Personally, I had to replace the SSD, but I bought two new ones and set them up in RAID-1 running Windows 11. This happened a few months ago, and when I get my bonus, I plan to buy a UPS backup.

Brown outs usually are worse than a power cut or general spikes. A good PSU has both enough isolation and hold up time to not have issues with extremely short dips in supply. One useful benefit of a UPS is having the PC linked to it via USB so it can issue an automatic clean shutdown before the battery runs out

It can happen. You can try to protect yourself with surge protectors—I did—but it still resulted in a failure. I'm just saying you can do everything right and still end up running into issues. If you know when they're about to happen, I would use caution and power down your PC, or even unplug it from the wall. Otherwise, I would get a UPS. It doesn't have to keep your PC running for hours—just long enough to power down and properly shut everything off, and this process can be automated.

However, I'm sure that if you can provide logs from your PC showing the unexpected shutdown—usually you can find them—that would at least help prove the system was running at that specific time. You can pair that with power outage reports. I normally report outages myself, which shows my address as the one affected, and that can go a long way when you're trying to match everything to the same location.

i would suggest that, doing loads of launches goesnt make you successful on its own. compared to doing fewer launches.. i would say that your percentage of successful launches is a more valid measure of success

SLS has been in development for like 7 years longer and launched once, they spend all their time doing simulations instead of just launching the damn thing

Things like the booster landing burns are already being optimized, something that realistically only can be done with repeated landings in real life

Falcon 9 took years to get the landing burn as optimized as it is

validating your simulations, knowing the accuracy, allows you to run 1000s of simulated launches per day, which then allows you to correct problems on real launches before then even happen, rather than doing 10 real launches that blow up

The Mac is because no Windows machine has battery life even close to that and if they do (lunar lake)... they have a bit of a problem which is Windows itself like locking up for 4 hours while it tries to perform an update.

Low key sucks because everyone was like "oh lunar Lake doesn't have that amazing of an igpu" I was playing borderlands 4 on it lol

M4 pro. I didn't like the M4 non Pro because I was concerned about memory bandwidth and the M5 was not on hand to sample to check responsiveness.

Obviously Mac not really built for gaming, but M4 Pro gives you a chance of at least being able to play something even if it's not an enjoyable experience for the price.

It was $380 to go from the M5 to the M4 Pro and I went from also 16 to 24 GB of RAM so I figured it was worth it

Obviously it would have been cool to see if a M4 Max performs any better, looks like (according to Reddit) it's only about 10% better but you can't do a M4 Max in a 14 because you're limited by about 18% on total available wattage to due to cooling solution.

Kind of the same issue with the M5 they gave it more power but the same cooling solution and they thermal throttle pretty aggressively
