I'm of the consensus Intel is now the ones lacking

I never really liked the way amd shifted gears and included igpus tho

There's... Not much to be said when it comes to cpus, as that side of market was strangely segmented place with low movement in deviation.

If we talked the RISC cpu market specifically, then there'd be more to present, but with old x86, it's always just been those two and then one straggler in their own universe (Zhaoxin after buying out VIA) pretty much.

In fact, it's mostly Apple who pushed for igpus more in the first place when they used to be Intel's customer.

And then AMD took it up in stride, especially after Sony and Microsoft approached them for console apus.

Then it just... Took off somewhat some time in and it was mostly AMD who shot ahead, since they had the more mature gpu arch to work with (Radeon).

They ended up basically proving it was possible to make igpus that were good enough to be a better solution for having dgpus in builds and systems that don't need one and still be very performant and efficient.
Intel eventually came back harder (Panther Lake has a way better igpu than Strix Point now), though it is still just between them anyway.

Intel is fairly competitive on price for productivity on mid-range parts and for certain workloads even on the high end consumer CPUs. HEDT though, AMD TR absolutely stomps Xeon W

Big-Little has given them a very odd situation because of how they keep trying to improve their core arches, but it doesn't change the fact they have basically Atom cores now starting to encroach on the performance and efficiency of their big cores.
What's funny is their roadmap literally will go back to them having just one core arch and it'll more than likely just be a massively-upgraded E-core type to balance both jobs of P and E before it.

Which by then, AMD would probably still end up putting out Zen 7, in which they would have already reached the core density of a C-core only ccd with the same cache sizes, while using die stacking to move the L3 cache in it's entirety to another die layer.

And they already have the "sea of wires" to get past the communication pathway challenges between chiplet dies as standard for all their cpus going forwards then, so Intel still will have to play their cards right with their future cpu designs.

consoles dont need to reach 240 fps, they target 60fps, and they target that for a reason, because most TVs limit themselves to 60hz/fps. so its generally considered wasteful beyond that. some of the most popular games ever sold, are console games, with controllers. many people who play on PC also use controllers, shown by the fact that millions of controllers for PCs get sold all the time. and as a software/game developer myself. building for a PC is more limiting than building for a console.. building for a console gives you a known target, gives you an absolute guarantee that "this is what the user has"... when you are targeting a PC, you have to target the lowest common denominator for the type of game you are making, which, can sometimes be an IGPU. you spend more time on things that dont matter on a PC, than you spend on a console, because you are having to work around having to target an infinite combination of hardware... on top of all that. you seem to have a very fixed opinion, which is likely coming from just your own experience, not an average experience, and not an experience of somebody with 20+ years in the software industry... tbh, its the very type of brain dead elitist take that gives PC gaming a bad name among gamers in general

I have a question I was hoping to get opinion of. I purchased used ram on marketplace from someone who was nice, but the ram was tested in memtest86 and both sticks had errors. One of the sticks failed very quickly after thousands of errors, the other just had 1 or 2 after a couple of hours. They do not have the original receipt so I am not sure if corsair will RMA the ram. If I can't get an RMA should I expect the seller to take the ram back and refund me?
