That's normal. A lot of games/programs will use whatever they are able to use. If you only had 4gb before, it would use that and if it needed to swap to system ram, or to disk, it would. Now it had access to 16, it uses that, and probably swaps less

I emailed IT to see if they could help and they keep saying my "4k monitor is the problem and I should try reducing the resolution to 1920x1080. Or take the monitor home and we'll set you up with two 1920x1080 monitors". The monitor displays 3840x1080, which I believe is 1080p, not 4k. It is essentially two 1920x1080 monitors in one.

Am I missing something obvious that would qualify this monitor as 4k? Or is my IT support off base here?

a few years ago, i WAS hit by a car. did a 50 mile bike race that started at midnight. just finished the race at 3am.. was riding back to where i had left my car... i was at a cross roads, lights were green for me, so i i went through them and turned... taxi jumped across the red light, went into the back of me... went up onto the car, bounced off the window, spat back down and off the car, skidded down the road until i hit a kerb.. destroyed a 2 day old bike. tore my ligaments and some tendons in my right ankle, right knee, and my right hip, road rash all the way up my right hand side from my ankle right up to my arm. whiplash. 2 broken ribs and a concussion... ambulance picked me up, said i was "mostly fine", gave me some food to get my blood sugar up.. and instead of going to the hospital, i asked them to drop me off at my car.. .and i drove 40 miles of windy roads to home, and went to bed... woke up the next morning, couldnt move my right leg, or right arm, my wife made me go to hospital, which is where i found out about all the damage that had happened to me.. (guy was arrested at the scene, and charged with wreckless driving, driving without due care and attention, and vehicular battery)

Driving without due care is not noticing a red light or a cyclist and hitting them. Reckless driving is doing something you know that will endanger someone. You can be charged with due care without it being reckless, but if you are charged with reckless, you are usually charged with both

Weird. I don't receive ads / notifications, OneDrive doesn't bug me, tracking doesn't get in my way, and the new right-click menu has all the integrations with Dropbox that I use on a regular basis. Trust me that’s already better safety installation than this flolab pro nanoarmour ‘3d’ screen protector I got myself this year when I bought myself a iPhone pro 15.

I had no idea it just came with 1 screen protector for like $40 . I think I spent 40 mins nervously installing it, with knowing I only had 1 shot 😆
