" so I might not even fit in it anyway lol. That plus all the other people gunning for it might be the universe's way of telling me to look for something else
Miata is one of the most popular roadster after all, not hard to Imagine there are many people want to get their hands on one.
Do you get to keep the warrenty for the parts that you havent replaced on the car ?
Seems like koenigsegg is announcing a new car today can it be their first electric hypercar ?
So Koenigsegg just made a proper manual car but its automatic to if you want to with so they just revamped the Manuel gearbox. Noting else then the greatest from Koenigsegg.
Stay tuned for the Koenigsegg World Premiere, unveiling the latest family member...

So basically best of both worlds a fully manual car that can be operated as an automatic if you want it to. I newer thought that we would se a new hyper car with a manual gearbox.
It's either a 6 speed manual, or a 9 speed automatic? WITCHCRAFT.
Ultimate interior
Yeah how is Koenigsegg pulling of all of this with a suck a "low" budget compared to the other hyper car manufacture. They always has something new for each car they are making witch none other car has had before.
Their engineers are on crack.
Say hello to our newest family member, the Koenigsegg CC850.

Has anyone in here talked about how ugly the electric charger concept is?
I'm a huge fan of electric cars but they were trying too hard to look like everything else coming out in the future
Yeah
I have usb charger behind dashboard and cable sticking out
Well I can understand that, what I don't understand is why so many people are eager to spend $10000 on a miata that needs a new transmission, cracking paint and holes in the top cover, is over 20 years old, with over 200k miles, it's a pennsylvania car so the salt has heavily rusted the underside, and since they left it sitting in a garage for years without taking and of the fluids out there's possibly some rust going on in there as well, when there are significantly better options for less money and in better shape online. If she only wanted $500 for it or something crazy low like that I'd understand but she believes the car is worth just as much today as the day she bought it and nobody is trying to haggle with her. Hence my confusion.
I mean, the only reason I wanted it is because (as stupid as this sounds) I don't like buying cars that are for sale. As soon as I have to play pick-me with whoever else is looking at the car and basically fight someone else to get it, it becomes way less desirable. So I thought since it was so beat up and it belongs to a very socially isolated woman, I'd have a good chance at being the only one who even knew it existed or wanted it. But as soon as her son told us that there are actually a dozen people chomping at the bit to pay exorbitant prices for this car in particular, it made me think 1. what kind of treasure is hidden in the trunk, and 2. I really regret not having gone used car hunting with my dad when he invited me last month because the firebird he found and passed up on now sounds like an infinitely better buy
You sure the son isnโt trying to get you to pay a premium for it?
Itโs best to let it go. There will always be better deals.
That might actually be what's going on. That or he actually wants to keep it for himself and just wants me to back off. Either way, best I leave it alone and look for something else
Yup
bugatti just announced their new car

bugatti continues to only produce ugly hypercars
Im just here to tell you guys I need some SUTUTU!
the audio quality is astonishing

Is it possible to buy a car without a dealer sticker?
like a car max sticker on the back?
If itโs not on there already just tell them not to put it on at least 6 times
we got a new truck and told them not to put a dealer license plate frame on the front a ton of times and they did anyway
maybe it was just a Silverado thing idk but the front license plate stuck out a ton and the license plate frame took a while to take off for some reason
Found this absolute gem of a nsx on mobile.de today with 10.000km
If only I had 130k โฌ tho
as far as I know itโs a track car and not street legal so yeah
My brothers car is like 11 years newer than mine and it's already falling apart
Hyundai quality I guess
w
I did a 2 week internship as a mechanic at a Hyundai Dealership, we had about 5-10 i10s almost always with very low milage but completely broken transmission
I mean the car as a whole is falling apart
also my peugeot 307 has a broken transmission, but it works fine
it's more of inconvenience
They all have almost same interior , hard plastic weird display placement

What is it with chrome wheels coming back in style? They were awful back in the day, they were awful back in the 00's when car companies tried to bring them back, and they're still terrible now when the aftermarket is getting flooded with them.
Also
that's a close call for the fingers
That's why I put bricks or jack stands under
Honestly I hate chrome nowadays.
Every thing chrome looks out of place and cheap.
Also the worst are interior chrome trim pieces.
The peugeot emblem was constantly shining in my eye in certain conditions.
Nah not piano black it just looks cheap and it scratches so easily.
I LOIVE DATSUN!!!!
I disagree, I think it looks awesome
i used to be a fan of black wheels, but honestly unless they have a contract color, they just tend to get lost in the wheel well
piano black will suck dust and fringerprints from around the world
personally I like matte black, but it has same problem that piano black has
the scratches
Yeah Iโm aware, but that wasnโt part of the discussion, I was only ok about the looks

So looking at an electric truckโฆ preordered the Cybertruck, but it seems like they are just gaslighting. And Tesla has quickly become the Apple of the electric vehicle industry. Which would you think is the better choice? Lightning or R1T?? (This will be used as a daily driver as well as hauling the occasional building supplies/furniture, noting crazy)
Ford F150 Lightning
Or you can always wait for the Silverado EV
Or you can drop something like 80k on a Tacoma sized Rivian.
I was told this wasn't an option at all so I had to check. I need the front plate where I live, so that's not a big deal to me. Would it be possible to not accept an ordered car for that or is that just being far too stupid?
