Today, I inserted a part into a pipe route. Before that command resolved, Solidworks decided to call a message box to ask about a mate which is not at all relevant to the current operation.

Why is it that whenever I try to look into new peripherals for me there is something that complicates the matter.

• Mouse? I want more extra buttons than the standard 2 or 3 but i don't want a million like an mmo mouse. My current mouse has been discontinued (G604) so I'm babying the hell out of it.
• Keyboard? I HATE the sound everyone gushes about mechanicals for (yea, I'm autistic with sensory issues, how'd you know?). I also want a full size keyboard, and don't want it to be too thick meaning I'd need a low-profile or ultra-low-profile. Options that meet those requirements start at like $180 (last I checked) and I ain't about to drop that on something I might not like, especially if it's not easy to return bc I'm a broke college student. So I'm sticking with cheap membranes for now ig.
• And the current issue: Headphones! I have a huge ass head and huge ass ears so it's difficult to find a pair that doesn't feel like my head is being squeezed like a lemon, and doesn't feel like they are trying to turn my ears into a pancake. I also don't want Bluetooth, only USB or 3.5mm jack. And I wouldn't want to spend more than $130 (and that's pushing it, really more like $80) on a pair, so I'm stuck using my old Turtle Beaches (Recon 500, also since discontinued... I think?) that have been superglued back together 2 or 3 times already.

The only perif I DON'T have an issue with are monitors...

the gen2s can be used passively apparently, though.

it actually does make sense, an amp in the headphones could enable much better sound and doing it this way keeps the cost down. the thing is that most who would know that aren't shopping at that pricepoint and the people who are shopping at that price point will look at the fact that they need to be charged and be really confused and then turned away; hence why I think they are being phased out (based on the fact that they aren't featured on their amazon page)

If it’s for small use like a basic plex and storage I’d probably just buy a minipc. It’s pretty cheap, plenty powerful. Can add storage inside and usually via an external enclosure if need be. It’s also very energy efficient and can be tucked away in a small corner next to the router.

An old pc works great too. Less energy efficient but tons of flexibility and therefore storage and space.

It’s a bit of a bad timing with ram if you don’t already have any.

If you’re lazy just get a nas. Not a synology never a synology but another company. I’ve heard good things about ugreen but I haven’t used it.
