The reason the emissions are lower with a delete and tune is because with the factory equipment installed the car has to burn more fuel to get the catalytic converter hot which is wildly inefficient, my cars tune gets the engine hot by playing with timing but using less fuel. all cars are designed to burn all the fuel, if they dont, that leads to a blown head gasket, or a fully blown head... or wrecking your valves... all you have done is tweaked the volumes to a different AFR, that also burns all the fuel (there are several ratios in several volumes that will burn all the fuel).. likely you have just chosen an air-fuel mix that just puts less fuel and less air into the chamber, but leads to power loss, but only power loss at the top end of the rev range, and given that diesels have all their power at the bottom end, you havnt noticed

The definition for "toy" is "an object that is used primarily to provide entertainment". I think the general use case for a raspberry pi is pretty similar to any computer if you keep your expectations in line, I wouldn't say it's pure "entertainment" or that's even its primary use case. You could argue it's an educational toy I suppose but even then it can actual perform quite well for home automation and the like so I wouldn't even put it there.
