👋 Hi, I'm looking for troubleshooting advice. I just bought a pair of Flare X5 sticks to match the pair I already have. I'm getting the orange DRAM light on the mobo in any configuration of the sticks. I've tried them each one at a time, the 2 new ones just don't let it post. Each time I swapped, I cleared CMOS (holding a + screwdriver head between the pins, not pulling out the battery). Testing them as a pair without my current pair, or one a time, no joy. I can post with both my current sticks or one at a time, so they seem fine.

Do I just need to return these new ones? I read that it's possible that even if they are just from a different lot, new sticks might just be incompatible.

Or is there another trick I can do?

The problem with buying dual kits is that generally, their speeds and timings are usually rated for 2 slots. That's why you get 4 DRAM kits. Loosening the timings a little could help get them booting but have you tried the new kit by themselves?

and thats the same for mix and match, or, 4 matched sticks