The Rivians have some real Tesla level QC issues and a bunch of teething problems with their trucks from what I understand. Like random stuff breaking in the first months.
my 3.0 TDI was pretty solid tbf
My parents haven't hade a single engine or transmission issue yet with their Germen cars. And my brother has owned 5 BMW and none of them has hade a single engine issue at least during his ownership. And they all where more then 10 years old. (BMW 520i 99 E39 BMW 330I E46 2003 BMW 330i 2006 E90 BMW 330I 2007 E92 BMW 325I E91 LCI 2009) And all of them hade more 150,000km some hade way over 250,000km. But they all have hade some smaller issues that needed to be fixed during the time that he owned them.
2.0 TFSI on 2010 Audi A4 have been pretty bad for example ๐
lol i have 1 for audi
my A4 2.0 TDI had the crank shaft(?) iirc go bust because of a failed oil pump
that's more an oil pump issue rather than engine though
mine had 210k km, still ran smooth as hell ๐ my first one had 420k km on it when I finally sent it to the scrap yard ๐ฎ
tbh though
its not even the engines
its the price for the parts
yeah, got to pay for quality and premium!
no thanks ๐
my next car is probably gonna be an Audi A4 1.8TQ, either a B5 or B6
after that I'll get an S4, RS4, A6, S6, or RS6 depending on what I can afford at the time I choose to upgrade
bmw z3 convertible
I don't like BMWs
same
I also don't like small convertible cars
if I could pick any car that'd be mine, I'd pick an Audi RS6 C7
this model
my ultimate dream car ngl
id pick a 1974-76 Bricklin SV-1
its a hatchback
gullwing doors
popup headlights
way too inconvenient for my taste ๐ but I like the old cars, they have much more personality to them
yes
just like the Supra MK4 is unironically one of the nicest, if not nicest, Supras ever made
imo anyway
hype ruinedd the mk4
a little, I agree
but good luck finding one here in Norway ๐
if you do, and it's in good condition, it would cost $100-200k+
i bet once the demand for them goes down they are gonna go ddown to mk3 supra prices
ngl i like the mk3 supras
the reason I like the RS6 C7 is because it's a pretty powerful car, it's nice looking, to the average person it would look like a regular family wagon, and generally quite convenient because it has a decent amount of room to fit stuff
yeah, not too bad those either, just a little too "squary" for my taste I guess
not the right type of "squary" ๐
My dad is currently on his 2nd Passat right know with the 2.0tdi engine. And not any issues yet with the engine on the first on he has from new in 2017 to early 2021 and he drove like 120000km and the the one that he currently has is 2021 that has around 50000km on it right now. And my mom has BMW 225xdrive f45 2015 with over 140,000km and no big issue so far with the engine.
yeah, the oil pump was specifically a weakness of the A4 B7 model cars
same with the 2.0TFSI, the bad ones were specifically for A4 B8 model cars
Isn't the engine the same in Audi a4 as the Passat (EU-spec) ?
not sure, but B7 = 2005-2008 iirc
for the A4 anyway, iirc the Passat uses the same model classification or whatever
Yeah the ones that he has hade is from 2017 and 2021 so probably the same engine as the Audi a4 b9.
could very well be, yeah
pretty much no experience with Passat tbf
it's the budget version of Audi, so wouldn't be surprised if the engine was the same, or at least largely
or rather
Audi is the premium of VW ๐
a Passat is nice though tbf
I also like the Golfs
you pay a lot more for not that much more if you buy an Audi
Yeah but not in reliability (:
Probably one of the best estate for the price you get a lot for you money tech and comfort wise. We where looking on a Audi a4 as an replacement for my dads 2017 Passat but a similar specced one would be like 15k more then a new Passat. But a Cupra formentor our a Cupra leon would have been the best choice for the money but they wait times was like 9 months or more for a brand new one. You can get them for with 310hp engine for the same price as the Passat or an "base" Audi a4 with 200hp engine with quattro.
yeah, I wonder what I will get when I finally buy a car again... I want a A4 1.8TQ, but I'm not sure that's financially will be a viable option
Buy they car that you want no car is good financially anyways some are greater then other but the most impertinent thing is that you like and enjoy the car that you own. The only type of car that is financially good is hyper cars but if you can afford a 3 million $ money should not be a problem anymore.
well, it also isn't ideal to have a car you can't afford to use ๐
That's true when you are buying a car you should always have a bit of an buffer for "unexpected" repairs.
yeah, and insurance and/or loans still leaving enough for gas and food etc ๐

something like this would be nice tbh
would have something to work on as well, get it in proper shape, instead of all this jankyness and crap people like to do with these cars
Yeah food can be expensive specially when you live in Norway. That was a thing that we noticed the most when we where on road trip in Norway this summer. Specially candy it was so much more expensive then in Sweden like twice the price.
yeah, and I'm drowning in debt atm
I like how the shopping centers near the Norwegian border here in Sweden is always full of Norwegian cars and people. Is everything like double the price in Norway or is just food. But the average income in Norway is very high to compared to Sweden so that probably makes up for it to.
yeah, we're just too cheap to buy stuff in our own country ๐
I don't think it's that much cheaper in Sweden tbh, other than candy, tobacco, and alcohol
Maybe it depends on how much you are planning to buy to but most Norwegian drives electric cars nowadays to the fuel cost for extra distance to the Swedish boarder it probably not that much. I think their was some border shopping centers then nearly got bankrupt during peak corona because their was nearly no one their because 90% of the customers is just Norwegian people.
