Nvidia said for the 4090 series they needed the beefed up hardware optical flow accelerator for framegen... except the new framegen doesn't even use it anymore. Exact quote from their blog post about DLSS 4:

ive got a 1070 ti and i recently played space marine 2, i thought it was doing well until i set it to "native" quality, then it dropped like a rock. either i will upgrade to the 5070 or 4070 super, though the latter doesnt make much sense as i would end up paying the same price for less.

We already went over this last night at length which is why people may think you're starting to troll. There are many factors to this, and sometimes you need to know that there will always be a better GPU. In two years, you may have a --60 level card outperform you.

If the card does what you want - then go for it. If you keep worrying about the prices and "better" then you'll spend more time trying to upgrade than you will be having fun with it all.

It's up to you, technologically? The 5070 will NOT be smoking the 7900XTX without Framegen/DLSS.
