The difference is that the DS has its 2nd screen less than an inch apart. Games can be ported to the DS fairly straight forward (say the minimap of a game is just at the bottom or just rendering the game on the 2nd screen in a way that it looks like a single continuous screen (idk how to describe it)). The Wii U's 2nd display is usually a couple of feet away. You'd have to be creative with the gimmicks to make the port a good port. Plus that 2nd display is a touchscreen

You actually don't need to do pure assembly with 7th to 8th gen consoles most of the time.

6th gen just depended on how much low level performance you needed to abstract from the hardware.

definitely for FX you'd be much better off in houdini

but maya is pretty standard for animation, due to the how advanced rigging is in maya compared to a lot of DCCs

a lot of people use it for modelling too, though whatever goes because the principles for modelling is the same no matter what program you use

9800x3d draws like, 130w at max. most boards these days has decent power delivery so

just get what has enough lanes, and rear IO that suits your needs
