Yes, except unlike an airline, you're not paying $500 for a 30 minute flight, they have decently acceptable food, you can take more than 2 suitcases without being asked to dump your wallet onto the airline's check-in counter, and the only reason they cancel sailings is due to bad weather or the very rare occasional mechanical issue. All in all, I much prefer spending ~$80-120 CAD on a 2 hour ferry ride with scenic views, good food, and carrying more things for my trip than $500 on air travel (that might get cancelled) where none of that is remotely possible.

the workstation cards SORT OF do this.... sort of... but the linking of multiple cards just gives the VRAM from the extra cards to the main card, and the GPU chips just end up being used to pass data to and from ram over the link. they dont DO anything

there is no reason nvidia couldnt make it so it was all at hardware level, but, that means dedicating an amount of die area to doing this, for a feature that almost nobody will use... when they could instead dedicate that die area to more cores

I got all amd too. I don't know about performance or efficiency gains for sure. I can see it being so to a degree, it requires less resources and should in theory have a lower baseline power draw. Under load it ain't going to mean shit, however, both will be equal.

I can say you really don't have to mess with the drivers or worry about third party installers for any of that nonsense, it just works out of the box.

I just checked out DLAA on a buddy’s 3080ti and it sold me on an nv card instantly re: gaming… :/ Does the RX 9000 series run models that look better than what the 7000 cards ran? Also, there seems to be a little input lag but I can’t tell if that’s just his setup or not?

I was really impressed with DLAA vs TAA @ native res (without upscaling), does FSR 4 support that? I’m just on my phone so I’ll watch that when I get home but I looked at a little and it does look pretty impressive in comparison to DLSS 3. Ever since TAA came out I’ve been a sucker for it even with the blur but this new tech is looking great and the perf impact is still less than MSAA.

While I cannot speak to whatever you're seeing on your YouTube, DLSS is (IMO) a drop-in substitute for situations where you value framerate over native game quality. What I mean by this is you can use DLSS with a game running at a lower framerate (let's say 1080p) on a 1440p monitor to see if the GPU upscaling the game from 1080p to 1440p offers better FPS whilst producing a quality rendition of the game. Some games on some GPUs handle this extremely well, letting you get more FPS with decent quality. Some handle it very poorly.