Yeah there were plenty of articles about it being disastrous for Norby ๐
I might be getting a Model 3 with my girlfriend, because itโs pretty good bang for the buck imo
installed new wheels on my jeep yesterday and replaced the vacuum brake booster today๐ฉ
was the booster leaking?
Fantastic A to B car tbh
If i wasnโt into cars iโd have gotten a Model 3
Yeah
Yeah, itโs pretty comfy and very cheap to drive, looks okay too - but very boring compared to the A4 3.0 TDI I had for example ๐
Exactly my thoughts
Looks nice!
Thanks!
Was debating between Model 3 Performance and an M3 F80. M3 was the easy win for me
Yeah and the 3.0 TDI I have isnโt even that exciting in itself ๐ I mean by good margin better than the average car on the road but yeah
Yeah, M3 is probably even faster, maybe not from 0-100, but everything else is nicer I reckon - personally not a fan of it though
Yeah specially in the Norway isn't the prices of a model 3 lower in Norway then they are in the USA ? The cheapest brand new one is 60k here. But my dad will be getting a ev as his next company car after the Passat so it will probably be a Tesla to. But the problem is that Tesla is increasing their prices al the time and the ev budget will be 70k at his company and the the base model y is like 80k now.
Yeah itโs pretty cheap until tax is added on EVs as well
When the came out in Sweden the fully loaded model y performance was less then 80k and now the base one is 80k over here just 11 months later.
Weโre adding VAT to cars starting next year
Everything above 500k NOK will be taxed at 25%
So a car at 600k NOK would cost 625k NOK after VAT
They keep changed the tax rules for evs here in Sweden all the time so you newer no how much you will get back from the government when the car arrives. So its like a gamble over here some people has missed out on 7k only because the government felt like changing the taxes on evs for no reason.
So ideally Iโd want to get an EV now
That's some quality quick maths ๐
500k -> 625k probably
Quite sure I got it right ๐ฎ everything after 500k will be taxed, so 100k would get 25% tax
Assuming the car costs 600k
AAAAAAAAAH so only the value above 500k gets taxed
Right, thought you meant if the car is above 500k the entire thing gets 25% tax
At least until 2024 that is, after then who knows
In Sweden they just changed it so if the car base price is over 700,000SEK you wont get that 70,000SEK back. So you can buy a car that is starting at like 699,990SEK and then add a lot of options and still get that money back. But they will probably change the rules in like a week again as always. But we will most likely switch government in September so the tax rules while probably be completely different then.
But will you be fine as long as you have ordered the car before that our do you need to take delivery before the new rules to avoid them?
I'm quite curious... My cousin bought/ordered an MG Marvel R, and we have a government grant of โฌ3350 for cars under 45k. The MG was at the time of ordering 44995. However, it hasn't arrived yet, and the current price is 45995, which should also be the price registered on his license plate, which would make it not eligible for the government grant. Curious to see whether he gets it or not
๐ค
Think itโs a matter of when you placed the order
Here in Sweden its rules that are in place at the time you taking delivery and not when you order it so you newer now because they like to change their minds all the time about evs over here.
Not sure though
Maybe that is great thing to look up before ordering it. If you are planning to do so.
Yeah so if I understand our terms and conditions correctly, it's based on the retail value registered on the license plate of the vehicle here, which is determined at registration so just before taking delivery of the car. The current retail value is 45995, which is over 45000, meaning it isn't eligible for the grant
If I understand the terms and conditions correctly
Can you even get a decent ev for under 45000$ in the Netherlands or otherwise that price cap seems to very low. Here in Sweden you need to pay around 55000$ to get a decent ev or maybe even more then that.
Stuff like the Twingo EV, Dacia Spring, Corsa-e, e-2008, Mokka-e, e-208, e-C4, MG ZS EV, MG 5 EV, MG Marvel R...
Ngl if you can afford a car of 50+k you don't really need a grant tbh
Ah Kia Niro EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, base model EV6 are also <45k
But currently there are bigger problems in NL than some "rich" people getting an EV, like millions of households not being able to afford electricity/gas for their homes
Yeah if you can afford ice car that is over 50k but an ev is a bit of different story. Because they hold their value a lot better then ice car and the running cost is way lower to witch means that the total cost of owner ship will be way lower on ev so that the "government" is helping you with can make an ev more reasonable for more people to own a ev. But it all depends on how much you are driving to. One of my Friends dad got a Model y because it would be cheaper to own then keeping his 2014 Volvo v70 d4 that he hade before. But he drives like 40,000km a year to. And diesel is very expensive over here to.
