Correct. You don't get the raw files. Like downloads in Netflix or Crave, the videos are only playable in supported players on supported devices. This is by design to prevent people from easily re-uploading or distributing the video files themselves. I don't agree with it either, as there are ways around this and using MPV.net as my video player on Windows and MPV on Android offer a far better experience than YouTube's native player but... This is working as designed.

Last I checked, ROKU devices have no way to configure DNS, so if even if you run PiHole at the router level, some stuff can get through if you're not also doing packed inspection. (This was years ago though. Maybe it works now? Maybe I just didn't have it setup correctly. Who knows.) this is why Premium is even beneficial to me - many of my own TVs just have Roku devices hooked up.

Labs wasn’t meant to be a channel. It’s more for archival purposes so you can search it. They also integrate labs testing most times when any sort of testing needs to be done. PSU circuit is the only channel done by labs and it’s more like a side project of labs.

Since wan show isn’t a channel - their really is only LTT, short circuit, and tech linked

All those are on permanent hiatus. Expanding channels requires money LMG doesn’t really have. And LTT is kinda on a low view note.

This happens with all business. When the core product suffers for whatever reason could be irrelevant to the product itself - the business has to cut non profitable parts and double down and refocus on the main business. Which in this case is LTT.

Short circuit is on healthy growth. Labs is working as a money sink in the background with a hopeful payoff for the community. Floatplane is doing well as a moderate cash cow but it’s not like it’s growing like crazy. tech linked is doing well but by its nature is meant to be low cost kinda off the cuff

Merch is expanding insanely well and sound great. But it all hinges on the core of LTT succeeding otherwise it falls apart.

Statistics also back this up. Ltt doesn’t upload daily.

While I think quality has improved and mistakes are lessened and corrected better I don’t think it’s actually been a good business decision in a financial sense. They definitely don’t make more money off views never mind lost sponsorships and merch revenue from less exposure.

i have a dashboard pc (that runs some touchscreens underneath my main monitors) thats arch with hyprland, truenas scale for my NAS, a shitload of linux VMs etc. - so its not like i dont have enough linux in my life. but if you have to use adobe products, linux isnt great (yet)

oh yeah, i do hate them too. but theres just no alternative for photoshop, frustratingly. sure, for individual features you have some good alternatives (gimp for some parts, krita for drawing) and you can get away without lightroom for the most part (darktable), but its clunky and there are still so many features missing. many of which i rely on. so yeah, i hate them but i cant really ditch them either

Tried mint with cinnamon, I liked it but wanted more out of my DE so I installed KDE plasma only to find out it didnt work quite right with mint so I said fuck it and went debian. Moving to debian also fixed a few issues I had with mint not detecting some stuff correctly

pretty sure its not, but the generic rule is: sell local (craigslist, facebook marketplace, ...), ideally hand over things in person, never accept cheques. check ebay with filter for "sold items" to get an idea of fair pricing, take good photos of your item and describe it well. (also i would edit your message and remove the actual part, so your message doesnt get deleted, as it could inadvertendly be read as trying to sell :))
