In terms of hardware, both Prusa and Bambu are absolutely fantastic
The reason people praise Bambu so much, however, is due to their software more than anything
They have a really seamless ecosystem with their slicer, app etc.
But honestly, that's about it
My lab has 5 Bambu lab printers (H2C, X1C, P1S, A1, A1 Mini), and they all still eventually suffer hardware issues

But honestly, you can get a fairly similar software experience with things like Orca + OctoEverywhere on something like a Qidi printer

But yeah, not a fan of what Bambu has been doing in regards to open source the past few weeks

Last I checked, not yet. I believe it's 256kbps AAC, which can be better than MP3, but it also largely depends on how each song is mastered too. Content mastered after the "loudness wars" of the 1980's generally doesn't sound as warm / open / inviting as today's music.

With today's tech, I believe everyone is capable of learning how to produce a great record on a budget (compared to the cost of a studio session) but you need a lot of time and self-discipline to do this. You're right that record deals are often predatory and very costly, but on the other hand, you're usually getting access to industry experts that save you the time and experience you otherwise don't have. I guess I just wish more people would read what they're signing before they sign, really. 😅