If its just to get them over a hump then a zero interest loan or some shite instead of a grant
and they can pay it back with what they save on running costs
Well if the TCO is already lower, why the need to subsidize a luxury product even more ๐
But yeah a co-worker got a new Corsa-e as it's cheaper than the 2011 Agila he had before
Better system imho
Currently the TCO is also way cheaper as they pay 0 tax on basically anything
Ngl I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing a BEV outright atm, I'd go for lease even tho I hate lease ๐ But the future of EV's is still unknown in what both governments will do, but also future technologies (e.g. solid state batteries). Those will have a high impact on future resale prices
Yeah but choosing to purchasing a brand new "normal" ice car is probably the worst financially thing you can do right now because they depreciation will only get worse for each year. Yeah leasing is probably a good idea specially on the cars with a lower range like less then 300km. I think the best deal you could have done on ev here in Sweden was when mg zs ev came out and you could lease it for starting cost of 195$ a month for 10000km each year and for 15000km each year it was like 250$ a month which is such a great deal specially for 2nd car that you wont need as much range and fast charging.
Yeah no you're right, I wouldn't really recommend purchasing a brand new ICE currently either. Lease could still be valid, as the costs are known up front, or you buy it with the intention of driving it for many years/decades until it's undrivable anymore, basically excepting a depreciation to 0.
Hell, we usually purchase a "new" car when cars reach ~150k km, but both cars have exceeded that and we're not planning on changing them out any time soon. Even used cars are crazy expensive, and modern cars have gotten so good they basically still drive as new, and can probably double or triple their mileage. So we'll probably drive them until they can't anymore, or EV becomes a viable used option for us
The biggest problem thst i see with evs right now is for the People living in apartments in big cities thst doent have a parkeing garage or any place to ac charge the car during the night. For People living in regular houses that wont be a problem at all and over night charging is one of the best things with evs right now. Becuse you can always wake to a "fully" charged car so no time wasted at a gas station after work.
Yeah but charging millions of cars overnight is also not viable for our infrastructure. Imho, it should be mandated by workplaces to provide chargers, so cars can be charged by excessive electricity generated by solar panels during the day
That will also result in many people in apartments not needing to charge "at home" as they can often perfectly commute a round trip + additional trips on a single charge
And, ofc, installing public charge which fine you of you stay too long
Just bought a hardtop for my Miata
F for your future repair bill
All in all i think CVTs are cool but they just aren't entirely ready
Toyota came out with a CVT that had a whole first gear for the main issue
Which is slippage
Which leads to burning it all up
People worrying about depreciation are funny. You shouldn't be buying a car in anticipation to sell it
It's a step above people who act like cars are an investment. They're not
theyโre an investment thatโs pretty much guaranteed to go down in value lol
You know what could world?
CVT with a electric motor for <50 kmh.
So that first gear is essentially just done on electric.
I know some hybrids do basically that, but then the CVT is a planetary gear
Maybe not all the way up to 50km/h
yeah, of course ๐ probably not gonna be ordering before the VAT is in place anyway
like the 675lt much?
That's the 765LT.
WHats a chrion
1,500 hp Bugatti
shit thats what I meant
? Im confuzzled
Chiron is a model from Bugatti.
Looks like it's the Supersport trim, too?
i just like the sound of aud more than my currewncy bc its 10x more than mine lol so youe saying that, that car is 100,000,000?
Where are you from?
RSA
Ok lol
Im from south africa
lol
llol ya
yes but its so gawdamm colddd
its like 17C
iM FREEZING SO BADLY
When it comes to Bugatti, then it's not if you have one or not.
It's have one, and Yacht.
ooooo an enzo
Can the Bugatti Chiron 300+ even hit 300mph at all ? Didn't Bugatti do the 300mph run with a modified test car or something like that ?
With that kind of car you can't even go drag day in most places as you have to get different license/permit and have certain safety modification if your car is too powerful, you either rent the whole track or build your own if you want to go anywhere near what it could do
Or go 60mph on highway behind the guy with a 2002 civic like everyone else if that is street legal
But I highly doubt anyone buy such a car for that
For it to hit that speed they had to wait for the right wind speeds etc etc They had a entire team to ensure everything was perfectly set up in the car like the tire pressure etc and they did it on a huge closed track. You wont be able to hit those speeds in a real life scenario.
So it newer gor a the calimed top speed tested? So does that mean that the Koenigsegg agera rs still has the highest offcial top speed ?
Not sure about that.
@rotund mason can we talk for two mins? Just to clear a misunderstanding regarding me leaving the server

200mph?
Popup headlights ๐
mfw miata
chad
tbh the asthetic people ruined it
miatas are one of those cars that look better stock
i mean under the hood stuff is fine but stancing it and shit ruins it
E30 life
i just dislike them
weird little bug car
tbh i really like miatas
lol miata aren't that bad, even the very early versions (30+ years ago) can do 0-60 mph in 8-9 sec unless you and your partner adds 300kg on it.
(really low bar in today standard but they aren't that bad.
Dunno... Those early early Miatas were pretty gutless
exactly
what do you all know about cold air intakes for a normal car? Just so I can get a little more power and a little better mpg
maybe itโs not even worth it depending on how expensive it is idk
put a short ram intake on my car, felt barely any difference but it makes more noise
Maybe but its never completed the official run and what I have heard the tested it with a non production modified Chiron and not the standard 300+ that customers can buy.
a 60+ year old small woman worker at my internship had an exact one like this, these cars are aweome
My 2000 dakota is faster than that
It is not a fast car after all (even the new model are around 6sec 60mhp 0-60, mediocre at best), but neither were as terrible as some people describe I guess.
Sure people will fly pass you if they wish, but you just stick to 60 mhp, take your time to enjoy the miata because you aren't hurry A to B when you jump into it, you are riding it because you want to riding it.
