Huh. Well that's a first. I've never had a CD that's "too new" for a CD player. You sure the old and new CD's are both just plain CD-R or CD-RW discs? Or do you have a link to where you bought them online? (Or just take a photo of the front of each disc.) I'm mostly just curious about what might be different between them now.

Gotcha. I'd wager a strong guess it indeed is however the newer CD-RW discs work causing issues, or potentially your CD burning drive that doesn't write to the newer discs properly, since they also won't play in your computer.

It's not that car radios can't play CD-RW's - yours obviously can, however, CD-RW's are very temperamental, depending on the burning and reading drives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-RW#Speed_specifications
