Here's what happened. I was mowing, and it just stopped moving. The engine was still running, but struggling. I could move at all. It started to smoke. I shut it off. Then I get help, he tries to turn it on, it struggles real hard, but starts. And it's smoking. We shut it off. And it tries to start, like the fan moves a little bit, but it quickly stops. The starter started smoking too.

Depends, i mean if you have a GTX 670, a GTX 680 will also be compatible with your motherboard, but if your crashes are due to your power supply failing or struggling to power your machine, the GTX680 will make it even worse.

Also the GTX 680 is so old at this point, I like mine but I would recommend buying a midrange modern GPU instead like an RTX 5060 or Radeon RX 9060.

Well, reasoning is they are pretty much the lowest end modern GPUs that you can buy at the moment. Any PCIE-sporting PC with a suitable PSU will technically work with them, but yeah... to get the most out of them, would need to be on a newer platform. Was just recommending the weakest current graphics cards that are more powerful than the 680.

Can always try and buy older used graphics cards.. but I try to avoid used graphics cards unless I am buying really old ones for fun, personally.

They are quite close, from what I remember, GTX 670s have the same GPU as the 680 on them, but they are lower clocked/lower binned versions

basically any GTX 680 chips which fail testing as 680s often end up getting sold as 670s.

Similar to how old AMD CPUs (I think Intel sometimes did it too), but AMD in the Phenom II days would manufacture all chips as Phenom II X4's, but those with faulty cores or cache would get sold as Phenom II X2's/X3's or Athlon II X2/X3/X4 depending on what was faulty and had to be disabled.

Most Athlon X2 chips were actually the same physical chips as Phenom II X4's but had parts disabled due to them failing testing.

Was oddly the same for me too, going from a 2070 Super to a 7900 XT some time ago.

Overall system stability feels a lot better now with the 7900 XT than it did with the 2070S. Hell, I even handed it down to my little brother for his rig and from all I've heard with his misadventures in system upkeep, that thing seems to be at it's limit a lot of times for him.

The truth is is that our commercial airline pilots are pushed to the edge of reasonable working hours with such little pay.