6 second 0-60 is mediocre? lol
to be fair, it is for sports cars
is the miata even a sports car
yes, it is
the new one is pretty cool actually, you need to not look at it at a surface level
they are all just cars
i really want to get an NC
i kinda of gaveup on the NA after i realized all the sad bois are buying all of them
nc is just the nb but good
Miata funny tic tac car haha
nd
the new one is just, genuinely solid, maybe even the closest to the NA interms of driving tbh
Think about doing a rotor replacement with the next set of pads.
I mean, a miata with fender flares, and a track focused aero kit looks cool.
If it is a 2 ton SUV that is quite impressive but for a 1 ton roadster that is mediocre at best :p
Yeah the spec pretty much already set the use case for you.
You take your time and have fun, time fly pass but your car won't
Having fun is most important isn't it
what makes more noise? the exhaust or the engine itself?
idk how that would work
Should have painted your discs while you were in there
Induction noise
One of the previous toerags that owned my subaru put a stupid pod filter on it. I must admit it does sound nice.
yeah
Miss my odometer and speedo
I am not going to miss disconnecting the battery
Thinking of selling my subaru and saab to replace with an E39
Seeing my friends with german cars just being able to order parts is wild
Ive wanted a e39 or e34 for a while just put off by the bmw insurance prices
Prius>>>bmw
lol, they are totally different things.
But you definitely shouldn't get a BMW if you don't have that money to burn, keeping a 20 years old BMW aren't going to be cheap.
My daily driver is 36 years old : )
An E39 isnt really going to be much worse than any of my other cars
bonus if I dont have to change the engine in it
Looks like you fully aware of the cost then it is fine :p
Many people think old BMW are cheap but unaware they will spend more on upkeep than the market price in few years.
preferably I can get an absolutely rotten and hanging touring to weld up a bit then paint with a brush
good condition I can also live with
the exhaust definitely i have a loud exhaust on my car lol
first is intake only second is intake and exhaust
phone doesnโt pick it up that well
I really can't handle the steelies + that exhaust
wheels are expensive ok :(
craigslist is letting me down with the rpf1โs
Get some Mugen GP wheels
I mean, they look great

I never see that bodystyle Civic here, they were only sold as a Hybrid here, and while they sold quite well the hybrid system was shite so not many are left
All batteries died
i donโt like the hybrid this one gets good enough mpg and itโs a manual
Prius >>>>> Bugatti
SO I got a call from a mechanic
and they tell me or a waterpump or headgasket
It would be weird with head gasket since I had no signs of it being blown
where are you located
Scotland
Ah ok - I am in the uS
so "just ordering parts" for BMWs is really only possible with like 5 year old cars
after that, its all specialty places/stuff
I like old forgotten peugeots but they are just so unsupported compared to german brands
For a lot of my builds lately I am refurbing w/ OE parts, so getting a brakeline or fuel line means ordering thru the dealer who orders from germany
Friend with his old W124 can get anything from mercedes
yeah you can get most things for BMW if you go to BMW
maintenance stuff is obviously cheaper from 3rd party
Though it has started to get to the point where I needed the fuel pumps for my E30 and it was cheaper, for me, to retro fit a single in tank
Had to make bushing moulds for the rear end of my poojo 305
french brands just generally arent great with supporting their classics
Right - meanwhile no one wants OE bushings in BMW land lol
Like they're available, but they fail and so most people go aftermarket
sadly theres neither for me heh
like 20 on the road in the UK no market for anything
E34s and E30s
E30 has TON of things available
E34 is either an E31/E32 retrofit or completely custom
At meet ups I still get asked "Yo wow what turbo kit is that?" ๐คฃ
Had to pay ยฃ50 for a sway bar link some random guy had old stock of ๐ฟ
rear shocks also are unobtanium but I got some old stock "towing upgrades"
atleast you can just buy it rather than having to phone 10 people
I imagine most suspension components are available
Not if you have leveling
ah but you can work around it by downgrading
Which costs like $2,000 lol
Its almost as expensive to delete as to repair
There are many weird oddities too - like god forbid you have a semi special model
Like a 540i M sport
where there may be a special sway bar or damper or something
I know someone with a ropey AF E39 540i manual
shame the steering is worse on them
I am hot/cold on the E39
well that's the other thing
E39 6 cyl were rack and pinion
V8s were box
all E34s were box
id prefer an E34 but moneys money and I really should get a diesel but : ^|
So hard to find non rust shit box E34s
thankfully I "prefer" rusty cars
I just replace all steel lines now dont trust them, had one rust through on the 305 in a hidden position
yeah
Prob is euro bubble flare
mhm, I used to make them with a cheap ยฃ10 wrong tool
double or bubble?
double tool making a bubble heh
oof no
I bought the proper tool recently as it was too annoying to get right
yep
so I had such a hard time doing bubbles that I ended up buying OE bubble lines, cutting, and splicing double
I wouldnt actually repair the rust I just have to get them through an inspection heh
they failed my car for having 2 big holes in the boot recently, snobs
lol
LOL
horn was working the day before
wheezed its soul out when the tester tried it
this was where the seats mounted, I kept the right side bit with 2 holes as a souvenir
my pulse is going up
friends cars are worse, they absolutely tank MOTs
i wish we had a more comprehensive inspection here
That is the output for your vehicle?
