It would be cool if Framework had some kind of an awesome ARM64 board. Something with an NPU, support for GPUs, M.2, USB 3, 2.5GbE, TPM 2.0 (for Windows, I guess), DDR4 (DDR5?), and all the other things. I think (I would imagine) Microsoft would come around and let you sell it compatible with Windows 11 maybe, or it would work with Linux for sure. As for performance, I actually use an iPhone 16 Pro, so I’m a bad example, but these Androids are all decent for ARM. Microsoft was pushing Windows on Arm at one point. I think it’s a chip whose time hasn’t come but they might be on their way. Some of these ARM servers look impressive. At some point it might be compelling. For me it’s more curiosity. i use githib copilot at work, i make the robot do the boring stuff i dont like doing.. freeing me up to do the stuff i actually like to do

the difference is, you SEE the updates to grub in linux, you dont see them when windows does an update to its bootloader... they are likely just as frequently updated though

Linux Mint or ZorinOS are the easiest ones to switch to from windows.. very familiar look, while also being based on ubuntu, so very very widely supported... and ive yet to run into any game that i actually play, that wont run under steam's proton (other than fortnite, but i have a spare laptop i can use to play duo's and trios with my kids)

they can write C and C++, but they suck at knowing what libraries you have chosen to use, and will only write stuff in the most common libraries, usually they try and use boost, whether you are using boost or not

though to be fair, i only use copilot to bootstrap the unit tests for me.. because i hate writing all that boilerplate bullshit 😄
