So I worked on it more since then, its passing the Y-Cruncher tests ive been running it though. If I ever get a coefficient invalid warning I go back and work on it some more. I was able to get to 3600mhz 16-19-19-38

VDDP SOC voltage is 1.2v ( +0.1v)
DRAM Voltage is 1.435v Higher than that caused instability.

I still need to dial in voltages more I think I could probably reduce them a bit. I wasnt able to get my latency any lower than that. Im running mixed ram sticks...one set is 3200mhz and the other is 3600mhz. So the hz OC is what the 3200 was tolerating, and the timings tightening is what my 3600 kit is accepting.

they're quite close but with that price difference and given my preferences, I would go with the steam deck, as I really dislike the aesthetic of the ally and I only really play steam games or games that I can play on linux. The ally's screen is slightly better, but I'm not playing games that would take advantage of the 120hz and I don't care too much about colors as long as they're decent. The performance on the steam deck is good enough for me and the size doesn't bother me. If you want more performance for less battery life and a smaller form factor, I would go for the rog ally, but I like the steam deck

there's also the repairability factor since valve is partnering with ifixit and I think that's super cool, but that's a really minor difference imo

Well overclocking is allot of trial and error, its also down to the bin you got dealt. like some can overclock better as the other same exact chip.

not completely , some gpu's crash on certain games with some brands 🤔 amd had a handfull in crashing in my games while nvidia didnt. and otherway around vice versa.
compatibility with one gpu vs other can matter in some games / drivers.

My son has a ms account and he's 13, and it knows he's 13, he's signed in to Windows with it, default browser is chrome.. not edge .. it doesn't force you unless you are in "S mode" and even then, s mode is just a set of restrictive group policies that's are there to stop children ruining their own system

There is literally an option that says "leave s mode" and it turns it all off. And it's in the standard windows system settings

And, it's not just for accounts where you are under 18. Its any account logged onto a windows machine that has windows installed in "s mode". Which is a lot of laptops these days

If a driver in the kernel crashes, it CAN take the system down IF the driver is badly written in the first place. If it's in userland, windows it's self can recover from it no matter how badly it was written

Its the difference between you having to handle the failure, and windows handling it for you