Either way that's actual output
yeah
you can nose in on any car here https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
that is amazing
by the freaking plate!?
wow
you need VIN here and to pay
And you won't find any MOT, just inspection dates
NGX 840W is his plate
Talking brakes has me wanting to buy this
buy a car with that money
this was my main car but ive put it to the side till I can be bothered to fit the new rear beam
I'd just box that
was tapped with a angle grinder to weld a "crack"
ive left it too late so the wheel on the left side has mega camber
its God saying FWD sucks
I have another beam im just out of energy after swapping the engine in my other car after its engine got diesel runaway
diesel runaway on a non turbo engine my luck
how is that even possible
headgasket or rings pressurising crankcase shooting oil up breather
I think its rings
I had an HG fail like that on gasoline
blew the fire ring into the valley
blowing air out the pushrod hole in the head pressurizing the crank case
that's kind of amazing
I just looked in my mirror saw an almighty smoke cloud let off and the car was still pulling
oof
I went from a 50hp 1.8 to like a 55hp 1.9 mega upgrade!
rollin coal
lol
id like a 55hp lawnmower
I have a 24HP lawnmower
pulley swap : )
brap brap
I prefer unpowered cars as it stops me getting into any trouble
I'm too used to sports cars, drove my grandmother's jeep recently and was thrown off by its atrocious acceleration
I still overtake people in them. slowly
I only overtake people spinning tire in 4th
Even then, her Jeep's 172 HP, not 55
My daily driver though is 580 hp, so 172 still feels super sluggish
My saab has 130hp and I end up getting up to license deleted speeds to easily with it
You should see what you can do with 900 rwhp
I have a 300hp engine for my saab but im like, whats the point
aygo race
I put an S50 in my e30
not the quickest swap
but considering the car is like 2500 lbs...
240 bhp
and then putting a supercharger on it for good measure
I wanted to put like a merc SLK supercharger on my engine for a laugh
I have an Alpina B7-esque supercharger
all the sound none of the go
yeah roots blowers that size are kinda meh
The new daily driver, as seen in previous videos...Now sporting a DW8, which got blown a little quicker than I intended!
Sorry for misty film, the cold weather has been causing some issues with the camera!
Thanks for watching.
lol the noise
even the tuner is like "I don't care" as he works the first few gears reading a book
85hp!
mhm
Guessing not stock?
Can't think of much that's that high stock
lol cmon
There's some cars that are, but not many
That's kind of where I am at in life though
just for the fun of it
I didn't have an appropriate fuel pump or fuel injector for my E30 swap so I put in a spare walbro 255HP pump and injector dynamics 2000cc/min lol
Id like to convert a car to RWD but thats pushing the boundaries of our legal system
well itd be legal id just not be able to insure it properly thus illegal
I might not go much faster with 580 hp than you do with 130 on a regular basis, but fast acceleration's still fun
sub-3 0-60's just more fun than 7-10 second 0-60
This car is a '92 525i with an M50 motor with 0.020" Wiseco Pistons, 8.5:1 compression, eagle rods, and an M52 crankshaft. It is running a T4 PT76GTS turbo @ 28 - 29 psi in this video and 93 octane lukoil pump fuel with 50:50 water/methanol from an Aquamist HFS-6 for 685.9 RWHP.
street tune strapped to dyno on 93 pump
I know a few people with "proper" cars but they pour so much money into them
What are "proper" cars?
properly modified
Obviously the RPM sensor fell off, but she was still climbing on a slipping clutch
was a 4th gear pull with a 3.23:1 rear end so like 4000 rpm - 6900 rpm represents the 110 - 150
Revs to 7800
reminds me ive had a slipping clutch for like 6000 miles but the whopping 130hp hasnt totally roasted it yet
id like to bring this back to the road
Don't.
but look at it
right
it's pleading
If you turn your speakers up you can hear it whisper, "kill me please"
theres a car hoarder I went to this weekend who has a bunch of 305s sitting in overgrowth I could use but hes very hard to deal with
my friend was trying to get him to sell a windscreen off a pickup that the rear of has totally rotten away and disappeared
successful, not
hoarders are not to be dealt with
everything is $1000
and "not for sale"
why am I even here
hoarder
friend has bought entire cars
but theres a T boned 305 top spec GTX (side caved into the middle literally) but he wont let anyone take parts as its "complete"
completely hooped and being reclaimed by nature
makes no sense
its totally overgrown now, stuff still gets added to it. theres some 2005 cars there
I meant like what part of the car gets louder when you put on a cold air intake
1997 Honda Civic Coupe 5MT
Current engine: D16Y7 SOHC
Planned Engine: K24 with, K20 Head
Can go up too 400hp with current transmission
How would this be
I bet I can build a faster Honda with less hp than you. But I'm not gonna because we are in a gas crisis
Rivain R1T or Tesla Model X
I have no idea of Rivian reliability
Assuming it is reliable R1T would be no-brainer
But I think I would lean towards R1S a little more.
Neither
idk if you were serious in saying this, but that may have been the cringiest sentence i have read about hondas
nah the worst would be. my 1989 civic with a b series swap and a ebay turbo will beat your scatpack
bruh
also, scatpack is bruh too
if you wanted a yacth, buy a yacth
lol
apperantly theres some sort of emission settlement with porsche
Which is better civic or Corolla
1999 suzuki grand vitara
TBH unless you only drive on dragstrip, the HP or 0-60 aren't the only things you should look at.
