sound cards are used by those who NEED the dedicated hardware, in the same way that GPUs are used by those who NEED the dedicated hardware... an igpu is enough for a display out to do basic computing, HDAudio is enough to put sound to some speakers or some headphones... but for either, if you want more than that, you get the dedicated hardware

While it's true that producing sound is much simpler than graphics, integrated solutions have come a long way. The benchmarks are out. It might take some time, but I reckon eventually it will get there. Now iGPUs can play at 1080p. It's only a matter of time before they are capable of 4K. Higher resolutions than that offer no benefits as the human eye will not be able to discern a difference.

I have heard a lot of people say that consoles have lost a major advantage over PCs now that the PS5 Pro costs $700. But they're forgetting that's just MSRP, it's got nothing to do with actual price which is determined by supply and demand.

They'd have to encroach on the performance levels of dedicated gpus near the high-end within the current gen architectures or later to do that and that requires an expense they may not be able to make back the money on at all.

So it's really not worth it to them to do versus the dedicated card route.

See the problem is, within the code of the windows directory under the script there is a little message box near line 360 that is hard coded

Hence if you run the exe you will get the windows pop up all the time. And /S does not bypass it 😦
