we had an issue with our work laptops last year. we all got sent new machines, and i was 1 of 2 people who managed to get the "new build" working on the laptop, and got the entire solution to build and run under it... it was taking so much time to get everyone else onboarded, it was quicker for me to rip the drive out of mine, make an image of it on my other machine, stick that on a USB drive, and drive to the office with it, and everyone else met me there, and i restored that image to their machines.. .was faster

That’s also a good solution. The dock I have lets you mirror the steam deck to the monitor.

Sometimes it’s better to have the deck on a dock, as you have the peripherals connected to the dock, giving you extra ports to use for other things, as opposed to having those peripherals connected straight into the deck, and then relying on an adapter, which could also take up the only USB-C port.

There are pros and cons on both sides, it depends on your use case.
