Hey, so I've got someone on marketplace who's agreed to $1050 for a PNY 4090. They've agreed to meet in person, accept cash, and allow me to test the card prior to purchase. What should I be concerned about? This is obviously less than half what the card is going for used, so I'm skeptical. But I don't see how I could get burned if I'm able to test the card. Obviously the card could fail but that could be true about any card purchased used. Any advice?

Eh, there definitely is a quality difference. The cheap pack does the same job but I've seen em rip over repeated uses. The LTT ones feel a lot more "buy it for life"

ok so I used to work IT at my hs and the chromebooks all had 16GB nvme SSD's for storage. anytime a chromebook would die I would take the wificard, the ssd, the screen, and the battery out to fix other chromebooks. the ssd's almost never whent out so I just had a box with like 70 of them by the time they whent eol and the school got new models. I just kept them and got a usb to nvme adapter and used a labelmaker on them and used them like flashdrives for personal use

I have a "tech" question:

I have a Corsair AIO, i recently switched my motherboard + cpu. Once i powered on my pc I noticed my corsair AIO doesnt light on, the pump seems to be working (i hope) the rgb just doesnt turn on. Now its been a week or so and i noticed that 20% of the time when i turn my pc on the AIO DOES light on with the rgb, the other 80% it doesnt. is this an issue i can fix or did i just fuck up a cable or something?

something that really annoys me... my 3 kids go to 2 different schools, and both schools use a different parent/teacher communication system that has an integrated attendance/homework/other things that schools need... system... both systems suck balls, they are objectively, shit.. i could quite easily build something myself, that scales up, and out, as required, that is just as good as either, within 2 weeks of free time... within 2 months, i could build something significantly better, cheaper to host, and thus cheaper for the school to buy... but... im not "in the school system", im not friends with an existing principal, im not on a board of governors.. and im not already a provider of any systems to any schools... which means it would be impossible to sell anything to any schools... so no matter what i built, how good, how refined, how cheap, how much better it is, i just wouldnt be able to sell it... which sucks
