I did my first track day during covid restrictions, so we did lead/follow setup. The instructor had similar tires, it down poured for thankfully just the last 10 minutes of the day, and finally my all weather DWS tires made me the fastest on the track for the only time that day. The instructor was a demon maintaining control but there are limits.

Batteries chassis is made out of carbon fibre produced by the F1 division. I have a friend who knows how to weld, and he made the chassis back then and put a .5 HP motor on it
I found it in his backyard and asked if I could fix it up,
So I put a 3 HP motor on it, put on a new umbrella, rewired the system to use 24 volts instead of 12 and touched up the rust all over it.
It does 36.2 miles an hour and the cooler is 100% functional.

And the everything felt way more premium theb i thought it would be. It way better then the model 3 that we tested 3 years ago in that car the qualty was not to close to the level of the new ones.

The second problem is it uses WLTP range which is about ~80% accurate in real world conditions. So in reality, it most likely is lower than “70 miles” of range. So it’s range of 190 miles of WLTP is probably closer to 140 or even less.
Lastly, it is using LFP batteries, while they have come along way… I would like to see a tear down before I feel confident in their 3,000 charge cycle claim. That’s a massive claim. Most lithium batteries are claimed at like 1,000 if I recall correctly, which is a huge feat. Some now do 1,500+. But I’m not current on all numbers but I think I’m in the ball park.
Oh, that, $5-$10 per week was when I was driving about 15k miles per year. Now it is much less since moving and going remote. Now I pay like $2-$5 per week.

The Regera uses direct drive and a beefed up torque converter. Once you reach 50 kmh, then the differential is essentially directly connected to the engine.

Or direct drive like @lone fern mentioned, but my tire already does 2m/rev, so 7000rpm = 14km/m = 840km/h

It was supported by a few motors tho, the ICE would have hard time to give the torque on all speed alone.
Their plan seems like with a group of motors and a powerful ICE to give torque on a wide range of rev so you don't need to worry about gears.