As an unbiased Corolla owner I'd say Corolla.
I wasn't a huge fan of the last gen Civic tho. Maybe this gen is that much better.
get a pontiac vibe. basically a corolla hatchback that doesnt have the toyota tax like the toyota matrix
I like my 2019 hatch.
I can't spell the actual name
Excellent car.
1958 apache pickup truck
thinking about getting a rolla xrs
If you don't mind potential oiling issues and no torque, go for it.
Not oil draining
oil pump going boom.
never had that issue
even reving it at 8500 all the time xD
okay
and realistically any high reving engine will not have low end torque
8th gen Si was decent enough on low end torque
yet to drive one. kinda wana get one before they skyrocket in price.
same
like the em1
But at this moment in time I'm making my E210 XSE work and the outback.
oddly i remember back in 06 when i was 6-7 i remember seeing one and thought it was a cool looking car
Subaru has more than enough power for my uses
I ended up with a 3.6R
For the one generation they made it with the bigger engine and the 5 speed auto
i like mine
what porsche?
06' 911
HG?
headgaskets
wish i kept my 99 outback 5mt. shit was a tank
they are ok, im not a fan of the headlights
Or shattered transmissions
ahh
Just a bit of hail damage
could change them
with some creativity you can slap the 987 front on it tho
could
these earlier new edge Porsches are actually quite reliable once they've been serviced properly
and yes the IMS issue goes into that serviced properly
that is a massive fatal flaw
oh?
since the boxster s is sorta expensive
ah
pre 00 had dual row ims bearings and had less failures
is the price difference really that big?
nomrally i can get a nice base for 7-11k and the boxster s is 5k more
lol you can actually stick a 997 front end to it too
didnt know that
hmm, i mean IMS bearing fix works
I don't know much about cars, so my info here is worth nothing
also expensive.
i didnt really bother because mine is an 06, and it has the M96.5 engine
which was the gen they fixed it in from factory
what got me into porsches was my buddies 06? cayman
yea those things are like actually fun
and he had the S
the 06 cayman is basically my car but less powerful and more barebones
ooo
i would sell my 911 for that if i actually get money for it
probably a 2012 model or an earlier one
as i personally think the r-tronic gear is cooler
although it does eat clutches for lunch
damn
yea before i even consider buying one i would need to have like 80K in the bank for maintenance and cars cost ontop of the sale price of my 911
yea lol
Car.exe
Tony stark vibes
lul
They have replaced the 40 year old busses with brand new electric Spanish busses
All i gotta say r8 in german is r acht, "racht" is pretty much the Bavarian pronunciation of smoking and audi is bavarian, sounds fishy to me
its cus it's smoking hot obv
So am i ๐

CAF?
Solaris
Well, technically it's manufactured in Poland by polish part of Solaris but company is owned by by Spanish
Solaris is owned by CAF.
Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles
Live in luxury, or despair.
heh
Id love to get one just to see how long I could keep it going on a strict budget, but while they are super cheap last I checked they are mega for insurance
surely europe has a like 1.4L diesel version
alot of the later 7 series about are diesel
well there isnt that many 7 series about but most are diesel
this ones a 740i vee 8
The smart option for me is a diesel E39 but might be wild and get a petrol
May get a car trailer in the future so id like to have something which can tow that sanely
Well I was looking at BMW's then someone has to offer me a citroen XM for ยฃ500
Will this be the feature instead of charging your car you can do a battery swap that now takes around 5 mins but will probably be even faster in the feature. And the the time that it takes it to travel 1000km is the same as kia ceed phev. So 15 min faster then a Tesla. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ResuBGtVjg

seems cool but extremely expensive to build mass amounts of them

E30 S50 swap with new circuitry in the gauge cluster to prevent it from draining the battery dead again as well as a 7000 RPM tach and a repaired odometer gear set as well as a 20 amp circuit and dedicated relay for the fuel pump retrofit while triggered off the ECU fuel pump output
I'm going to guess that "cheap", "electric" and "comma gold" aren't terms that go together?
Not a full scale car, but what do you think about the paint job?
Question: Are Nissan Altimas really that bad? People online keep on complaing aboht the CVT engine and whatnot and to avoid it in leu of the Accord or Camry
doubt that will be it tbh, at least not unless something drastically changes... with today's tech, that's gonna be a nightmare on a large scale tbh
Nissan had a severe dip in quality about a decade ago.
Their CVTs were infamous for blowing up, and the engines were recalled for timing chain guides... so that was also a boom. Didn't help that Nissan would sell to people who didn't care to maintain their cars.
If you can wing an Accord or Camry you're more likely to have it long term.
Tho Accord has also moved to a CVT for the base engine so ymmv
Another decent choice imo would be the Ford Fusion.
@dense shard Don't american cars suck though? Or is that a bad stereotype that doesnt apply to ford fusions
Ford Fusion has been around long enough at this point to have all the kinks worked out.
Do avoid the Focus and Fiesta. Specifically the automatics. The dual clutch transmissions might be worse than a Nissan CVT
Or you can get the spicy version with AWD and a higher power engine
What about Hatchbacks?
Appearently it is discontinuing production, being retired
We used to have the XM wagon as a family car before when I was a kid.
