I wanted to do just that: min two generations same model upgrade for just vram and a decent enough perf as a secondary thing. The perf over two gens usually always meant features though pretty sure. But yeah then you started paying for rtx you dont want and the models had way different memory in a single gen.

less than 90c on the hotspot is fine. but you are running a specific game at a specific set of settings, which requires that particular architecture a certain amount of power... which produces a set amount of heat... the "cooling" on any given card is largely identical between cards, and between revisions... the difference is the GPUs ability to produce heat or not... and... the 5080 produces more heat than the 3070ti

ie. that PC you are looking at, roll it in towards the wall, so its facing up instead of down, but with the power cable
