Hi all, just joined the Discord but been a long time watcher on YT. This is going to be a weird post, and I hope it's not against the rules, but I'm hoping for some possible help from the Vancouver area people (any of the LMG staff maybe?).

My family and I are basically fleeing America at the moment, due to the political climate (not going into that discussion) & safety (targeted minorities). We drove up here to the Vancouver area from the US this past weekend and have been staying at AirBnB's for the past week. My wife and kids are staying here until our passports come through and they can go overseas if need be to apply for asylum, however my job requires me to be in the states so I have to go back soon so we can continue to have income and I search for a new job (Senior Software Engineer) that lets me work remotely outside of the US, and figure out what to do with our stuff.

Wondering if anyone in the area has any resources or anything that could help? We went around to several shelters today to inquire about them staying, but didn't really get anywhere, until possibly next week.

We're all a bit afraid of what's going on, and just needing some help and resources. We have a packet of available shelters and such, but not all of them are the safest necessarily or will even take in my family.

OH FUCK so look at this it was completely Google's fault

Basically they ground the screen driver by using copper tape and pins on welded to the midframe and speaker

one of the pins pokes through the tape and fucks the screen

so that the shim lifts the pins further away from the tape and the tape is thicker so the pin won't poke through
