Windows 11 has a start menu but it works a lot better

At this point windows is only used for gaming for me. And I could probably switch to Linux immediately if I do wished. I use my iPad mini more for computer stuff personally

I just removed it because the search functionality was in both menus

Never seen lock screen ads on my phone, and don't expect I ever will

Interestingly, Google isn't the super intrusive one with ads though in the mobile scene

I’ve switched to Apple for this gen. But some things are quite annoying so I’ve considered switching back. But no good compact android phones exist and the lock screen ads news is concerning

Was able to disable it there

I'd be fine with it on cheap phones, if it was a way to subsidize the cost of the hardware

But not on flagships

but like if a $100-200 phone came with higher end specs

but had ads to offset the savings, I'd consider that reasonable
