Microsoft and Intel are really buddy buddy right now. Im constantly seeing stuff that was usually in Intel's documentation getting ported to Microsofts documentation

Even massive parts of the Intel DPTF system that handled really detailed logic for thermal control ended up as standard ACPI Design and inside Microsofts documentation

a rachet is a very simple mechanism, and is also pretty easy to do in plastic, since you dont need as many moving parts as you do in metal, because the plasticity of the material its self can be its own spring

rather than a clutch, the twist on the shaft that would change where the clutch is locked, could just be a type of screw lock, ie, twisting it one way, locks one rachet while making the other free spinning, turning it the other way reverses that

ive printed pretty small gears, even with a 0.4mm nozzle, for RC cars, and they worked well enough in high speed high torque environments... ended up stripping, but i had to really try to make them strip

quality of your material, and your slicer settings are more important when you go smaller

PETG printed where the gears where all wall, worked best for small gears for me

interpolation wont be enough, because your next waypoint from that, may put you in somebodies front garden (or a gravel trap), rather than going round a corner