Seems to be a big thing in china already but we will se how good it will really work in the feuture.
But how will it handy dirty or snowy better packs during winter. That one thing i am wondering. Is there som sort of battery cleaing in their ?
I remember debating it with a friend of mine, because I came to think of this idea before it was a thing in media ๐ thought it sounded really smart, canโt recall what exactly we ended up on in details, but I remember him and I agreeing it wasnโt really all that ideal to do this on a large scale and it being convenient
Is this actually a real Norwegian websites for electric cars for kids or is just a joke ?. And who decided that this was good website design to convince people to buy from them. https://arngren.net/
elbil, elatv, el-atv, atv, robot, mercedes barn, elbil til barn, el-bil til barn, drone, elsykkel, el-sykkel, el scooter, elscooter, el-scooter, rc helikopter, rc bil, rc fly, rc produkter
I think that the concept sounds good but in reality it wont be that good. How till it handle dirty and wet battery packs and stuff like that. It will probably just lead to more problems. Imagine buying a brand new Nio then do a battery swap on a swap station and get a battery that has already done over 100000km in your brand new car.
Id have just thrown on a isolator switch and lived with it
Ive always wanted a wagon BX or XM but im too cheap to be picky
It is Swedish
Atleast the screenshot
It auto translated to swedish. But the wrbsite is norwegian.
I doubt if you can ever do much better than 5 min because these are all physical works, you will need extra protection if you want to push any faster the cost can scale fast.
Given 5 min are quite bearable already, they won't have a lot of reason to push it even further (over building more).
Also hydrogen battery are pretty promising, maybe eventually we still go to fuel gas, just not the same gas we used to use.
@stoic ledge it turns out it's the head
i30 was a bit worse than expected
I was replacing my friends Vtech actuator, and I had a 12oz bottle of happiness. I somehow striped everything I touched... anyone know what I can do?
I think soon they'll let me now if it's both
I can't say they were ever top of the line but they definitely used to be a lot better in the past
it's a problem because they paid me too little in my previous job and I need a car to get anything
Now it's computerized plastic that's always broken
should have fixed my focus
the head went on that car
that was inevitable.
no matter if I got a good one or dicided to fix the original one
I would have to redo valves on any of them
and LPG expired
Yeah the worst I've had is maybe a starter or fuel pump here and there
On my old stuff
Nothing that bad
That's nuts
Yikes F
But it drives normal otherwise? That's strange
No white smoke, no weird smells.
Engine runs like a clock, it only overheats
I have no idea how the head could contribute to that
apparently it might be that compression leaks in to cooling system
Hmmm then a gasket would fix it I'd expect
I just hope at this point
if I find out the radiator was too small I'll be very mad
RIP
it's legit a thing lol
funny you mentioning that, I linked it to a coworker of mine earlier today xD
topic was UX, so I just linked that site hahah
yeah, and imagine the nightmare of having all the car manufacturers follow one standard lol, we can't even do that for mobiles and laptops
But are People actully using it to buy stuff ? i would never have trusted a website that looks like that in 2022. And how is that a good bussines strategy at all ? And who deisgned it most have been the ceo 3 year old kid or something like that.
I have no clue honestly
it's a one man operation afaik, and the numbers on the company don't look too good tbf ๐
But if that thing is profitabel i have no words. And what do they even sell it looks like a norwegian version av wish but for cheap vechles but with a website design from the late 90s.
it was couple years ago xD
50k profit
NOK that is
But how and what are the doing are the actually selling products or is just advertising buy why would anyone pay for adverting on that site.
I do not recommend putting a lawn mower engine in a car guys my brothers Camry only goes 34 after 30ish seconds
Yea but its unique
it needs turbochargers
to go faster
everything needs a turbo
Ik there a tt but is there quad turbo?
honda cr-v has stock turbo to help it go faster as it only has a 4 cylinder engine
2 turbos 1 supercharger and fuck it throw some no2 in there
The lawn mower engine im using I pulled it off a Honda itโs a one cylinder
LOL
THOSE ARE LIKE GO KART ENGINES
Yes
Also I love your name Iโm just more into the 1970 Datsuns
they're all great cars
How much is there a quad turbo somewhere
idk search up "turbo kit for honda lawnmower" on ebay or smth idk
Yes I love the facia of the 1970 240z
I donโt thing there is turbo kits for mowers from 1998
my gpu was slow so i turbocharged it
Some guy on tik tok made a turbocharged shopping cart
but fr tho
That thing has a lawnmower engine
try finding the exact model of your engine
Is his lawn mower engin from a Honda mower from 1998
then do "(engine name) turbo kit"
Idk I deleted tiktok
I donโt have TikTok
is that a clock thing?
no its a song by kesha
I think is a app white girls drinking pure coffee creamer use
bro tbh
i used to make coffe so strong i deadass couldnt use milk
it had to be all creamer or it tasted like shit
why you gotta make it about color
I canโt do creamer it has bad tast
Because it is
FIAT is equipped with lawnmower engines
Spijker D12 SSUV Peking to Paris
I'm not 10 years old so I just moved off
I used to drive ford unfocus if I took my glasses off
A ride on mower or a regular lawn mower engine? Cause you would make 0 gains turbo charging a engine like that lol
It is possible though just for a laugh
